Hey! I love your tutorials! Whenever I have a waterslide to put on a dark Tumbler I always duplicate the image and print it as a cut file on white vinyl… Then I place the white vinyl on the dock Tumblr and slide the Clearwater slide over! It works great… I definitely recommend trying it out!!
Powerwash gets a THUMBS UP from me! I like this version better than the first one. GREAT tutorial. If possible, would you be willing to show us how to decorate a ceramic dinner plate and/or a cup and saucer, please? This would make a nice and unique gift. Thanks.
Thanks for your excellent video! With gluing the waterslide on the black background, you probably should cut your waterslide image exactly around, according with the shape, and then spray with the white color and then with the clear coat after white. In this case you would not see the film around of the transferred image. What do you think about it?
I made a cup using this method for the water slide and like you I put it on a black background. I used black alcohol ink to blend the color around the image once it was on the cup, worked pretty good.
Love the power wash! I wish you would have showed the actual spray painting of the white spray paint. I’m a beginner so I don’t know what’s too much of the white. Either way I loved this video and the mirroring placement of the water slide. It has helped me tremendously
Ohhhh I just love it with the powerwash 🎃👻I had the same issue with a black tumbler I did so I just powerwashed around the decal to hide the difference in the blacks it ended up looking pretty cool👍🏻😊thank you for the Fantabulous tutorial … your beautiful creations always inspire and help me step outside my “comfort zone” 😊👍🏻🙌🏻🧋❣️
My favorite hack I learned for Waterslides is wetting the back with a piece of paper towel and keep the image face down so it won’t curl. I hated submerging them it was always hit or miss results for me. Now it’s stress free 😁
I have a question. When I did this and I painted on the actual picture with the white when I took the waterslide decal off the actual picture was white and the color was on the sticky side. I’m not sure what I did wrong.
Hello, I'm doing exactly what you're doing, but for some reason when I place it on the tumbler, its not blacking the whole background, just the outline of it, so my design is just blending it with the black, and you can't see it. Do you have tips on what I might be doing wrong?
I just tried this for the 1st time and my one question I have is how do you make the image stuck to the part after you place it on... I tried clear enamel spray paint aint I let that dry then I did another clear enamel spray paint let that dry for a day. But when I went to wet sand it lightly on the edge the whole image still comes up???
You have to use the sealant because the ink will run without it. The white spray paint helps to make the waterslide show up on dark backgrounds because the waterslide paper she's using is clear. Otherwise it would just blend with the background on a dark tumbler. Then you use another coat of sealant to ensure your waterslide is totally sealed so the ink doesn't run. The good rule of thumb is always use a minimum of 3 coats of sealer- in this case the paint and prime counts as one coat.
Sorry this is a dumb question but since you didn’t show what you did I was a little confused I know you used the sealer and then the white paint . So you sprayed the sealer on first on the on the photo then you spray the white paint on on the photo or in back of the picture I’m a little confused . Thanks in advance
Hi! When I click on your favourite epoxy it brings me to their main page and they have a few different epoxy options. Which is the one you use, or how long is the curing time?
@@msorrell89 actually I had watched the entire thing and I just watched it again and it still don't get it..perhaps if I made tumblers it would be different.
I always recommend spraying about 6-10 inches away from the tumbler or image and spraying small spritz. Do not told the button for a long period of time. Instead, single small pushes
Very nice video. But l dont understand why it has to be mirrored. I just dont get it. I feel silly for not understanding. Im sorry. I would really like to do this black behind. Thank you so much your voice is easy to listen to. ❤️
I love your videos: however I'm having the worst time... my cups turn out fine until I put the final cup of epoxy on and then my decal peals up while it cures all night. And now I don't know how to fix it 🤦🏼♀️
To fix: you can lightly sand. Then epoxy. Depends on how badly the image is popping up. To avoid: check out quick coat from CCDIY You place this around images before you epoxy. Then epoxy and you’ll never have that problem again
Are you aware of the existence of film free water slide paper? If you use that, you do not need to worry about cutting or edges or backgrounds. There are none.

Hi do for have a video on this? I have a image that doesn’t show up on dark green

So cute! I bet it would look awesome with a layer of cheat glitter!

Wow! I haven't made any cups with water slides & so glad that I caught some very useful tips from you🤔
Thank you for sharing 😉
I think the Tumblr came out really good but could you please explain why you at the white paint??
I always love your videos; you are a great teacher.
The black looked awesome I would have considered air brushing the edges with the same paint can you used
Love it with the power wash and coloured spray to match the image! I seen Courtney's video where she showed this trick too 😊
Nice - both are great - on the black onerous can still put black paint around your decal & then epoxy again - it may help
You can also use clear vinyl and then spray paint the back of the print out n the sticky side with white spray paint.
can you elaborate on that? I'm trying to visualize how you would print on clear vinyl and spray paint the sticky side.

Spray paint image 🤔. I will definitely try that !!! Makes sense
Loved the power wash
I like them both.
genius!!! thank you so much

What’s gonna hold it to the tumbler? The glue between the decal and backing paper is on the wrong side and there is no glue on the other side.
They adhere together from the water. Once the water is dried, you epoxy over the tumbler and the design stays in place on the tumbler. 🤩
I have a question. When I did this and I painted on the actual picture with the white when I took the waterslide decal off the actual picture was white and the color was on the sticky side. I’m not sure what I did wrong.
You may have printed up side down on the paper
Hi I was wondering why do you use the white spray paint
So the image would appear. If it doesn’t have a white back then the image will be clear and you wouldn’t be able to see the image.
Hi…can I put the white spray paint on a waterslide I bought from someone already printed?? Thank you for the tutorial
Yes.
Hello, I'm doing exactly what you're doing, but for some reason when I place it on the tumbler, its not blacking the whole background, just the outline of it, so my design is just blending it with the black, and you can't see it. Do you have tips on what I might be doing wrong?
Hmmm, may be the waterslide brand of paper?
How did you fix the other one where the blacks didn’t match? I am stuck at that point on mine.
I added the alcohol inks around the two color black.
I just tried this for the 1st time and my one question I have is how do you make the image stuck to the part after you place it on... I tried clear enamel spray paint aint I let that dry then I did another clear enamel spray paint let that dry for a day. I seal all my designs and tumblers with epoxy. Did you place a layer of epoxy over the tumbler?
Dear Koala, there's a lot of misinformation on YT about applying the decals. I read your ad at AMAZON and it says place the decal face DOWN. True?
when doing this method do you need to seal the waterslide after its dry with clear coat before you add resin?
Yes. Print. Seal. Dry. Place on tumbler.
What would happen if you sprayed some of the spray paint into a cup and kinda painted closer to the image with it?
Check out my video on how to clean the inside of your tumbler
And spraying some over most likely adds to the design some! Try lifting the design and reapplying it
Can I ask why you use the sealant and white spray paint and is it better to use both?

Fabulous tip!
Now that’s cool!!
You did great! I agree that closer cut on the white backed decal would have fixed it. However, I loved them both.
Thank you good to know!!!
Okayyyy can I spray paint the tumbler if it has glitter on it????
Yes.
Thank you!!
Hi! When I click on your favourite epoxy it brings me to their main page and they have a few different epoxy options. Which is the one you use, or how long is the curing time?
I like Amazing Clear Cast or the quick coat for my tumblers
Thank you for this!
HOPE YOURE OK!!! Miss seeing your tutorials.
When applying a waterslide.. do you need the epoxy on first or just paint..
Just paint works! This tumbler needs just one coat of epoxy!
Do you epoxy after water slide?
Yes
I understand the reason for the clear coat but why cover the image with the white?
You didn't watch the entire video?
She explains that.
@@msorrell89 actually I had watched the entire thing and I just watched it again and it still don't get it..perhaps if I made tumblers it would be different.
@@nottelling4205 I guess you're right. You should give it a try.
When you mirror and place it face down on the tumbler instead of face up, aren’t you losing the adhesion from the Waterslide paper?
No. Water creates the adhesive for the water slide paper. It will still stick down. Then epoxy right over it
could you not contour so that the black is the same shape as the image?
I wish you had videotaped you spray painting the image.
I always recommend spraying about 6-10 inches away from the tumbler or image and spraying small spritz. Do not told the button for a long period of time. Instead, single small pushes
Can you do a video 📹 of svg to laptop 💻 👨💻 to Cricut for dummies like myself??🤷🏾♀️🤣🤣

Because I placing the decal up side down.
Wouldn't it be easier just to use a white waterslide? I'm all new to this.

Nice my mom makes me tumblers
Black alcohol ink for the edges of the image would have helped blend it
I was wondering how you were gonna place this upside down with a white background.... Lol
