Think turned out beautiful! My daughter has been asking for a tumbler and now that I see this one, and we just did our first horse show last weekend, I think I know what I want to put on it!! 😁🐴
This looks so much easier than using epoxy. I did my first one this week using epoxy. It was good for my first one and it was a picture waterslide for my sister with her granddaughter. After printing 3 pictures, it came out good but I need to make some corrections on it. I watched your video because of the waterslide. But I will have to try with the products you used to try another. Thank you for the video and the details.
The Crystalac products are amazing and the absolute best part is that they are non toxic! They recently released a new product called Grande Finale. It’s similar to the one you saw me using… Brite Tone but it dries a little faster and is a little thicker so less layers. I appreciate you watching!
Hi Aaron... brite tone is an epoxy free alternative. It's super cool and I have a lot of videos showing it. The Crystalac company has come out with something even better than brite tone.... it's called Grande Finale! I haven't had a chance to use it yet but as soon as I get back to tumbler making I will!
Thank you so much! Honestly… I don’t fully keep track of layers. I usually do about 4 or 5 and then add until it feels right. So I would say sometimes it’s just like 6 or 8 maybe. It will also depend on your glitter or whatever base you are covering up. If chunky glitter be sure to seal it with glitter glue and flatten it really well by rolling it in parchment paper. Chunky seems to take a few more layers of BT. Good luck to you!!! Happy 4th 🇺🇸🧨🎆🎇
I honestly can’t tell you because I have never tried sticker paper lol I really do find that the water slide is pretty easy now that I’ve got it figured out. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful! Love the blue and silver together. 🤩 Questions for you! Do you get good coverage the very first time you applied your glitter over the blue gloss? And…😊 Do you brush off the excess before applying glitter glue? That’s where I think I’m running into a problem. Maybe I’m brushing off too much. I’m still testing out my watered down GG in the mister sprayer. But I do brush on watered down GG between coats. Plus it saves money!
Hey Karen. What kind of printer do you use to print your waterslides? I'm in the market for a new one. I recently purchased a work force by Epson. Supposedly a great printer for this type of printing. Come to find out (per Epson), it doesn't support waterslides. 🤦🙄 I end up with streaks through my waterslides every single time! Ugh! So frustrating. Anyway, as an experienced user, a printer recommendation would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I use a HP Envy Photo 7155 inkjet. I used to get lines/streaks but learned how to tweak the settings and now my pics are perfect! Ugh.. yes that must be so frustrating!
@@karenbaskettdiyer Thank you! Yes, it is frustrating. I've tried every single setting on my current printer to get them to print clean with no success. That's when I decided to call Epson. I guess I should have known when I looked at the list of paper choices in the properties menu. There are 6. That's it! Never have I seen such a short list on a printer. Oh well. It works great on anything with a semi or matte finish. 🤷 Thank you again for the info. It's hard to tell with most of the reviews on printers, who has actually used the printers for this purpose and who is just trying to sell printers. 😬😳
Thank you! No it does not. It’s not completely odorless… but the smell is very mild. Keep in mind it is non toxic and NO PPE required like with Epoxy. I had to switch from Epoxy due to allergic reactions. Crystalac’s Brite Tone was my saving grace. They also have a newer product called Grande Finale 2.0. Definitely check out my affiliate link to see all their products! Thanks for watching!
I just have an HP Envy… ink jet printer…nothing special I t’s all about the waterslide paper and making sure you seal it and letting it cure/gas off like I did here before submerging it in water. 😊
It’s by THE CRYSTALAC Company. But…. They’ve just released a new product called GRAND FINALE! It has a two hour dry time and is a bit thicker than Brite tone so… Even better! Here’s a link if you’d like to take a look. thecrystalacstore.com/?sca_ref=902960.dal8mKqST1
I am struggling so bad with epoxy 😭 I use the same epoxy as you and I have sooo many bubbles on my cups. My house is 70 degrees. I pour equally. I pour the thicker one on top of the thinner, stir for 3 mins, hit with a heat gun for 5 seconds, then let it sit for about 5 mins. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I'm hoping you can help me! A big please and thank you ❤️
Hi Briana… I no longer use epoxy. I switched to Crystalac last June. It is really amazing the difference… no mixing parts. No PPE required to use it. No heat gun, no bubbles! I have a couple of videos titled Tumbler Talk with Karen you should take a look at those. Feel free to ask me questions.. I may not always know the answer but I can certainly try to help!
@@karenbaskettdiyer I am definitely going to go look at them right now lol! I have been getting so frustrated and discouraged. Thank you so much for reaching back out to me!
It’s a 20oz skinny. I can’t remember the exact size of the pic but I wanna say 2.5” x 9.25” … it might depend on if your using epoxy or Crystalac. It would change the thickness of the cup a bit so you might just have to measure the diameter of your cup. I hope that is helpful.
Beautiful!!! Happy Easter!
Thank you!
Love it Karen BEAUTIFUL. ABBY was thrilled with it. I appreciate you so much and your talents and Sweetness .
You are so very welcome! Glad she liked it! ❤️
Love it!!! Love the sparkle and colors!!! It’s beautiful!!! 💖❤️💖❤️💖
Thank you!
So pretty
Thank you!
Beautiful job! I'm sure she will love it. I am so intimidated by water slides! It's going to take me forever to be happy with them 😅.
Ya just gotta go for it!

That's a beautiful tumbler was wondering if that bright toner a type of resin?

Very beautiful tumbler, how many layers of bright tone did you use, I’m making tumblers for my sons wedding

I just love this cup. Can I ask after practise is water slide easier or preferred than doing it on sticker paper? Or are they comparable?

Thanks! Yes… I only did one one coat of blue glitter over that one coat of blue gloss. Sometimes I brush off excess if there’s a lot falling off.
My water slide prints are having dots and streaks. Can you recommend what tweaks would help?
I know how frustrating that can be! Are they showing up when you print them or just after you seal them?
Also what kind of printer do you have?
What is Bright Tone? never heard of it. is it like epoxy?
It’s a nontoxic alternative to epoxy. You can apply with your hands, no PPE required.

What printer did you use? I’m concerned the water will damage the photo prints

Nice - what is the name of the water slide paper did you used ? You put it on a dark colored base & you can see it - lol Have a great week
It’s called Hayes water slide paper. It’s white so it does great on dark colors!
@@karenbaskettdiyer Thank you so very much - need to check this paper out - would make my life much easier lol - have a good one
It’s great. You too!
What's the name of the sealant for the glitter
It’s a Crystalac product called Glitter Glue. The clear topcoat over the whole tumbler is called Britetone… also a Crystalac product.
Whats the brand of bright tone.
It’s by THE CRYSTALAC Company.
But…. They’ve just released a new product called GRAND FINALE! It has a two hour dry time and is a bit thicker than Brite tone so… Even better! Here’s a link if you’d like to take a look.

What size is the picture and what size the tumbler
It’s a 20oz skinny. I can’t remember the exact size of the pic but I wanna say 2.5” x 9.25” … it might depend on if your using epoxy or Crystalac. It would change the thickness of the cup a bit so you might just have to measure the diameter of your cup. I hope that is helpful.
Did you epoxy first
No, unfortunately I am highly allergic to epoxy. I only use Crystal products specifically their Brite tone in this tutorial.
