I've had two pairs of the Voyager Focus and both got significant cracks on the plastic part of the head band after 18 months. This is a known flaw but the headset is so damned good that I likely buy a third one. I appreciate the good review. Thank you.
I've had the headset for 2 years and that's not the case however the mic is dog shit
You are absolutely right sir Audio speaker quality, mic quality, comfort
Can't wait to try the Voyager Focus 2! Thanks for the comment.
Maybe my jabra 65 was defective,BUT I heard everything neighbors, birds, dogs barking bulky uncomfortable cheap plastic jabra junk returned & switched to this beast, sooo comfortable loovvve the mute, ANC is great, WORTH the $80.
The only thing great about the Jabra Evolve 65 in my experience is the microphone quality. Other than that it is a plastic piece of junk lol The headset doesn't get loud at all.
Thank you so much for this review! You covered all the points I was interested in, heck yeah
Thanks for watching! I feel sloppy sometimes but it’s always good to hear feedback!
I was checking out reviews on this headset as it is kind of pricey and wanted to make sure they were good!! Appreciate it!!
Appreciate the feedback as well! These are a great pair of headphones. That music quality is hard to be for what type of headset this is.
Any plans to review the newer Focus 2? Thinking about getting this because it has both teams and zoom integration but wondering if the Focus 2 is worth the extra $60
Yes, I actually have to get that done asap. I've been slacking honestly. lol
Found one on eBay for 60$ used but in good condition. I’ll take it!
Heck yeah! As long as it works and it’s good condition that’s a steal!
I watch a video on these headphones but it was for the Plantronics Voyager Focus UC.... is that a newer version of the one you're reviewing? Or is this one you're reviewing a UC as well?
This is a UC headset and was the latest model that Plantronics/Poly currently had available. I don't see a newer version, although I wish there was a newer version. Thanks for the comment!
I'm using mine for the first time. Not too impressed. There's hardly any difference with or without the anc turned on. They are expensive 🙄 and I don't want to return them as I already returned another pair. The ones I returned were the Dre Beats, they were awesome! I loved them, except, there was a popping noise throughout my whole recording that really annoyed me. I tried to fix it through my settings, google, and RUclips as much as I could but nothing worked 😔.... These will have to do for now 😌.
Are you using them to record music?
They are awesome, had them for two years for everyday work, but drop them a couple of times and the mic now has some cutting off...
Dang, that's a bummer. Sounds like it was hardware damage.
I just got this new with usb-c for $60. Now you are giving me buyers remorse. This is mainly for office work (phone and pc calls) and sometimes to watch tv via Bluetooth. Is the mic so bad that it’s worth spending the money to upgrade. At $60 this is way cheaper than even the jabra evolve 65?
Great work! Totally agree with everything you said.
Thanks a ton for watching and the comment. Just trying to provide valuable feedback.
Price on this is now $175 on Amazon.. which is cheaper than the Jabra 75T. Which has better sound quality to the caller on the other side?
I'd still go with the Jabra Evolve 75 mainly because the sidetone (where you hear yourself) was more natural and balanced and the mic overall was better. The Voyager has just a tad better music quality, just a tad. Evolve 75 has better ANC too.
@@TechOutAdam Would you still go with the Jabra Evolve 75 for listening to music at home? I have the Plantronics Voyager Focus at work and they sound fantastic for music!
Or what is the best headphone for music quality you recommend? Great reviews as always!
iii5200 Oh man that’s really tough. The Voyager Focus has better music quality because of the bass but I still think the Jabra Evolve 75 are better overall. Freaking tough choice!
Great review. I'm deciding for the Evolve 75 or Voyager Focus. What would be your choice for the best all-rounder (if price does not matter)? Is the Evolve 75 way worse in music quality?
Whew great question. Overall I’d say the Jabra Evolve 75. Less ear fatigued, better mic and music quality is almost the same but the ANC is much better.
@@TechOutAdam but the evolve 75 is $200 more lol
Can you clarify your statement at 4:10 ? Why is a microphone wired to a computer always better than bluetooth microphone? And is also mentioned with this a USB microphone?
There’s no latency compared to an older Bluetooth headset which means a better first impression if it’s an important call, meeting on Zoom or if you do a lot of sales calls. With bluetooth headsets every now and then I run into the “Yes when we.. I’m sorry go ahead” frustrating situations lol
@@TechOutAdam And what if we skip. the latency. The point I want to make is that when list to your reviews about the microphones of Plantronics Focus, Jabra evolve 65/65 the s' sounds are very present compared to for example a Blackwire 3210. Personal at this moment the Blackwire 3210 has the clearest microphone sound.
My background I have a Plantronics Voyager Edge and a Blackwire 325T. I am doubing to buy additional a Jabra Evolve 75, a Plantronincs Voyager Focus or maybe I must buy just a seperate USB Mic like the Blue Yeti X. The yet can be combined with mu Edifier S880DB speakers.
The goal is to present a clear microphone sound and that nobody hears my keyboard ticking. In first I was thinking that a Blue Yeti X could be an improvement. Then a new headset came in my mind while the Plantronics/Jabra has a boom mic.
I love mine.. But when the battery stops holding a charge, there are no instructions on how to change the battery. So you have to buy a new headset versus a $25 battery... I don't like that, but I will still buy another one unless I can find a newer better headset.. This is a great headset.
Can you suggest which one has a better mic and is good to work in noisy environment, Plantronics Voyager Focus or Jabra Evolv2 65? Any suggestions on compatibility with Linux OS(fedora)? I am looking at buying one.. reply appreciated. thanks.
Absolutely the Jabra Evolve2 65. I know I haven't done a review yet but it's the headset where people have told me, "Wow that's some crisp audio you have." the most.
Can I use for podcasting
How good is it new at $150 for use in a quiet home office?
I was in an actual coffee shop and it blocked out a good amount of noise so for a quiet home office forget it, it'll work wonders.
@@TechOutAdam I purchased it and it performs better than any headset that I've ever owned.
Excellent review. Someone is selling me this version without dongle. Do I need the dongle to use with pc? Thanks
No, but you want it conn to PC (dongle) & phone (Bluetooth) at the same time then use it.
@@IQstrategy thank you! I plan to use it with pc to work from home, I use mostly microsoft teams. Without dongle can I take advantage of mic button from plantronics focus? Or must I use the microsoft teams button? That is my important concern.
@@SebastianRamirezH Actually no, I have the Poly 825M now on my desk without the dongle and all of the HW buttons on the headset are not working in WIN10 at all (both Skype and Teams). Overall audio quality (MIC) is poor without the dongle - these fact also confirmed by Poly support. So without the dongle it is not worth to use it together with Windows machine.
@@jarotubude that is the answer I expected! Thank you so much. With a real example I can take a decision and If I buy that headset I must buy the dongle too.
If you listen to music or watch RUclips videos the audio quality is better with the BT dongle. I haven't really noticed an increase in audio quality for calls with the dongle though.
The mic voice quality is relatively POOR: compressed, thin and nasal. Like you say the Jabra Evolve 65 sounds much better - since taking over BlueParrot they have integrated the legendary BlueParrot tech popular with truckies and warehouse workers. Still no sidetone adjustment though. Thank you for the great review!!
It's just so weird how they separate the technology and quality of the microphones with Jabra and BlueParrott. I'm like just give me a Jabra Evolve2 design, with ANC from Sony, and a microphone from BlueParrott is that so much to ask? lol!
I hate it when the mic is glitching like it is turning off on its own... Fixed it by updating thr firmware... The sidetone is really important, it is hard to communicate without hearing yourself that much...
That’s something I’m extremely picky about honestly. If the sidetone sucks I can’t even comfortably make calls.
Thank you so much for this review. This is informative and useful So many reviews are not useful. However I find yours to be an exceptions
Of course! I use the products I review really extensively for my reviews.
did he do money heist professor's specs pose..?
I have one but in trading it for air pods a wirless charger and a yootooz pillow
Got to go for what you like! lol
