I needed to re-box my Plantronics Voyager Focus headset temporarily, but couldn't figure out how to fit it in the box. This video was invaluable in showing me how it was originally boxed. Thank you. :)
Good review and thanks. Fantastic headphones for calls and music. Very, very comfortable for all day use. Occasionally glitchy behaviour when BT paired, but generally solid. But, Poly, please include gaffer/duct tape for when (not if) the inevitable cracks appear in the headband plastic. Three sets so far with the same problem, so it's clearly a thing. Please improve your materials.
The glitchy behavior will almost certainly be resolved by downloading Poly Hub software and updating the headsets. The updates are found in the Hub notifications section. Unfortunately the update won't solve the cracking issue. Duck tape is the approved method there! Heads up: The Focus 2 was just released which fixed these issues and has some very nice updates. Hope this helps!
This headset has a major issue with the plastic that connect the ear price with the head band above it. I have been thru 3 headsets and each one has crumbled at this joint. My organization decided somehow that these are cool to hand out and every headset which my colleagues have used has literally crumbled at that piece of cheap plastic. Also, 1 in 3 headsets that i know off had to be sent back as their left ear piece didnt have sound output. (pretty basic requirement for a headset), 2 in 3 needed a firmware upgrade before they worked. For which we had to install the plantronics hub! The battery life is generally good and the range is also reasonable. The sound quality is good (when it works) and noise cancelling is pretty good too. Thats why i also feel its a shame that plantronics build team is scrimping on the cheap plastic. However, one small issue with battery life assessment, it will say 8 hrs remaining and suddenly in few mins warn about low battery and requiring charge. As if it suddenly had a chance of heart. I can live with it. But the 2 things which make me feel my quest for a good headset will carry on is that this headset is very cheaply built and the fact that such a high percentage of headsets are not working out of the box. Also the support helps since there is no good article about fixing the issue of one sided audio output. 1 in 3 times, replacing the headset was the only resolution.
Fully agree and have had same experience. Alas, many manufacturers don't employ materials scientists and just buy any old bulk polymer and assume it will work. Still, gaffer tape will fix the cracks!
Poly just released the Focus 2 which is a major upgrade. These issues have been addressed and many features upgraded. Our review video on it is released tomorrow or Friday.
Thanks a bunch for this video! My company just bought several of these for my team and I wanted a quick/dirty product review. Now I know what all of the buttons are for! Thanks!
Just one correction, the headset can obviously Bluetooth connect to your computer without the dongle but I read somewhere that you won't get the HD sound and possibly some other interactive or custom features.
@@D3FY_Agency I believe it does work because it can't tell the difference, but it warns that you do not get the HD quality for listening to music, etc. without the dongle.
Not sure why but my piece has noticeable reverb especially on sound of ‘t’ ‘p’, like tapping on the mic…not a major issue but it’s just annoying knowing you don’t sound perfect to the person on the other end.
Hey, Good reviews and useful information. Which one would suit better out of 6200 UC and Focus UC. I saw both your reviews it is all pros. A comparative study would help better suggestion. Thanks !!
If you're using the headset on a computer for softphone calls or video meetings you will definitely want the dongle. If it's just being used on a mobile phone or tablet then a dongle isn't needed. Without the dongle the connection is inconsistent, mic quality poor, and wireless range extremely limited.
@@HeadsetAdvisor good to know, but I seem to be pretty lucky then. I do use the dongle on my home desktop because it doesn't have built in BT, but on my work laptop I use nothing but BT and in this day of constant teams meetings, I've never had a quality or distance issue as I listen in on some meeting while wandering around out IT shop.
Not sure why the audio quality is bad, it makes me connect it through bluetooth even with the dongle port in. which makes the audio bad, kinda no point in it without the HD-audio for 200 dollars.
You will want to always make sure you firmware is updated in the Plantronics Hub app. Also, you want to go through the pairing process to the dongle rather than connecting to a computer via bluetooth without the dongle.
+Lov4KR you will physically hear sound coming from it when you game, but there is a noticeable delay. It is superb for skype and teamspeak since it is a headset made for conversations. Also good for music. Its an excellent office headset.
gullf1sk Thank you very much. Finally an answer i can work with. Game sound and music usually comes from my stereo. So i will only use it for ts, which is kinda sad. Maybe Plantronics is going to patch that issue.
So I make outbound calls all day on my laptop. I use the dongle but keep having people tell me I'm breaking up and they can't hear me...Is this a headset issue?internet?my computer? very frustrating..if anyone can help, thank you!
I use Jabber and Teams daily in UK. Teams is mostly fine. Jabber awful, with distortion, low volume and dropped calls. I don't think I've seen a problem with the headset. Probably more likely how your phone software handles poor internet connection, especially fluctuating upload speeds. ISPs sell on fast download speeds and never talk about the uploads which can be important with some voice providers. Also consider network adaptor in PC. I have a Surface Laptop 3 and the wifi card is poor which I'm sure contributes to problems when ISP connection is up and down. Diagnosis is a work in progress.
This will almost certainly be resolved by downloading Poly Hub software and updating the headsets. The updates are found in the Hub notifications section. Hope this helps!
Ive been having issues with it not charging while I leave it on the stand. I've tried making sure that its sitting correctly and everything but I can't figure out why. Does anyone know what the lights will look like when it is for sure charging?

Man, you really helped me for pairing the headset with my laptop, i had lost the connection and absolutely forgot the way to do it. Thanks you!
None of these reviews ever says a word about the call controls, probably the most important feature in a headset.
If you're interested in that you can check out the Focus 1 vs Focus 2 review. Call controls are discussed.
Hearing the review on this headphone itself haha 😂

0:07 Nice, was looking for a headset for both my hmms. Usually it's only for one. 👍
Did you end Up getting one?
@@joywin10rocks No, not yet at least. My hmms are still waiting.

Amazon offers a 3 year warranty for these

@@meldagreat That's not really the point is it? Build well, and avoid warranty claims. So old-fashioned I know.

Can you just say what it sounds??
Just one correction, the headset can obviously Bluetooth connect to your computer without the dongle but I read somewhere that you won't get the HD sound and possibly some other interactive or custom features.
You're right, the headset may work with the computer but it won't work as good when you're not using the USB dongle.
I think it's only MS Teams certified with the BT600 but I may be wrong.
Dude, you should record the audio with the headset, this is misses the point without it!
what headset are you using to record this video?
Great video! Do you know if Bluetooth connects directly to the headset or does it connect through the dock like other plantronics models?
He mentions multiple times in the video - the dongle is required for bluetooth connection to your computer, but not for other devices like your phone.

Biggest difference between the two is fit. Over the ear vs in the ear.
Looking to use either of these for office purpose. I dint hear you well when you had the neckband. Guess you did not record anything on the focus uc.
What about mute and unmute from headset?
You can mute and unmute from the headset.
can you mute from the headset?
thank you for the explanation!
Can this headset be charged via micro USB cable and used at the same time?
Nice video. Can one use it with the smart TV? :)
If your TV is Bluetooth then you can
Can you hear yourself talking well when on your ears and noise cancellation on?
That's a good question. I would like to know the answer.
Yes, it is actually preferable because your voice sounds natural, like it does when you don't have headphones on, except quieter.
Thanks for the thorough review
does it only has the usd energy port on the base, or does it has any rj11 or rj45 port on it?
The headset has mini USB port also
It also has a dedicated port used for the optional desktop dock which powers the headset. If you can afford the dock, I would recommend it.
great review, thanks
great review thanks!
Can we use it on ps4?
can you give it up?
the dongle is not necessary if you use built in Bluetooth of your device.

do we need a dongle for connecting for phones but we can not use dongle for a phone
This headset is designed for computers and mobile phones/tablets. If you need a headset for a desk phone, a different headset would be needed.
can this headset be reset
How do i dissable SIDETONE because i cant xD

Are you able to participate in a Skype conference AND a game without having the audio quality switch to a headset/phone profile?
+jtjdt gaming with this headset is not very good, there is a noticeable sound delay
+gullf1sk I wanna use it for gaming and Teamspeak and not Skype or Hangouts. Will this work?
