My Guy try the audeze Penrose or the Maxwell OR for a budget planar magnetic gamer headset buy the new pulse elite form Sony they bought audeze and made that pulse elite I bought the pulse elite to replace my penrose and dam it’s extremely good and a fair price at 150.
I bought the Kiwi Orchestra Lite's off of Art's recommendation and I also had the DT 900 Pro X's delivered today. One game on them and I think I might prefer the DT 900's. Seems to be more clarity than the the Kiwi's but not sure. Might just have to change in between each game and see what I prefer.
@@lewijono These are the two choices I'm sitting in-between, care to specify which one you ended up preferring? I mostly play Counter-Strike so I would prefer the one that has the most clarity of the soundstage so I can hear footsteps and where they're coming from while shooting and nades going off at the same time
@@ytCharismaI literally just bought these 10 minutes ago and should be arriving today. Switching from the Astro a10 which I have owned two sets for 4/5 years now. Recently started playing warzone and needed something clear. Will comment again if they are better than a10s
Listen, I have no affinity for Astros or anything, but some of the things you say is wild. The CLOTH makes your ears and head sweat? You mean MORE than standard leather eaecup covers? Cmon dude, that's literally just not how physics works. Most of the better headsets have one of a variety of types of cloth on the earcups to reduce the sweating people suffer from. Are they all getting it wrong? Also, with the mic pickup pattern plus the noise cancelling on the vast majority of higher end headsets, there is NO WAY you were getting mic pick up from the earcups. And finally, you talk a lot about being able to adjust things better through your pc software better than the mix the headsets give you, using a separate mic, etc etc, but the vast majority of ppl that use headsets as opposed to headphones or iem's are console players. So your literally missing the vast majority of the audience who would even consider these with this video. And let's not forget the issue of crosstalk when using a wired 4 pole 3.5mm audio jack. The reason wireless headsets like the steel series arctis nova 7 or astro apps, the hyper x cloud alpha wireless etc, are all so popular is because there is no cross talk issues which are nearly a universal problem when using wired headsets. Which also rules out the majority of iem's. And the bass production capabilities of iem's are inherently way lower than most headsets, given that they use 8-10mm drivers as opposed to 40-50mm drivers (generally). The soundstage, the bass response, the comfort level for most people is far outstripped by using a headset as opposed to iems. And I've bought and tried lots of them. I do generally like them, but as you point out yourself, when gaming, footsteps, gun shots, explosions etc all are in the bass range which iem's struggle to produce clearly when theres a lot of other things going on, or if they're far away. Now don't get me wrong, I do agree Astros and steel series are not worth the premium they charge either, but there's countless better value headsets out there as well. The processed audio is unfortunately a case of pick your poison when it comes to console gaming. The lesser of 2 evils. But the good thing is you can disable most of it and get 90+% clean unfiltered or boosted audio with the eq presets available - just turn it off. Me myself, I've had a half dozen equal or better headsets in the £50-100 range as well, but this kinda comes off as a review that is only seeing the picture from your use case scenario, instead of how a large part of gaming player base looks at it.
I’m a musician and been using IEMs & studio headsets since 2020. I noticed right away how much clearer audio was when I stopped using awful products like Astros. A pair of KZs on Amazon are a great option and very affordable!
@@PIRATE9oh4afaik any headphones with combined mic and audio in the same jack works in any series Xbox controller. My KZ work with my Xbox one no problem

@@Jdj28373 damage your ears? Really? I never heard of anything such as that happening. To my knowledge the only way that'd happen is if volume is too high, using them for a super long time (ear fatigue), poor fit, poor hygiene. What else is there about them that hurts your ears?
I use a $100 HyperX headset that works for both console and pc. Clear audio, mic doesn't pick up ambient noise like my AC, adjustable straps have metal bands for durability, no sweaty fake leather, nice comfortable fit. Only real downside is it's not 100% noise canceling.
I guarantee a 65£$ fiio jt1 will be.ow them clear away and a 300£$ fiio ft3 will destroy them 100x over and so will a epos h6pro openback and ALWAYS USE A DAC AMP
Great video and sums up my experience with expensive gaming headsets. They always seemed to just not be worth the money and was always overhyped. Subbed.
If I switch to IEM with an external mic will I be able to hear my own voice still? Im already loud when I game, the wife will hate me if im shouting because I cant regulate my voice properly
@@oakenmausget an audio interface with mic monitoring. I use a Universal Audio Volt 1, but Schiit makes some, Fiio, focusrite, and so on. I’m using a UA Volt1, Rode Pod mic with a cloudlifter, Sennheiser HD560s and it’s great.
Of course IEMs are gonna be better sound. They are made for musicians. Problem with IEM headsets like these for console players is there isn’t a mic attached. So as good as an effort of a video this was… u just created another problem. And cheap stand up mic is gonna pick up too much background noise. So when you talk about better options… make sure you are inclusive of the whole gamer community and fully think thru ur advice
@@AbominationalFailure Oh wow. By all means, look up what an IEM is before you spout off about modmic. Especially when someone is talking about it needing to be console capable as well.
@@jtnachos16 In ear monitors. I prefer quality studio style headphones myself, they're more comfortable for me and not as damaging to ear drums, which a mod mic is perfectly suited for. You're right modmic is a bad option if his complaint about IEMs is having no mic for console gaming. I was almost asleep when I replied lol
there are cables that have boom mics for iems specifically with the intent of fixing that one issue you present. Feel free to look into the Kinera Celeste Ruyi, the Kinera Gramr, and the Antlion Kimura.
You just confirmed everything I ever suspected in regards to headphone audio. I always buy the cheapest corded headset that has decent reviews. I think my current one cost around $30 and has a mute mic button and volume adjuster on the left ear muff and has a Mic that can be disconnected. I don't think you can get much better without spending almost five times as much.
@@theeginga525 are these recommendations bad? what would you recommend? (i currently have hyperx cloud alpha s but i might need to get new headphones someday)
I really like my razer blackshark v2 pros. Got it for like $130. Out of the box, they don’t sound great, but I spent 5-10 min eqing them and I’m very happy with them now. The mic is fantastic too, I’m very impressed with the quality. I picked these up because my usual setup is in storage atm. I usually use beyerdynamic 770s through an audient interface through sonarworks with an sm7b mic.
Steel Series are actually really good. But....never ever pay full price. You always find them on 50%+ discount somewhere online. Got mine for $54 after tax. They were supposed to be $150!
brother.. the hyperx clouds are really good for the price. Theres a reason this guy didnt show them in the video - theres not much to complain about i have the hyperx cloud alphas for 4 years and now that they detoriated, im looking for an upgrade, but they are definitely really good still
@UhKimboze I use them for everything, gaming, music, TV shows. They're terrible for identifying footsteps, when they were brand new I could tell they weren't good but I wasn't going to waste the money I spent.
Just to note on headphone resistance numbers: higher impedance allows the driver to have a tighter response so its good to try to strike a balance between needing low enough power to run and having the sound you want. I use a set of Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250ohm for PC gaming that sound absolutely amazing, but of course need an amp to really get the most out of them. For console I have a set of Sennheiser Game One's that are the predecessor to the Pc38x and have the same awesome mic, but they only cost $100 on Amazon.
@@thrax_843 I wasn’t a fan of a dedicated mic for awhile, but after giving it time and tinkering it’s grown on me. Currently using an Audio Technica AT2040 and Elgato’s low profile mic arm.
I have been using the HyperX Cloud 2 for about two years and have loved the comfort of it. It may not sound the same or best as others, I really enjoy it and recommend it.
I think many of us gamers are gaming from the livingroom couch or gamer chair but no desk. Which makes it difficult and uncomfortable to use a seperate mic right?
How do you review headsets, when you're deaf? I don't see using a spectrum analyzer. I'm sorry, but it does not make sense to damage your hearing, while listening to a loud volume. Your take on technology is good. Do agree, that XLR in- and output is the best for sound quality.
Have the 38x and Nova’s and I mostly agree with you. Straight out the box without tuning the 38’s win and the mic is great. I have the Maxwells and love them. What are your thoughts on them?
This is a conversation I have with people on a fairly regular basis. _So_ many people fall for marketing it's crazy, and most of the time they've convinced they got the best for their money. It's an uphill battle trying to teach them that they were basically ripped off. "But it sounds good to me." Well, you haven't actually experienced good audio yet, your only frame of reference is bad to mediocre, that you've paid a premium for.
Im an audiophile. On top of that, ive been and audio and mastering engineer for 20 years. Although this guy is giving you some advice... DO YOU HAVE HIS EARS..? what about HIS sound preferences..? Maybe likes highs..? Maybe likes a dip in the mids? What about a bass boost? Coming from a pair of steel series which cost me like $80 they were pretty good. 7/10 they had an almost flat frequency response with a small amount of low end boost and the dame with the highs. Worth the $80 ...? Yeah cause the sound stage was preety good with the surround and 3D audio. After about 2 years with those i wanted something better. Went with the turtle beaches gen 2 stealth and itvwas night and day from my steel series. 8.7/10. You do notice the change in better audio quality for games and mysic sounds almost to the equivalent of the BEATS by dre headphones since the both have a bass boost, some dips in the mids and a slight bump around 7k. I dont think you should go over $175 on headphones. Ive even used a pair of AKG samsung wired earphones and they kick ass too. To say that some headsets dont give you anything at all but marketing is a straight lie, but i wont completely knock him for telling you that for gaming headphones, no matter if you spend $300 or more YOU WONT GET AMAZING HIGH QUALITY HOLY SHIT AWESOME SOUND BECAUSE: 1) they are NOT HIGH FIDELITY and specifically calibrated for such a singnal from a game console. Even if you do EQ them with an e.q. the drivers and NOT there at all. So marketing yeah and two, your console doesn't have an audio card or some kind of sick ass audio processor to give you type of quality sound you would want out of it. They just do the bare minimum. ANYTHING can say SURROUND SOUND or 3D sound or whatever lingo they wanna sell you on but is it really...? No, not at all. Buy WHAT YOU LIKE and if it helps your gaming out just a bit then your cheap $40 headphones then thats where it matters.
I've had a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pros for about 5 years, use them for gaming and music listening, and they've never disappointed me, love them to death. Last year, I bought my first set of IEM's, the Linsoul Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lites, and boy, do they sound really good. I now use the 1990s for more single-player games to get that wide soundstage/immersive feeling and use the orchestra lites for stuff like competitive shooters. I run them both through a Fiio K5 Pro dac/amp and actually use the steelseries software to route all of my audio and customize the EQ. If you have any other suggestions on ways to improve my sound setup, fire away!
Amazing enlightening video! First time watching your video. I had no idea that my Steel Series were just a gimmick in shocked and disappointed in those companies. I subscribed ASAP. I have a PS5 could you make a video with a step by step in which ones you recommend for Consoles specifically and how to set it up please. I'm a newbie in this audio world.
@@Mr_Ruhl He's def trying to sell those $18 ear buds because they are affiliate links. He gets a cut of it and people are more likely to take the chance on $20 (tax and all) vs $300 headphones after he said they sounded better than ALL the headsets.
@@JustAGuy85was curious on what the $20 IEMs were and to my surprise it's the mf Moondrop Chu 2 which a lot of audiophiles can agree is one of the best value IEMs for $20
Yes, any gaming company the sells audio and keyboards are literally all gimmicks and a waste of money which is why you hear a lot of people say if it has "gaming" on it, it's most likely shit. A lot of Chinese brands small and large, provide better value for peripherals for gaming lmao
After using DT 900 pro x and kiwi orchestra lite, I kept the OL. OL may sound flat and low bass, the clarity, sound stage and imaging in COD is next level. I can pin point where people are in Rebirth Island etc. because its low bass the footsteps are not as loud. Where as Dt900 pro x has more bass so foot steps much louder but to me it also sound crowded and more difficult to pinpoint enemies, however sound immersion is awesome. Thanks Art for the IEM recommendation.
I'm in the same boat as you. Had the Kiwi's for a couple weeks and just had the 900's arrive today. Footsteps defo better on the 900's but only had one game so far. Going to have to chop and change between games I think and see what I prefer. Kiwi's seem a bit washed out in comparison.
@@VTGALLDAY amazing. It is a tad clustered if you have loads of people in your building but not sure anything could isolate that better. I at least know someone is there so have my whits about me. Couple of times I'd definitely have reported me (if I were the other player) for what looks like blatant wall hacks, just good audio. The kiwi's for a me feel a bit washed out but only tried them in Rebirth which has garbage audio. They're brilliant in MP though but couldn't say any better than the DT900's. In that regard for me it's preference as to IEM of headphone.
I love my PC38X headset! I would recommend buying them direct from Drop as they regularly have them on sale. I picked mine up for only $139! I’d also highly recommend the PC37X headset! Only $120 but also regularly on sale under $100 direct through Drop which is a steal! I’ve gifted a pair of those to 2 of my best friends and converted them to higher quality audio for gaming! Also open back headphones just add so much to soundscape when gaming! 🙌🏼
@@Datakrashcollective basically it’s a mic you can attach to any headphones. So it has a magnet that attaches to your headphones and then you plug the cable straight into your computer. Friends say it sounds clear
Completely disagree. I've gone through over a dozen pairs of $150+ headphones. Everything felt same-y (or worse) but the Astro A50s blew me away. Extremely noticeable difference immediately. I will never go back.
I thought the same until I learned that many professional/Audiophile headphones (and headsets) can have dead spots in the 360° field. They might be amazing for stereo music but fail when it comes to positional audio. Imaging and staging are the important factors when It comes to depth perception and localizing enemy footsteps.
Use my DT900 Pro X for ages now and it's perfect! Great sound and incredible spacial awareness. The only better one is the Beyedynamic T1 1st Gen and 2nd Gen. But that is quite expensive.
As a musician I use IEMs all the time. But it wasn’t until recently that I was playing a game and didn’t want to wear my astros “they can be uncomfortable after a while to me” I decided to plug in my IEMs. Holy cow. IEMs will give you a better sound than ANY headset I’ve worn. Also great for listening to music. The KZ ZS10 IEMs will blow you away for 40$. They beat out any Bluetooth earbuds, gaming headphones, or music headphones I’ve ever used.
I’m an old gamer, I was gaming on a 386 and before that amstrad and Sinclair and I’ve had all the earphones, all of them, I’ve probably got 10 headsets hanging around the house, most of them go to my children, Astro is the only one that has everything I need. The A40 cannot be beaten in the price range. Your mileage may vary but for me that is it. Whatever you are plugging into adds more price on to the purchase anyway. The need to make content has sent you down a path that doesn’t serve most people. Choosing headsets that have no microphone just makes zero sense and half the things you talk about being bad on the astros seem to not be other people’s experience.
For 140$ (seems to be about the average price) you can get some iems for like 50-60 that will wipe the floor with the Astros and still have over 100$ to get yourself a mic that will beat any headset mic
I very much dislike the fact that You picked Wireless headsets to compare to a bunch of corded headsets. The fact that Digital sound Compression over Bluetooth or the HF kills the audio Characteristics of all spatial sound makes them a fail compared to everything you are trying to sell to people. You need to explain this to people so they understand better what is the real problem in those systems. I have EPOS H3 Pro Hybrid They can run Bluetooth, High Freak Dongle , USB cable, or 3.5mm Jack with an analog Signal. Plus, they are a partnership with Sennheiser a true Audiophile company.
The a40s aren't wireless. Even still, your correct about wireless to a degree. In so much as any wired connection is superior to a wireless one, but that doesn't compensate for a poor headset, or I guess a better way of saying is that it's no excuse. The Maxwell's are wireless but blow every main stream "gaming" headset out of the water. Razer, Logitech, steel series, turtle Beach, etc all of their headsets, wired OR wireless don't hold a candle to the Maxwell's that are wireless. So yes, wireless is a conscience that has to make a sacrifice but that does not make up for a poorly designed set being bad. Wireless can still sound excellent if the entirety of the set is designed well. If that makes sense.
I've done Astro A50 headsets, a couple Turtle Beach, EPOS and the mixamp, Steelseries Nova Pro, and I have a Schitt Audio stack with Beyer Dynamic DT1990 Pro's and a boom mic. Gaming headsets do have some decent features for PC gaming, like side-chat, being wireless, having hot-swap batteries, bluetooth support, surround audio processing. Having a decent pair of headphones definitely gives superior audio for sure, but at the cost of some real life convenience. I use my wireless gaming headset chatting on Discord whilst I game, and I use my audiophile kit when I want to just chill and listen to music, or play something single-player. If you want the best of both worlds and you have the budget, do both. Also, its much harder IMO to tell the difference in gaming between a gaming headset and a similarly priced pair of music headphones or studio monitors compared to just doing A B music comparisons.
The Nova Pro's aren't anywhere near as bad as he's making them out to be. I get the feeling that he went into this with a massive bias built up and didn't really give either the A40's or the Nova Pro's a real chance.
I bought the IEM's, and I already knew how crappy headphones/wired-earbuds can be. Usually the left or right burns out in a few weeks. These IEM's are great 👍🏻 thanks
Definitely looking into some IEMs but how does everyone do it when it comes to chatting? Do you all just play solo everyday and not say a single word or?
I have been through a lot of "gaming headsets" over the years..I ended up settling on a set of AKG K612 Pro Open Reference headphones.. great positional audio and enough bass but not too "boomy".
Art i need that IEM video like warzone needs a good anticheat! Im holding off on buying some...when you do it could you also recommend some we can find in the UK as some of those on amazon aren't available here. keep up the great work ❤
KZ ZX 10 PRO are better than my jbl quantum 800 and steel series cans that cost way more. They are very very loud i honestly think they can blow my eardrums. I use them at 16-18% in warzone
Great video learned a lot. The only thing I would respectfully disagree with you is when you talked about ohms. The lower the ohms the less resistance and more responsive, louder and less draw on the power supply to achieve the volume. You were 180 out is all I am saying.
I switched to the Orchestra Lite IEMs after using Astro A40 with Command Center for years, and no amount of software settings compares to the improvement in audio quality I've experienced over the last few months.
Hey @ArtIsWar, do you have any tips/advice you can give for console gamers? Specifically for Xbox, my Dad plays on one and always complains about sound in warzone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
A50s with upgraded ear pads are amazing! Custom EQ for whatever works best for you, can have 3 EQ settings and change them on the fly from the headset can adjust chat and game volume on the fly as well as mic sensitive and more on app, works great on pc and consoles and the new x version is even better. Had mine for 8years and have not felt the need to switch yet
Apple Earpods the wired ones with the 3.5 mm jack has Mic 20$ in bestbuy or 19$ in the apple store i think there awesome for the price and could use them for your phone. used to use them back in the day in my PS4 on BO3 lol
For console I wouldn't bother with IEMs. He recommended the Sennheiser PC38X's and if I was still playing on console, that's what it'd use. Great sound quality, a decent microphone built in, and you can plug it right into the controller. Also if you ever switch to PC it has a separate cable included that has the mic and audio on separate lines.
When I built my rig about 10 years ago (have upgraded since) I got a set of Razer Krakens which I liked but were unfortunately did not last very long and just got a mike and used cheap iem's then I started watching Drop for some nice but not crazy expensive and got a pair of Meze Noir 99's (think they were about $200 the regular ones are 300ish on the Meze site) which also came with both cables and before that I upgraded my mike but it is not a crazy expensive one either think it was around 20 bucks. Highly recommend getting a desk mic and if you really want better sound for music as well then splurge on the headphones, do some research find ones that meet your requirements. Good info, nice vid.
I'm very intrigued with IEM's as well. Would love to see options for mics and being able to adjust game volume and chat volume easily on the fly when using IEM's.
Couldnt agree more. Been a musician for almost 2 decades, and used my old beyers (dt900, bought before the pro x released) and was looking into the sennheiser because they were the only mics i used. Now you have me looking in iems for gaming
This is an audio file!! They think everything they push on RUclips is better...bc they are getting paid to push these products!! My a40s have worked great for years, and no problems at all. We are talking about hearing footsteps and wind, not little ticks in a song no one can hear. Let me just say buy what you want bc at the end of the day, every RUclipsr will push whatever brand pays them.
Audiophile* and Astros are trash. I'm not paid by Sennheiser and I guarantee you if you listened to my 6XX headphones you wouldn't have the opinion you have. I've owned Astro a40s and I thought they were good until I heard some actual good headphones.
No man, he's not lying. Astros are perfectly fine if you just don't give a shit about sand that badly, but even still your over paying for everything he states in the video. The packaging and marketing verbs are what your buying. That's not to say they are garbage on their own, just in comparison to higher quality products. If you love your Astros then that's awesome man, keep using them. The fact that there are objectively better sets out there doesn't diminish your enjoyment of what you have and it's not as though he's calling you stupid for enjoying them either. I've owned so many gaming branded sets over the years and I'm only recently seeing it for what it is. Just like gaming chairs. They are marketed to gamers even though they are inferior to ergonomic chairs but they look cool like a racing seat from a sports car.
It depends on what I'm doing, or if I'm going to be on for an extended period of time but I either wear my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros (cans) or my Shure SE215 Pros. You are 110% correct, gaming headsets are just marketing gimmicks.
My Astro A40s and A50s are incredible. I have had them for a very long time and they were life changing. I use the mix amps with the optical cable and Astro’s built in surround sound feature and it sounds absolutely perfect on every level both for gaming and watching shows and movies all on my consoles. They’re also extremely comfortable so I’ve never once been felt bothered or fatigued at all between my ears or head even after playing all day.
Enjoyed the detailed discussion on audio tools in gaming. I disagree with comfort aspect, head shapes are a thing and the pc38x’s hurt the crown of my head after a while. The “inferior” headsets with cloth suspending the weight are much more comfortable.
I've honestly switched to IEMs earbuds. Simgot EM6L are great for a cheapers price, they go for $150. You can hear the highs and lows very well. But the Linsoul Kiwi are amazing, but they are more right around $250. Honestly this has been a game changer since I play FPS games like mw3.
Gaming Headphones are a SCAM. If you think buying a 250 $ headphones is going to improve your gaming you are wrong. A headphone isn't going to compensate for your lack of aiming, movement, environmental awareness, positioning. Pros at competition wear 50,100$ sponsored headphones and they are doing just fine.
I have the Maxwells and love them but looking to eventually have a separate mic and headphone setup. Would you recommend the DT 900 Pro X over the DT 770 Pro X LE? Mainly wondering since it’s mentioned that 900 Pro X is pretty closed for an open back.
Completely agree. Switched to p38x few years ago. This past year I switched to a standalone mic so I upgraded a bit to some sennhieser 6xx headphones. Been loving them

I’ve bought hyper x headsets simply for comfort feel, I can wear them for hours without noticing them. I stopped here to learn about quality comparisons, haven’t delved down this rabbit hole yet, what are your thoughts on the audeeze gaming headset? Is it marketing fluff, or are planar drivers worth the cost?
Had the Sennheiser GSP 670 for 3 yrs and was the boss on csgo and cs2, footsteps were easily heard and in what direction, shame they ended up getting distortion issues later down the line. Now ive the Audeze and it's the best so far (had it for 6 months ).
I’m a headphone audiophile. I’ve tried my £4k Audeze LCD-4 for gaming and they were terrible. Wireless corsair gaming headphones were also terrible. The Astro A40 Tr with the Mixamp and my custom mix are the best gaming units I’ve heard. Can hear footsteps in Apex across the map! It’s all about the Mixamp.
I own nova pros and have 0 issues. The lack of reviews on amazon on these that ur recommending just proves that u are just getting paid to do this wether you admit it or not lmao.
My wife bought me a $60 RIG800 headset back 8 years ago maybe. I bought 250$ title beach, sent back. I bought A40, sent it back. Went back to using my Rig’s and haven’t looked back
Honestly I think the major issue gaming headsets have is they took what was amazing (in the gaming space) 10 years ago and never truly improved upon it. They made up a bunch of cheap non-features for marketing purposes and never really improved on audio. Most of them probably buy 5 cent mass produced audio drivers from China and call it a day.
I bought 2 pairs of Pc38x when they launched and have never used the second set. They truly are great for gaming with a huge sound stage and great accuracy. If you want booming bass out of a console you'd want to get an Amp/DAC. Apparently Sennheiser is getting out of the gaming market so pick a pair up before they are gone.
Average gamer is apparently spending $200 on headsets... I keeping buying better controllers, keyboards, mouse, GPU, CPU, RAM, Cooling System, and monitor. Oh, and games! But what I really need is $200-$300 headphones, 'cause less than $80 for a TurtleBeach headset won't improve my input lag...

IEMs are great.

@@iamwatchingthisvid.7682 yeah iems definitely the way to go for gaming
What does the mic set up look like tho?
Care to recommend a few? =)

To say that some headsets dont give you anything at all but marketing is a straight lie, but i wont completely knock him for telling you that for gaming headphones, no matter if you spend $300 or more YOU WONT GET AMAZING HIGH QUALITY HOLY SHIT AWESOME SOUND BECAUSE:
1) they are NOT HIGH FIDELITY and specifically calibrated for such a singnal from a game console.

After using DT 900 pro x and kiwi orchestra lite, I kept the OL. OL may sound flat and low bass, the clarity, sound stage and imaging in COD is next level.

Wish I had seen this before I spent 300$ on the SteelSeries. Damn it! lol
They’re still good
The Nova Pro's aren't anywhere near as bad as he's making them out to be. I get the feeling that he went into this with a massive bias built up and didn't really give either the A40's or the Nova Pro's a real chance.

Apple Earpods the wired ones with the 3.5 mm jack has Mic 20$ in bestbuy or 19$ in the apple store i think there awesome for the price and could use them for your phone. used to use them back in the day in my PS4 on BO3 lol
@@panchorancho6274 thank you 🫶🏽
For console I wouldn't bother with IEMs.
If I'm on console and want to use IEMs, what do I use for a microphone to talk to my teammates?
I'm very intrigued with IEM's as well. Would love to see options for mics and being able to adjust game volume and chat volume easily on the fly when using IEM's.
Same here... I don't have a separate mic on my setup :(
I'll add a mention of mic options to the next IEM video! Thanks!
@artiswar When is that iem video coming? Can’t wait
Boom baby! 😍
MY GOAT
Hello Fresh!
@@Phantom1000 yooooo!!
Us console gamers don’t care about this video.
Peasants
He even lists 2 console-capable headsets in this vid too LOL
Keep buying those dumb headsets then!
So I can just connect an iem to my ps5 controller and have it sound better than the astro a50s?
@@thedevilsmentor1482 Depends, id get a 32ohm Dt990 for that
I've honestly switched to IEMs earbuds.
Been loving them
Just came across your channel. I'm not going to lie for you to be fairy new to YT. Your video definitely came in clutch.
Had many problems with A-50 so I went to A-40s two years ago. No issues. Work great.
A50x here. Working flawless with pc, series x and big ass home theater system dtx and pass through. Def other options but I've had them since new. I've had the a50, all gens 3 different ones
I bought some cheap headsets from micro center for $20. Bought it 5 years ago. Still working fine
I have the Moondrop Chu II and for 18$'s they are incredible buy. I use them in the any physical activity because they are cheap and great quality.
I purchased an he400i almost new for 100 with a top notch amplifier of tube and audio decoder. Wowo, you are in the game and you feel the music in a concert of jazz
I‘ve had Astro A10s for like 4-5 years now. They work fine and have good sound and mic quality. Cost me 50 bucks, nowadays you can get them for 40. If they die, I‘ll just get em again😂
B-Stock Hifimann He-4XX can be had direct from Hifimann in new condition for $89.99 and honestly sound great running off my $10 ebay find of the year open box Maonocaster C2 Neo (48v phantom power, 7hr wireless battery,BT in for music etc! just a great budget xlr mixer for streaming).
My wireless "gamer" headset are the $200 msrp JBL 810 Eclipses. I got them off Ebay refurbished for $70 with 2yr warranty and includes the dongle.
