Deciding to not skip the ad for Brittle Bones Nicky 1 years ago after realizing it was actually sort of catchy was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made
I really like how loyal Nicky is to his friends, even to the end, even after they double crossed him. He still jumped on that train even after knowing what Karla did, allowed himself to be framed so she could escape, didn’t blame her for what she did because he knew how terrible her life had been. That’s really nice in a way

No matter the problems he had, the criminal life, the loved ones he has lost (or in this case that betrayed him)...que always choose love instead of hate. He trully knows whats the right thing to do, and don´t doubt about it at all.

I really hope 4 expands more on Nicky's afterlife because at this point we're getting into major spoiler territory for the movie and I kinda wanna know why Hank is excited to see him since, as far as I am aware, Nicky was just another passenger to him

The fact that Nicky has been through so much shit because of Karla yet he still doesn’t regret getting framed for it really proves that as long as Nicky considers you a friend he won’t regret whatever you do even if you backstab him he’s still loyal to the end. Gotta admire that guy.

The cardinal showing up several times in this is amazing! I don’t know if it’s in the others but the symbolism is killing me. Cardinals are said to be loved ones coming back to watch over you, so in a story like this about Nicki’s ghost it holds so much weight! Amazing as always.

It's either Shifty, or Nicky's ghost himself from the future. We've already seen that he was sent back in time to care for his mother, and he was there when Nicky himself went against Satan. He maybe took care of himself throughout his life.

I think this is my favorite one had a song that brought you in and the animation that hooked you two wasn’t a huge fan of the animation in purgatory with god but other than that everything was great but this one absolutely nails everything and give us more information on Nicky’s life it’s absolute perfection

Every installment into Nicky’s life has been a treat to watch/listen to. I’ll never forget hearing Brittle Bones Nicky 2 for the first time and going “hold on I gotta listen to the first one” I’ve been an RA fan ever since

I think Karla abandoning him last minute is honestly a very real moment, someone who's been that screwed over by trusting somebody as a child wouldn't exactly be eager to run away with another person so soon the second after being freed, love or not. I really can't blame her too much I also love that Nicky doesn't regret it even if it broke his heart. He still cares about her and he still saved her from a horrible abusive situation. It kinda makes me think that Nicky saw the Circus as a sort of 'heaven' that he was excited to be at! Either that, or the whole thing God did with tricking Nicky and turning out to also be Satan could be represented there as a 'circus trick'
I love how Nicky doesn’t seem to regret helping Karla, and is just heartbroken, he doesn’t obviously let this betrayal stop him from saving others (specifically Ben) later on! The chorus saying Nicky would do it even if its tricky, fail, and the end calling him “Not so crafty or tricky” is so cool. Especially when its wrong compared to the rest of his story

@@Rmsdxdkskxelfm In the first song of the trilogy he said he was twenty one when he got caught by the cops so it is close to when he did get sent to jail here, and I believe it was implied that he was old when he left jail and that he stayed there for years. It’s possible that in this case the line meant that he was in and out of jail for a time. Good catch about the age thing though.

It’s cool to see more of Nicky’s life when he was younger especially after he had grown up a bit, he’s not completely put together but he’s clearly more mature then he was when he was a kid/teen

@@RareAmericans I also draw on my side, I'm not a pro but honestly, the person who animates the series keeps improving a lot. I really admire the lighting, the colors, the bodies, movements, emotions, backgrounds, etc. It's really difficult to draw music due to the rhythms and stuff but the person doing it all killed it. And you too, the music is fire, listening to it everyday. Literally, I screamed at my friends when I got the notification of the song and they all screamed back all happy and stuff. That song is a legend.
So, here's my understanding of Nicky's story so far: Nicky was a foster kid who met a teenager named Shifty. They did the criminal life together until one day Shifty got killed (apparently because of Nicky) and Nicky did 4 years jail time. He gets out at 20 years old, has his stint in the circus, then gets into the criminal life again at 21. He gets arrested during a drug bust and gets sent to prison again where he meets and befriends a man named Ben. He lives out the majority of his remaining life in prison before dying of old age and getting sent to hell. In hell, a creature (an imp?) named Hank acts as his guide. He sees his mother and Ben in the afterlife, and so to be with his mother again and avoid hell, Nicky makes a deal with God to torment the living on his behalf. Now, Nicky has used his power to bust Ben and Hank out of hell in preparation for Brittle Bones Nicky 4.

Nicky is such an endearing and genuinely heroic character. The deepest core of his character is that no matter how terrible the odds are, and even if there's a chance he'll get completely screwed in the end by that same person, he'll never regret saving his only friend in need. Karla betraying him broke his heart, but he'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's just who he is.
I cannot wait for the 4th one. I've been waiting for the third one for quite a bit but I remember like four years ago I found your guys Spotify and I listened to a few songs and absolutely fell in love. Please keep up the good work.
You know, I don't know if anyone else mentioned this but from 1:14 to 1:20 when the announcer said "Step right up Nicky, step right up! Welcome to the Circus!!" It's most likely a reference to brittle bones Nickey 2 when the angel skeleton said "Welcome, Welcome Nicky! Welcome to Heaven!!" and I think that's fucking amazing holy shit.

The cardinal showing up several times in this is amazing! I don’t know if it’s in the others but the symbolism is killing me. Cardinals are said to be loved ones coming back to watch over you, so in a story like this about Nicki’s ghost it holds so much weight! Amazing as always.
If that's The case could the Cardinal be His mom's spirit? I know we see her in Hell But, that would make sense why it stuck around him.

It's either Shifty, or Nicky's ghost himself from the future. We've already seen that he was sent back in time to care for his mother, and he was there when Nicky himself went against Satan. He maybe took care of himself throughout his life.

I love how Nicky doesn’t seem to regret helping Karla, and is just heartbroken, he doesn’t obviously let this betrayal stop him from saving others (specifically Ben) later on! Tbh I can see where he’s coming from personally, when you feel like you have no one to look out for you, you can very well try and always look out for others bc you know what it feels like to be in their shoes

@@Rmsdxdkskxelfm In the first song of the trilogy he said he was twenty one when he got caught by the cops so it is close to when he did get sent to jail here, and I believe it was implied that he was old when he left jail and that he stayed there for years. It’s possible that in this case the line meant that he was in and out of jail for a time. Good catch about the age thing though.

@@RareAmericans I also draw on my side, I'm not a pro but honestly, the person who animates the series keeps improving a lot. I really admire the lighting, the colors, the bodies, movements, emotions, backgrounds, etc. It's really difficult to draw music due to the rhythms and stuff but the person doing it all killed it. And you too, the music is fire, listening to it everyday. Literally, I screamed at my friends when I got the notification of the song and they all screamed back all happy and stuff. That song is a legend.
The Brittle Bone Nicky story is truly something im happy developed this far cant wait for what's next
So, here's my understanding of Nicky's story so far:
Nicky was a foster kid who met a teenager named Shifty. They did the criminal life together until one day Shifty got killed (apparently because of Nicky) and Nicky did 4 years jail time.
He gets out at 20 years old, has his stint in the circus, then gets into the criminal life again at 21. He gets arrested during a drug bust and gets sent to prison again where he meets and befriends a man named Ben.
He lives out the majority of his remaining life in prison before dying of old age and getting sent to hell. In hell, a creature (an imp?) named Hank acts as his guide. He sees his mother and Ben in the afterlife, and so to be with his mother again and avoid hell, Nicky makes a deal with God to torment the living on his behalf.
Now, Nicky has used his power to bust Ben and Hank out of hell in preparation for Brittle Bones Nicky 4.
It's prob metaphoric, but he kills death at the beginning of this vid.

Nicky's tenacity to follow through and trudge his own path in spite of all the shit in his life has really inspired me to push forward in my own life.

Nicky is such an endearing and genuinely heroic character. The deepest core of his character is that no matter how terrible the odds are, and even if there's a chance he'll get completely screwed in the end by that same person, he'll never regret saving his only friend in need. Karla betraying him broke his heart, but he'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's just who he is.
I cannot wait for the 4th one. I've been waiting for the third one for quite a bit but I remember like four years ago I found your guys Spotify and I listened to a few songs and absolutely fell in love. Please keep up the good work.
