Nice tips Jason. I accidentally bred some Pseudomugil furcatus in my tank. Raised them up in a separate tank all okay. Couldn’t keep up with all the fry so brought a Betta and he now hunts the fry down. I’ll pull him out when I am ready to raise some more rainbows 😊
Kinda cruel could u not just give the fry away or at least take out the best looking fry or something.

Green water is really good to start fry on, and having em in an old tank.
I just brought home some Boesemani Rainbows a couple of weeks ago, so this is great timing. Looking forward to the video about rasing the fry!

I 've never used a spawning mop. I just put a pair of Boesemani's into a planted breeding tank and pull the them out again after a week or so. Within a couple of days you will see baby's in the breeding tank.

Hey Jason how do collect your rain water for your aquariums
I catch it in a big tub as run off from my roof then run it through filter floss to get any debris out. I usually throw the first 10 gallons out if it has not rained in awhile

Psuedomugils are bred the same way.

Will snails - Ramshorn or Malaysian Trumpets - eat the eggs? I put them in a separate tank but they disappear.
Yes I have seen them eat eggs
Papua New Guinea - Just avoid the headhunters - no kidding - cannibalism wasn’t discouraged until after WWII.
Speaking of spawning mops, even without one, I managed to get two White Cloud fry. Yes, I’m making a spawning mop this week!
