    My first week on elogs, and you are right. Run your ass off, stay dehydrated, and don't stop. The days of stopping and exercising for 30 minutes and stretching my legs are gone.

      Stay hydrated. It only takes 5min to pull in a rest area and tinkle. Instead of walking though, do somersaults or cartwheels to and from the truck. If theirs large enough trees around I sometimes climb a tree and jump from tree top to tree top. What I'm doing is turning something I need to anyway into excercise. When I pre trip my truck, I go like a spaz, sumtimez I even shout, I check absalultly everything, not just the minimum go thru the motions stuff. It's not excactly raising my heart rate for 20min but I can do that when a masterbate later in the day. During my 30 min break I usually sit in the same seat I drive in all day and look out the window at all the people moping around. On my dot break I usually watch tv for a few hrs then eat, fart, possibly rub another one out and turn in. I shower once a week, no more no less.

    I've run 550 miles in a day with one fuel stop (fuel stop not my choosing) which combined my 30 minute break. Then later on I made two brief piss stops at rest areas. The key is stopping at rest areas instead of truck stops. You can get in and out much quicker. Easy to do during the day. I did this never going over 58MPH. It was experimental. To boot I had five interchanges to negotiate, and I take them slowly. At the end of the day I still had 47 minutes left of drive time. If I were an owner operator I could do that 6 days a week, take 5 days off for home time each month, make a $2,600.00 truck payment, insurance, and fund my tire-maintenance account. All said and done I'd gross six figures in today's trucking industry. The issue of being afraid of E-Logs is a notion breed by fear of actually having to spend money on them and being caught with no time left. I get it, but you can make money as an O/O spending every day just as I described.
    This is actually a rebuttal to this video without insult.

    Run hard, I respect that you had the balls to show how dispatchers don't care about their drivers. That's amazing. Most people would be scared of losing their job and being blacklisted for recording a company conversation without notifying the other party. Kudos to you. I would have personally turned down that load. Knowing I can't drive without sleep. Anyway, you are correct. Keeping your ass in that seat for 8-10 hours a day will make you money. I run 1250 miles every two days on e-logs if the miles are available. The only problem I have is with the potential money I'm losing while sitting and waiting to be loaded or unloaded. But that's the nature of the business. I make my lunch before I leave in the morning. I piss in a bottle and time my 30 minute breaks for fuel stops and shits. Real simple. DO NOT STOP THAT TRUCK. Easy. You stop when you get home time.

    I came off the road in Jan 2012 right when more companies were changing over to E-Logs. By default, E-Logs don't allow you to run as many miles as paper logs. For you to be able to run huge miles on E-Logs, your dispatcher needs to have all logistics in perfect order regarding your run-this includes their relationship with that shipper. I was still able to run 2800-2900 mi in 5days on these E-Logs only because the logistics were right and I made sure I did thorough Pre-Trips daily to catch anything that could go wrong with the truck. Also my dispatcher made sure my truck was no more than 3 years old and Not an International Pro-Star.

    Why would you stop for a 30 minute break between 3 and 8 hours? Any thing before 5 1/2 hours you will have to take another one. Unless you are talking about just straight driving your 11, which wouldn't apply to all drivers.
    You better be getting an early start if you think you're gonna roll into a truck stop and get a spot with no problems.
    You also better be checking traffic to make sure there are no slow downs ahead.

  • @Tstatex
    @Tstatex 9 лет назад +10

    Yah that might be good on long runs like your on. Try getting live unloaded the drive hundred miles to get live loaded and see how much time you have left. See not everyone is drop and hook out here. Not everyone gets the long miles every day. That 680 something miles you did is nothing when you just drive. Step in the ring with the big boys out here that don't just drop one trailer and pick up another one. Then make a video on how many miles you get in a week, not in a day.

    • @justinjacobs5288
      @justinjacobs5288 6 лет назад +1

      Tstatex I know that's right driver, tell him again. Elogs definitely doesn't work for us in the agriculture field. We're on them right now and I have lost 900 to a 1000 miles every week. We live load at every stop. And that clock doesn't stop. He talking about just drive give me a freaking break.

    • @Arizona_Vineyard
      @Arizona_Vineyard 3 года назад

      I’m in flatbed. One day is spent untarping and taking chains and straps off. Then we get unloaded. To get loaded we do live loads then chain or strap then tarp again. That’s half the day

  • @ricicon6169

    Peeing in a bucket saves lots of time, the value of my post is the mix I use so it does not smell.
    My bucket has a cover and I use Vinegar that has soaked in Citrus peel for a few weeks.
    With 2-3 inch of water at the bottom of bucket, spray the inside of bucket with vinegar mixture, and the surface of water heavily. Rinse once a day or every couple days, depending on usage.
    This information can be highly valuable to many people who need to go often and don't want to stop the truck. No need to deal with nasty pee bucket.
    Many women go to the bathroom much more often than man, mostly in the morning, if I stop the truck every time I have to go, we lose lots of time and not to mention wear and tear on your breaks and waste of fuel for every stop and go

  • @albtaulant
    @albtaulant 5 лет назад +3

    The truck drivers can work legally 14 hours a day.
    That's more than enough for a normal person.
    If my job was going to be efficient I don't need to work more than 8 hours a day.
    5 hours a day are just a waste for my job.
    Ask these trucking companies to pay you more but don't be stupid to comply about elogs.
    Life is not just driving a truck.

  • @hntinc50
    @hntinc50 9 лет назад +1

    For one you can run outlaw with e-logs, using a simple key board trick. my trucks governed at 70. The farthest Ive gone was 747 miles on one trip. For those who run legal. On paper use have to claim 15 min in comparison to the 5 on elogs. now if you do the math. You save 10 mins each time you do you pti, fuel, post. Now add that number up. witch is 30 min extra a day left on your 70 a day compared to paper. now times that number by 7 days = 210mins or 3.5 hours extra on you 70 that you can legal run. On that note. Running legal you can run harder and farther on elogs than paper. And with a less chance of violation cause by human error. Keep your videos coming.

    Unfortunately, not every trucker out there gets the opportunity to just drive. Unpaid waiting time at shippers/receivers kills miles, and it doesn't help that most of those places hire minimum wage workers that couldn't care less about getting you out on time. Something that would blow some minds is if carriers started paying truckers what they're worth, rather than just trying to skirt by on the bare minimum. You'd think in an industry where if the trucks stop moving, the economy would crash, that keeping drivers happy would be their number one concern.

    Drivers are not machines. WE need to make money and enjoy true freedom on the road the way we use to. Everyone drives different some drive at night some in the day time and others stop and go. Elogs cant tell when a human is sleepy this is why the roads are more dangerous. E logs are forcing drivers to choose money or rest.

    So many of you Truckers are big as hell because all most of you do is sit allday, get out and exercise and eat healthy! If your tired you pull your ass over! Last thing any company or Trooper would like to do is fill out a huge accident report that could’ve been avoided. These days you can run local if you get a good company and make more money OTR and be home every single night in your own bed!

    If you do what you say. You will constantly have to 34 hour resets. You have to run 8 hours 45 minutes a day in order to not run out. That's 8 hours 45 minutes of on duty time. It's very easy to use up all of your time by driving 10 hours a day. I used to do it all the time but my company called me and told me to stop doing resets. I wish what you are saying was true.

    haha... good one! "candy ass" my husband loves elogs. he drives and maximize his clock everyday.
    When I am on truck I have a pee bucket, otherwise I would stop the truck all the time.
    So I don't deal with too much smell, I put my soaked mixture of vinegar & citrus in along with about 2 inch of water. my bucket last a few days without getting horrid.
    I tried everything else before and OH MY GOSH it was stinky. this works!

    • @nasheemwhye5197

      gcNewd your gross not because you pee in a bucket but because you felt a need to actually share that with us 😂

    • @nasheemwhye5197
      @nasheemwhye5197 7 лет назад +1

      gcNewd some information just shouldn't be shared like you being a trifling ass woman I've taken many women with me on the road still made damn good money and they never had to ever piss in a bucket but that's the difference when you own your truck and you work smart and not hard running mile to mile I don't have keep my woman's bladder all ready to burst because I'm not a driver who has to make every mile count that's the difference when you call your own shots something you obviously haven't had the privilege of experiencing Obviously.

    • @nasheemwhye5197
      @nasheemwhye5197 7 лет назад +1

      gcNewd there's nothing of value of pissing in a bucket please tell where's the value in that

    • @gcnewd
      @gcnewd 7 лет назад +1

      Nasheem whye. Wow, you really are an idiot! We own our own truck and I drive it some of the time. Both my husband and I know well how to be efficient with a truck.
      Many women go to the bathroom much more often than man, especially in the morning, if I stop the truck everytime I have to go, we lose lots of time and not to mention wear and tear on your breaks and waste of fuel for every stop and go.
      Peeing in a bucket saves lots of time, the value of my post is the mix I use so it does not smell at all. My bucket has a cover and I use a Vinegar that has soaked in Citrus peel for a few weeks. With 2-3 inch of water at the bottom of bucket, spray the inside of bucket with vinegar mixture, and the surface of water heavily. Rinse once a day or every couple days.
      This information can be highly valuable to many people who need to go often and don't want to stop the truck. No need to deal with nasty pee bucket.

    And this is why you're going
    To start seeing drivers have strokes and heart attacks due to blood clots forming in their legs from driving 8 hours without stopping. I'm not saying stop driving every hour but at least every 3 hours Get out and stretch your legs and walk around for 10-15 mins. But elogs make this nearly impossible and it's going to end up killing people. They should just get rid of the 14 hour rule and have a some sort of split sleeper rule.

    When dispatch is incapable of organizing work properly not taking drivers average mpg speed and comparing available hrs to preplanning loads, then you won't make the miles. If they'll be looking for a load all day getting you loaded and t 10pm and expecting you to drive all night after staying up all day then that will more likely kill someone and not get you the miles.

      I started driving truck hostling trailers at old dominion freight. When they offered to put me through their driving program and i went to portland for the classes before road time it was kinda weird driving forward more than a couple hundred yards in the terminal. But learning in reverse sure comes in handy when i hit a customer with a funky dock or unloading spot. Everybidy shoud hostle a bit before being let loose. It amazes me how many drivers can't back a trailer up
