The idea of paying yourself through a loan while building vs. paying yourself upon completion when you refinance. Good idea.

Very nice job. Some friendly advice from a taxidermist. I would move any mounts away from the fireplace. Fireplace is dry them out and they start to crack.

Looks great. I see forced air for heat and A/C, is there supplemental in-floor heating with the tile in the bathroom and/or kitchen? I have a tile floor behind my bar in the rec room and I installed a heating system, which is great to heat the entire room plus keep your feet toasty warm.

In Idaho, the prices for a log home are much more than this. Wish we could build one for double that price. You can't even buy the kit for the complete build price.

    • @phillipeloghomes

Oh I know, it's crazy some of the prices. Where we live it's low paying jobs so we base our prices off the median income. So it's more affordable

I’m really interested in building my own cabin one someday. How do you guys go about finding land? Or best deals on land to build a cabin? Is there anything in particular that one should look for when looking for land?

    • @phillipeloghomes

You should build a cabin. You will love it. As for land I have a realtor friend who let's me know about land for sale before it hits the market. You definitely want high land with some solid standing trees. What state are you in?
