Off to a solid start on your big house. Very nice to see the heavy timber and joinery in use. Hope to see a basic schematic of the structure at some point(curiosity is all) but can wait to see the stages as you build. Joy is looking great, has grown up well over the winter.

Genuinely trying to understand the first part of your comment. They were already building convention 2x4 frame house in the 50’s. To build a log cabin would have been a choice no different than today.
Hello from Canada, I don’t see many men who actually prep there properly against a possible fire starting on there property or in the bush! Keeping your property clean is a good preventative against starting a fire or one starting in the forest! Many creatures lose their lives in fires in forests , your tools could set a spark flying and there’s your fire. These creatures, the forests are there home and there “FOOD” so Thank-you for keeping your property clean and your tools. You’ve been blessed here !
