Clark Kent: "What did you do?"
Bruce Wayne: "I bought the bank."
Clark: "The whole bank?"
This!!! Fucking finally! Now it's starting to feel like that classic Bruce and Clark relationship!
Alex Love the whole theater legit laughed hard at that moment 😂
Oh, the "George and Gracie" moment. Love that.
I did love that relationship
I loved it too. I hope Ben remains, he’s so good as Batman!
Sups : I thought you bring me back because you like me.
lois: “you smell good”
clark: “did i️ not before?”
lois: “so what was it like being dead all this time?”
clark: “itchy”
- joss whedon
I know right😤
Whedon, no doubt.
Andy Boyanton
Do you know how Clark smelt before? No?! Do you know what it's like to be dead? No?!! Then shut the f**k up!
Tornado Chaser aww. somebody is salty
sidearmzh
I ate sweet popcorn while watching this movie, so I am sugary, not salty! Try again troll!
WOW. They didn't mention the part when Aquaman was sitting on the Lasso of Truth. One of my favorite scenes!!!
Hahaha ... Yeah that was cool
I still think Batman is the real leader of the JL.
Superman and Wonder Woman lead more by example.
Best part. When Flash sees Superman can see him
The lasso of truth on aquaman was probably my favorite non-action scene. Hilarious and nice to see Arthur open up a bit.
Mak25 my favorite snene of all time I think, I couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes, and I was laughing so hard before everyone realized that he was under the lasso influence, made it even for me
My fav scene was the "oh shit" face Flash made when he realized Superman could see him. I lawled out loud at that.
Cyborg: "I've heard about you. Didn't think you were real."
Batman: "I'm real when it's useful."
Cannot believe they cut my favorite line from the trailers. And some of the alternate lines were the wrong choice IMO. Batman saying "My turn" is so much better than "Sorry guys. I didn't bring a sword."
Fucking Whedon. The movie definitely didn't have that Snyder vibe, but it's still a good movie 7.5/10. THOSE TWO CREDITS THOUGH xD and :O!!!!
Hrag Farra, Deathstroke!!!!!!!!! Soooo good!
I'm actually glad they cut it. If Victor lived in Gotham that long (his childhood and whole teenage life) and Batman was active in Gotham (which he was) why would he think he wasn't real? It's not like he's an urban legend. Why would GCPD have a freakin signal on its roof if he wasn't real. A cool line, just without a sound logic behind it.
Josh Tanner, actually, it would've made sense since it's established in BvS that he's still kind of a myth to some. That's why some call him "the Gotham bat". Snyder even confirmed this while promoting BvS.
Alex Love feels like a lot of it was reshot
if a justice league movie was 4 HOURS I WOULD PAY DOUBLE THE MONEY TO GO WATCH IT
yup snyders 2 hour 45 minute cut would have made more money and been like an 80 on rotten tomatoes
Hallelujah!
HOLY SHt
U CAME FROM THE FUTURE
Howd you like the cut?
I prefer the dark gritty tone...
Cherry Stone exactly
Yep!
SUPES seeing flash run and stopping him was so epic and glorious
Mak25 Yeah, when his eye starts tracking him, and the looks on the Flash's face. It gave me chills.
It made me lawl out loud. I loved that scene...
Mak25
Agreed
A SOLID (and manly) YELP WAS HEARD IN THE THEATER TODAY. RIDICULOUS.
Mak25 , Awesome Fucking Scene.
My fav line from BvS: "Tell me. Do you bleed?"
My fav line from JL: "Tell me. Do you bleed?"
That Superman vs the League fight was the best part for me.
Paragjyoti Saikia dude that was intense, true the best scene I wasn't get to much attention to the storyline but I can't forget all sup scenes because it was the best 😂😂 world need superman
Paragjyoti Saikia that scene would have been so much better for me if the cgi wasn’t so obvious. It hurt me to constantly get pulled out of the movie because of it.
Superman 20 seconds confused is WAY BETTER VILLAIN than Steppenwolf in a whole movie.
Millicente dude I was like wtf this is box office movie that everyone hype about it but the execution be like amateur movie done by teenagers very disappointed.
Víctor Montero I'd like to see more than 20 sec of superman villain, I was think it would have been better if Stephenwolf were the one that bring superman back alive and team up to mess with the world and then at the end Louis and marta show up after all JL fucked up just to bring his memories back then kick the shit out of Stephenwolf like it was nothing 😂😂😂 unleashed superman no more holding back.
Still watching in 2020, R.I.P. Jon Schnepp
The cgi in the opening scene.. oh my God. CGI Henry Cavill face
producedproductions Exactly! IT was ridiculous looking!
producedproductions and at the end when he races flash. Also stepphenwolf period
producedproductions just his top lip.
SupermanKelly™ they made stupid CGI butt chin too! It looks so unbelievably bad.
OHHHH I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE ... I GOT REALLY WORRIED HE WOULD LOOK LIKE THAT THROUGHOUT THE MOVIE
Deathstroke post credit just made me getting so much hype for his solo movie... His appearance is badass
And based by arkham games
His costume looked great.
The dialogue between Clark and Lois after he came back was atrocious.
Lois-“What was it like to come back?”
Clark-“Itchy.”
Me-“.......”
Lois-“You smell nice.”
Clark-“Did I not before?”
Me-“............the fuck is this?”
Those lines were a little odd. Itchy was not what I thought I was gonna hear lol
Clarks brain was still scrambled it was comedy
I didn't mind that bit of dialogue too much.
Sean Nicholson
I get that. It was bad comedy.
I felt the "smell nice" part was kinda cute but the rest, I agree, was atrocious .
Did anyone else notice Jimmy Olsen from original Richard Donner Superman film as the jail guard in flash scene. 😊
NO!!! OMG, that's amazing. Thank you so much for sharing, EagleEye!!!
Jesus you ...You’re a real life superhero..#LEGEND 👊🏻
That's actually a reshoot, he was originally in the Supes vs League scene when Cyborg says "You should probably step back"
@@nicholasbintner4677 yeah I was aware of that I was just calling out the scene used.
RIP Schnepp
So the movie just completely ignores the soil raising up into the air above Clarks coffin at the end of BvS?
Yes, that bothered me a bit too.
it ignores a lot . this is pretty much an entire reboot
Yeah maybe that's the one thing from BvS they should have kept. Could have been better than the creepy grave robbing thing.
HarpoSpoke "Lois is the key". And she was the secret weapon to bring hin back. Perfect callback.
all the callbacks to BvS is fantastic here is conflict between the characters which was so gripping. Bruce and Diana verbally jabbing each other from the effects of BvS. It feels very much like Alien Covenant where the call backs to Prometheus had some of the interesting stuff here
That second post credit scene totally vindicated Zac Snyder's casting choice for Lex. I'm starting to think that DC/WB are playing the long game here, and I'm all in for it.
I really hope you're right because I also think the same thing
As much I liked the score of Danny Elfman, I wished they used the Man of Steel score for Superman when he was resurrected.
EASTER EGG: Harloff says "Break It Down" while wearing a SchomeDown DX hoodie....lol
Think you can tell us what to do? Think you can tell us what to wear? You better get ready... To bow to the masters...
Cyborg at the very end getting his actual comic book suit was so dope
I burst out laughing out loud when The Flash reacted to Superman turning his head
Team Firaga
Funny thing is that in the comics they raced too, and Flash blows Superman out of the water.
Flash is sooo much faster than Superman, but I give it a pass because this is a younger Barry who probably hasn't completely developed his powers and Clark's speed did catch him by surprise.
Xohetzal Its also canon that the flash suffer of premature ejaculation
Ezra Miller runs funny, that is all.
We totally agree on that one!
Yeah, what was up with that? Have they not watched the CW show? That’s how you run. Did Joss direct those scenes or did Zack?
Made me laugh when I saw him running at the end of the film.
This movie was fine. It was OK. As a huge fan of the Zack Snyder films, including Watchmen, Man of Steel and the extended version of Batman versus Superman, I found this one entertaining, but dumbed down with too much forced humor. It was fast-paced and entertaining but reeked of studio interference. Some of the humour was cringe worthy, and a lot of the scenes I enjoyed from the trailers were cut from the movie. I really wish we could see what Zack Snyder had originally envisioned. It’s too bad that Warner Bros. buckled to the complaints from the mainstream audience and the segment of the DC fans that wanted more Marvel-esque movies.
I will say that Steppenwolf was fine as a villain though. I didn’t have any problems with him. I thought he was actually one of the stronger points of the movie.
JL has managed to make me appreciate BvS extended edition much more now. Going from complex themes and conflicts of ideals between batman vs superman, the socio political climate changing and criticisms against heroism, aliens and vigilantism, and the great manipulation tactics and God complex of Lex Luthor, to... The simplistic and cliche "get the team together to fight the big bad guy, heroes win yay", just feels like a major disservice to what Snyder's vision was. He was creating what felt like a TV series in film format.
Light hearted moment and comedy are not exclusive to Marvel.
shanks17 that wasn’t what I was trying to imply, and it’s not a shot at Marvel, but the two styles are typically contrasted, and while Marvel’s style works well for Marvel, I don’t think that style suits the DC characters as well. To me, this movie was butchered to try to capture some of the Marvel box office magic, and I think that did a disservice to the film, the characters and Zack Snyder.
Paul P I totally disagree. Snyder is great at creating moments and visual set pieces but as a director, he just doesn't have it. Most of the scenes from his part of this film and bvs have no connection, some of the cinematography is shoddy, a lot of the cgi is obvious, and once again they fight the big bad in some mostly abandoned city with no real consequences. I think Snyder is very talented with visuals but I'd much rather have someone else direct and create the story. With that being said, I liked justice league ALOT and I think they are headed in the right direction, they can tone it down on the jokes a tad but it is definitely needed and welcome. My last gripe is how they played batman in this film, he was utterly useless haha
I thought the movie was cool...wasn’t fantastic, wasn’t awful. I was into it. Gal is beyond words beautiful. I give it 7 outta 10 blunts.
Jonny Rager here brother, feel the same
SCHNEPPY GETTING SWEATY!
>_< not allowing other people to talk tho...
I call it "being a whiny fanboy bitch".
The Amazons against stepphenwolf on themascira at the beginning was just too cool!! and we FINALLY got our superman we deserved he acc smiled for once...
The CGI was really bad at times...
I absolutely *LOVED* Superman in this movie. You finally *SAW* the *TRUE* SUPERMAN , the hidden potential that Henry cavil unleashed - the Superman he was meant to portray. I definitely see Henry being Christopher reeves proteage.
My favourite scene was when Wonder Woman, Aquaman & Cyborg held Superman down while the Flash was circling behind him. He slowly tilt his eyes and head sideways looking at Flash in slow mo and Flash”s surprised expression was hilarious!
My theatre *busted out in laughter*
Despite all the new characters if I could pick one character to have a film right now after Justice League it would be Superman funny enough. This is a Superman I think EVERYONE would want to watch in a solo film. It's a pity we won't get one for a long time.
Bruh when he saw the flash running people where going nuts lol.
By far the best scene of the movie Imo
Darth Lehnsherr can’t wait for the extended cut! :)
What are you talking about?Superman was horrible in this movie.I hated this movie in general because of the jokes and the lighthearted tone.If I want to see a comedy I go watch a Marvel movie, but if I want to watch a serious movie that I will actually remember I see a DC movie. This was not a DC movie though, this was WB trying to be like marvel
lol can someone tell Mark Reilly he's wearing a Super Boy shirt not superman shirt
masterslasher187 lmao.
masterslasher187
Correct
I thought steppenwolf was pretty bad ass. He was kicking everybody ass except superman. I feel like he was dumb down for the heroes. This whole movie was about the heroes so the villain had to suffer.
When Harloff talked about the scene with Bruce talking to Alfred and saying," He is more human than me, he grew up on a farm, worked, had a daily life, etc... " I loved that moment it was awesome. That is what Superman is, he doesn't have to work but he does and he lives like a human.
When Harloff mentioned Bruce saying "He is more human than I am..." it brings back to a specific Justice League Animated Series episode "Hereafter" where Superman died but in actuality got transported to a potential apocalyptic future where he befriends Vandal Savage. Then the episode shifts to the present time where Bruce goes to the memorial site and pays his respect to Clark telling him how much he respects him even though they had different views about justice and the fact that Clark showed Bruce that Justice doesn't have to come from the darkness.
LOVED that episode, I legit wanted to rewatch the series after watching the movie (although I rewtched it just a year ago lol) but they took it off Netflix :(
One of my favorite moments was with Batman using Kalibak's own weight against him as he flipped him by throwing him to a car. Also Brad Garrett's Lobo from Superman The Animated Series helping out the team was hilarious. The future storyline with Phil Morris' Vandal Savage and George Newburn's Superman was touching.
Best scene in that episode.....it basically summed up the relationship btw Bruce and Clark.
Raghu Seetharaman Yea that's one thing about Chris Terrio.....so far in his DC efforts u can question some of his writing choices but he does some outstanding screenplay. The lines of dialogue are OUTSTANDING
one of my fav episodes of the cartoon! legit cried with that scene with Bruce :P
Not gonna lie I expected to hate this movie. I didn’t even pay for my ticket but after watching the film I absolutely loved it. I’m gonna see it again and actually pay this time
silvermazed90 k
The one part that got me emotionally wasn’t the Clark and Lois reunion, it was when he reunited with his mom that got me.
Great thoughts all around! I'm in Yodi's boat as far as the return of Supes goes, maybe there was more that they shot that might have had the Black Suit, which I was VERY much hoping for, but they had to cut it down to 2 hours. So maybe, hopefully, we'll see some of that later in an extended cut. One thing I thought of was, in the vein of setting up the individual future films, I think the BvS callback from Flash saying "Lois is the key!" is a kind of red herring. It's easy to make that connection, but if they're going with Flashpoint for his solo flick, I think there will be another instance in that Flash picture that will require him to go back to that BvS moment, because it seemed as though he didn't know that he COULD go that fast yet, even though he briefly mentioned it as a possibility after Bruce recruits Barry. Man I hope that made sense. Keep up the good work guys!
Cyborg: “BOOYAH”
Me: *jumps out of my seat*
I didn't enjoy much in JL but Cyborg was great.
I was also praying that he would say booyah
It didn't feel earned but man, I did love hearing that line. Lol
The thing that threw me way off was Ezra Miller's run. The way he ran was silly.
Trey Cooper Reminded me of the Justice League Animated Series, that style of running. I dug it.
Paul Brooks it was laughable
Jedi Bean it was dumb... he ran crazy... especially when he wanted to shock the mother box
I thought it was odd looking, but he's also not a professional runner of any sort, just a guy who is doing his best to move at the speeds he is capable of. I'd be interested in someone doing the science of how you'd have to move when running at that sort of speed.
I'm from 2019. Superman and Batman are Mia. No sequel. And the future of dc is uncertain
I'm from 2020. Hallelujah!
@@KryptonCaged I'm from 2021 8 more days!!!!!
Sorry guys, but I'll never buy Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. It's just not gonna happen.
I feel like there is footage of Henry Cavill in the black suit that got cut.
So what the hell was the dirt moving on the coffin in BVS if it had nothing to with his ressurection
Jacob Bastian did he look decompose when removed from his coffin
They said his cells never die. So he truly never died
I thought he looked pale and withered, similar to how he did in space. But it was shot from a distance, so it was hard to tell. But his skin was certainly intact.
It was suppose to be a 2 part Justice League movie with Steppenwolf and Darkseid. A bunch of things changed they made it one, and had to change so many things because it. Superman's entire resurrection was different. HE DID HAVE A BLACK SUIT AND A MULLET!!!! I hope when the blueray comes out they at least talk about it.
Have any of you watched any of the fan cuts? They integrate some of the missing scenes real nicely.
I couldn't tell from the way they shot it but was Aquaman flying underwater or swimming? I didn't see any feet kicking. I don't think I saw any other kind of locomotion. Does he just fly through the currents?
I feel Ezra Miller's Flash brought back to Michael Rosenbaum's Wally West Flash from Justice League the Animated Series when I saw the promos.
The whole movie felt like the animated movies to me .. I liked it
Don’t tell me that you’ve only seen the animated and then ”ooh Wally is the funny flash!” Barry has his moments too
HAKO no I been reading the comics for almost 25 years ..although I enjoyed Ezra's performance I loved Superman ..actually the whole cast was good.. The movie was simple . I liked it , it felt like the animated movies .. that's his opinion..don't tell me your one of these new generation people who judge others opinions ...wait I forgot opinions are obsolete , they only have to be one way or another.. if so ...oh well ..
Steven View Agreed it did feel like the animated movies
Steven View In a good way and a bad way
I felt like the Bruce Wayne (not Batman) in this film was weaker. He's not the physically imposing Bruce Wayne with piercing eyes and supreme intellect in JL.
Captain Obvious
He's only a man. The parademons are a lot stronger than humans, even beefed up ones like Batman. It's not like he can take on Steppenwolf either, he has to take a physical backseat for these things.
The Bat still had good fight scenes though, despite his limitations. Good film overall.
I wasn't talking about physical strength bro.
He"ll come around, probably still blaming himself for Super Man's death.
They made him stand up comedy Batman, because of all the cry babies on the internet. You reep what you saw. Fuck those cringy one liner Batman and Superman. Fuck WB! Fuck Wheadon!!!
I'm kinda glad they took a backseat on Batman. He's always a Batgod that overshadows the Leaguers in the comics. If they want this film to be successful than they have to give focus to the rest of the heroes and moments for them to shine. They still gave Batman a proper role as team leader so there's no need to complain.
Why does the score get so much praise? Danny elfman is the symbol of WB's incoherency
Batman and superman allready were given new fantastic scores by Hans Zimmer. The fact that they hired danny elfman just to bring back the old scores was lazy and disrespectfull.
The old batman theme was great, but that was anothee film, another batman, another characther alltogether
Same with superman.
This just goes to show confused they are about which direction they should be going.
Can someone clarify something for me was it Zues in that battle or the old Shazam ? Ive heard different opinions
showing them literally digging up superman's grave was so unnecessary.
I will be sad if affleck leaves
Jacob Bastian we all will be brother
Flash finally got his fist bump from Cyborg in the end lol..... Pet Cemetery lol
he also predicted the release of a 3.5hr justice league movie wow
Schnepp is legend
I don't care what any review says, i loved the movie, yeah it had faults but 1. due to the head of WB forcing them to cut to under 2hrs, 2. Reshoots being so close to release, not enough time for anyone to finish VFX. 3. Villain isn't as bad as everyone says, besides its about the league getting together, you don't want an amazing villain to distract from how good the cast are together.
Drewbles seriously I don't know what people expect from a villain. I think they expect too much. I liked Steppen wolf
Exactly his not amazing but i think if they kept the Darkseid stuff and maybe have him at the end when he returns with the para demons all over him, having a go at him for failing. Think some of the deleted scenes might have more details on him as well, what do people expect when WB orders a nearly 3hr film be cut to under 2hrs, somethings gotta go.
Drewbles As far as I am concerned the longer the cut the better. I never did like losing any scenes that added to or improved the flow of the narrative.
Same here. ZS wanted us to have a longer MOS, he wanted us to have a 4hr BvS movie (originally it was in talks to be split it was that long), SS was praised for how good it was when it was viewed by FANS, then WB decided to redit the entire film, huge scenes taken out completely, even Jared Leto was shocked at how much footage was left out. Now the same with JL, pretty much an hour missing, any extended edition on bluray won't be ZS vision, it'll just be the stuff JW cut to get it under 2hrs from his 2 30min cut
I'm at the 38 minute mark so my apologies if they bring this up but Martha actually did explain the whole mother-in-law thing. Right after she says it she's like "Not that I was your..." kinda awkwardly
I don't even get the whole point of wonder woman opposing the resurrection of Superman. They had no chance against steppenwolf as they were, not even close. So it was either revive Superman or jjust wait and died after putting up some futile resistance.
The run time and cut scenes I was looking forward too was the biggest bummer for me next to missed opportunities like Riley and Schnepp both mentioned with Darkseid and Superman’s lore. It’s such a fun film though and it was the same feeling I had when I first seen avengers together for the first time. Being a fan of DC lore I will rate it overall 7/10, but it is a blast to watch in theater and I find it hard to believe, not matter how low you score it , that it wasn’t at least a good time at the theater.
"God I hope this is east..."
The racing scene between superman & flash reminds me of the race in supermen and flash in Smallville!
Ammar Nemo That was epic! On foot Supes has no chance but fligh he can keep up :p
We also did a spoiler review and read the RT critics reviews on the show. It's crazy how jaded some of these critics are.
Genuinely didn't notice the moustache at all.
cyborg stole this movie for me!
I was happy with cyborg. I felt like he wasn't getting any love from reviews. everybody was talking about flash and aquaman
He didn't steal it for me, but was a lot better than I was expecting.
Yup. I'm now a Cyborg fan! More please!
cyborg was perfect. you can just tell Ray was born for this role.
yeah I'm glad that he was more than Tech support
God I love Mike Kalinowski, he's so passionate about DC like me, it's so good to see a grown up not afraid to cry because a movie that he really wanted to like turned up to be good. I really want him to have a RUclips channel
Martin Vergara he has a channel, he does DC Movie News every week I believe
LOVED this review. You talked the highs, the lows & everything in between with class, passion & respect. Good stuff! 🖤
Mike Kalinowski was an amazing addition to the panel 💚 Plz have him more if possible loved his opinions !!
Just came back from seeing it. Only complaint I had was i wish it was 3 hours..
I wish it never ended.
It would have been awesome to hear that the two kids in the movie had the names Windy & Marvin!
Danny Elfman is one of my top 5 musical composers. As a gamer, one of my favourite scores from him is actually the original theme for the first Fable game. His music always hits the mark for me
How do you guys feel about how the Flash runs?
The Flash: "Pet Sematary ??" " It's Pet Sematary !!!" loved it lol
Wonder how many got that joke :) Flash was great in this.
I don't get it.
It's a horror movie, that's all I'm going to say.
Cemetary*
"Cemetery" is misspelled purposely like it is for the movie Pet Sematary.
I seriously loathe the rivalry between Marvel fans and DC fans. It’s fun to compare and contrast movies and come to a fair agreement as to which ones are good or bad. Marvel has made some great ones and some stinkers, DC has made some great ones and some stinkers. It’s OK to admit when something you like didn’t go well. But since we are talking about justice league in this particular video, I have to say I really enjoyed it. I’m not saying it’s a perfect movie, I’m not saying it’s a great movie, but it is pretty damn good. For what it’s worth, I highly recommend it.
Justin Awill calm down buddy. You realize this is RUclips? Where's the hatred? Lol. Kidding. Totally agree with you. I can confidently say I am more of a fan in regards to Marvel projects but you'll see me in line waiting for anything DC. I don't know why people choose to bash something else when giving their opinion about a different companies product. I had a good time with Justice League, just like I had a good time with Thor. I'm just not an ass like others who want to compare one by putting down the other. You can always like both.
WB/DC made good Batman movies with Tim Burton and Nolan. Everything else was awful, especially when they tried to jumpstart the DCEU (mind you, Green Lantern was supposed to be their first entry).
There was no rivalry until 2012 and 2013 when Avengers then mos came out. DC fans hated the fact that Avengers came out and made a billion dollars in an integrated Marvel universe but there was no dc cinematic universe. That is when you started seeing dc fanboys saying that dc characters inherently better and that a justice league movie would automatically make 2 billion and "Marvel RIP" when mos drops etc. When mos came out to mixed reviews the fanboy rivalry started and really blew up when bvs turned out to be just another nad movie. Entitled dc fanboys lost their shit. Notice when the dark knight was the first comic book superhero movie made a billion dollars in 2008 no one bitched. All comic book fans rejoiced. That is how we know Marvel fans are fanning the flames of any rivalry. I am a Marvel fanboy and i watched all conic book movies and enjoyed them until the Snyderverse. The rabid dc fanboys have also turned me off, along with ss and bvs.
I was mad that they cut the scenes where Alfred says "he said u would come lets hope its not too late" are we just supposed to assume he was talking to superman? I know a lot of people thought he might have been talking to green lantern
Does anyone else realize that no one is allowed to interrupt kristian but he can interject whenever he wants? They fold to him so fast
I was glad wonder woman wasn't cracking jokes, and Batman humour was extremely dry which was great
that moment at the end when WW said "I'm surrounded by children" was a little tacked on and that joke didn't work for me at all..everyone was too quippy in this movie even WW
Filip Matevski i agree I'd prefer less jokes, but the humor did seem more natural to the characters personalities than marvel movies
The ACTUAL version of BvS , that should have been released, The “Ultimate” version , was by and far , the best movie in the DCEU. I enjoyed Man of Steel more than WW. Justice league is decent. The actual Directors cut will be amazing.
but thats notthe version most people saw in theatre, which is why it gets the hate it deserves. You dont withold the better movie and get mad when people trash it. Either make the right cut or dont. Its that simple.
I agree. Studio needs to let the directors do what they hired them to do
The filmmakers should know by now the studio wants to keep it at a certain runtime. I don't know why they keep running into the same problem. That's what happens when you try to rush your "Assemble" movie.
Totally agree.
That's the thing.... the filmakers have been pitching the films in these long formats, then after principle photography they all the sudden say " oh no, it can't be that long, you need to cut an hour out of the film. Oh , and by the way, we all the sudden don't like the middle act, re-film it so it has similar beats to {insert most recent Marvel movie}"
From all the stuff I've read over the past few years, it builds a story that WB is super reactionary to criticism. They complained that Man of Steel dragged on (which it didn't ) so they took the editing of BvS out of Snyder's hands and had some trailer company change the cut the film. People were upset that Superman destroyed half of Metropolis, in Man of Steel, and there wasn't any blow back. Then it was literally the first thing addressed in BvS and they have gone to great lengths to not have any big battles around people ( abandoned island, air base, sewer system (in SS). Now there are almost no stakes in the world. All because a couple critics whined about it.
If WB would stick to their guns and let the people make the films they originally pitched, I can almost guarantee you that they would all be significantly better. They are trying so hard to copy the 'Marvel Model', the least they could do is let the director run with the ball (like Marvel does)
Mark Reilly is not wearing a Superman shirt; he's wearing a Superboy shirt. I thought someone might have picked that up.
So is there going to be an extended cut?
I'm very mixed, but leaning positively. I don't think the RT score reflects the overall film, like BvS (which disappointed me). I say it should be in the 60s/70s. The cast is perfect.
-A lot of the reshoots look bad. There's no easy way to say it. I was fine when I heard they'd have to digitally remove Henry's mustache because I thought it was for a couple of scenes. I didn't think they'd reshoot almost ALL of the Superman stuff... That was insane to me.
-The pacing is both a positive and negative. The movie needed room to breathe. But at the same time, you're never bored like you were with some of BvS because it's so fast paced.
-Some of Whedon's writing for Batman rubbed me the wrong way. "I don't not like you" and "Yea, something's bleeding alright" was weird to me.
-The Justice League is the best part of the movie.
-Ezra was great, but outdid it a bit IMO.
Platinum Poop, I'm saying that this feels like a movie that would be in the 60s/70s range. I'm not criticizing other people's opinions.
Platinum Poop, yep. It's an aggregator. I'm well aware.
*eyeroll* No CGI looked bad. You were TRYING to find something. I didn't see a damn thing that was "bad" or worse than any other movie. I could tell the Hulk was a big CGI thing two weeks ago... you didn't care then. I could tell a lot of parts of that film were "CGI". Plus you don't know what was a reshoot and what wasn't. You think you do, but none of us know for sure. We know they worked on the end... mostly to leave Darkseid for the sequal, that's it. The easy way to say it is... you thought they were gonna look bad, you heard people say they looked bad, and you looked for it when you walked in and you stared with a critical eye instead of sitting back and enjoying the film like you're some special effects wizard or something. Zack Snyder and Whedon have put out some of the most amazing visual films of the modern age and they weren't going to simply allow "crap" to go out. Stop letting the internet think for you.
Thanks Alex. As far as Barry Allen.... Did he seem more like Wally West to you or is the humor more Ezra Miller than Flash?
Scott Alden, I appreciate the overreacting. So let me get this straight. Because I agree with people about "mustache-gate" because I MYSELF noticed it too and found it jarring as fuck, means that "I'm letting the internet think for me"? Yea, that makes a lot of sense. You know it's ok to admit that a film has flaws, right? I waited my whole life for this movie, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna act like everything is perfect.
Also, because of mustache-gate, we do know what was reshot and what wasn't on the Superman end (a lot of the movie). Cavill wrapped JL and then moved on to MI 6 (which he grew the facial hair for). Then the extensive reshoots were announced. But in the majority of the movie, it's obvious he has uncanny valley face, meaning it was reshot.
Great review guys. Bring Mike back for more reviews. He's great, and hearing his passion adds to the reviews
Where did the mother boxes go at the end of the film?
did anyone notice the 2 different Aquamans in the new DC intro? is that on purpose?
Just hearing your thoughts about the film itself is fun.
I had next to no interest in seeing the movie, but a TON of excitement for the conversations about it, like this.
You get your nice little social surrogacy kick.
Zack Snyder's stubbornness, Joss Whedon, Danny Elfman and WB executives butchered my childhood dream
Lol. Get some friends. You are constantly posting these lame things to get likes, which means you’re lacking elsewhere in your life. Get your face out of a computer/phone screen and experience life.
Swapnil Singh Blame WB more than any of them
I just got out of Justice League and I have to know why people didn’t like this movie. I thought it was fantastic and the payoff I wanted after loving man of steel and bvs (ultimate).
Ok. Saw it today. I'm somebody who has been reading comics since the 80s, loved the animated series and hated, absolutely hated the Snyderverse. I also thought the whole critics are biased against DC and WB theories were bullshit. Having said that, I REALLY liked this film. The characters were authentic, the pl,ot wasn't brilliant but it was no weaker than a Marvel film plot. This film does not deserve 38% on Rotten Tomatoes. It is a good film (not great) and it brought joy to my heart. The best way to describe it is as an episode of Justice League International made real. If that's what you want you will be very happy.
*Justice League Unlimited
Definitely agree
I absolutely agree with your assessment!
yup Steppenwolf was just like in the animated series. & the tone, it all reminded me of the series
People want to moan. I find the DC movies so far more rewatchable as they get better when you do. Exception being Suicide Squad. Many of Marvels get worse the more you watch. MoS and BvS Ultimate Cut better each time. It's like the animated movies you can rewatch each year as are fun and not intended for Oscars.
One of my favourite scenes for me, was when Ma Kent drove in to see Clark, and man, that kind of just made me tear up, a mother seeing her dead son again, losing her family, and now to have her son back, it was just such a beautiful moment
Just watched it, it was enjoyable. Wonder Woman was still great, took Supermans headbutt like a champ. I liked the entire crew. I wish i didn't watch other peoples reviews or pay attention to all the behind the scenes stuff, but that comes with being a collider fan. I kept looking at supermans mouth to see if i noticed the mustache and also kept trying to see differences with direction. Really messed with me while watching. Had a lord of the rings vibe in the middle when they told the mother box story. I dug that.
So whats the deal with Superman's secret identity? Is it still a thing? Why didn't the movie address why nobody asked any questions about Clark's death and subsequent resurrection which coincidentally occurred in exactly the same time frame as Superman's? I need answers people, help me out.
Or cyborg since his dad straight up let the janitor think his son died and then right in front of the janitor cyborg calls him dad now people will know who he is
+charles a True, and also when Lois arrives to talk Clark down while he's fighting the rest of the Justice League she yells "CLARK!!" right near that cop. Surely he would have heard that.
The Kiss! Superman gave everyone in the world the Kiss! Made everyone forget he died. :-)
Being Khaleeq Superman II. Clark Kent gave Lois Lane a Kiss near the end of the movie and she forgot what happened between her and Clark, and mostly forgot what happened in that movie.
neolaciss ive never seen him use that before or since is that actually one of his powers or was it just for Superman 2 ?
Sooo what was the air in the coffin in the end of BvS.?
The whole Superman v JL was a fantastic scene. I almost wished it was a bit longer. That Do You Bleed callback was awesome and I could see the resurrection coming in that process as soon as Batman was talking to Cyborg after getting the mother box. The grave digging part distracted me a lot but it was the most simplest way that Batman would absolutely do. He is gonna do whatever it takes to defeat the bigger threat. And that led to something so great with the league at odds. But then the callback to BvS about Lois being the key was so great. The chemistry between the league is great but the chemistry between Affleck and Gal Gadot were off the charts . Those scenes between Diana and Bruce were so well done. And then Superman doing heroism was great. Two post credit scenes was exciting and awesome and then at the end Clark and Bruce banter about the bank was just gold. I agree with every panelist even with Mark about the grave digging scene. Please see it in the theaters
I never read comics so idc about Marvel vs. DC, but I love this genre and just want to see good content. DC is trying to play catch up to Marvel, from an outside perspective, and it has led to them rushing things. They haven’t established a solid foundation, and yet they continue to build on it. It’s like building on quick sand or something. Idk if it’s the writers being terrible or the execs just trying to cash out, it’s probably both, but it clearly shows. There’s no meaning here.
And to people that continue to defend this no matter what, they’re HURTING DC in the long run. They’re showing that they don’t care, they just want to be loyal and praise it, rather than trying to see a quality movie. WB won’t change anything if people remain so stubborn.
Superman was awesome in this
no he wasn't he hardly did anything in the movie lol
besides his goddamn upper lip
He was still great in the time he was in it.
No, he wasn't. He was so cringe! Saying cringy one liners. Fuck Wheadon!!!
Bfyre did u even watch the movie? Steppennwolf killed an army of amazons killed and army of alantens almost killed cyborg and kicked ww and aqyamans ass till superman showed up he did alot
What was the point of the dirt levitating at the end of BVS if he was dead dead, and had to be grave robbed???
I loved the Lantern Cameo, I thought both Bruce and Diana were great, and I was cheering with joy when Superman came back to kick ass. I totally see the flaws, but they never bothered me enough to take me out. I didn't mind how simplistic the plot and villain were because they got the dynamics of the characters right. Every scene with Bruce and Diana was fantastic. I don't want Affleck to leave, because he shined for me in this one in a way that I missed in BvS. I want this movie to do well, because they're starting to put the pieces into place.
The good outweighs the bad, it's that simple. If you hated this movie you must have been trying really hard. I mean come on there’s so much fun to be had and so many amazing moments that it forgives the sometimes bad CG and a bland plot. Remember the mandated 2 hour theatrical run time really forced them to cut out a lot of scenes that would’ve helped with the story and character development.
bad things:
- cgi at the end and steppenwolf are laughable
- gal Gadots line delivery was horrible especially when superman turned evil... "Clark, no".. never heard 2 words sounds so fake and cringe
- Batman was close to irrelevant in this film. if he took a backseat after forming the justice league, nothing wouldve been different.
- story was weak... it was a simple premise without creating motivations and emotional moments for the characters.. ww and Batman had that small Steve Trevor moment.. I needed way more than those 2. even the flash with his father didn't totally hit.
- superman telling Bruce he wasn't relevant.. ehm why.. where did that come from.. I thought you were confused? but you remember Batman.. yea.. right
- Lois lane and supermans mom had the most unnecessarily roles ever. the whole "Lois lane makes superman go from crazy to sane... " is a very emotional thing in the comics... here it was done in seconds.. and that, if you're an actual comic book fan, hurt me in the guts... so the death of superman gets fixed with the easiest plot thing from bvs with 0 consequences... why not bring everybody alive then xd
- just minor things like that superman freeze breath could weaken steppenwolfs axe.. so his weakness was low temperature. well call the refrigerator manufactures.. and let the justice league stay home I guess.. but those are minor things.
good things:
-flash, aquaman and cyborg were amazing.
-their dynamic was great.
-some action scenes like the thing on themiscara and the evil superman bit were quite good.
- the post credit scenes were good, though deathstroke was done amazing in the arrow in the last episode, so just a face reveal was underwhelming after seeing something amazing done with the character in a dc series.
more bad than good
LMAO wow not even going to read that...wtf
Criticism doesn't equal hate.
huh?
I hope the release a ultimate edition with an hour of extra footage and that zack Snyder filter
Teddy Billionz "Zack Snyder filter"? Seriously? I mean, that filter is really ugly. It makes everything blue and devoid of colour.
And besides, that doesnt feel like something thats gonna make movie better.
My names Jeff zack isn't known for playing it safe he swings for the fences everytime & u can see in JL how the studio & wheedon pulled the rug from underneath him.. The criticism for this will be HARSH! I'm a dc fan and I knew the critics would try to bash no matter what they released so it's a lose lose why not stick to your guns And make your trademark dark serious 3 hour epics
Teddy Billionz Uuumm i dont understand what you are trying to say but it seems to me that you think that that Zack Snyder gray filter somehow makes a movie "Dark" and "Epic" which it doesnt.
I'd like to see an extended cut but i have a feeling its just gonna be a bigger mess.
I wouldn't mind seeing the directors cut
It's not even a "filter" lmao all of his movies were shot by the same cinematographer besides Justice League and the cinematographer said there isn't a filter it's just the natural look at the cameras make and Zack chooses not to edit it like other people do. I like the natural personally.
The ending of the 1997 film Batman & Robin is that Silverstone's Batgirl gets to stay being Batgirl, because Mr Freeze embraced his isolation and alienation from the rest of the world.
The overall theme, and the overall motif of Batman & Robin is that unification happens because alienation is a supportive and constructive force; the logic to this, is that if alienation is supportive and inspiring it means that unification isn't the corruption and counter-productive state of being judgemental. Over and over throughout Batman & Robin, characters who are isolated and alienated from the rest of the world - Barbara Wilson, Mr Freeze, Poison Ivy, Alfred and Bruce Wayne - are able to be inspiring and are able to over-interact with their surroundings because of their isolation.
Does the 2017 film Justice League feature any equivalent type of intellect?
Deathstroke has his toes dipped in so many things throughout the DC universe, he has so much potential. You've got his connections to the Titans, Nightwing, Suicide Squad, Batman, Justice League, Green Arrow, etc. There is just so much they can do with that character, including a solo outing
"Do you bleed?"
Loved that moment (y)
"Yeah, yeah something's definitely bleeding"
The Blackpink video is the best cameo in the Justice League!! Literally gasped when they showed it...then laughed when I realized I may very well have been the only one in the theater who knew it. As I'm sure most people reading this comment are saying "what the fuck is he talking about?" Ah, guilty pleasures ; )
JDSCT ah, yes I’ve heard of them! Do you know which exact musics video that was? I’m curious.
I heard it too. Honestly i'm a fan of them. I love movies and I love music.
It's their newest song "As If It's Your Last"
I laugh when it happen. such a surprise and the same time lil bit shed light on BA personality
Right? It was so unexpected! I was like Blackpink! and I could hear the people behind me saying who are those chinese girls? LOL
Can we have Mike on Heroes as a regular, He's really busy but loved hearing his thoughts!
Keep up the great work Kristian, Schnepp and Mark! :D
I really liked Steppenwolf... The problem were the Mother Boxes because they didn't give em enough weight for him... I really wanted more Steppenwolf... Loved the first fight against him in the tunnel...
