The one thing I loved most about the movie was how they made it clear that mjonir only focused Thor's power. The inscription makes it clear, "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor" Its Thor's power. I am glad Thor finally knows that.
But what is the hammer then? I mean its not just a tool for thor and his pwers, because he could only weild it... doesnt that mean that the hammer does contain power... just no lightening powers.
The hammer is a powerful weapon that helps Thor focus his power and gives him the ability to fly. In the comics the idea of it have a consciousness is toyed with. And if the hammer deems you worthy (thats where the consciousness comes in to play) you too can have the power of Thor.
it was pretty obvious that he doesnt need the hammer, to be called god of thunder. hela isnt goddess of death because of her sword and loki not a god of mischief bec of his dagger, and so on. i already predicted that thru the trailer. so predictable movie.
Well that inscription must've been added after it became Thor's, not when it was created. You see Hela holding the hammer in the wall painting and her time was way before Thor was born. But I agree that what they did was perfect.
Am I the only one bothered by how they handled The Warriors 3? They're killed off as if they were just some random Asgardians and no one, especially Thor, ever seems to care or even mention it. Also wish they would've explained if Hulk can turn back into Banner or not, but I take it Infinity War will address this.
Yeah, especially after all they've been through, Hogun was the only one that went down heroically. They did Volstagg and Fandrall dirty. If I was Zachary Levi I wouldn't have even got out of bed to have no lines and get killed like fodder. Literally the only thing I didn't like about the movie.
"You don't see her as an active force to destroy asgard." Dude, she doesn't want to destroy asgard, she wants to rule it. She spends most of the movie trying to achieve her goal: create an undead asgardian army, and conquer the galaxy. She just got delayed because heimdal kept the bifrost on lockdown. I agree with you that she's pretty run-of-the-mill standard villain, and that she really isn't that deep. But for what she was, and the tone of the movie, she's really well executed. She's like the best vanilla ice-cream you've ever head. Really good, but it's still vanilla.
Moist Von Lipwig Hela was one of the most powerful MCU villains I ever seen up to this point. Kate destroyed this role , the rest of the movie was enjoyable entertainment but overall it was a meh adaption of the actual Thor Ragnorok comic
@Robertico Diaz: Exactly. And you can see at the end. She's the only one (besides dumbass Hulk, lol) that is fighting Surtur and trying to defend Asgard.
They did that to all the characters but at least Loki did previously have some comedic one liners in Thor The Dark World, so I didn't think it was completely out of character for him to be funny.
Jareth Cruz It was, and still Loki was the best thing about it. Anyway, these are all Marvel films, they are not meant to be cinematic masterpieces. I watch them for pure entertainment
I️ adored this movie. The humorous callbacks to prior MCU movies was amazing. Had many great serious scenes. Loved the Black Widow scene in the Quinjet. They also really developed a lot of these characters so well. Also: Goldblum!
Did these “reviewers” understand the movie? She couldn’t get to Asgard in the first place without the Bifrost, by way of Loki accidentally...she can’t conquer the galaxy without the sword to activate the Bifrost and leave Asgard with her undead army...she had her army actively pursing Heimdall to get the sword. She didn’t want to destroy Asgard because she is Asgard, she was powering up...she was getting stronger just by being there. All she wanted was for them to bow down to her, conquer the galaxy and restore Asgard to their proper place. Whoever wasn’t on board and tried to fight her, she killed. Asgardians are her ppl she didn’t want to kill them.
Why would Hela want to destroy Asgard? it's the source of her power! They explain this many times! She just wants to use Asgard as a starting point to conquer the rest of the realms. Also, she wasn't as active as she should because without Heimdall's sword, she was basically trapped in Asgard, couldn't activate the bifrost
She wasn't trying to destroy Asgard, she wanted to rule it. And she didn't sit on her ass, she actively tried to locate where Heimdall's sword was so she chould invade and conquer other civilzations. She was straight to business from the moment she stepped out of that portal.
Spartak Ell When Thor is strapped to that chair on Sakaar and goes through that virtual reality thing, they play the song from Willy Wonka's weird tunnel boat ride
My main complaint is not only was there little emotional state you felt after Odin's random out of the blue death but Hela just straight up murdered the Warriors Three like it was nothing and the movie just moves along with no mention or thought at all. Thor doesn't care to look for them or even ask. And where the hell is Sif? Like for real. Not even a mention? Like what the hell? They felt the need to mention Jane but not Sif?
Yeah, the warriors three deserved more in my opinion. Fandral and Volstagg get killed off so quickly. We see them for like literally 30 seconds and they get destroyed. Hogun is the only one who puts up any kind of fight. And i did miss Sif. She would be devastated to hear that her friends and asgard was gone. Maybe she'll appear in agents of shield and talk about it...... But I'm thinking they didn't have enough screen-time for her i guess. There's only so much time in a film to share between actors. Also maybe the actress couldn't come back to reprise her role or something. Idk. All in all i loved the hell out of this movie still. No movie is without its faults...
Jamie Alexander mentioned that because the movie was shooting all the way down in Australia, there was no way to make the scheduling work with her commitment to Blindspot.
"The slaves have taken the mainframe" "No no no i dont like that word!" "What? Mainframe?" "..... NO nooo what? Why wouldnt i like the word mainframe? The s word THE S WORD"
Having Thor intentionally cause Ragnarok was a genius move and another subversion by Marvel of the usual superhero 3rd Act. If I had to rank the Superhero films of this year it would be 1. Logan 2. Spider-Man: Homecoming 3. Thor: Ragnarok 4. Wonder Woman 5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (which honestly for me was better than most of the Superhero Films of 2015 and 2016)
I agree with 1... i dont think spiderman was really that great. it was good for sure. id say 1. Logan 2. Thor Rag 3. Wonderwoman 4. Spiderman 5. GOTG VOL.2
Marvel has been switching up the 3rd act since Phase 3. A personal battle, reversing the portal in the sky and dying over and over, using a planet to fight against, a big heist, now accepting the inevitable.
I really enjoyed this movie and I agree that it is a crowd pleaser and that the villain could have more depht. but because it is Cate Blanchette her performance is enough to overlook that.
Diandra Nobre yeah, it def makes me LOL. During the screening I saw today, when one kid saw her walk out and slightly falter, asked: “Is she ok?”...right before she dives into the trash 😂😆 hilarious
My favorite was when Thor threw the ball. There was this expectation of a badass escape but it just came back crashing to his face. Everybody in my theater laughed and it was great.
+Kevin River, I could see that one coming a mile away. Almost everytime you expect something epic or emotional, start expecting a quip or joke instead.
She never wanted to destroy Asgard and the reason she never got to take over more realms was because the sword/ key was missing did y'all even watch the movie......................
Two storylines ruined in my opinion, Ragnarok\Planet Hulk. Neither of these story lines are comedies. I understand some comedy im all for some levity but constantly joking about everything the entire movie gets old. It’s like i was watching 21 Jump Street or a 2 hour Saturday Night Live skit. You have Guardians which is Marvels comedy movie, even Antman gives you a lot of laughs but does Thor have to be Will Ferrell now. This movie i think will appeal to a lot of children and people who don’t understand where the story was derived from. Was It the worst comic movie ever no but i didn’t come into this expecting to watch a 2 plus hour comedy routine. Im personally disappointed but It seems to please most people in the comments, guess looking at It from the story being a serious event in the comics to It being turned into a buddy comedy with no real sense of threat was a bit off putting for me. Thor’s trilogy as a whole is pretty pathetic. Guardians wasn’t that good now this, Marvel is heading in the wrong direction to me smh.
We are in a "fun" moment. It seems that DC is going for the fun (and judging from the trailer, we will have another Thor "Funfest"). Marvel decided to up their fun game. Really DC and Marvel? Reaaaaaally? We want funny, but not all over the place. Just the right moment/place.
I have to wonder if Rocha, Harloff and Nemiroff watched the movie. They say Hela didn't actively try to further destroy Asgard, claim her birthright or actively do anything else? WTF? She destroyed the honor guard, the warriors 3, pursued the civilians of Asgard and attempted to use the bifrost to enter other realms to continue her conquest! Only Heimdall prevented it by taking the sword! She was a well developed villian with a back story...I thought she was fantastic.
Expressed as a complaint that Hela didn't do anything. That's because she was preventing from going to other realms by when the sword was taken from the Bifrost
Also how is no one talking about the what we do in the shadows reference. Most of my theatre lost it at that line. Absolutely hilarious. Can’t stop praising Taika
I give it a 9/10! It’s a very tight story. One of my favorite scenes is when Thor and Doctor Strange teleport around the sanctorum. 😄 Another favorite scene of mine was when Hela singlehandedly destroys the entire Asgardian army.
Hela was just fine, we understood everything we needed to know about her & why she's here. feels like bs villain complaints as usual from people who didn't pay attention to the movie.
This movie was absolutely incredible. Taika Waititi killed it. If you liked what we do in the shadows and the hunt for the wilder people, this movie will please you. Also Korg stole the show. Taika is so amazing. I felt like the only weak link of this film was Karl Urban.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi yeah completely agree. I really like urban so it was kind of disappointing. His last minute turn back to good had no impact because he hadn’t really done anything bad to make the turn back so impactful. He mostly stood around and did nothing.
Hmmm Rocha..... Hela didn’t want to destroy Asgard. She wanted to rule it. She didn’t have Heimdall’s sword to use the Rainbow Bridge so couldn’t start her campaign conquest. Hela thought Thor died that’s why she was surprised upon his return to Asgard.
I haven't read any of the other comments, so someone might already pointed this out: Hella didn't go conquering more worlds and was stuck hanging out on the throne whilst her undead henchmen searched that flat earth for "dissidents" because Heimdall was quick as hell nicking the sword that is the key for Bifrost. Without that no one can go anywhere, looking for Thor or other worlds to take. So I think the movie followed its own rules quite well.
What else could she do guys? She killed warriors 3, the male asgardians, takes thor's eye and battles surtout. What more did you want. She's definitely gonna be back. Also she played enchantress role with skurge
The best Marvel movie this year!! I thought it was going to be too jokey all the way through, but it hit the dramatic story beats without dragging and when it's funny, the jokes land (unlike Bruce Banner on the Rainbow bridge...haha)
I suppose I meant the 'serious' moments--like Odin's 'death'--though not tearful in any capacity weren't undercut by jokes like in Guardians vol.2. I also felt Thor learned something about himself by the end so he actually had a dramatic character-arch...again, not in a tearful way
I agree. I don't have a problem with Thor getting a strength boost for this movie, because I've always liked Thor as a hero. However, since when does the Hulk get hit, not get pissed, and get even stronger? No Hulk smash? No Hulk is the strongest one there is? Where is him getting stronger as he gets madder? I know it was a Thor movie, but at least get your main hero co-star right. At least Marvel got him right in the first Avengers movie, but he's been portrayed incorrectly in every movie except that one...
Hulk had a lot of time to simmer in his body for the first time, and now instead of a big angry baby, he's more like a toddler and has a little more control. He's learned to speak now, I don't think that even the Hulk could stay at 100% level anger 24/7.
I'm not talking about 24/7, I'm talking about during a fight. Perhaps Banner was limiting the Hulk's strength when he saw Thor, which I would be fine with, but that was never touched on so I don't think it would be valid...
Ah I see what your saying, It did bug me a little when Hulk was pulling his punches but then I thought exactly what you said, maybe he held back when he recognized Thor, could've been touched on a little more concrete, but I think Hulk was definitely still his good ol' angry self during that fight.
With Hela, the reason she didn't go after the other realms, she started to but the sword is missing from the bifrost bridge, then she is trying to get the sword back from himdall and sending out her soldiers to look for them. Once she finds out where they are SHE goes after them... so she WAS active when she knew WHERE to be active
"Shes not being an active force in destroying Asgard". Wth are you talking about? She doesnt want to destroy it, she wants to rule it, expand it. The only reason shes stuck in Asgard instead of being out there conquering all the other realms is because Heimdal stole the sword. Hell, they even set up that time moves differently in Sakaar so for all we know she could have been in Asgard for less than a day
Wished they would have talked about that funny scene when they were doing the play on Asgard!!!! With those guys acting as Thor and Loki. I was balling 😂 hard!!!! Haha
Can we please not blame Cate Blanchett's Hela for not being as strong of an active force! If you want to place the blame on anyone, it would be on the writers and Taika. Cate does an amazing job with the limited screen time she is given and my one main qualm about Thor:Ragnarok is that they didn't give more time for Hela. Also, about the flashback scenes. While it was visually stunning and beautifully designed, I wish Taika showed more of that flashback. Unlike Wonder Woman's story time flashback at the beginning, there was more depth and explanation. The Hela vs. Valkyrie scene was pretty much all we got to see from the trailers, which was disappointing.
To add to everything else you said about the opening scene, I also felt that it actually served as a farewell to the hammer and the "old Thor." The way it was shot during the fight blasting through enemies with Thor guiding it in the background was probably one of my favorite moments in a Marvel action scene
Just got home from the movie, my three favorite moments have to do with Loki. First you have the"I have been falling, FOR THIRTY MINUETS" and the part that he sees the Hulk and he says "I have to get out of here" and lastly when Hulk flails Thor around and Loki yells "THATS HOW IT FEELS!" I also love how in the end they embrace the fact that they have to cause Ragnarok to defeat Hela. Overall this was a great movie
Finally the wait is over and got the chance to see Thor: Ragnarok in IMAX at Cinemark 17. I have to say if Freddy Mercury was alive today he would have loved Thor: Ragnarok period. The film had so much nod to the 80's from start to finish and that fit theme of the film perfectly. Taika Waititi just went all out for this film by combining everything from the First Thor film, Avengers, Avengers Age of Ultron, The Fifth Element, Guardians of the Galaxy Vols 1 & 2, Knight Rider and the list just goes on. Thor: Ragnarok really was an amalgamation and the culmination of his journey coming full circle. Of course the Planet Hulk and Ragnarok storylines are big influences to the story but also seeing some of the classic Jack Kirby art coming to life just gave goosebumps in a good way as well as Walt Simonson's run on Thor. My favorite part with Thor: Ragnarok where art was imitating life was with Surtur and Hela because Taika just brought those 2 characters perfectly especially with the look. Even the other characters such as Korg, Meik, Skurge, Valkyrie, The Grandmaster were also great additions to the 3rd arc for Thor. Their are so many things that I thought were great but it's kind of hard to choose because so much was happening and so all the easter eggs, the crazy cameos were great and I hope they continue that through the next set of films.
Raghu Seetharaman Dude, you comment EVERYWERE. How the heck do u even have the time for all the comments you make on a bunch of channel and comicbook based content. Not sayin u shouldn't stop commenting but DAYUM. And 3/4 of the time you point out the most obvious stuff lmao
I personally love Guardians Vol 2. Yeah, there was a lot of comedy in that, but all the characters were so well developed and expanded upon, with a lot of rich emotional elements. Ragnarok doesn't have as much character depth, but does top it in terms of action and pacing. Ragnarok is my fave superhero film of the year, and one of the best MCU films.
The Banner jumping out of the ship and falling on his face on the bridge gag had me in tears. I haven’t laughed that hard in a marvel movie since the first time I saw Hulk smash Loki around.
The only problem I had with the film was Skurge the executioner. He was completely useless. Even though I thought Hela was an amazing villain, I wish we got more of her.
Charleston T Marvel's best villains are the ones with an actor/actress behind it, that is, no CGI. Hargrave, Kingpin, Elektra, Ward, Motomouth, Alexander Pierce, Loki, Zemo all shared a human core of villany. Desire for money and power, ambition, jealousy, revenge... if it is pure CGI (looking at you Dormammu/Ultron), something is missing. That is why I am worried they will made a mess of Thanos (even with the Russo's brother behind it). I hope we see more of Hela.
Taika is the hero of this movie. His brand of humor, his handle on his vision, and his prowess as a director made this movie something special. He took the best ingredients that Branagh and Taylor squandered and made a delicious film. Awesome job.
I really enjoyed when they used Immigrant Song towards the end battle, not so much in the beginning scene. When Loki realized Hulk came out to fight Thor, Loki's expression during the entire fight was priceless plus when Hulk does to Thor what he did to Loki in The Avengers and Loki's reaction after that gold! Also, Banner jumping out of the ship and falling flat on the bridge comedy gold!
so no one will mention how fast Hela killed Thor's former team? First the 2 guys when she arrives to Asgard and then the other guy trying to fight her? I mean, that was seconds for three great warriors from the other 2 Thor movies. We always say, "that movie could have been 20-30 shorter", this time I feel this movie needed 15-20 more minutes, the pacing was great but some scenes needed more time to breathe. However this was my favorite Marvel movie this year and it's on my top5 MCU movies for sure... for now..
I felt as though I had been transported back to 1980 to see Flash Gordon. While I liked the movie.... there was a bit too much comedy. It was jerky and not smooth humor. I would still see this again while in the theaters but it does NOT crack the top 50. This film had the bones to be the top but falls short.
I loved that they made fun of the line from BW in AoU "The suns gettin real low now..." It was stupid line and I love that they are making fun of it now
hella doesn't pursue thor because she thought he was dead in being ejected from the transportation. she was relishing her rise to power and was purposely being slow and methodical in dealing with the commoners because she knows none of them are a threat to her. as for going beyond asgard she was ready to do that. that is why the hunt for the sword is a moving plot point but she has no interest in dirtying her own hands in the search of it.
i give it 6.6/10 and that's because of execution and style. we have seen Thor been a little more serious and suddenly he has become starlord? The movie had a goos story to tell but the decision to make it a guardians of the galaxy comedy it was too much for me and left me with a bitter disappointment! many. times it made me feel i am watching a Thor Parody. And that was not good.
Her birth rite was not to destroy Asgard but rule and conquer more realms, so her sitting around doing nothing was her searching for the sword to invade other realms. She can't go any where without the bifrost.
I looooove how cool they Made Dr. Strange. They really show how much of a quick learner he is. He is the shit now. I also like how Loki try to immediately attack him. Nice cameo. Can't wait for more!!
Hahaha plot confusion. Hela gets her power from Asgard, she doesn't want to destroy it, that's Surtur. She can't move from Asgard because the key has been stolen otherwise Hel would rule.
The Heroes panel are doing their own Spoiler Review with Twitter questions as their Monday episode, to give people enough time to watch it to ask questions.
Also when hela came out the bifrost why didn't she just take the sword that opens it, then she wouldn't have to look for it seeing as it was an important plot point
Due to the blue vein lines I assumed it was something else, pretty combination... But ya, when he used lighting in arena he should have fried the device
Hela didn't want to destroy Asgard. She wants to rule the 9 Realms and spread fear to them. Surtur was the one who wants to destroy Asgard. Of all the characters in the movie i was kind of disappointed with Skurge. Hela to me had that "presence" that Red Skull does. Maybe it is because they had great actors portraying them.
what is rocha talking about hella didnt actively do anything. She killed the entire asgarrdian army. SHE needed the key to the rainbow bridge to travel to other realms. She spent the rest of the movie looking for it but failed because of thor. Did we see different movies?
Hold on.... First she doesn't want to destroy Asgaard. Second of all, she went to start her invasion, but Heimdallr STOLE THE BIFROST SWORD. It's like complaining a nautical guy didn't cross the ocean without a ship.
It doesn't matter what she is in the comics. The movies have ALWAYS shown that they don't follow the comics exactly. They always have their own take on characters. An example is Hela. In the comics Hela isn't the sister of Thor and Loki. In the comics she is Loki's daughter. The movie had it's own spin on the character and changed it. You're Welcome.
Man I've been waiting 2 weeks for this. Sucks for you guys in the US that it takes so long for these to come out over there. Saw the movie twice anyway I bloody loved it
The one thing I loved most about the movie was how they made it clear that mjonir only focused Thor's power. The inscription makes it clear, "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor" Its Thor's power. I am glad Thor finally knows that.

And then Thor went Super Saiyan Raiden.
Well that inscription must've been added after it became Thor's, not when it was created. You see Hela holding the hammer in the wall painting and her time was way before Thor was born. But I agree that what they did was perfect.

Where is Sif????????
Yeah it bugged me too. I wish they'd at least had some dialogue to make their deaths mean something.
JonnyGotLost yes please! Does anyone know where Sif is? Or how they explain her absence?
They just don't mention her at all.
At least Hogun got a better death than Volstagg or Fandrill.
"Piss off Ghost!" Lol!
Sultur: *THOR SON OF ODIN*
Thor: *SULTUR! Son... of a bitch!- your still alive!?*

Also the time frame from Odin passing on to Hela being defeated is just a couple of hours. Since time on the garbage planet was accelerated.
Moist Von Lipwig Hela was one of the most powerful MCU villains I ever seen up to this point. Kate destroyed this role , the rest of the movie was enjoyable entertainment but overall it was a meh adaption of the actual Thor Ragnorok comic
Moist Von Lipwig Yeah you don't destroy a place that literally gives you more power.
you shouldve seen this one coming; i love plain vanilla ice cream :)
@Robertico Diaz: Exactly. And you can see at the end. She's the only one (besides dumbass Hulk, lol) that is fighting Surtur and trying to defend Asgard.
Hated how Loki is like a stand up comedian as well, that's not his character at All, they turned everyone into parody of themselves
They did that to all the characters but at least Loki did previously have some comedic one liners in Thor The Dark World, so I didn't think it was completely out of character for him to be funny.
Marina Quinn Dark world was shit as well
Jareth Cruz It was, and still Loki was the best thing about it. Anyway, these are all Marvel films, they are not meant to be cinematic masterpieces. I watch them for pure entertainment
Marina Quinn yhea but I don't like when they butcher a character, people that say the MCU is accurate to the comics obviously don't read them.
Jareth Cruz I agree, Loki from the comics is a totally different character to Loki from the MCU, I just look at them separately.
Is everyone gonna just gloss over the fact that Sam Neil and Matt Damon are in this?
great cameos!
When???
THE LOKI DEATH PLAY
Matt Damon.
MKSongbird And Sam Neill... omg, the last time Neill and Goldblum worked together or were in the same movie was Jurassic Park. Thank you Taika!
BloodyFlowerFilms don't forget Luke hemsworth
+BloodyFlowerFilms marvel gave us a tango & cash and Jurassic park reunions this year without actually giving us the reunions
Where was he in the movie? I don't remember recognising him
Allan Alberts Thanks!
Did you guys notice the Matt Damon cameo? He was the actor playing Loki in the play 😂😂😂
Brad Stowell he played Loki
Raghu Sharma shiiiiiiiieet that’s what I meant. Luke Hemsworth played Thor 😂
Sam Neill was Odin too.
Brad Stowell 😂 That was hilarious!
Matt was so funny, Loved it!
I️ adored this movie. The humorous callbacks to prior MCU movies was amazing. Had many great serious scenes. Loved the Black Widow scene in the Quinjet.
They also really developed a lot of these characters so well.
Also: Goldblum!
Aw when Hulk was bashing himself over the head trying not to turn back into Banner, that part killed me.
Volstagg, Fandrel and Hogun untimely deaths were just terrible.
Raghu Seetharaman it was so very disappointing and disrespectful for them to go out so easy.
I thought Hogun’s wasn’t so bad coz at least he got to put up a fight. The other 2 tho...
I agree, I hated that they just got them out of the way and then gave no explanation of where Sif was
the three of them fighting hela and then die like the honourable warriors that they are was what i wanted really
It was disappointing that they were not given a better send off but it did demonstrate just how powerful Hela was.
She wasn't trying to destroy asgard Rocha she wanted to rule it
Yep. She wanted to destroy and rule OTHER worlds. But she had her power from Asgard. Why would she destroy it? lol
It's like he wasn't paying attention to the movie.

Never thought I'd hear the word "Orgey" in a Marvel movie.
Well, we heard "porn" in Spider-Man: Homecoming and GOTG 2 had robo-prostitutes lol.
marvel has come along way
can't forget The Devil's Anus
"Orgy"
and in the most casual way ever: he uses it for orgies AND STUFF hahahaha
Taika also provides the performance for Surtur as well with Clancy Brown providing the voice.
I thought I knew that voice! Clancy Brown is amazing btw.
Raghu Seetharaman lol that scene in the spaceship. "Its my birthday" lol
Macleod!!!
John Carlos Star Ship Troopers!
Thank you. I was trying to figure out which voice is that.
All I got from this was "Ragnarok has plenty of laughs but absolutely no depth"
Cate Blanchett as Hela was so sexy and badass
Andrew Garfield So good!!!
I wish we had more time to mourn the warriors three, Thor didn’t even notice they died and they were his bestfriends
“I love you my sons” - Odin 😭
She wasn't trying to destroy Asgard, she wanted to rule it. And she didn't sit on her ass, she actively tried to locate where Heimdall's sword was so she chould invade and conquer other civilzations. She was straight to business from the moment she stepped out of that portal.
Did anyone catch the Willy Wonka reference???
I loved it, it was hilarious!
Tim Ell where?
Spartak Ell When Thor is strapped to that chair on Sakaar and goes through that virtual reality thing, they play the song from Willy Wonka's weird tunnel boat ride
Tim Ell I feel like they were also referencing Space mountain at Disneyland
The song was 'Pure Imagination', and the visuals were definitely a nod to the darker, more psychedelic part of the boat ride.

Hogun is the only one who puts up any kind of fight. And i did miss Sif. She would be devastated to hear that her friends and asgard was gone. Maybe she'll appear in agents of shield and talk about it......
But I'm thinking they didn't have enough screen-time for her i guess. There's only so much time in a film to share between actors. Also maybe the actress couldn't come back to reprise her role or something. Idk.
All in all i loved the hell out of this movie still. No movie is without its faults...
yeah, Jaimie 'Sif' Alexander had to film Blindspot for NBC.
Anthony Acosta I also hate how Thor just doesn't ask about them or look for them.
Absolutely , where was Lady Sif?? Say wat u will , her missing at a critical time in Asgard is a plot hole
Jamie Alexander mentioned that because the movie was shooting all the way down in Australia, there was no way to make the scheduling work with her commitment to Blindspot.
"The slaves have taken the mainframe"
"No no no i dont like that word!"
"What? Mainframe?"
"..... NO nooo what? Why wouldnt i like the word mainframe? The s word THE S WORD"
jackson noos ok, ok.... the prisoners with jobs.
for me it was too much comedy, even the cartoons for the kids were not that comedy
It reminds me of Ghostbusters.
Where there's just line after line of one-liners, with bits of heart here and there.
When I saw Matt Damon I almost choked on my popcorn laughing so hard.
This movie is so so good. I'm going to go see it again tomorrow and probably the day after. It might be my favorite comicbook movie.
Having Thor intentionally cause Ragnarok was a genius move and another subversion by Marvel of the usual superhero 3rd Act.
If I had to rank the Superhero films of this year it would be
1. Logan
2. Spider-Man: Homecoming
3. Thor: Ragnarok
4. Wonder Woman
5. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (which honestly for me was better than most of the Superhero Films of 2015 and 2016)
Darth Lehnsherr up next justice league
I agree with 1... i dont think spiderman was really that great. it was good for sure. id say
1. Logan
2. Thor Rag
3. Wonderwoman
4. Spiderman
5. GOTG VOL.2
If u rank it should be MCU only.. Not this..
Darth Lehnsherr 1 Logan
2 WW
3 GOTG 2
4 Thor Ragnarok
5 Spider Man Homecoming
Marvel has been switching up the 3rd act since Phase 3. A personal battle, reversing the portal in the sky and dying over and over, using a planet to fight against, a big heist, now accepting the inevitable.
Hulk Chompin on Rocha's head the entire video
I really enjoyed this movie and I agree that it is a crowd pleaser and that the villain could have more depht. but because it is Cate Blanchette her performance is enough to overlook that.
Gaby I want a Hela movie. 😂😂😂😂😂 So good!
I don't think Hela is dead. She was stabbed a ton and healed instantly. I wouldn't be surprised if Thanos picks her up
yojoono well, duh...
😒😒
Stan Lee's cameo in Thor Ragnarok was the best one I have EVER seen!
Cullenprime He must've shed a tear when he was told he'd be cutting Thor's hair.
deadpool is still the best if you ask me..
iF YOU TOUCH MY HAIR YOU SHALL FACE THE WRATH OF THOR..
.
.
please dont cut my hair sir..
Cullenprime It took the library as number one (from amazing spider man).
Cullenprime It was hilarious!
My favourite moment is Valkyrie's entrance. It was hilarious
I've been falling for 30 minutes!!!!
She was a well developed villian with a back story...I thought she was fantastic.
another day, another new doug
my name is korg. this is miek. he has scisscors for hands. i died...
Loki has the Tessaract, hence appearance of Thanos at the end.
rafys78 I think Thanos has sense that Loki has the Tesseract. And I guess that's why his ship appeared?
Jay Jay Exactly!
Nailed it!
Raghu Sharma when?
The vampires line, right?
jaysdroid yeah that was so good lol
Raghu Sharma He killed it, all right. Now, the MCU is officially...DEAD!!!
Karl Urban role was wasted , it was the script writer fault to give him a glorified bodyguard role - he was like Captain phasma
Star Wars: The Last Jedi yeah completely agree. I really like urban so it was kind of disappointing. His last minute turn back to good had no impact because he hadn’t really done anything bad to make the turn back so impactful. He mostly stood around and did nothing.
Raghu Sharma of course a casual fan would say that, and on another note, Korg is as funny as Jar Jar Binks.
I actually really liked Skurge, it wasn't what I quite expected
Hmmm Rocha..... Hela didn’t want to destroy Asgard. She wanted to rule it. She didn’t have Heimdall’s sword to use the Rainbow Bridge so couldn’t start her campaign conquest. Hela thought Thor died that’s why she was surprised upon his return to Asgard.
No active pursuit? They are looking for the sword to control bifrost so she can start her conquest. She COULDN'T go after other realms.
Best part from movie (Thor gets slammed by hulk)Loki: “that’s how it feels!”
Square One Visual Grammar I loooooooooooooooooved Hela. She was everything I wanted. I hope we have more.
I hope The Hulk and Spider Man have the same kind of relationship that they do in the comics and animated shows in Infinity War.
I totally agree! Would love to see Hulk say, "Hulk like little Bug Man" or something like that and have Spider-Man sitting on Hulk's shoulder.
I wasn't a fan of the valkyrie girl , but Kate Blanchett once again proves why she's one of the best actresses around
I also felt Thor learned something about himself by the end so he actually had a dramatic character-arch...again, not in a tearful way
How was Ego undercut by jokes?
That said too many people probably conflate dramatic=tearful
Taika somehow got Thor and the Hulk right in one movie!
When the music of Pure Imagination came up I laughed so hard, the guy beside me was even worried.
PS: Where the f is Lady Sif?
With Hela, the reason she didn't go after the other realms, she started to but the sword is missing from the bifrost bridge, then she is trying to get the sword back from himdall and sending out her soldiers to look for them. Once she finds out where they are SHE goes after them... so she WAS active when she knew WHERE to be active
So we’re not going to talk about Matt Damon being Loki???
Fav Hela line, the "Your Welcome" add on you almost miss it but her delivery is perfect.
At the end. It was thanos' ship
First you have the"I have been falling, FOR THIRTY MINUETS" and the part that he sees the Hulk and he says "I have to get out of here" and lastly when Hulk flails Thor around and Loki yells "THATS HOW IT FEELS!"
I also love how in the end they embrace the fact that they have to cause Ragnarok to defeat Hela.
Raghu Seetharaman stfu
Childish Kambino Aww. Are you butthurt?
warrior1795 why would I be?
Raghu Seetharaman Dude, you comment EVERYWERE. How the heck do u even have the time for all the comments you make on a bunch of channel and comicbook based content. Not sayin u shouldn't stop commenting but DAYUM. And 3/4 of the time you point out the most obvious stuff lmao
TerryBeyond 45 exactly
I just saw it like 30 minutes ago. I loved it!
Thor is finally the king of Asgard. I think that was super important
"We're not doing Get Help."
Megatron kills Odin.
Red skull was in this?
"Lacked depth." Bullshit argument.
9 pm show was sold out on a Thursday before opening so I'm calling it. $125 million.
7PM showing I went to was sold out. I got my tickets last week and had to settle for the edge seats.
+ VanRocCarMor Same bro at Showplace ICON the 7,10, almost 11pm showings all sold out luckily I got my seats and had a great fun time
Rocha! saw you at the Dome last night. Glad you liked the movie!
Hella wanted to rule Asgard not destroy. Wtf was tgis dude complaining about??
One of the best moments was the subtle nod to the Donald Blake transformation for Thor when they are a Norway.
The Banner jumping out of the ship and falling on his face on the bridge gag had me in tears. I haven’t laughed that hard in a marvel movie since the first time I saw Hulk smash Loki around.
I liked the Stan Lee cameo but I would of liked him placing a bet
"Put 500 units on" and cuts away
The only problem I had with the film was Skurge the executioner. He was completely useless. Even though I thought Hela was an amazing villain, I wish we got more of her.
Charleston T probably will...it felt very much like her first act
Charleston T Marvel's best villains are the ones with an actor/actress behind it, that is, no CGI. Hargrave, Kingpin, Elektra, Ward, Motomouth, Alexander Pierce, Loki, Zemo all shared a human core of villany. Desire for money and power, ambition, jealousy, revenge... if it is pure CGI (looking at you Dormammu/Ultron), something is missing. That is why I am worried they will made a mess of Thanos (even with the Russo's brother behind it). I hope we see more of Hela.
Willowy13 Thanos has to be cgi because he’s a big character. The cgi doesn’t matter, it’s the script and the development of the villain that matters.
I disagree about Hela. She was trying to get the biforst sword from heimdall to conquer/destroy the nine realms.
However this was my favorite Marvel movie this year and it's on my top5 MCU movies for sure... for now..
Reported straight here right after I got out of the movie. 8/10!!! So awesome!
Taika Waititi's character might be my favorite in all the MCU. He killed me, he just killed me.
i give it 6.6/10 and that's because of execution and style. we have seen Thor been a little more serious and suddenly he has become starlord? The movie had a goos story to tell but the decision to make it a guardians of the galaxy comedy it was too much for me and left me with a bitter disappointment! many. times it made me feel i am watching a Thor Parody. And that was not good.
johnnyxp64 Someone needs a lesson in grammar.
johnnyxp64 i understand but I think Thor did need a little personality I thought it was fine. I thought Bruce was a little too jokey but I don’t mind
If they bring Hela back, her dynamic with Loki and Thor could improve the character even more.
Hahaha plot confusion. Hela gets her power from Asgard, she doesn't want to destroy it, that's Surtur. She can't move from Asgard because the key has been stolen otherwise Hel would rule.
Wasn't Schnepp going to be in the spoiler review?
The Heroes panel are doing their own Spoiler Review with Twitter questions as their Monday episode, to give people enough time to watch it to ask questions.
oh, ok thanks Avatarlll :)
Yeah, I think I'll wait for Schnepp and the crew on Monday for a review....
Cool, thanks Grand Admiral Bendu :)
on the Heroes show they will review it
Ok was it me but did anybody else wonder how the god of thunder who produces electricity out of his body could be electricuted
That's actually a good thing to question
Also when hela came out the bifrost why didn't she just take the sword that opens it, then she wouldn't have to look for it seeing as it was an important plot point
Due to the blue vein lines I assumed it was something else, pretty combination...
But ya, when he used lighting in arena he should have fried the device
snipegrzywa im pretty sure he was being electricuted
Loved Idris, Tessa, Taika, Urban, everyone in this film absolutely incredible job by all of them
Hold on.... First she doesn't want to destroy Asgaard. Second of all, she went to start her invasion, but Heimdallr STOLE THE BIFROST SWORD. It's like complaining a nautical guy didn't cross the ocean without a ship.
It looked like Hela disappeared at the end of the movie. I think Thanos teleported her to his ship.
Cullenprime She's the GODDESS of Death, not the PERSONIFICATION of Death!
Cullenprime Now the MCU is ruined. Thanks a lot!
Cullenprime This won't be the last we see oif her that's for sure.
Cullenprime definitely
Man I've been waiting 2 weeks for this. Sucks for you guys in the US that it takes so long for these to come out over there. Saw the movie twice anyway I bloody loved it
NOW YOU KNOW HOW THAT FEELS "LOKI"
