I really like your video's and appreciate all your work. Remember when welding on a modern computerized car to disconnect the battery first. Saves future ecu problems.
Jeremy Fake as long as you put you ground clamp on what you are welding you don't have to worry about causing in the problems. For example here the electricity is traveling directly from the gun to the muffler. If I was to put the ground clamp on the body then I would have problems
some vehicles they don't leave you space on the pipe to slip a new muffler on mainly on GM and chrysler vehicles, i would of got a 90 degree pipe and attach the muffler with clamps as walker replacement mufflers last 2 years or less in the northeast and mid atlantic states as they rust out internally and externally from road salts in the winter time as new mufflers are alunimized steel aftermarket replacements AP exhaust, bosal, and walker.
this is great. i need to do the same thing. same car.. ever put new struts on your car? wonder who makes close to OE ones. not the cheap crappy ones either
@@kdautomotive1165 Thank you for the reply, I only ask for people who don't have a welder or money to shell out to a shop and are looking for a quick fix.
still have that car??hot cute irish guy my redchevrolet impala muffler needs fixing $344,00 yet my car was$4600....in 2019.........like to be yours u can fix cars sweet
I wouldve just patched that tiny hole. Now in my case, my resonator split because there was a little hole in it, and when I went up a curb, it hit it just right 😑 I'm just Putting a glasspack on it 🙄

Good video straight and to the point.

I have the same muffler to replace, would a clamp work instead of welding?? I purchased a u clamp.
TRUMP 2016 it might if you cut the old muffler off as flush as you can. Their isn't a while look of pipe left to get a clamp on
In another video they cut close to the muffler insalled it and clamped it a 2 1/4 in clamp.

I've put ACDelco professional on and probably should of saved my money and used monroe
You can use AC Delco or KYBs. Monroes are fine except on police package as they only make the front ones.
Is using those exhaust clamps an alternative to welding or did this NEED to be welded?
You can try. Not alot of pipe to clamp on too though

After you get the muffler on do you have to weld it or are there other options other than welding the pipes together
Their is not alot of pipe to get a clamp to seal on. You could try it
KD Automotive so u saying I could possibly get a clamp to seal on the two pipes
@@andremaggitt2829 I'm not guaranteeing it will work. If you try to cut flush with the back of the old muffler it MIGHT
KD Automotive lol I got you bro thanks
How much does a a welding kit usually cost
The one used in this video was around $1000. Their are cheaper options out there though
How come you didn’t knock the slag peel off the weld?
It's a MIG weld. It uses shielding gas not flux so their is no slag
Hey where did u order the muffler from?
Xnxx has cheap ones
How much does a muffler replacement cost to get put on? Someone stoled mines off my impala
The muffler was around $100 then for a shop to do it add a hour labor witch around here is on average $120
Keep it off it’ll sound way better
I cant get the clamp off my old one
Why not just put clamp on it and be done?
Did you get Stainless wire for this?
No used regular mild steel wire. It's not stainless pipe you would need pure argon and it would still rust as it would pull iron into the puddle
Why didnt you just clamp it?
