I appreciate that you're acknowledging there's reason to be concerned about this, it makes me trust you much more than those who are acting like benzene isn't that big a deal cause they don't want people to stop using sunscreen. You're giving us the honest truth that it is indeed unacceptable that it was found in so many products while encouraging us to continue with sunscreen and other sun protective measures
I find the argument that we are exposed to Benzene elsewhere funny like that somehow makes it okay.. we've all probably been exposed to secondhand smoke at some point in our lives in one way or another, that doesn't mean we should all just go smoke a cigarette because we are exposed anyways...
very true however i think it just puts some things into perspective. Also inhaling something and putting it on doesn’t always pose the same risk. The amount and exposure to something contributes to its risk. It’s really just for perspective.
Thank you for addressing this. I sent the link to Neutrogena/J&J and their response was unacceptable. They should be recalling the benzene lots. I'm disgusted. I have so much Neutrogena sunscreen and this very much upsets me. Your shirt looks dark pink. :)
I am a 66 y.o. RN. I used BHRT for about 2 years to bridge me through menopause (at 54 yo...a little late I know!). I used Botox and dermal fillers throughout my 50s as well when my body image was changing. I naturally let it go when my symptoms evened out and I felt more comfortable and welcoming of these changes. Now, I focus on great skin care and embrace my grey hair as my crown of silver glory. I get compliments all the time...just wish I had had Dr. Dray to guide me through the (for me) perilous 50s. ❤️
I am originally, from Minnesota, but lived in Nevada for over 20 years, In a little town called Pahrump, which is about an hour from the Las Vegas strip, heading towards Death Valley. Great weather, little rain and very dry. The temps soar over 100, but you do what you do here in Minnesota when it is 30 below, stay home, or run from your car to your office or grocery and then from your car to your house. The Las Vegas locals usually steer away from the strip. There are 100's of local bars and even larger casinos for the locals to gamble at, if that is what they choose to do. I am sure my 20 plus years in the desert, shows in my skin, because that is before I found Dr Dray. Back in Minnesota now and slathering on the sunscreen and moisturizers.
I grew up in Las Vegas and I love the desert but I was happy to get out a few years ago. I love being able to have seasons and rain. One thing I never realized was how the dryness messed with my sinuses. I was a total mouth breather for 30+ years and now that I live in a moister climate that is completely gone. I can sleep with my mouth closed. 😂 Humidifiers help a little bit but not enough. I also love that the UV Index is always drastically better up here in Northern Oregon. I miss summers by the pools though and having dry, open sky winters.
Banana Boat used to make a green colored sunscreen called Hydrate and Protect. It was my holy grail sunscreen for years. It covered up any redness I had and it wasn’t sticky. I cried when they stopped making it 😭
I have one I use from Asia, Rohto Mentholatum Skin Aqua Tone Up spf 50. I order from Stylevanna, but I've seen it on Amazon US. You may want to check it out.
The basis of the channel is skincare but I really love the vlogs don’t want them ever to end they are relaxing, fun, uplifting and promote good things along the way! Such good energy Dray! ☕️⭐️🔥
I would love this kind of commentary in European drugstores like DM, Rossmann and others, could you travel to Europe and maybe deduct those travel expenses from your taxes, because it would be incredibly useful to us the European folks that follow your work!!! I‘m always jealous of the Americans that get so much content from you, I wish skincare was more globalized in terms of products available to the public. There are so many products you recommend I wish I could buy and I can’t because it would be so expensive to ship from USA. It would be awesome, if you could collaborate with La Roche Posay in Europe or Neutrogena for example, you have a big audience, maybe they would be willing to support you? I‘m trusting you that you wouldn’t give up honesty. Your input is really needed!!!!!

They tested specific lot numbers...I don't feel confident you can trust/distrust every bottle/tube of a product based on this report. Without a matching lot number, what do we really know? Anyone else feel this way?
Same! Especially for my child (she’s 2). We’re going to the beach for a 2 week vacation next month and I’m obsessive about finding her safe products. I’m even buying extra and giving some to my ex husband to ensure he only uses proven safe products for her.
@@joannablack this is my question! I bought some sunscreen off the safe list and of course the upc's match but the lot numbers don't. Now I'm wondering if the sunscreens I bought are even okay for my kids and me to use safely.

Some of the products I use were on the list but the UTD on my bottles was not listed on the documents. I'm fine with that and not worried. And it won't stop me from using sunscreen! 🧴😎🌞

Fla, it's currently 90, humid, rainy & on June 1, we entered the hurricane season. Love your ultra-informative vids & vlogs!
Happy Sunday Dr Dray!!! Thanks for all your wonderful content:)!! Can you please make a video for the unlucky few who get paradox hyperpigmentation from tretinoin (even if they use sunscreen religiously etc)? What is the cause of it (genetics?), what is there to do about? If this affects you is your only option to quit tretinoin..? Thank you so much!!!
If you are interested in HRT, ask questions and learn about how the prescription is produced. I could not take Premarin knowing the impact to animal lives, but that is just my view. I am only encouraging that women make informed decisions about the products and medications they buy and take. Edit: for more information, research PMU (pregnant mare urine).
I use an estradiol patch, which gives me a VERY low dosage daily, and each patch lasts four days. By the way, I’ve been around horses since I was 8 years old, either riding, training, showing, or instructing. I have trained some PMU foals (once they were old enough), and one was a Percheron! I always told my students that they should not eat meat before they come for a lesson, because the horse will think you smell like a predator!
Hi, I use the Revolution Caffeine Serum. I like it. I have Rosacea and it doesn't sting or makes me sensitive. Also my redness on the cheeks is better when I use it. Have a nice day y'all 😚
The thing is…. If they only started testing for benzene this year, who knows if there was benzene in our sunscreen in all the previous years of our life? Meanwhile, I am using La Roche Posay sunscreens that are not even tested in this list since the chemical sunscreens we use here in Europe are not yet approved by the FDA in the USA and since the testing company is American, these are not even available for testing. The whole situation is a MESS. But, considering that La Roche is pretty reputable, that most of the La Roche sunscreens they tested (besides the spray) were found negative, and that I’ve been using sunscreen since I was a child when these things were not even tested…. I figure I’ll just keep using sunscreen :(
Thank you Dr. Dray for addressing the needs of menopausal women. The anti-aging game is all about prevention (which is great!) but those of us who grew up in the 70s and earlier, we can sometimes feel like it’s too late for us. HRT does make a huge difference in the skin on my body! It’s alligator skin vs. hydrated skin. As you mentioned HRT is not an option for those who feel they can’t take the risk. Between my own hysterectomy in my 40s and a friend’s battle with breast cancer, I have experience a LOT of dismissive behavior from physicians. It seems no one is looking to help us manage it; we just have to accept it. Would love it if you could do a series for menopausal women and skin care. Just to know we are not forgotten. 💕
I noticed the other day that my local Target had a display for Function of Beauty shampoo in the hair care aisle. Purchase the base shampoo and some “add ins” to personalize the shampoo for your specific needs. Have a great Sunday! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
They've had that for some months now. They have four hair formulas and 10 add ins. The base shampoo and conditioner have their peach scent though for folks who might not like that. She mentioned it in another shop with me video.
@@db-gb5xi I started ordering it last year; if you want their products color and fragrance free, you still have to order from their website. Happy Sunday!
I am on HRT for 4 years now. I was lucky that I could go on it. My sleep is soooo much better and no longer super cranky. No more aches and pains......for now lol. It has greatly slowed my aging. I had no pre-existing health problems which is the biggest factor in whether it is a good fit for someone. HRT is the only prescription I am on so no chance of interactions with another med, etc. There is no family history of breast disease. I still have my uterus so HRT helps protect me from uterine/female cancer, according to my gyno. She had no hesitation on prescribing it and it was a godsend for me. Everyone is different and has their own story.
I am sure Dr Dray uses this before she puts on another layer which is zinc based and white so they cancel each other out. Her face was perfect in the car.
My sunscreens were not on either list. I threw away my inexpensive sunscreens, but I kept my more expensive sunscreens that I don’t use every day…but I won’t be reordering them. Liking my new everyday picks!
Please can you do a video on skin care and procedures (e.g. for things like scarring, retinols, laser therapy, fillers) for people with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?
If a sunscreen you own is on the list for testing positive, but it doesn’t match the lot number listed in the study should those be thrown out as well? Thanks for any advice anyone can give!
Happy Sunday Dr Dray! Your sweatshirt looks coral/pink to me. Enjoyed the Target trip and your thoughts on benzene. Nice little Sprouts haul. Hope you had a wonderful weekend! 💙
Just came across a sample of Gloves in a Bottle Shielding Lotion from several years ago. Currently is highly rated on Amazonian. Love to see a review on "shielding lotions". Happy Sunday!
Happy Sundayyyy 🌞 I finally took the plunge on ordering (kinda) contraband Differin and I’m so excited 👀 Looking forward to my whole face falling off and being replaced with a brand new face. That’s how this works, right?
Living in Vegas is like living anywhere but the dryness will reek havoc on your sling and allergies and sinus and congestion. My hone is about 30 minutes north of the strip. The strip just sound crazy to us.
I really like that Revolution brand. They’re a big affordable beauty brand in the UK that’s growing in popularity here in places like Target and Ulta. I’m glad you found them and said it looks promising because that’s generally how I feel about them too! Some stuff is BS like any other brand but some stuff is pretty solid.
Happy Sunday Dr Dray and everyone! Thank you again for your recommendation of Prosacea. It has helped get rid of my rosacea flare ups from wearing masks.
@@whitneybrown4067 hello Whitney I hope that you're doing well today. For some reason , I'm suffering from allergies today, sneezing a bit with sniffles.
Assalaam Alaikum everyone from California. I am late to class sorry, lol. Have a great Sunday everyone. Please be nice to each other and don’t take anything for granted, lol. Remember tomorrow is not promised. Sending love and prayers to you all lovelies. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for passing the links to the benzene containing list and not containing list! My mineral sunscreen from Australian gold is thankfully on the not detected list... I've applied so much of it today that it really would have been bad to find out it was detected in it!
I live in Vegas, by & large people who live here aren't bothered by tourists because it's not that common for a local to actually choose to go to the Strip.. (if you do you know what you are in for). Also, obviously many Vegas locals work in the service industry so more tourists = more money. If you don't work in that industry you wouldn't necessarily come in contact with tons of tourists.
The sentiment that the benzene level is the same as sitting traffic doesn’t make sense to me. If you can avoid it easily then why wouldn’t you? People live where they live, go to work, etc. One doesn’t have to use one of the sunscreens on the positive list when there are so many on the negative list.
Do you have an opinion on soy? I am a 25 year old woman, and ever since I've been drinking soy milk daily and completely cut out cows milk and most other dairy, I have noticed a stark improvement in my skin. It is glowing. I do other things for acne so I can't say if that's what helped or not, but my acne is better too. Besides my skin looking young and healthier, my body feels better too. Maybe you have a video about this already that you can reference. Thanks
I love the way you say wiser I'm 60 so I do appreciate it. I went through breast cancer a couple of years ago I am not a candidate at all for HRT and before that I just didn't have any interest in taking them too many side effects to worry about. I have a question how do you stand a sweatshirt on when it's so hot that boggles my mind and it looked pinkish to me not red LOL God bless
Loved your video. The sweatshirt is nice. Looks like a coral color, which is pretty:). I live in Kingman Arizona which is very dry. I love it here. People are super friendly and its very affordable to live here, because me and my hubby are just on Social Security.. have a great week and again thank you so much for your videos:)
I am definitely still using sunscreen. I kinda have to, it's really sunny, hot and dry here. I've been realizing my skin does better with very greasy/moisturizing sunscreens even if I don't really love how shiny I look, so I just roll with it. Btw guys!!!! I just tried Mustela's hybrid sunscreen!! It has very little white cast and pretty lightweight, so I recommend y'all to try it if you can get your hands on it!!
Dr Dray, I recently purchased the zapzyt cleanser you recommended in one of your recent videos! Was curious if i can use albolene as a first step or if the salicylic acid wouldn’t be able to penetrate the pores?
I don't use Zapzyt cleanser, however I do use Panoxyl which has benzoyl peroxide. My routine is, Albolene, to rid of makeup and sunscreen, the Equate cleanser version (Walmart) of CeraVe (they have the same ingredients and it's only $3!) I use the cleanser to make sure that all the oil gunk is off of my face, and my final step is Panoxyl. My face loves me for it! So I'm pretty positive it will penetrate! ☺
A lot of things are harmful for us. We could get food from a resteraunt and then have food poisoning. The great thing about the body is we can overcome a lot. As long as we eat right and make better choices. Ive overcome my auto immune disease by cutting out bread for 3 years now I can eat bread again. And tonight I accidentally forgot about this *problem* about the ingredient stuff thinking the baby lotion would be safe. Had a case of athletes feet and rubbed the lotion on it. It absorbed already but them I washed my feet and threw the bottle away Lol!! I'm not gonna die or suddenly gain health problems. Just look at ex drug addicts. God is good you guys do what you can nothing's perfect. We probably have put this stuff on us before. Honestly when I was growing up I was not educated on anything I thought all of it was safe! I used to use hairspray, suave shampoo, just whatever.
So dissappointed because I used Raw Minerals Tinted sunscreen (just for like a week cause it honestly sucked) and it made their positive list!! and I literally only used it because I didn't want to feel like I wasted my money on a bogus sunscreen with horrible spreadability and super oiliness and now I know it had BENZENE! ugh!! I'm also annoyed the sustainability movement isn't talking about how their brand had BENZENE in their sunscreens but it's still recommended in environmentally friendly shops. priorities people!!
Hey Dr. Dray. Your sweatshirt in the car looks salmon color. Ooooh I love comfy sweatshirts. Thank you for keeping up informed on things we need to be informed about. 😘
But I think Dr. Dray needs to clarify that the lists are very specific to the Batch, Lot, Exp Date, Type, etc., etc. So it's not based on the brand, but based on when it was manufactured. So you need to match all data for those sunscreens that were on the contaminated list and same for those that were not on the contaminated list. Otherwise, it just means that they weren't tested.
'We're not putting our faces in exhaust pipes and getting right on in there 😂' when your education comes with comedy 🙌🦄. So much love from sunny South Africa
The benzene free list is only that specific batch or lot. We don’t know if other batches were contaminated. Is it possible to buy these specific good batch products? I just bought an spf from the good list but the batch numbers are not the same. So is it really safe? I’m just concerned and I feel stuck because I like wearing spf but I’m legitimately scared because I do reapply 3 or 4 times a day because I live in the desert. And I’m very meticulous about spf usage.
That tinted sunscreen application SOOOO close to a white head band was the not the suspense/horror content I was expecting today!!! haha
And also the eyelid application my eyes were watering!
I know right?? 😱 😂

"not gettin' up in that exhaust pipe" made me laugh.😆
Please can you do a video on skin care and procedures (e.g. for things like scarring, retinols, laser therapy, fillers) for people with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?
Willie Nelson said in a video worrying causes cancer. He probably has a point. And yay hibiscus tea! It is such a lovely color. It tastes good too.
If a sunscreen you own is on the list for testing positive, but it doesn’t match the lot number listed in the study should those be thrown out as well? Thanks for any advice anyone can give!
Personally I’d throw it out if you have finances to replace it.
I am always looking for new news digests so thx for the rec! Signed up :)
Seriously, it’s impossible to read all the news we’re confronted with!
Thanks for the content! Hope you, your mom and Tybee boy are having a nice weekend :)

Happy Sunday Jackie!! 😀
Happy Sunday Dr Dray! Your sweatshirt looks coral/pink to me. Enjoyed the Target trip and your thoughts on benzene. Nice little Sprouts haul. Hope you had a wonderful weekend! 💙
Thank you for discussing HRT!!! Super helpful!
Dr. Dray you are my doctor from now on. I have purchased many of your recommendations and have loved them especially the Kerasal foot cream .
Just came across a sample of Gloves in a Bottle Shielding Lotion from several years ago. Currently is highly rated on Amazonian. Love to see a review on "shielding lotions". Happy Sunday!
I love gloves in a bottle. They sell at most ACE hardwares (US)
Happy Sundayyyy 🌞
I finally took the plunge on ordering (kinda) contraband Differin and I’m so excited 👀 Looking forward to my whole face falling off and being replaced with a brand new face. That’s how this works, right?
It can help with sun spots
@@DrDrayzday That’s so good to know, I wasn’t sure if it would. Hoping for some acne exorcism too 🙌❤️

OMG I am soooo happy you made a video on this - I was definitely freaking out over my Sun Bum having benzene and needed clarity!!
Wow! That’s fantastic!💖
Good day Doctor Dray and everyone! Let me get my updates on this benzene!
Happy Sunday

@@whitneybrown4067 hello Whitney I hope that you're doing well today. For some reason , I'm suffering from allergies today, sneezing a bit with sniffles.
Thanks Dr Dray. I'm glad we're not crusty 😂.
The sweatshirt looks watermelon red.
Your sweatshirt looks more coral in color to me. Actually very pretty color on you!
Happy Sunday Dr.Andrea!!🙋♀️☕💙
Happy Sunday Evening!! I Hope Your Day Was Great, and I Hope You Have a Fabulous Evening!!

@@jackiemarsh2470 Thank you Jackie sweetheart. You have a great Sunday my friend. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for passing the links to the benzene containing list and not containing list!
My mineral sunscreen from Australian gold is thankfully on the not detected list... I've applied so much of it today that it really would have been bad to find out it was detected in it!
Also, nice to see what's at Target since it was a total fail here in Canada, even though a lot of us loved it!!
I used to live on the US CA border. Our Target and Trader Joe’s was full of Canadians. I feel for you, I would be sad without them! 😍
@@brigitte9999 I would like a Trader Joe's here as well!!
Happy Sunday!☺️
Happy Sunday
Dr. Dray, the sunscreen that you applied looks fantastic on you..... very pretty. Thank you for all the research you do to keep us safe and informed.
Would love a video on skincare for dry climates👍
I'm putting on sunscreen too. Happy Sunday

Thanks
I doubt if it’s the soy milk, as much as it is the absence of dairy! Enjoy your weekend🌷
@@vetsai8199 that might be it! Whatever it is, I will continue! My skin looks amazing
@@scarlett9939 Dairy causes acne for me.
Looks pink 💖 that men’s shirt. Comfy!
❤ As someone from Nevada, ummm, no comment on the Las Vegas mention.
😂😂
The shirt looks more pink to me. Happy Sunday. Thank you another great upload. 👍
It’s orange loser
@@orlandoblooom well you clearly did not watch the video and have no idea what shirt I'm commenting about. 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the reasonable update.
Thanks for watching
I love the way you say wiser I'm 60 so I do appreciate it. I went through breast cancer a couple of years ago I am not a candidate at all for HRT and before that I just didn't have any interest in taking them too many side effects to worry about. I have a question how do you stand a sweatshirt on when it's so hot that boggles my mind and it looked pinkish to me not red LOL God bless
This sunscreen matches your skin tone perfectly!💀 happy Sundayy💛
Thanks! Happy Sunday
😂😂😂😂😂😂😫
lol 💀 it's so dark on her, i'm actually wondering if a fitzpatrick IV could wear this
Happy Sunday Dr Dray!
Same to you!
Thank you for that tidbit at the end! It makes me feel even better about being on HRT! 👍🏻💕😊
Those Morning Sickness Sweets are delish! Treat yourself!
It has very little white cast and pretty lightweight, so I recommend y'all to try it if you can get your hands on it!!
the lemon ultima isn't very good. It's all sour and no sweet.
I do miss seeing those bedtime bonnet 👩🏻🍳 segments I went through a bit of a withdrawal period but no support group was necessary 😂
lol! i need to bring that back
@@DrDrayzday I’d wear it even being bald!
Lol! I miss them too! 👩🚀 Happy Sunday, Uncle Charlie! I hope your weekend was fantastic! 😁

Dr Dray, I recently purchased the zapzyt cleanser you recommended in one of your recent videos! Was curious if i can use albolene as a first step or if the salicylic acid wouldn’t be able to penetrate the pores?
You could probably test it and see how it works.
Your sweatshirt looks like a dark pink color. Definitely not red. Thanks for all the info. Love watching you!
Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday
Loving the hairband from Etude House! I'm wearing the same one right now doing my nighttime routine.
Hi Dr Dray ! Is it true that certain chemicals in your sunscreen can actually make your face darker ?
Hey Dr. Dray. Your sweatshirt in the car looks salmon color. Ooooh I love comfy sweatshirts. Thank you for keeping up informed on things we need to be informed about. 😘
thanks so much and have a great Sunday
You too
But I think Dr.
Don't you think the FDA should install a benzene test for all products from now on? They should start testing for other contaminants too...
The sweatshirt looks coral/watermelon color to me.
The orange 🍊 sunscreen matches your orange 🍊 shirt!
The spice blends from The Spice House are amazing. Same for the pepper flakes from Flatiron Pepper Co. definitely recommended 👍🏽⭐️
Have a great day, Dr. Dray!
I'd personally avoid the companies with the most contaminated products. Ex Neutrogena is a no go for me right now
Have a great day!
Happy Sunday
