It's nice to hear a doctor admit that some doctors repeat each other without seeing research to back it up. I think of all the pain, expense, lost time, and frustration I've experienced being sent from doctor to doctor to hear them conclude it's just woman pain. I knew it was more, did my research, and went to a specialist in another town. The specialist listened to my history and ordered a basic x-ray that showed non-union fractures. Any of the doctors could have ordered the x-ray, but instead they kept trying to tell me it was a woman issue. After having surgery to fuse the fractures, the pain is still there, but at least I now feel supported to stand and walk. Thanks Dr. D for reminding people to do the research beyond what 1 doctor or an echo chamber says. ❤
Thank you for touching on issues for various ethnic groups 🙏🏽

A strategy I sometimes use to more indirectly challenge authority is to say something along the lines of, “I find this idea very interesting. Do you recall any sources I might read to deepen my understanding?” Yes, it is a passive approach to questioning. But, as you said, some situations require a softer touch.
This is a wonderful method! Sometimes it can lead them to becoming interested to finding more evidenced based research to help you and themselves.
That first bit of silence in the car gave me "I just had an argument with my best friend now they're not talking to me" vibes! lol! I was like.. what did I DO?!!
You know it’s serious when she doesnt say “Well, hey guys” .
I did but now that I am watching this back I see I accidentally deleted the intro clip 😳
@@DrDrayzday You seem sad today. I hope everything is okay💜
Great clip Dr. Dray! This is why it's so important as a Doctor to always stay current on the new data and current science. In my opinion..there are too many doctors who don't. They are not critical thinkers and stay stuck in how they were taught in school..as if it will stay true forever. I think it should be required to go into medicine to stay current. You are a gem and we so appreciate you and your ongoing research🌺
I could hear the windshield wipers going and rainy days always get me down! LOL! Remember that song by The Carpenters I think? I think the sentence was rainy days and Mondays always get me down.
Oh yeah... we knew something was coming 😐
I am an NP focusing on women’s health. The one I hear repeatedly from my usually male consulting MD’s is than bacterial vaginosis (BV) is an STD and if a woman says she hasn’t had activity that would contribute, she is not telling the truth. That makes me crazy! It’s almost a blaming/ shaming.
Geeeeeez 😟

You’re a wealth of knowledge and great critical thinker. You would be a great mother or mentor to any young people beyond RUclips. You’ve already changed the lives of the many people you’ve reached online
I completely agree. I'm studying to be an esthetician and i had an argument over Vitamin E for scars with my teacher. She said I undermined her because her only come back was 'that was what i was taught'. I value everything you teach me every day. I graduate in two weeks and i'm so grateful for all the free information you give to everyone, and I plan on using it when I start working. I appreciate that you have been with me over the last two years of college and that it has helped me so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you

Funny, my co-worker just came back from carpal tunnel surgery and said the surgeon told her to put vitamin E oil on her incision but I said no, "my" dermatologist said that's a no-no! LOL
Were you for or against it?
Being a patient can be extremely taxing and emotionally draining at times. Sometimes it feels like doctors are regurgitating a textbook chapter rather than really looking to solve your problem. When I finally mustered up the courage to tell my gynecologist that I was experiencing a lot of pain outside of my cycle and nearly passing out during menstruation, she chuckled and said “okay, and? You’re a woman, that’s standard”. I pushed back a little and explained that the pain was extreme and I was calling out of work multiple times per month, her response was that I must just be overly sensitive then and should try taking a tylenol. I asked if we could do an ultrasound to just confirm nothing was going on and she rolled her eyes and told me there was no need. I cried the entire way home and then called a different doctor. She immediately started digging for the problem and I soon found out that I have stage 4 endometriosis, chronic endometriomas (blood filled cysts of my ovaries), uterine polyps and suspected PCOS. As sad as it was to be diagnosed with a medical condition, more than anything I felt VINDICATED. You are your own best advocate... if your doctor isn’t listening to you, FIRE THEM.
There’s a show on Netflix that I enjoy: Derry Girls. In one episode the principal of the school tells this one girl, the smart goody two shoes type, when she is the last one to break a rule on an important day, she needs to “learn to push back.” Similar theme...we should all be so lucky to have teachers and mentors who help us question things and break the patterns when needed.
Ugh. I love Derry Girls
"I think it's safe to say we all just lost a bit of respect for you there, Clare."
Yeah and then you'll start to realize how screwed up the world really is.
Can you please do a video about your journey on becoming a dermatologist. I would love to hear your story.
Your new videos have been so heart warming because it shows a little glimpse of your sweet and goofy side! Living for it! As an esthetician I really appreciate these videos that shed light on misinformation in the skincare community. Thank you so much for making these!
Thanks for watching
I was told my alopecia (lost my eyebrows, eyelashes, and had patches of bald spots) was due to me using relaxers and tension. I kept saying that I do not pull my hair tight, my scalp is sensitive and how does my lashes and eyebrows fall out? The doctor argued me down and made me feel less than. I left crying.
I’m sorry that happened to you 🖤
I hope doctors receive a more intersectional education or approach - I’ve been misdiagnosed many times until I was recommended to a derm specializing in skin of colour. I always find myself having to bulk up my examples and have a thorough timeline because of how often I’ve not been understood or listened to
I am so sorry that happened as well and I was told I have the alopecia that Dr.Dre spoke of in this video but I have never ever had the symptoms that she describes. I'm pretty certain I have had a misdiagnosis because I did some reading on the topic yet I still don't know what to do about it. I think dr. Dre has a video on alopecia but maybe not on the different types. Hopefully she will expand on that particular type and tell us more because she says she has felt at a loss of what to say to a patient when they have not had relaxers and when it doesn't run in your family. It does not run in my family.
You are NOT less than. I'm sorry you were made to feel that way.
I’m sorry you had that experience. I’ve also had a bad doctor...did not listen that I was having physical health problems and convinced me it was all my anxiety. She was also very rude and short with me, as if my pain wasn’t real. Was on a bunch of meds for a year that really messed up my head. Found out later from a different doctor that I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It’s upsetting how much time I wasted with that first doctor and damage that may have been caused to my mind.
It's scary to think that those who have our health in their hands could be following perpetuated myths. Thank God for those doctors like you who question and help advance medical knowledge.
I just adore Dr. Dray’s affect, she exudes a formidable intelligence in this innocent, yet totally approachable way.
agreed. she's so smart and i just love her energy.

Dr. Dray thank you for clarifying the 8 glasses of water a day saying. I work in health & wellness and started explaining to patients 20 years ago that “fluid intake”, mislabeled as water intake depends on many factors and the best indicator is looking at your urine, absent vitamins. Is it pale yellow? You’re hydrated.
Omg I remember the first time I took vitamin B complex 😢 I was so scared something was wrong with me lol. Didn't know urine could be fluorescent yellow 😂😂

I always imagine Dr.s driving a Benz but I love that shes one deep in a Mazda. I absolutely love her making us rethink everything on every level.
My aunt is an anesthesiologist and she drives a Honda SUV. She invests her money in real estate, not fancy cars.
When you are confident, you don’t have to impress anyone.
I agree. I appreciate her showing how physicians really live....like everyone else. And with less free time. Lots of sacrifice to get into and through med school...and then the same for residency.💗
@@vegasgirl3538 Real estate I love that! I wish I knew how to renovate because the motels and multi-dwelling units where I live are so cheAp

Thank you for using your enormous platform to promote healthy skepticism. We need more inquisitive and educated content creators who are willing to debunk myths and encourage the masses to think critically. Good on you for always being unlike those closed-minded, at-times-power-tripping, and generally incurious individuals in positions of authority, despite that, given your own position of authority and influence as a board-certified dermatologist and immensely popular content creator, your wealth of knowledge, and your expertise, you easily could be.
Yes! I'm a speech therapist and there's a lot of non-truths that circulate in the profession similarly to what you're describing
Agree
I’m very new in practicing medicine. You just became that mentor to teach me to look everything up and not take everything you are told at face value! There have been moments where I have thought something didn’t seem right and after some research, have found newer studies. I still did that with a lot of trepidation because why would someone so new question what you are taught!
My family has had wonderful help from new and young doctors. They are often much more open to take a second look and dig a little more. Such a doctor discovered one kid was severely allergic to an antibiotic. Another one found the right treatment for a serious stomach problem that experienced experts didn't take seriously at all. Yet another one found broken bones an experienced doctor said weren't broken, eventhough there were no x-rays.
So true about the water thing. If I drink that much water, I'm in the bathroom all night and that's not good for sleep. How about the repetitive belief that if you feel thirst it means you're already dehydration -- such B-crap. What happened to the simple concept of eating when hungry, drink when thristy --What happen to common sense???
Exactly, like animals. They grow old with drinking water as they want. Finally, someone said it about water!
Exactly. I was drinking a huge amount of water everyday the last time I had kidney stones and it made me fatigued. I was washing the minerals out of my blood supply from what my doc told me. I stopped with that large of intake and felt much better. Plus yes as we get older the less water before bed the better.
Dray, you should teach. You would be so so good, and a professor students would love and respect.
"Adulthood can make you stiff." Understatement of the year! 😄
My youngest son gets migraines and having him drink electrolytes during and after his dance classes/rehearsals has significantly reduced them.
My go-to when I feel a migraine coming on: magnesium. Also when I’m feeling wheezy. Crying shame that I only learned about it in my 50s. 40 years of nauseating and debilitating migraines and never being able to exercise because of asthma.
My sister was coming home from work everyday with a migraine. She started eating an egg every morning, and they went away. I found the same thing....If I start my day with an egg (and a piece of toast or cereal/fruit, whatever), the chance of getting a headache greatly reduces. An egg is a good way to start your day!
ironically if found that caffeine helps a lot when i feel an incoming migraine!
Oh wow I did NOT know that! Thank you for your story!🙏🏻 know you’ve helped at least ONE person, actually 2, coz my son gets them as well 🌹❤️🙏🏻
I FREAKIN KNEW IT! I knew the touted gallons of water we apparently needed every day was utter rubbish. Vindication.
In the beauty industry it's very difficult to get at the facts. Great video as usual Andrea.

I had water intoxication a few years ago and it took about 6 months to recover from it- I wouldn’t recommend it 😅. Could not agree with your more about the electrolytes... surprised you didn’t rant a little there about how serious it could be. But glad you mention how important they are because you’ve got a big reach and not everyone knows. Happy Sunday ☀️
I think she popped up a video link about water during the time she was speaking about it. I'm definitely going to check that one out.
Yogabish, I also had water intoxication or hyponatremia from trying to increase my fluid intake when I was breastfeeding my baby. It was scary!
Would LOVE you to talk about your ballet career experience!

My *favorite* country in the world!💖
In the alternative medicine, we’ve always been taught to question things over and over again and it is something I find hard to find in the more traditional medicine. My veterinarian friend as example, feels almost insulted that I would question things, it’s challenging for her and she dislikes it a LOT ( not gonna stop ever tough lol). But yeah, thanks for addressing this. I feel we need more communication in this world and less being on the defensive as it is always a good thing to introspect.
This is why I follow you. Just real, thorough information. Wether people like to hear it or not you always make a good point and I appreciate that. Take care❤️
This is the first time I have heard a medical professional talk about what specific "fact" he or she has been taught in school versus what the research shows. Bravo! As a patient, sometimes I get acceptance and sometimes I get push back when I provide studies to support what I think is right for my care. Three P.A.s ago there was push back but the more recent P.A.s, who are younger, have been more receptive to the same studies.
Best part of my day is cafe Bustelo and Dr Dray! Have a great Sunday! ❤️
Happy Sunday
Yay Cafe Bustelo!!!!! And of course Dr. Dray
The pushback against recommending fragrance free finally reached the tipping point with a hugely popular skin youtuber (I find him very entertaining) saying that advice should stop. Lots of "skinfluencers" call it fear mongering and try to lowkey shame dermatologists on social media by saying their experience is limited to a problem few and that they are being hysterical. I disagree; that advice has been immensely helpful to me and a lot of other people. Can it be fear mongering if doctors base their advice on data and experience? What ulterior motives could they have?
I’ve reread this and I’m not sure why, but I’m still a bit confused, did you mean that we shouldn’t be too fearful of fragrance?
@@tiffphan1051 No.
I am a big coffee drinker (regular coffee maker, by the liter LOL) and have one of those big thermoses with a pump. I am happy to find out that coffee does not dehydrate. I mean I drink about 1 to 2 L of water a day as well, either carbonated or plain, it depends. I just do it not because I impose it upon myself that "I should drink water else I might get dehydrated" no, just... because that's what I do. I just often let things go in one ear and out the other, especially if it's "beliefs" and "opinions". I have been struggling with a disability & chronic nerve pain for 25+ years now (ever since age 23, and I am going to be 49 this year) and I have heard a lot of "opinions", trust me. ;) Thank goodness I have a great family doctor / PCP / GP, whatever it is in your country (I'm from Belgium) who can put things in perspective very well. Loved the vlog! :)
Thanks for bringing up the 8 glasses of water belief! I get that new idea of not drinking 8 glasses several months or a year(?) ago too. It can depend on your age (child vs adult) or your active levels (working indoors vs outdoors). So it's not necessarily a one-size-fits-all thing 🙂
I think if authority is questioned in a way that shows the person is asking in order to learn more and not in a confrontational, arrogant manner it would be better received. Not always.....but maybe sometimes? 🤷🏻♀️
Dr. Dray, thank you so much for bringing up this topic. I don't go to "older" and/or "old school" physicians anymore for the very same reasons you are pointing out today. And when someone claims to be board-certified, guys, just make sure it wasn't 20 years ago. I look things up now, read abstracts and evidence-based documentation ... ever since I realized how much misinformation I had been getting over the years for my health issues. I have great physicians now whom I trust completely. Thank you so much and have a great Sunday! 💖🌻🌹🌼
This is a good point. There's value in experience but also they need to keep up with current studies and technology/techniques
Age doesn't matter to me as much as knowledge, honesty, and a willingness for open communication. My most recent dermatologist is young, but I had to write a critical review to get her to treat me well during a second visit. I don't know if race or class came into play, but it often does, and I believe it did here. I don't think she even believed I could communicate my thoughts, not that she was waiting around to hear them. (And yes, it was scalp issues. Not one question was asked of my lifestyle or history.) So many factors play into finding a good doctor. I will save the horror show that has been young psychiatrists for a different discussion.
@@ajae... I can certainly empathize with you and share your frustration, as I've experienced very similar situations as yours over the years. And don't even get me started on "young" psychiatrists. I totally get it. That'll take another whole video.
Have a great day, sending vibrant positive thoughts to you from Nice, French Riviera
Thank you so much
WOW!
Another thing that Physicians used to say is hearing aids do not help nerve damage when it comes to hearing loss. I can't tell you how many people have suffered without the benefit of hearing aids when hearing aids are exactly 4 sensorineural, neural being nerve, hearing loss. Conductive and mixed losses can be treated with medication or surgery where is sintra Newell hearing loss cannot so a hearing aid would be the only treatment to be considered. There are other things now but at the time patients were being told this, it was apparently something that the physician even the ENT s were taught and they just accepted that.
Wow I have single sided hearing loss since last year and told aids wouldn't help or do any long term good...
Thanks for talking about water intake. I called my doctor because I was using the restroom too much and one of the first things she asked was how much liquid/water I intake. I just never made that connection, but turns out you could indeed be drinking too much water! There's a thought.
@@lina_adventures might want to go get that checked out.
@@lina_adventures As long as you got it checked, than I guess your fine. I was just telling you to get it checked out because during my residency in Internal medicines, usually when someone came in because they urinated a lot, it usually ended up being that they had diabetes.
Glad to hear you got it checked out and ended up being fine.

Dr. Dray hits another one out of the park! Spot on! 💜 - grabbed an extra coffee for this one!
I experienced this a lot in the military. Being junior enlisted it’s hard to speak up when things are just drilled into you and you know there may be a better newer way of doing something but the senior enlisted or even officers will say “no we do things this way because we’ve always done it this way”. I think it’s just important to be open to new ideas and different perspectives in all aspects of life. Thank you for another great video!
I always make my coffee before sitting down to watch your video just because as soon as I see you pour that coffee I want one.

The info you mentioned regarding Biotin s very interesting to me, as it is scary to think that it can interfere with certain blood work. I actually take biotin as I heard this can help the health of my hair and nails .I guess I need to rethink this, and have a conversation earn my doc
I was told by a dermatologist to take biotin because of my alopecia but didn't know until I started watching Doctor Dre that it could interfere with my labs. I still take it oh, I even increased the milligrams because the doctor never scheduled me for a follow-up appointment to see if it was working. He never did any blood work either to see if perhaps I had another condition causing the problem. Now I just stop taking it a week before I expect to have labs so maybe when I have my next labs I will stop taking it 3 weeks before and then ask to have my biotin levels checked if that's possible. Why take it if I don't really need it oh, it's just a waste of my money and could be detrimental to my health.

You are almost toooo intelligent, it must be hard living in such a stupid world when you’re so intelligent ❤️
Hahahahah, agreed, she makes the best of it too and maintains grace. Reminds me of the timeless, classy, pragmatic yet ladylike ways of my grandmothers.
I’m a critical care nurse and I’m going to be having a baby in September...now that I’m looking into actually being a patient in my own hospital, one of the things I’m most worried about is how I will be perceived by the other nurses and doctors if I question current standard practices related to my care...I so don’t want come across as “that patient” that’s mistrusting of all caregivers for no reason, but it seems like some some of the research I’ve read (read, not just heard about through the rumor mill) points to some “sacred cows” when it comes to maternity care. Very cool of you to discuss this culture in medicine that many of us feel and should push back against :)
How did it go?

I've recently found joy in playing with skincare and beauty products. I like the subscription boxes and all that. But I'm glad to come across this channel early on so when I actually invest in a daily product, I'm making educated decisions between need/like/just no.
I push back to authority or people in general all the time and it gets me into trouble all the time. You need a thick skin to go this road (especially as a woman). I was a very fiery kid in my school days already and that's when the punishing and shaming started (from my parents and teachers) until I completely retreated into myself and stopped interacting normally. Messed me up pretty good back in the day but now as an adult I can navigate the road much better and decide for myself how to express myself and find a balance and diplomacy.
I really appreciate your simple well researched information. What I love most is that you are so inclusive. You have information for every skin type and color. You are remarkable.
Thank you for talking about Black women and chemical relaxers. Many conditions that affect mainly AA people are not adequately researched and doctors don’t admit they don’t know the answer or research further.
I started suffering from hair thinning after my grandmother died last year. It was something I noticed about 4-5 months after which seems in line with hair loss from stress, because it was a major loss in my life. But around the same time I’d bleached the crap out of my hair and truly felt that it exacerbated what was already happening, even though hair dressers were telling me that it couldn’t affect hair growth at baseline. I appreciate that what you’re getting at is that relaxers don’t cause hair loss in and of themselves, but it is validating to hear that they can actually contribute to a worsening of what’s already happening. So glad in a way that I freaked out and stopped messing with my poor hair.

What sucks is that some doctors take it the wrong way if you ask too many questions or for studies/evidence. Like it’s a personal insult to their pride. Then they categorize you as a difficult patient and behave very dismissively. Of there are lots of understanding doctors who don’t mind explaining too though.

Happy Sunday to you, your mom and Tybee! Thanks for the content. Watching this cuddled with my yellow labs ❤️
Hope you are having a great day
This video hit home with me. I have (had, my mother in-law recently passed) in-laws that were like this. They didn't question anything told to them by their doctors. If the doctor said it, it MUST be true, and we weren't to question it. They would say so many things that raised the red flag with me, but then again, I wasn't to question it.
Fellow Texas chica here & I have a question- might you be able to recommend some sunscreens from abroad or rather, those unavailable to buy in the US, that you would suggest checking out if one was traveling and interested in bringing some home? I really enjoy your channel and would appreciate any suggestions you can make.
Your video a few weeks ago featured a European sunscreen a viewer sent you that sounded really nice, and that compelled me to ask you.
I’ve watched you for a few years now and know you’ve mentioned some in the past but was curious whether you currently had some on your radar or short list to try yourself, maybe some nice ones have caught your attn.
I’d be great fun if you can even just share what companies/brands are reputable or well regarded but unable to get in the US.
Could be a video idea... sunscreen or skincare products to buy while traveling, or also what to avoid haha! Perhaps even touching on tourist traps e.g. fish pedicure, or danger of things like hotel hot tubs, whether you can catch diseases from hot springs and mud baths, and if popular treatments at spas,Turkish baths, or saunas and ice baths actually good/ beneficial for skin?
Anyways-
I love stopping in European pharmacies, but never thought to buy sunscreens unless needed during travel. I know even in Mexican stores, you can find brands and product types available from popular/OTC brands like Garnier, L’Oréal etc... that aren’t found here. Ive had several instances when I needed to buy face/hair products on my trip, fell in love with things I bought, then was unable to find a similar product within the US- even in the same product line .
So I’ve been thinking that the first chance I’d get to hop over to Mexico, stop into a Caribbean isle (some have a strong European influence), or travel further away, it’s definitely something on my list to check out.
Thanks a lot.
one that my previous hair stylist kept telling me was that if you trim hair it will make it grow faster. Like she believed it stimulated the follicular growth of hair. I was like??? I can't believe a hairstylist believes that. By the way I am on week 4 of the Irestore Professional.
I was told awhile ago that the only thing trimming will really do is eliminate split ends.
I think I'm the sense that trims help you retain length by stopping split ends. A split end is like a run in stockings; it will just keep splitting up and up and up the hair shaft, causing weakness and breakage. So if you trim split ends before they can progress up the hair shaft, you will likely retain more length and add length over time. No, it certainly doesn't stimulate the hair follicle. The stylist may have misunderstood the mechanism but she wasn't wholly wrong.
It will grow faster in the sense that trimming the dead ends prevents breakage allowing the hair to maintain its health on the ends and not just randomly breaking making the hair ends look wispy and unhealthy. Any hair growth comes from the root which is why Maintaining a healthy scalp is so important. 😁
Well basically when your hair splits (split ends) the smaller pieces of the hair cuticle snap off which impacts on your hair length so while trimming hair doesn't literally make your hair grow faster, it does help the ends of the hair be strong and not snap off. You can always ask for a 'dusting' if you are concerned. It's basically a trim of 5mm or less depending on how far up the hair has split.
"Top Down" is dangerous. As a teacher, it happens to us all the time. It's just insulting and dangerous.
Happy Sunday Dr Dray and peeps ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 🥳🥳🥳

Happy Sunday, Dr. Dray! I ALWAYS look forward to your videos. I’ve truly learned a lot and has impacted my life in a positive way.
What you are saying is so true. As a non doc I always ask too many questions. They do NOT like it. Sad😣

@@whitneybrown4067 hi Whitney I hope you are having a good day as well. A better day for me because I can get on RUclips again but yesterday was a bag of mixed emotions because of two funerals of people we know but I also went to a baby shower. That was very joyful although some people say funeral should be also.
Happy Sunday Sable711 😊 hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing day enjoy the rest of your weekend friend 🥰🥰🌺🌺
@@marizzy63 hi Mary Ann, somewhat of a relaxing day until I thought my computer had died a few minutes ago, all better now and I hope you're having a great day as well!
Love the vlogs!!! and love the message here to ask for proof and to be fearless
What you said about alopecia in your first example is also an example of racism. It sounds like it's an easy way to blame black women and not help them. thank you for sharing!
I'm still appalled that some people still fall for such lies. Especially nowadays that we have so many resources, particularly the internet. Back then we only used to rely on sponsored ads, and if only we had such resources and people like Dr. Dray, we could've avoided so much mistakes, not to mention the lack of sunscreen awareness.. So we are already lucky nowadays, especially the youth. 🤷💕
How questioning a doctor? This is so uncomfortable from the patient point of view... my derm in France doesn’t want to prescribe me Tret (as antiage). I’m returning as I found a data that it could help my lichen plan body spots. But I don’t know how to read a medical study. How is he going to react when I show it to him and ask if it could help my case?? I don’t think he will appreciate... but have to try.
That’s a big question. Here in the states we have adapalene over the counter sold as Differin, it is also a retinoid but isn’t tretinoin. I used that for a year or so, then asked a doctor about tretinoin for hormonal acne (but in my mind also was wanting anti aging as you said, but didn’t mention that). My selling point was I already used adapalene for over a year, and was well in the habit applying sunscreen daily and reapplying. It’s a risk for physicians to prescribe strong medications. Stay safe and good luck.
@@msi8311 Hi! This doctor prescribed Adapelene that day (in France it’s on prescription only). So I hope that next time, he will see that I can tolerate it and do a step further with Tret. Specially if it can help me dealing with my lichen scars. It’d be a miracle if I can get rid of them after 7 years!
Hi, if he is a decent doctor he will be glad you brought the research article in and will research it more himself. Otherwise, hope you like the new doctor you're going to choose! Ask your friends who they see and what they think about them. I find it often doesn't go over well or I get some kind of response that I know is inaccurate.
I feel like you appear happier and more full of energy lately
my doctor told me to stop biotin at least two weeks before getting my thyroid tested as biotin affects the results. Thank you for mentioning that.
Happy Sunday Dr Dray love you and love this honest talk about stuff we all assume is truth!! Keep up the great work!
You make putting on sunscreen seem glamorous and now I love applying it everyday.
Hi Dr.Dray! Thank you for always putting out such amazing content. Some of my friends over quarantine used at home laser hair removal devices and have recommended them to me because it was super easy and all their unwanted hair is gone. I was wondering if you would do a video on the safety and efficiency of at home laser hair removal devices?
Happy Sunday from the Philippines!❤️ 🇵🇭
To you as well. I have relatives who once lived there for 3 years and my University roommate was from the Philippines!

Love this video Dr. Dray, I really appreciate your honesty and effort in making sure your viewers are always well informed by encouraging us to do our own research to check the facts and information we are presented with by doctors, the media and pretty much everyone else.
Yes, I am just like you, I love to do kale shopping at the grocery store. I walk around for hours just to see what is new. 😁🙌🙏❤️ God bless you.
Great info. And advice. I just had this happen with biotin and my thyroid bloodwork that I had to figure out myself 🙄. None of the staff/doctors even asked if I was taking supplements etc. I paid for bloodwork recently TWICE after starting a new thyroid meds and just started searching for info after my numbers where not matching how I felt. That’s when I discovered the biotin thing. So frustrating.
Those points you made about medical studies is so on point. thats one of the reasons whyI auite studyinf it quickly.
Oh typos. Typing in the dark
I only got to the 3rd minute of the video because I have to write this...medicine is not perfect! Research in whatever specialty can’t keep up with the needs of patients but there are so many scientists that are trying to move things forward. I clearly remember a time, not very long ago, when medicine didn’t really have a good understanding of conditions like Crohn’s, Celiac Disease, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and even MS. I so much want to see Dermatology keep pushing forward with research to help find treatments for skin conditions that are not well understood yet. I especially want to seem Dermatology bring new drugs to the market for common conditions like acne. Sorry, but the current treatments for cystic acne aren’t good enough.
Happy Sunday Dr Dray
Happy Sunday
Thanks for opening up the idea of questioning things you know or strongly sense are not right. It’s always a gamble to speak out, but if you open up a new way or an idea that later is proven, I guess it would be worth the controversy.
I love this one. I kept thinking of OB when you mentioned speaking up and questioning things. I had a VBAC this year, it was so difficult to achieve but I followed evidence and data to make my decisions
