Can tell you are a young guy by the way you manhandled that 2x4 with one hand while on your knees! 😊 With the mortar on the back, it had to go 40#'s!

Learned so much from you but the best one is the linoleum knife to clean the grout lines.

Have you ever tiled over cultured marble tub/shower surround? Mapei makes the adhesion products but in your experience is the marble usually secured (globs of silicone used) well enough to withstand the weight of tile (I'm using 3"x6" subway)?

Two questions BRT, do you think that eco-prim is a good solution when installing kitchen backsplash over existing painted drywall, and did grabo ever failed? Did it release the vacuum mid transport or something similar. Great video. Miss the BRT long format. Thanks

I think the eco prim is great for anything questionable. Provides a nice rough surface on anything! I have two grabos the new one I can’t seem to get to work? The rubber pad won’t sit right. The old beat up one is more dependable 👍

Some warning to people.who want to inatall large or very large format tiles on the floor.
I am still visiting a famy where we remodeled their 4 bathrooma and laundry room.
After a year the house floor shifts ans some.of thenlarge format tiles have hair size cracks.
If yoi house tends to shift a lot large size tiles tend to crack .
Somw.of them crack around vent registers .
So juat keep that in mind.

Is that not a case of a decoupling membrane not having been installed and / or the floor not having been sufficiently reinforced?

    • @EPICSOUNDTRAX
      @EPICSOUNDTRAX 2 месяца назад

      @@Participant616 the floor has everything.
I installed everything but still winter and summer floors bulge during humidity days and concave when it is dry.
Big tiles have bigger service and and they cannot absorb such movement and energy so they crack.
Small tiles have more grout gaps and they can "float" a little bit .bigger tiles cannot do that so they take all the force on their surface and they crack.
The cracks are not big they are like small hair .lile hair has fallen on the tile and when you try to remove the hair you notice it is a microscopic crack.
      This happens around registers .
So one of the solutions is some areas to be reinforced with steel plate over the register in the plywood then membrane and then tiles .
I already have seen this in the same house on two floors.
And the house is really well made.
Wooden houses move all the time.
