Got to say a massive respect to Everton Football Club for playing the original to Liverpool & their fans at Goodison Park in Liverpool away match just after the REAL TRUTH came out in summer 2012
Just sat down with my two teenage sons and discussed the facts and injustice that prompted this recording. None of us have any affinity to Merseyside or Liverpool FC but that day will provide a link to my heart with your city forever...I am proud of you all..God bless x
Kris Becker What a utterly disrespectful comment. EFC have stood shoulder to shoulder with LFC. So you are either about 12 years old or a fucking gloryhunting wool.
Your soo wrong on that x but listen to ferry cross the mersey then you might understand why some ain't that keen I think its ok but no comparison sorry x
I dislike it for a couple of reasons. I grew up listening to my mum playing The Hollies in the car and going to some concerts. Paul McCartney shouldn't have been given the guitar solo. Tony should have been given the guitar solo with Bobby playing the drums behind him. All you see of them is about 2 seconds. Tony sings one word and Bobby is just standing there because he can't sing so there was nothing for him to do. Then there was the harmonies that some of the singers decided to put on that absolutely murdered it. They were invited to sing it for the charity single so they should have sung it as it was written and not how they want to and definitely not screaming "He's my brother" as loud as possible like the woman did
Whilst i am a mad QPR fan ......This song melts my heart. Its not about soccer, its not even about sport.......its about humanity and the respect of life. None of these people deserved to die like this................they were all just sons, brothers, mums, uncles, dads, daughters etc out to watch a game of Football! I have to say, I was disappointed by some of the celebrities adding their own "harmonies" to an already perfect song and giving Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott one second on the video. They shouldn't have had Paul McCartney doing a guitar solo, it should have been Tony Hicks playing the guitar and have Bobby Elliott behind him playing on the drums. They deserved more time on the video being the only two originals left in the band who made the song a success. The majority of it was beautiful, it was them two things that made me hate the tiny part of the cover and the video that was made.

Lyrics:
The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another
It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother...
