Agree with everything you said in the review for the most part. I have this same exact model except mine has 16gbs of ddr4 3200 ram. I didn't even know the trackpad had a glass coating over it explains why it just feels so nice. But yeah guys who maybe in the comment section reading comments once you arent a person who must use a laptop in bright outdoors this laptop is brilliant. 100% recommend it to any students or anyone who needs a laptop and to make it cooler a 2 in 1 laptop. Oh yea also i dont know if you know techno but you can place the pen right under the trackpad and there is a magnet there that can hold it in place for you.
Thank you so much for your reviews. I got this laptop for Cyber Monday. I got the AMD 5, with upgrades to 400 nits , and got the upgraded wifi & Bluetooth. I got my sister in law the 17 in. I appreciate your reviews because 2 weeks ago I knew nothing. My husband was shocked when I said we need a ssd drive, not hhd. 400 nits not 250 , touchscreen etc. You gave me that knowledge. Thank you. This is a great laptop my husband has one but I got an upgraded model.😘
That said, I think the speakers are at the front, on either side, not below the grill at the back above the keyboard haha that isn't a speaker grill, its a air-flow (cooling) grill -- its on the underside as well for airflow purposes, not sound
Finally, a review with same exact laptop I have! Just got mines a while ago and have been loving it so far! It's definitely a big upgrade from my 5 year old HP Pentium 4gb Ram laptop that's for sure! My only complaints though is, I don't know if it's my issue or an issue with this particular model, but when I close my laptop sometimes and put it to sleep mode and wake it up the Wi-Fi driver malfunctions. And I agree that the brightness for this laptop is definitely low, but I won't be taking it outside anyway, so it's not too big a deal for me. And it's unfortunate that this laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, so I'll have to buy an adapter at some point. Also, mine has a Ryzen 5 4000 CPU, 1TB SSD and 32GB Ram, got it for $1,200 which is definitely cheap compared to other brands with the same specs that are either double or triple the price! And thanks for letting us know how to upgrade it, I won't be doing any unscrewing anytime soon though. Knowing my clumsy self, I'll end up breaking something anyway, lol!

I was really considering this laptop but i decided to get the Lenovo Flex 5 with 4500U and 16GB ram since the price went back down from about $720 to $599, but at $720 i would've preferred this one since I'm planning to keep my laptop as long as possible and this has better build quality and upgrade options.
This is the best laptop right now for the price EXCEPT no one should buy it. Did a little digging and found there's a huge problem with the hinges failing, and HP does not want to fix it. I almost pulled the trigger on the 13 inch model, very glad I haven't.
@@angelac.5984 Depends on why you need a laptop. I'm weary of the HP Spectre, because of how HP is handling the Envy. But everything I've seen says any Spectre model made in 2020 resolved all the major issues of the device. The Lenovo Yoga 7i and 9i are great 2-in-1 devices. Without doing any research I know the Dell XPS has been reported to be a good device this year, but also that Dell has been shit the past few years. If it doesn't need to be a 2-in-1 then I'd recommend some of the deals on the Lenovo Thinkpads. Top tier specs for less than $1000. It's ugly as F, but the keyboard is a dream to type on. Check out the SuggestALaptop subreddit discord for those links. At the moment I'm waiting for the HP Spectre 14inch to come down to ~$1100

Amazing review!! but I think you made a mistake on speakers location on this laptop. The area above keyboard is actually vent for air inflow, speakers are on the below the laptop on both left & right sides. Really like how you provided all the info to upgrade and link for software to copy the storage and anything one would need to do that.
Great content Techno Panda. Detailed and to the point. I am looking to purchase a laptop for someone who has a typical usage of Word/excel document editing, hours of video classes and RUclips streaming. The other option is of course Lenovo Flex 5 14'' which again suffers from low colour gamut coverage.. I am only concerned about the limited 50% colour space profile of the display. Will it hold up for general purpose usage, for atleast 3-5 years ?
Yes, build quality is very good so I see no reason why this laptop will not last for at least three to four years. As far as the color gamut is concerned, unless you are editing videos and photos and doing color grading it's not a big deal. For normal use including watching videos and creating word documents the screen is really nice

You have to replace company default ssd with new one ,u have purchased.*so basically you can't put more than 1ssd in laptop* Ram: 2 slots available.but my config was 2*4gb ram. Again you can replace it by 2*16 gb or either you can go for 2*8 or maybe u want to replace only one slot. Hope it helps.

HP usually makes multiple skews of this laptop targeting US and other international markets. The one sold here in US can charge via usb-c, but I cannot guarantee that for all models. Its best that you confirm it from your local product listing

I was in the same dialemma few days ago but finally bought hp envy x360. Even though it is little costlier than lenovo flex 5, it has better build quality and premium look. Hence went with hp.. One more thing in lenovo flex was ram wasn't upgradable which was the main issue in my case..
It depends on what you want... *The HP is more elegant and looks better overall, plus you can upgrade the ram (it only comes with 8gb). It is heavier and a little bit bigger that the Lenovo though and it doesn't come with the pen. *The Lenovo has double the amount of ram at 16gb (non expandable), comes with the pen in the box and isn't as heavy as the hp.

Yes, 4+16 GB will work without any problem. But remember, 8+8 GB is better because symmetric RAM sticks enable dual memory channel which is faster than single memory channel configuration
Why is it sold in Currys as a 15.6 inch laptop when it’s just 35.6cm? Even on the box it states 39.62cm but when removed from the box it only measures 35.6cm.

HP usually makes multiple skews of this laptop targeting US and other international markets. The one sold here in US can charge via usb-c, but I cannot guarantee that for all models. Its best that you confirm it from your local product listing
Does the pen come with the laptop, in the amazon link u have in the description it says pen is not included. Hope you read this. Anyways, Great video, love ur content m8!!

btw, i came across many articles complaining about the hinge on the left side which breaks easily.. did you notice any crackling sound on your device so far? i got mine last week and i am hearing little cracking sound already when i open the lid.

I was in the same dialemma few days ago but finally bought hp envy x360.
Even though it is little costlier than lenovo flex 5, it has better build quality and premium look. Hence went with hp..
One more thing in lenovo flex was ram wasn't upgradable which was the main issue in my case..
It depends on what you want...
*The HP is more elegant and looks better overall, plus you can upgrade the ram (it only comes with 8gb). It is heavier and a little bit bigger that the Lenovo though and it doesn't come with the pen.
*The Lenovo has double the amount of ram at 16gb (non expandable), comes with the pen in the box and isn't as heavy as the hp.
I am a big fan ur videos.....u r the most underrated youtuber....i have a question tho i just bought acer aspire 5 slim ryzen 3. As u know it comes with only 4gb ram. But i was thinking of buying 16 gb ram...so the question is can i use 4gb and 16gb ram together? Can this damage my laptop?
Yes, 4+16 GB will work without any problem. But remember, 8+8 GB is better because symmetric RAM sticks enable dual memory channel which is faster than single memory channel configuration
