Ive had my HP ENVY 360X for about 6months and in that time i am happy with its performance. Its not as powerful as some of the more moder gaming laptops. But for light or short bursts of demanding games. It does well. And if you get a vacuum cooling fan that can prolong the the gaming, and the life of the laptop.
@@emailmal5793 Don't get me wrong, the laptop is good at gaming, just not gaming triple A constantly, you can do bursts....if you really intend on getting this laptop, get a KLIM Tempest Vacuum cooler, and have the intake covering the exhaust vent, remember that this is a thin laptop so the cooling is not the best. This laptop uses DDR4 ram, i'm using 2400MHz, but i would suggest a higher ram speed. But the vacuum cooler is more important. Just search up 'KLIM Tempest vacuum cooler.'

Love my envy x360. Got one from best buy (instore open box) for $525. Works great. Using mostly for work (graphic design) and works perfectly. Also really impressed with how well this thing games.

@@TheSneha8 there are dedicated vega 6 graphics in the ryzen 4500u cpu that's In this laptop. Yes works great for graphic design in light video editing. I have used adobe premiere pro on this laptop n worked great. I would choose the ryzen and over the Intel i5
This laptop alone has so much potential, just increase tdp speeds and heat temps and hyperthread the cores so you have a total of 12 cores, imagine the power of an over locked igpu with 12 cores running at 3.4 GHz average
@Elementz Nah man, I went to buy it and the base is 580 but upgrading it to ryzen 7, 512 ssd, and 16 gb ram makes it $880 dollars. It's cuz adding ryzen 7 is 140 dollars, and the others are 70 and 90 respectively. Though there is another version of the laptop where upgrading isn't that expensive. On that other version upgrading to ryzen 7 is 110, 512 ssd is 70, and 16 gb ram is 40. The whole thing makes it 820.
Agreed... Added RAM to my previous Generation AMD 3500U ENVY x360. Of course not a big deal to do, but the adhesive strip feethave to be removed: The top one must be removed fully, the lower peeled back a few inches on either side... Mine never re-stuck well, so I just glued on conventional feet, and left the screws exposed. Worst issue at least for my unit is the wi-fi/BT card... It's under the MB, so the MB must be removed to service... DUMB!

@@onecleangti it's because the form factor of 15s has extra space for better air flow hence better cooling. Better cooling means better or more steady performance throughout some tests.
It looks promising but what about thermal throttling ? is that a thing here ? In my experience with some laptops with i5 and dedicated graphics, you could play something like csgo pretty okay but after half an hour the cpu throttled and it was unplayable. dedicated GPU was pretty useless there for that purpose then. How is it here and with Ryzen ?

@@itsDjjayyArt The 2020 version. The battery life I observed was around 6 hours doing normal browsing and light multimedia. The heat was one of the reasons I didn't keep it. It got uncomfortably hot, enough to make me concerned. If you're using it in a cool room or have a cooling pad you should be fine. It is a beautiful laptop imo.
Hey I have this laptop and its been really slow lately and there has been a lot of whirring, currently clocking at 400GHz that goes down to 200. Also, running 80's in temp and 37-50% vram usage when running Valorant with the lowest settings. Im wondering if I should just do a factory reset. Any ideas?
I get a lot of stutter on Overwatch and the audio cuts out randomly. This happens it seems when the CPU usage gets to 100% usage and it makes it unplayable. Any fixes?
If I'm correct, the 1000nit screen is for an option called hp sureview, its like a privacy filter. The screen needs to be very bright as the privacy filter is not perfectly efficient even at a perpendicular angle. While it is very cool in a business or public setting (its near impossible to see anything on the screen if you're not right in front of it), I would not recommend it for most people unless you know the trade offs/ have seen and used an HP sureview before
I have this but returning it because of the pretty dreadful display the 250 nits and 45% NTSC is just not enough unfortunately. Giving the 13" a go instead with 4700u, hopefully better. 15" is such a good size too, shame!

@@TheSneha8 the difference won't be huge but if it's available where you live I think the Ryzen would be best especially the integrated graphics - performance has been comparable to i7 in multicore performance. Also usually the AMD one version is cheaper than the Intel one

on the bestbuy model i got they arent soldiered (mine is upgradable). you have to check which x360 Envy you are looking at (hp prod #) they are all diff. some have soldered some don't.

Im pissed because I talked to a suppirt member at HP and they said it wasnt. Sure enough I found this out a day after buying the laptop.

You have a 300 nit , 400 nit and 1000 nit screen option in the US.

there is a 400nit display varient of the 15 inch, you just have to order it through Hp's store
I ordered the 4700u, 13in, 400nit screen model. Supposedly the screen is 95% RGB capable. Comes in on the 1st

Battery life decreases gadfly if you leave it connected after fully charged (100%), playing game while connected will decrease the battery life also

on the bestbuy model i got they arent soldiered (mine is upgradable). you have to check which x360 Envy you are looking at (hp prod #) they are all diff. some have soldered some don't.
