Hey Dave, I bought the Hp Omen 15 AMD 4800H variant equipped with a full 1660 TI GPU + 16gb 3200mhz + 1080P 144hz panel - (Picked it up from Best Buy for $1459 after tax). @marokan k, I haven't used the Intel variant, though I'd recommend going with AMD- specifically the 4800H. Great review! I had one of the previous models of Omen ( I think 2018) and the heat was really a problem. It was an amazing laptop but ruined because of the overheating. It was almost impossible to play for more than 20 minutes. I'm glad to see they fixed it now!
Yeah but the big stuff, healthcare and university, are generally much cheaper in Europe compared to the US. I'm heading off to college now, $72,000 per year.
Thank you for making this video I had just bought this computer and while waiting for it to get delivered I struggled to find anything that could help me learn more about it before i got it. Thanks to you I now feel better prepared👍
Good to see the thermals are better. I had a GTX 1070 one that performed great but after a year, the thermal paste was cemented to the gpu, with me replacing the paste and making sure the fans were running properly.
I actually bought this laptop last month, and there’s some problems with it, first, when I bought it a couple weeks in the r and x key stopped working, and my older brother also got the same model and his r key stopped working. We returned it to Best Buy and bought a new one, and then the same thing happened. I recommend this laptop a lot but there could be potential manufacturer defects to the omen 15.

I’ve enjoyed your reviews and always look to see if you’ve reviewed it prior to even considering a product. Major kudos.
is it a good laptop?
did you get the 1080p amd version? how long does the battery last on youtube playback only with 50% brightness?
Subscribed after watching this video. Good, concise, unbiased review. Helped me decide which laptop to get. Thank you 😁

Great review! I had one of the previous models of Omen ( I think 2018) and the heat was really a problem. It was an amazing laptop but ruined because of the overheating. It was almost impossible to play for more than 20 minutes. I'm glad to see they fixed it now!
Dave: "If you work in an environment"
Me: Ah yes, similar to how I live in a society
We live in a society...

Sad how it starts at 900$ in the US and the same base model in europe is like 1300$... you guys are lucky to have electronics that cheap, really.
Living in a third-world country... this is above the $2000. But yeah, in the US electronics are cheap
@@JoseMendez07 yes same
Actually, in Portugal I just got one with 2060 16GB and Ryzen for 999Euro
@@GoncaloGC Portugal is still the farthest country west in Europe :C

@Vernize why go through the hassle of buying another keyboard that you need to bring everywhere you go in order to use the damn laptop?

No, he did

yesn't.

id say u really do....cause the new omen for 4 zone rgb only have static and now theresa new app omen light studio tht can gives ur keyboard animation.......those with red single zone might not be useful for it.....and i didnt regret at all....tq dave....lmao

I've had the mid high spec of this laptop for 2 and a half years. 10750h 2070 max q super 16 gigs 1tb ssd 144hz. Upgraded to 32 gb and 3 gb of ssds. Thing is still solid, thermals are still good, no issues. I take it apart once a year or less to reapply thermal paste, and blow dust out perioticly. Would recommend to anyone looking for a used unit. Battery still just fine on mine.
If you don't mind I'm actually specifically looking for an OMEN 15 laptop because I love the Number 15 and don't like 16 and 17 and love the diamond design on this laptop since I first saw it accouple years ago and was wondering if I could buy yours? It may seem crazy but I really am interested in it.
