    To anyone still upgrading these, a tip for prying the bottom panel without a tool: slightly push the corner of a plastic card into the rear exhaust grill and lever the back of the panel up, it should snap off easily, giving you plenty of space to slide the card under the panel and pop the other sides.
    I've left a couple of scratches on the bottom and the side of my laptop trying to pry it from the front without a proper tool before figuring this out, don't repeat my mistake.

    One more thing, take care of plastic clips on side. They tend to break easily. Don't ask me how I know that.

    • @jerryw1608
      @jerryw1608 2 года назад +4

      @@Tumsaddict you most likely know your computer has normal RAM, feeding your Computing Processing Unit (CPU) with data. vRAM is the same thing, only then to feed your Graphical Processor Unit (GPU) with data, the ‘v’ in vRAM stands for video. vRAM can get hot running GPU intensive applications, that’s why there are cooling pads on top of them connecting them with your heat sink to provide some cooling.

    Great video, very insightful! I have a question for fellow OMEN 15 users. When I close the screen to put my laptop into sleep mode, it seems to enter sleep at first, but after 5-10 minutes, the fans start running at high speed, and the laptop gets really hot until the battery completely drains. I have to force shutdown by holding the power button. The only workaround I’ve found is to manually put it to sleep by holding the power button for 2 seconds. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? Would really appreciate any tips!

    I purchased an omen laptop a month or so ago, but I’m having problems with the power supply. The brick gets extremely hot. I played a game (Back 4 Blood) which the laptop runs flawlessly, but the power brick was coming in at 160+ degrees F after about an hour. That was so hot it wasn’t safe to leave on the floor. I contacted HP and they sent out a replacement charger, which did exactly the same thing.
    At this point I’m thinking I’ll have to return the computer, since it’s not safe to use at its full capacity. None of the reviews I saw mentioned this as an issue, so I am very surprised that it hasn’t come up. Seriously, this brick gets hot.

      I'm guessing the reason you don't want to put it on the floor is because of carpet or maybe pets? Mine does get very hot but I keep it on a shelf next to my table and it's still going strong over a year after I got it. Just make sure you let it cool off before you throw it in a backpack or something.

  • @elk3909
    @elk3909 3 года назад

    i upgraded my omen battery on the cell level adding more cells in parallel i can play witcher 3 for 13 hours and 49 minuets.
    take the wrapper off the battery so you have access to the batteries pcb and solder 2 powerlines to the batteries output allowing the other end to come out of the laptop.
    build a 4s lithium battery of any size you want and connect it to the power lines coming out of the laptop
    as the laptop uses power it will automatically take from both the internal and external batteries making the whole system last longer

    Hey Jarrod, some of us had issues with Lan drivers due to a bios error when using the windows virtual machine platform for Windows subsystem linux. An updated BIOS F.12 was pushed through windows update, but you need to be in the windows insider beta ring last I checked. This fixed a lot of network driver and BSOD issues people were having. I tell you this as it may be worth trying the WiFi again with the F.12 BIOS

    I have this OMEN with the same specifications and it is very good, the stock temperature went up to 99 degrees playing games but making some adjustments it does not exceed 75 degrees. What ever was used as the sticky substance must have work out, probably doesn't matter too much to not have them covering the screws. If it's the foot that prevents the laptop sliding around, then not sure, might need some sort of glue.
