This Omen has being doing wonders for me, As well as you I also ended up buying the 16 ram 1 tb model but with student deals combined with best buy deals, I payed a whopping $1049 + tax, which was so worth it considering my budget as a college student. Im so happy i came across this computer at the perfect time!! I really enjoyed the video and Im happy to hear your channel is growing with your hard work keep it up!

No. You should consider the ROG Zephyrus G14 instead! The display for that model of omen is really bad and has only 55-60% of sRGB coverage. On the other hand, the G14 has 100% sRGB coverage and has an overall better display. You should spend the extra 5k and buy the G14 over the omen becuase it is a better laptop overall. Also, consider buying offline as you might get better deals. P.S. The G14 also has a 120 Hz display. The response times could have been better but it's still much better than 60 Hz.
@@blackcat6309 not really,first of all rog zephyrus g14 is for creators and is overpriced for gaming option you get a 1650ti for 97k on that laptop without anime matrix and on the other hand the ryzen 5 4600h with 1660ti and 60hz screen is roughly 84k and the 144hz version will be coming out around 15th September for 1,00,000 which i think is fair

This is a great competitor to Zephyrus G14, which is great but kinda overpriced. And thermals are significantly better, G14 runs hot. Go for it, Ryzen 5 + 1660 Ti is a solid combo. It's sleek, lightweight and portable, most compact 15 inch gaming device.
Bought the laptop! A truly amazing computer however i got the 4600h version. It works perfectly fine but the 8 core 4800h is most likely worth the upgrade. NOTE that I bought the wrong version and got the 60hz panel. DO NOT BUY. The 144hz panel is so much better and the laptop feels so much more snappy and smooth. I was close on buying the intel version of this laptop, interesting how they perform worse than amd but cost alot more haha. GO AMD. GO OMEN!
Have you tested the monitor's sRGB and nits? I heard the lower panel shipped with the 4600H is not as advertised and is only 60-70% sRGB and 200 something nits. Your feedback would be appreciated.

I recently bought a dell inspiron 5505 with a 4500u (also comes with 4700u) and a 512gb ssd. The screen is also quite decent while it is va dell claims it has 300 nits and 72% ntsc. I chose it over the ideapad 5 15 because the dell looks alot more premium while still being a similar price in the UK. I think you should review this laptop as I cant really find any reviews on it.

I bought this laptop 2nd hand recently for video editing and rendering. Its an awesome laptop and never had any issues with it. I was going to buy the ASUS Tuf Ryzen 7 version of this laptop but after some research I saw that some of the 2nd hand ones on sale had issues like keyboard not working and another where you couldnt use any web browser when connected to the internet.
I kinda regret not being able to buy this while on Labor day sale. I at least was able to get a Legion 5 but it is heavier than this with less battery. Edit: Regret gone, there is a defect in some omens covered by @code husky
I'm 7 months late, but code husky finds defects on every single laptop, including the Legion 5. There's no laptop on the planet that isn't going to have defective units

Great review, Josh. Sounds like a great laptop and one I would have purchased had it not been an HP laptop. I owned an HP that had a low audio issue that I could never get resolved. And I wasn't the only one complaining to HP about the audio issues in their laptops.

I faced two problems with HP Omen:
- Fan started producing roaring sound after 6 months of purchase
- the battery fattened
This AMD variant has barely been out for 3 months. You shouldn't assume that it will be the same as older Intel versions
