Just got mine yesterday after seeing the thermal performance in this video. Loving it so far. Only thing I don't like is the "sharp" front bevel, but I'm quickly getting used to it. Mine has a tiny amount of backlight bleed. Thermals are beautiful. Got it on sale well within my budget. I bought the 8 GB RAM model and I'm quickly ripping that out to go with 32 GB instead to make it into an affordable workstation. This is my first laptop since 2012 and it's a massive upgrade. Thanks for the review!
I had to take a file to the very corner bits to smooth them out a little, but that edge doesn't really bother me much either. I got mine for under $1000 and I think its a tremendous deal. It would be really nice to put some eGPU numbers in gaming laptop reviews, with a reasonably comparable Desktop graphics card for the price of the given laptop being reviewed. Just to put it into contrast to what the potential buyer for these could have if he went for a solution that doesn't allow gaming away from home, but does allow portability and more battery of an ultrabook such as the Blade Stealth or an XPS 13.
I have this model (but with the RGB lighting) and its fantastic. You can tinker with the screen color and sharpness in the Ryzen control center and that helped tremendously. It runs super cool even under load, even though the "load" I used was only Fallout 4 at max settings. You might want to file the corner tips a little bit, because they get pokey as fuck and can scratch you pretty bad if you leave them be
Omen? Amen! THIS one now gives me some hope, HP is locally available here in Egypt unlike the RP-15 (or RP-17)! ...but I still haven't received the money to buy anything yet...

I don't know Jarrod. The Lenovo is au $800 more expensive than the eluktronics for the same spev. The lenovo is au $2699 and the eluk is $1899 and there is the option to take another $100 off by removing the windows licence. That's a pretty hard comparison.
Thanks. Seems like finally we'll have to choose only between HP Omen 15 and Lenovo Legion 5, for their temperatures in 4800H+1660Ti. You can only guess how low my standards are xD
@@prateekkarn9277 True. GTX 1660 Ti is the actual minimum for gaming if you don't want to buy a new laptop every 2 years.
@@prateekkarn9277 I understand, I ran Control at 540p lowest settings on my Vega 8 laptop to get around 25 FPS
Hp's website shows a r7 4800h+2060 model at 1.24 lakhs (but it's been out of stock for the past few days). It has a good display- 144hz,300 nits
That HDMI cable was sick!

Intel:Yeah i'm sure that's just a coincidence
Laptop manufacturers: we’re gonna put amd chips in our laptops now!
Intel: slips them some cash
@@weiyuan20 yeah
Good thing cause I bought the intel version :))
Origin has their EON 15-X with AMD Ryzen 9. Hope to see you reviewing that big boy as well with their flagship 17inch intel based EON 17-X
With new update there is only 2 fan mods now. Default and Performance no Silent mode 😕.
This channel is EVERYTHING !
🤩
When you get the 2060 model of Omen 15 please show 3 things closely : keyboard lighting, ssd speed and if it drains battery while plugged in at extreme load.❤️
An update added freesync to this model, 60-144hz but still no gsync, not of much use since you only get variable refresh on the iGPU.
Planning to get this in 2 weeks with a 2060 and 4800H in India
I have this model (but with the RGB lighting) and its fantastic. You can tinker with the screen color and sharpness in the Ryzen control center and that helped tremendously. It runs super cool even under load, even though the "load" I used was only Fallout 4 at max settings. You might want to file the corner tips a little bit, because they get pokey as fuck and can scratch you pretty bad if you leave them be
Easy to understand your reviews with related data. ❤️
I going to buy this laptop next week Im excited!
Let us know how it goes!
no freesync? 2.1kgs. flex, no biometrics...and that power button, why oh why. how is this better than the G14? Thanks for the review as always Jarrod
Omen? Amen!
THIS one now gives me some hope, HP is locally available here in Egypt unlike the RP-15 (or RP-17)!
...but I still haven't received the money to buy anything yet...
U are looking at wrong company for that tongfang odm laptop
@@primus711 Dang, which one then?
which amd laptop would you recommend for non gaming uses ? the omen or the g14 ?
I'm only here to look up reviews on the best gaming laptop because I can't get my hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series; plus I don't have experience knowing how to build a gaming desk top
233k subscribers already 💪🏻 Can’t wait for this channel to reach millions ❤️
Is it worth spending £200 more for i7 10th gen 6 core and 16gb ram with a bit more ssd memory and a 2060 gpu?
The speeds you showed in the SD card section are for the SD card itself and not the slot. Does the card come with the laptop?
I've never seen any laptop come with an SD card. I use one of the fastest cards available so that the card isn't a limit.
@@JarrodsTech I see, thanks for the clarification.
Targeting this one as well for my new laptop, hopefully I can buy it ❤️
💜
Only for $999.
I'm looking forward to Legion because it has 17 inch solution, numpads in both 15/17 inch versions and RTX 2060 will be available too. Still don't have them in stocks here in Russia though.
We don't have this one in India. They sell the 4600H + 1660ti version for ₹95k ($1300) inclusive of taxes.
You are the benchmark king! Also your B-Roll is great too :) If you get the chance, can you show us how to safely use Ryzen Controller to increase limits? I have the RP-15 I don't think the wattage of the CPU is changing
Thank you for the review! I decided to pull the trigger on one of these! Hopefully next year we will see some more powerful GPUs in these!
The only problem I have with my 2020 omen 15 is that when I'm charging and gaming at the same time, I don't realize when it finishes charging and end up over charging the laptop. The only indication for charging and completion of charge is one small led on the side of the laptop.
in 4:18 the source cable is cool ,where you get it?

Loved watching this on my Omen 15 bought for $1049 on sale at Best Buy. I really like this machine.
Does obs work fine since my bext laptop would omen 15 or legion 5 both with same ryzen 7 4800h and gtx 1660 ti also after i get the laptops i will start my gaming channel which is require obs to record the game
I got the Asus Zephyrus g14 because of how good it is and due to reviews, I watched from Jarrod and more RUclipsrs.
Have tried editing videos with it??
@@cutmangolf3667 I haven’t tried but you definitely can
Australian price is $2699 for the 1660ti 4800h model and out of stock. $2999 for the 2060.
Hi Jarrod
I plan to buy one laptop but I am stuck with HP Omen 15, Tuff A15, and Triton 300 acer
i will use it mostly for editing videos, photoshop, and also gaming with student documents
Sooooo, it doesn't have a fingerprint scanner?
Could you please share the Ryzen controller tweaks you made?
Great video! That moment when the 80w Gtx 1660 Ti is only 3-8 fps slower than a 90w RTX 2060...
The display model (no available retail stock yet) that we have here in Malaysia appear to be slightly different..it has full keyboard with numpad
Hey Jarrod! It says on the website that the RTX 2070 super max-q variant is 'shadow black aluminium'. Does this mean it has an all metal build? Could you let us know if the build quality is better on this one?!
currently watching this on my new omen 15 B) its amazing for sure
is the settings on Ryzen controller at 5:55 the ones you used to boost performance?
Really nice review. You planning on doing zephyrus g15?
Might have to buy it, ASUS won't send it.
Having to watch this video made my decision harder, picking between Lenovo Legion 5 or HP Omen both equipped with AMD Ryzen 7 with 1660ti. Gahd.
Heads up.... Helios 300 is on sale again on Amazon for 999. Just grabbed mine finally
