- We show full set up of the new Activ8X with CrossLinc Technology on the Ranger 330MPX. This portable wire feeder allows you to control voltage hundreds of feet away using a standard weld cable. (No control cable needed) Safety, quality, and productivity are improved by utilizing the technology included in this set up.

CrossLinc Technology compatible machines have the X in their name for example the Ranger 330MPX in this video paired with the Activ8X feeder.
We go over True Voltage Technology- which comes in handy when the operator is a long distance away from the power source. Long cables and
multiple connections can create a difference in voltage (voltage
drop) between the power source and the weld. For example
if 24volts are set on the welding power source. Due to
electrical resistance through long cables, only 20volts are actually
available at the arc. This may result in a cold weld.
True Voltage Technology (TVT) sees this drop and gives you the
true voltage you set by adjusting the power source to compensate
for the voltage drop. In the example below, 24v is preset at the
Activ8X wire feeder. TVT senses there is a 4 volt drop due to long
weld cables and compensates by increasing the welder output to
28V. The result is the desired 24v available at the welding arc.

Really like the lift eye on the feeder
Excellent reviews, very knowledgeable, great videos
Man I would love to have this rig
Been looking forward to seeing a little about these. Would love to see a review from a field guy!
Ironworkers Union Local 433. Been using those welders on max settings, one stopped working at 160 hours, second burned the CPU. Took it to Airgas, got my money back. You can't relay on it.
Cool this is making me like mig welding now think I might be invest in in one
Great video
Let’s see the tig set up.
Lincolns 300 amp machines are finally making it into the 21st century.
Pretty unique system. (Miller has had Arcreach for years now.)
I was going to say that same, we been using it for building ships very helpful
Great video
Looking at the difference between ln-25x & activ8x video idea
Let us know if you have any questions!
What would cause the unit to smoke?
Does it have a remote system?
Does this thing have burn-back control?
I use a Ln-25 pro dual power off my classic . What gears do you recommend, burning solid .035 with 75/25 gas..?
Is the active 8 compatible with 13 pound nr 232 spool.?
can you use a regular ln 25 pro with the 33mpx
I am a new person to welding and would have liked to see how the wire spool is fed down the cable for the first time.
Do you just squeeze the trigger switch and the motor starts feeding the wire down the cable?
Good question, yes, most just remove the nozzle tip and feed the wire while holding the cable as straight as possible.
Whats the difference between this and arc reach? With Miller
would this unit work with an older lincoln ranger 8....nothing digital on my ranger 8 so probably not compatible
Our doesn’t change heat on the power source . I am currently running .o72 nr 232 self shielded and I am have a hell of a time setting the suitcase. Is there a site I can go to for tips? Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys
What is the longest mig gun you can run on this?
That unit has gas port conections?
Hey Gabacho ! Muchas Gracias por tu breve explicacion about DC + Electrode Positive or DCP wich RIGTH POLARITY.
Outside field it my be confusing for beginners. The majority of time we run the Machine DC - Electrode negative or DCN wich is STRIGTH POLARITY for better penetration. Many guys don't pass the first test at job site if they don't even now about it. Muchisimas Gracias.
I like Lincoln but miller does the suitcase feeder so soooo much better.
Is the rebate still avilable?
There is not a rebate currently available but we are doing 50% off the cover and have a promo code: MPX60
Will the active8 work with a 305g?
It will not cross link like we show in this video. There are suitcase options though for that unit.
I know this is an old comment but yes you can still use this feeder on the 305g or any other engine Drive that has CV or CC options there is a small pin sized button on the activate 8 X that you press with the tip of a pen or whatever that you can take it out of Crosslink mode and use it on any engine drive you want again as long as it has CV or CC option I've done it many times
Can you run gas with this??
Of course.
Can.u use a active8 on mpx260
Yes you can! Same way as the 330!
Never mind...🤣🤣🤣 found it
That Ranger is having alot of issues with the gas tank leaking.
@Michael 13Fox20 remove the gasket on the cap, that's what i did to both of my 305's
Doesn’t look like it takes 40 lbs rolls of wire
Too much connection
Way too many delicate electronics. Nice shiney toys that should work ok for the weekend welder. I will stay with my old Lincoln DC 210 Pro diesel and LN25 that have stood the Alaska field test. Looks and runs as good as when I bought it in 1979.
Cost in 1979 was 6300 dollars, new LN25 was 1400. Prices have doubled, quality and reliability has been cut in half.
Not a very good demo
