I got a ranger that I weld pipe with all the time no problems 7 years now and counting
I currently have a miller big blue 300 pro. a 400 amp welder and for me it’s been a god send. I studied that welder for a bit and that is a great multi process welder. Enjoy yourself make your business grow and keep advancing! God bless you and yours!
You should try to point your exhaust away from your back window. It could cause it to shatter from exhaust heat.
It's 2 months come on now you got a good 👍 machine I got 305 lpg I was the same way until I got more formal with it the machine you got is compact and a powerful unit we old school welders 😂you got it
I tried one out at an airgas demo. It welded awesome and i almost bought one, but the one knob , digital stuff kept me from it. I bought a Ranger 305 G because it has a little bit less digital stuff on it, at least what I could see anyway. I have to say I love it. Great video sir, keep up the good work.
The digital interface made me nervous too. I’m not the biggest fan of electronics. But so far so good (knock on wood) and we use it in some pretty extreme conditions, snow ice rain and pretty hot summers! I will definitely do an update video later on! Thanks for watching!
Yeah I got the 305 lpg because industry I like mine
You're welcome. I like videos on all aspects of welding
I’ve had two rangers have boards go down. Granted they had more than paid for themselves is why I didn’t repair them. But I am scared of the electronics on most mobile equipment as far is engine drives goes. I just don’t like being stranded or having an issue in the field.
Lincoln knocked it out of the park with mpx. Crazy quite and the inverter power generation makes for smoother welding then traditional power generation.
I actually like it. Running 232 wire, you have 2 settings. 1st is what bolts you want, 2nd, the machine will lose power then run normal, that 2nd setting allows when you lose power it won't go below your set voltage...if that makes sense
you cane run pipe all day long with a ranger or bobcat welder. they just ain't gonna hold up as long . but they do use a bunch more fuel
Zack be sure to look at the space required for cooling ,your machine will last a lot longer. Great video Thanks for the review.
Thanks, will do!
That's a nice machine. I went for the Hobart 225 because of the Tractor Supply financing deal and so far it is all the machine I need for what I use it for. Recently ran the generator for four days due to a power outage caused from an Ice storm and it uses about the same amount of fuel you said your uses. Thanks for the review!
Hobart makes phenomenal products
Sabes cómo reiniciar una Ranger 330 mpx
What is the tractor supply finance deal ? They do in house finance ?
@@daveybass655 Yes. You get their credit card and you can buy larger items at zero interest for so many months. Trick is not to be late because they will add on all the interest. I think it is really a Citibank card though.
I would get 1.5 days on my Trailblazer 325 EFI with one tank of fuel. I am really happy I went for the EFI, makes a huge difference. No choke to worry about just turn the knob and go. Excellent start in cold and snowy weather. If they made a EFI I would give it a try.
That was the way I originally wanted to go. But I couldn’t get one at the time I was looking. The 330 is a gas guzzler. Running hard I get maybe 7-8 hours out of a tank.
@@elevatetrades I’ve saved a new machine in fuel going with EFI. Especially when fuel got expensive. My personal thought is sell and upgrade asap.
Especially if you’re welding 5-7 days a week
I'm sure I didn't see that when I bought my Ranger 250. I ran a Commander 400 back in my company days and really wanted that but a customer has one that the circuit board went out on and is now a big paper weight. That being said, I probably would have passed because the digital screen. I really need at least 300 volts for arc gouging but I have been getting by with the 250. That seems small enough for my over weight truck though and that's making me rethink it.
Ya digital interface makes me nervous as well. Hope it lasts! Thanks for the watch!
Lincoln makes a superior product.
I'm still running my old '78 SA200 Blackface. Works well for everything I need at the moment but the 330MPX is on my radar.
I love the old SA200s but the 330 definitely has some fancy features. I’d go with the efi if I could do it all over again just to help with fuel consumption.
4 years using for structural steel welding that 330 MPX, non EFI, I’ve got one of the first machines. No problems at all. Using 10w30 Castrol oil, all Wix filters expect the air filter ( could not find it in Wix). Don’t use Kohler please.
I’m a structural welder myself and I’m running a ranger 305G and I’ve been wondering how the 330 mpx did
you got lots of fancy toys. fact is for most people who know how to weld you can do just about any job that requires welding with a 250 amp ac/dc cv/cc machine.
You can also dig your way out of prison with a spoon but that doesn't make you successful
Sorry bud I see it’s a Kioti I have a Kioti 3520se with shuttle shift gear drive. I love it so far!
🔥
I have also heard of People have an same problem with the high capacity oil filters on the Miller machines. It is something to do with the color engine But me as a mechanic I would probably never use the high capacity oil filter anyways. And I never go with the stock filter I always go with a wix filter. I have always used wicks filters. And never had any issues with them at all
I will give the Wix a shot!
I worked in the trucking industry for almost 50 years, and we always used wix for all of our truck filters, including fuel filters and hydraulic filters as well as on site hydraulic equipment
Hey, please share the air filter Wix for that welder 339 MPX!
It’s bad to turn of your machine on high idle you have to let it idle down
What kind of tractor do you have. Is that a Kubota or Kioti?
I’m trying to set up my mobile welding biz out here in Vegas. Iv looking for one to use for same type of work iron gates doors etc. I have my Lincoln electric le31mp welder iv been using and just running a 10g extension cord from most homes that have a power outlet outside. But iv had to turn down some jobs cause they had no outlet near by.
How and where do you load wire for mig welding?
I use a suitcase welder wire feeder! I’ll post a video soon of it. It’s the only way to go. And running a true welding generator is definitely ideal for not having to rely on other people’s power!
@@elevatetrades so my welder wouldn’t work.. I was told a predator 9000 watt generator could work for welders but I’m not sure about it.
@@jlermzgt9393 might not be enough juice for certain jobs. Especially thicker material.
@@jlermzgt9393 manual states 3kw minimum generator. 60hz and RMS voltage of the AC waveform: 90-140 V; Out of this range will
trigger undervoltage and overvoltage protections. not sure what that last part means
Kohler is the good stuff you can have a heart attack Kohler keeps going you know what I mean you get the picture😂😂
Kohler sucks .worst small engine made now .they are not the Kohler of old days
I want a honda engine drive.
Is this AC/DC??
I have the same version only it's a 260. Worst welder I have ever owned something with it all the time. Ran for month then no power sent it back to Lincoln got it back they never touched it sent back again ran for 2 months and the control knob switch failed. Waited 4 months for the part back going again. Now 4 months later quits welding after 15 mins still have 115 though. So I have had it with this one going back to a 225 without that screen setting garbage. I have 150 hrs on it.
I apologize for my ignorance but it looks like to run GMAW and FCAW you have to purchase all other equipment to then hook up to this unit. Correct? Cause all I’m seeing you can do right out the box is stick, and TIG with the right TIG torch.
Hey Terry, out of the box all you can really use it for if you don't have anything is a generator. You can run almost any welder on it. I run my Miller 252 all the time off it. With the right set of leads you can run stick, tig (with a tig rig setup) and a wire feeder. I also have an aluminum wire feeder that hooks directly into the ports on the generator. I'm sure there is more capabilities with the machine but this is all I have used it for so far.
I wanna know how to do AC tig from the generator
Physical specs are basically the same as my bobcat 250. Little smaller than the trailblazer ain’t it?
Yes it is. Profile is a few inches smaller, I run off a buddy's trailblazer which is similar in size to bobcat and it is a little larger.
Did it bring attachment, or did you buy them separately
Bought separately see new video!
how much are the chinese circuit boards going to cost when they burn out and will you be able to get them?
I hope I never have to find out.
Where are the spark plugs? I’ve been trying to change them on the welder at work and can’t find them.
Honestly don’t know. I am not to that point of service in mine yet.
Remove top shroud to access the spark plugs.
How long is it?
36" long!
HOW DID U MOUNT ON TRUCK
Through bolted it to the bed with big washers and grade 8 hardware! Been holding tight for over a year and a lot of miles!
You will never use 300 amps. Unless you buy a tank that needs re armouring.
I wish I had a tank that needed re armouring!
I’m using all juice when air gauging with 5/16 rod. Smooth!!!
$8000 new when it doesn’t even have an electric choke
I would definitely get efi if I were to buy again.
That audio 😢
We are working on it!
I own one. Motor took a dump at 500 hours. Lincoln won’t get my money again.
You didn't weld anything with it! 🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️🙎🏿♂️
Will post welding video soon!
Kohler has had a rocky past few years. Definitely not as good as they used to be. Go check a small engine repair shop. Kawasaki and Kohler engines everywhere, no Honda units
I'm hoping the longevity is there as well. Fingers crossed! It would be cool to see Honda step into the game!
107 hours wait till you get 500 or more junk machine for the money just a toy go get a old Sa if your serious about Welding.
I sure hope not, I'm at 200 now. If I really had no budget I would like to go to a miller pro or Lincoln vantage.....one day.......SA have a purpose though I do agree there.
didnt watch the video yet, but no, everyone should stay away from this junk. My 330MPX has blown up twice, my buddy owns two of these and both blown up once each, last pipeline i was on our beadhand was on his 2nd machine as well. They're garbage.
they weld nice, when they work lol
I hope not! Time will tell...
The problem is very short service intervals! Change oil, filters, spark plugs on time and don’t used any Kohler service parts or oil. Go with 10w30 with most expensive.
