Not a problem! One of our trusty retailers are happy to help should you wish to trade up for a current model. :)

    Great tips.
I usually leave a tiny little space between my spool cap & spool to allow it to spin if it needs to.

Doug, you’re the best! Clear and there’s always a good piece of information that’s not so clear in the manuals. Would like to see more.

1:44 and 2:27 isn't it pulling tight there because the spool itself is upside down not because of the spool cap? At 3:12 we see the correct orientation working fine after reorienting in 3:04. It's fine if its just to illustrate a point but for visual learners like myself it's a key difference that should also be noted.

The take up lever is at the top when the mark on the hand wheel lines up with the groove on the case. above the wheel.
    You probably knew that, huh?

My machine has a ridge on the hand wheel but nothing on the machine case.
Luckiky, I have a needle up/needle down button. Lol
When I started sewing in the 60s we were taught to always start in the needle down position. Times have sure changed!

My needle up/down button (NOT THE NEEDLE STOP BUTTON!) stopped responding on my "brand new" (one day old) jazz 2. The hand wheel turns and the needle will respond with the foot pedal. The button worked fine at first but when I turned the machine back on later that day, the mechanism wouldn't respond when pushing the button.
IS this an electrical or mechanical problem?
I'm very mechanically savvy and I've sewn on lots of machines for many years.
Can you advise? There's no babylock dealer around and no way to mail it anywhere.

I have that machine and can’t get the feed dog lever to lower the feed dogs. Any suggestions? I

I would suggest that you remove your needle plate, Raise gently on the feed dogs and shift your Feed drop switch. It could be a little sticky and need a drop of oil or two.
