Really like your informative videos! I follow everything you instructed with the exception of removing the thread. I was one of those people that pulled the thread out backwards! 😮 That will be corrected! Thanks!❤
Hi Doug…. Your videos are so informative. Thanks always for your time. Can you possible tell me why on my crescendo baby lock machine I keep getting an error message that my machine is not threaded properly. I have tried everything to figure out why I keep getting this message. I have cleaned my machine about 5 times thinking maybe a wee tiny piece of fuzz or thread is lodged somewhere. I have put in a new needle several times. Rewound bobbins and cleaned out the bobbin area several times. It is just the strangest thing. I sure hope you might be able to guide me on this issue. 🙏😊
This normally occurs when you don't use the Needle up button, to place the Needle in the proper position for the Needle threader hook. There is a timing mark on the Handwheel that should be facing straight up when the needle is in the proper position.
Ok. I will try this method of using the button, I will let you know if that solves the problem. It will allow me to sew for about 30 seconds and then pops up that message! So I will see if it doesn’t do that anymore…. I will let you know. Fingers Crossed 😊
Love the video. Do you have any advice for automatic threaders that no longer work? I have a Destiny 2 and mine worked great for a year and now doesn’t. The alignment is off for some reason. I manually do it now. It seems silly to drive 2.5 hours for a fix. (Not to mention a service fee)
I've probably never snipped thread to change spool. Found a ream of thread around one of the arms today while cleaning machine 😮. Mending my ways today
Good morning I have a question. Totally unrelated to your video, but I couldn’t find the information anywhere else. I thought you could help. I recently bought a meridian from baby lock and absolutely love it. I found an app for IQ Intuition Monitoring and I wanted to know if that worked with the meridianI have not been able to connect it. Could be use error so I thought I would ask the question. Thank you.
Do you have any tips for fixing a needle threader on an Altair - I live in the Caribbean so can't take it for service. I can't see how to access it to even look at the mechanism?
I dropped a needle in my machine. Tried everything to find it bye could not. It seems to be seeing fine but I am worried if this will damage my machine.
The machined is designed to compensate for that . The needle tip will likely end up at the bottom of the hook unit and removed during the next service.
I have a Crescendo and have had difficulties with my needle threader ever since I got it. The last time it stopped working, I just started threading by hand. It’s so aggravating but it’s too expensive to keep paying for repairs. Is there anyway I can adjust the threader myself?
press the needle threader button, when it gets to the point where you can get to the little hook turn off your machine. Turn the machine back on for light but don't press the main screen. Hopefully you have good eyes at this point. With a pair of tweezers straighten out that little hook. It should be just a teeny bit to the right of center to go through the hook. At least for me. When you think you've got it right touch the main screen to get everything back into position and try threading again. Keep doing this until you've got it right. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for your answer Doug!!! I have watched this video - probably ALL your videos, lol - but as I have a fully upgraded Solaris I’m reluctant to try to pry off the cover. I’ve tried flossing with unwaxed dental floss as well. But what I really meant (but didn’t ask clearly) was this: I’m sewing along and my thread breaks and gets pulled up into the inside of the machine near the take up lever and I can’t reach the end to pull it out through the needle. What’s the best way to remove the thread in order to rethread? Sometimes I’ve been able to cut the thread and “unthread” it from the top bu taking the cut end through the threading process, but I worry that it’s messing with the tension discs. I also don’t want to just pull it out backwards, but don’t really have other options that I know of. What’s your advice? (Btw, my local shop has sadly closed, so I can’t ask them and I have to travel for regular service.) Thanks!
My machine is not one the the new-fangled one, just a Presto 2 . It used to work fine but now it refuses to work….please help. Machine not even a year old……
I have an Aria. The needle threader stopped working shortly after I bought it. The dealer replaced the mechanism, but it stopped working again shortly after. When I took it in, they said I should never move the wheel by hand. That's what makes it stop working. That seems absurd. Is that true? I have basically given up on that function. Thanks.
Yes. When the needle electronically stops in the up position, the cam mechanism is in the perfect for the rotation of the Needle Threader, as well as placing the Take-up lever in the highest position. It's ok to rotate the handwheel, but always select the needle up button, to position it for use of the needle threader
LOVE these videos! So helpful.
SEW glad to help.

There is a very small hook that goes through the needle that may have been bent and is very tricky to repair..

Why hasn’t my dealer told me this.
Cut my thread by the spool now. You do not waste thread. Cheaper than a trip to the shop.
How do you fix threader if it isn’t working
Thank you

@@Imag1na710n when I turn the machine back on, it finishes the threading circle. I didn’t touch the screen. Thanks for your reply.
Is there a way I can send you photos?
What’s the best way to remove a broken thread that you can’t reach from the needle area?
Kathi, this video may be helpful. It may not be your machine model, but may apply :

If you can get access to the tail of the thread, rotate the hand wheel backwards to unwind it from the machine.

I have an aria also and the threader pushes the loop through the eye but then pulls it out on its way back every time.
Why does the bobbin thread come up from the bottom into my design?
