    My car does not need repairs (fingers crossed) and I didn't come here for informative purposes. I simply came because I realize I quite enjoy the ambiance of guys working on cars in their shops knowing and showing a lot of stuff. The processes of automotive manufacturing, maintenance, and repairs are truly intricate and it is quite pleasing to get to kick back and relax in my comfy living room and watch people show you the journey

    I know it was said before but this is defiantly the best way to do advertising. You get to actually see the products in use. I know I honest to goodness tried your epoxy primer, sanding blocks, chassis paint, and palm sander all from stumbling across your youtube videos. In case anyone is wondering all of the above products I have used work great. I also ended up getting their powder coating gun and powder which is awesome!

    Guys my 55 Bel Air 4 door sedan only weighed a little under 3,300 pounds, I had a 57 Ford 2 door custom with 272 CI engine that weighed in at 2,800 pounds. I was very surprised since I grew up through the 50’s and 60’s. I honestly think the structural integrity in the way the fenders etc. were shaped. The 67 Camaro I have now is only 3,240 pounds. The large rounded shapes were like having a pipe and we know how strong that is. Now days the metal is almost 1/2 the thickness of those days. The plastic, fiber glass and carbon fiber are usually pretty thick and adds a lot of weight. Of course the new ones are safer for several reasons.
    You guys do a great job and I have used a lot of Eastwood products over the past 20 years and have never been disappointed. Keep up the great work. 👍🇺🇸🤙😃👍👍

    This was Great I had 1 question. After epoxy has lost 5 day window before applying filler do you need to re spray another coat or sand to metal in those spots?

    • @paintucation
      @paintucation 2 года назад +1

      Hey John, Just saw this.. After the window is done, you have twochoices.... sand it with 80 or 180 and apply your filler... OR-- scuff it with a red pad and reapply another coat of epoxy and buy yourself another 5 days, or whatever the open-window is on that product. Thanks for watching!

    I like the stud welder. I have been trying to figure out how to take some of the dings out of my 1964 Ford F250 and this looks doable because in some of the areas the is no way to go to the back of the panel. The truck has sentimental value since I bought it from my Dad in 1980 when I graduated from High School.

    • @ST-cy6we
      @ST-cy6we Год назад

      The trick with the stud welder is to take the studs only lightly. Just enough to hold. Then you can side cutter them off at the base and re-use the studs and not have a bunch to grind off.

    Hey Kevin more excellent work! Wish I had your guys to help on my last one! I'm sure you know this but taping up to style lines can help protect then too. Also got a piece of white foam project board (craft section), used a black wide tip marker to make parallel lines every couple of inches & hang it behind the panels I'm working on. With light on the board & overhead lights dimmed it really helps spot any defects needing more work. Keep up the good work - love to see the progress.

    Stroker kits. If I understand stroker kits,they involve a crankshaft with a longer throw,replacing a crankshaft with a shorter throw which brings the top of the piston level with top of the block. now a crankshaft with longer throw will result in the top of the piston going higher than the top of the block. how can I stop this from happening? Thank you.

    There's some really good info for people wanting to learn here. Chris Slee wouldn't be from New Zealand by any chance would he?
    With body-lines, when a sharp line is wanted, you can run some 1/4" masking tape just a hair from the line and sand to that.... just my 2cents worth.
    Bad practice to strangle a panel hammer though, they can't breath when you do that........

    You know I am not an auto body man but I can be pretty much be a handyman that will try anything to save myself a dollar. I have an old 2000 chevy work van that was a rust bucket at the bottoms on both sides. I mean I tore out the loose rust from the bottom up. I guess about 8" of exposure. The cavity inside looked good. So anyway I wedged a 1X4" board the length of the area underneath so to only catch drips or to give it hold support till it set up. For doing the repair & sprayed Great stuff expansion foam into the cavity . It foamed up good & tight & after hours of letting it dry & get hard , I then used a hack saw to cut the sides level to the metal. I sanded only on the meal near it so to spread body putty over it with a hardner & then sanded it so to spray paint it '& bygolly it turned out pretty nice & a lot better than what it originally was. It was a hell of an improvement Now I did not take time for to prime & perfect it as my attempt was only to improve it & prevent it getting worse,.not make it like new. I did this nearly 6 months ago & it's holding it'self like gold. Course it's obvious it's not professional, but it works for me as I am not trying to profit on any sale of it or hide the defects. I work on what I can do for myself & I am content with it. So anyway don't laugh, it's paid for. L.O.L I am the good man to have on hand, Dave the handyman home repair guy & free self defense trainer, if you RUclips me ( Dave Overbey) I will show you how I defeat the hands & feet using my technique. WithIn short time opposed to others training time you could be fight ready on time to fight most anybody of any style anytime with a smile. If so you liked my style I created, please initiate me a thumbs up & feel free to reply. My training is also easy without the punishment other fight clubs inflict as in truth this training can be done in your own basement anytime as it does not require the bologna & overtraining most clubs will train on or under. It's about fighting smarter not harder. It's not the muscle hustle that victory happens it is developing habits that reacts on a thoughtless reaction to every action. Habit's are habits that once you have it your stuck with it. So the importance of building the right habit's is crucial opposed to building the wrong ones & you will then have it But it's gotta be done redundantly slow as you go & the power & speed will naturally come. Haste makes waste developing the bad habits will delay your improvement. Take your time & chime in with the right habits fighting smarter not harder for it becomes a thoughtless reflex of action to counter action for if so you need think of his next move you will be punched / kicked multiple times before you ever react. Let the habits built into a reflex do the fighting a fight for you. Watch me Dave Overbey on RUclips & don't forget me a thumbs up. L.O.L Good luck

    Question Kevin Tetz: The part of the video that your saying low,high, low, high where you sound like your in hawaii, do you have any video's online that shows how you correct this? I have this situation on a quarter panel and I think it was caused by minor warpage on a quarter skin install I did. Do you have to hammer dolly this or if the high lows are not that far off is this something you can use body filler to level out? I haven't been able to find a video anywhere online that shows how to fix this. Thank you Tim

    So you sand to metal, then fast etch, then wipe off with pre painting prep, then epoxy primer, then use the filler primer, then primer surface, then paint and clear coat? Thank you for any advice.

      YOU DON'T SAND TO METAL, IF THE PAINT NOT TO BAD. DOING THAT CAN TURN YOUR CAR TO A RUST MOBILL

    ho kevin, I"ve watched the complete series of the zedsled and believe me I've learned alot from you but I have 1 question. I am currently painting my car and using anzal 2k paint. The thisng is I had to spray ondercoat first on some parts of the car since the gray primer is showing. By the way it's a mica red color for the base. I was not able to complete the work on the same day and have to spray base the following day. Do I still have to sand the undercoat before applying base coat or will the paint still adhere after approx.16hrs? Thanks i advance love the zed and nice job really. Keep it up.

    every where i look they say to spary epoxy primer on the bare metal then body work then poly for rust reasons? is this correct

    • @eastwoodco
      @eastwoodco  7 лет назад

      Many people prefer to spray epoxy first, then do bodywork on top of it because they believe that could be a problem. Others always do bodywork on the bare metal, then spray epoxy on top of it. If you have that concern, spray the epoxy first. Thanks for watching our videos.

      That does seem excessive. He may want to try spraying a high build primer like Polyester Primer Surfacer: www.eastwood.com/eastwood-contour-polyester-primer-direct-to-metal-surfacer.html

    amazing work fellas, but it is a bit intimidating because it seems like you need the luxury of a big garage where you can leave your ride bare for a good while

      You can also use After Blast if you're leaving the car in bare metal for a while and want to help prevent flash rust: www.eastwood.com/ew-after-blast.html
