This is what excities me about japan. The cleanliness, calmness, work ethic, and honesty that they show in each and every single thing that they do, including making something simple as sushi, is truly mesmerizing and amazing.
This was fantastic to watch. No annoying background music just the purity of the experience seen through the eye of a proffessional. My mouth is watering right now for some sushi since i hadn't had any since august 2015.
I don't like sushi, but this was amazing to watch. It's like art the way they dice it and put it together. Some really great shots here, and the ambient noise gives a great atmosphere. Love your videos TSV!!
I went to a store yesterday evening and watched the young men make sushi. Preparation is an art. Of course... I bought some sushi. I love it. Thank you for this video. Many thanks to your chef. ... Genie...
+KhmerD0g I lived 4 years in HK and I suffered food poisoning on a monthly basis. It is now my 13 years in Japan and I have NEVER had food poisoning here and this despite eating sushi on a weekly basis...
+TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful I agree, It definitely depends on the country and how food is handled. In Japan, sushi along with just about everything is handled with extreme care. Some Asian countries, you should never eat raw fish because of how it is stored and prepared. No one should you eat sushi from a fish that's been baking in the sun in a bacteria filled pool of water then cut up on a dirty bloody cutting board. Of course, people that have only lived this way think that all food is riddled with bacteria, which is not the case.
I love sushi and I had my first sushi bar experience in Japan just this past week...... This does it NO justice and I suggest anyone out there to at least experience it once in life, or many times after!
+TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful - One of the most amazing videos I've seen on youtube. Well done. It's a dream of mine to visit Japan and experience an authentic Japanese sushi experience :)
Ok "the best sushi" is it d name of the restourant or is it ur opinion? If it is your opinion, would you mind to share what makes it deserve to have the title "the best"?
+Kuma Gawa Hi, this is a shared opinion that I have with many others. Now why is that? First their sushi, the raw material is just fantastic, they are not mean in terms of quantity but keep the perfect balance required for a good sushi and they are affordable. I have been in many places in Tokyo and this is the one I always come back to. Jiro has great sushi, but the price of these Sushi make it a reap off, you are paying for a Brand more than for the food and people around the world are blinded by that. Ask around in Japan, not many people actually knows Jiro.
やはり、日本の寿司は素晴らしい食文化だと思う。新鮮な生の魚と酢の効いたシャリがたまんない。 I think making and eating sushi is wonderful Japanese food culture. Lots of Japanese like the combination of raw fish and the rice that tastes a little vinegary!! I love it,too.
actually used to have a place like this but ours one of those kids of restaurants where all of the food came around to all of the tables on small boats which floated around on a small lake and when the boat came around to your table that contained the food that you wanted, you would just take it off the boat.......very interesting to see all those small boats filled with food floating around to all the tables like it did......
I really hope to become a sushi chef in Aomori, Japan one day. I've always to get such a job in such a cold part of Japan. Only problem is I'm not Japanese so it might be hard. Chefs like these really inspire me.
There is a school in Tokyo called "Tokyo Sushi Academy" where you can train to become a sushi chef. Sushi chefs from this school are highly regarded and are successful in Japan and around the world. If you want to become a sushi chef, I recommend that you enroll in this school!!
I'm a foreigner with an IT background and when I was looking for a job in Japan I was invited for a job interview to sushi restaurant at one of job fairs. During the interview manager treated me to sushi and we had nice conversation. I rejected the offer, but it was interesting experience. It's totally possible to get this job if you speak Japanese.
Oh my god. Craving sooo much for sushi. Now. Always. Sushi is the most delicious thing i've ever ate. First Thing i will do when these crazy corona-times are over is going to the best and expensive sushi restaurant here in town. Oh yes! Nom nom nom.
I don’t enjoy wasabi so seeing how he put it on everything was a bummer. Lol but without the wasabi I’d be so happy to eat all the things he created. True art!
You can have sushi without Wasabi in Japan. Just say "wasabi-nuki" (kids often just says "sabi-nuki") and you will have no wasabi on your Sushi, there or everywhere in Japan for that matter.
TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful I’m totally aware that I can ask for no wasabi. I guess I should’ve said, I wanted to eat the sushi with my eyes as I watched. But the wasabi put me off. Lol
Wow, it just looks fantastic. I was drooling at 4:22 :) Only one suggestion: Could you state the type of seefood he is using? Anyone knows which type of clam he cuts at 1:02? Thanks!
This clam is called "赤貝 (Bloody clam)". They are red in color due to their high iron content. They have a strong bite and are fun to eat. It tastes a little sweet and is very tasty.
Как жаль , что нет русского перевода. И очень обидно , что нет на видео , как мастер работает с рисом ! Конечно , подача великолепная и разнообразная !!!! Спасибо !
+SuperPhoReal Well i didn't refer skill. I said the quality looks good. I'm relating to the quality of the food. Anyways I cannot tell if skill is good or not. I just like if it taste good. I don't like how there are japanese restaurants or any restaurants of any kind sell bad quality, but especially sushi since we are eating it fresh.
quality looks good, and the atmosphere looks good. obviously i could be wrong, but these 2 things adding up i think i can lean toward saying that the quality of the food there is good
I am amazed people eat raw fish. It can be teeming with toxic bacteria...these things are microscopic..the cleanest fresh from the sea fish can be infested with deadly organisms which can only be killed by thoroughly cooking the meat. The typical Salmonella and Vibrio vulnificus are the primary dangers. These are about 2 microns long. A micron is one millionth of a meter, invisible to the naked eye.
This is an awesome video! Really professionally made, if I could make a suggestion, I would suggest that you enhance the footage, increase contrast and color grade it slightly to bring out the reds in the meat and skin tones... Mmmm mmmm MMMMMM BABY!!!!!
Another magic cloth sushi chef. The cloth that wipes the hand, board, knife, and god knows what throughout the day. People need to understand that whatever is on the cloth is also on the food and you are gonna eat it raw.
i think what he meant was that even though at both place most of the food is prepared without wearing any gloves, people just dont seem to complain much on the japanese individuals but they sure have a problem when any indian makes some food the same way just because they are dark colored and seem "dirty" to them. HONESTLY speaking just dont mind them at all ,hypocrites will remain hypocrites
I love sushi but I agree the food preparation hygiene could have been better. The cloth should have been changed if not have different clothes for the food prep especially using that cloth to wipe the plate. I was concerned even as huge sushi fan.
FORREAL!.....he used that same cloth on everything! Disgusted, reason why I am truly picky about eating at just any sushi restaurant. One of the sushi restaurant I went to decided to scrape the remaining residue off a cutting board and onto the spicy sauce...HOLY! Never went there ever again!
I've worked in the food industry all my life and the things I see behind the kitchen will disgust you to where you will never want to eat out again. There are people out there who just don't give a damn about your health. Just watch Kitchen Nightmare and you'll see what I mean.
YOu should see some restaurant in state side. Where sushi bar was small, and the sushi cooks don't have access to a sink. They were literally wiping their hands on their aprons.
+imisslola321 You see, most of the time you are paying for the location and brand and the raw material and experience is most of the time a fraction of the cost of your meal. You can find amazingly expensive sushi in Japan that are some time barely better than the ones on this video. The difference will simply the location (fancy restaurant, and fancy brand). This is true as well for every kind of food around the world.
I agree I don't believe in super expensive Sushi Restaurant in Japan.........most of the time I make my own such as Toro sushi in the small town in US.........I satisfied with it.........I pay $15 .....and cut really thin with sharp Japanese knife.......I can taste the deliciousness all right...........this way,I don't have to go Sushi Restaurant run by Korean and they are so incredibly expensive! no thanks...........
+TokyoStreetView - Japan The Beautiful I totally agree what you said. Another thing is some restaurant owners understand what rich people is thinking. Therefore they priced their food at higher price because most rich people think cheaper price is not a good thing even they are the same quality. I've some wealthy friend always think like that. The main point is. They are showing off they can afford it not because the food has the same quality at a cheaper price. The conclusion is the Universe has its balance. Somebody has to create some thing super expensive for the wealthy to buy. Otherwise the rich people will go crazy.

What if i didn't like your video? Would you give me 2 $ for wasting my time...?????
.
How much (American) for the plate???
This is what excities me about japan. The cleanliness, calmness, work ethic, and honesty that they show in each and every single thing that they do, including making something simple as sushi, is truly mesmerizing and amazing.
Yes love sushi but it's not that simple to make.
This was fantastic to watch. No annoying background music just the purity of the experience seen through the eye of a proffessional. My mouth is watering right now for some sushi since i hadn't had any since august 2015.
+jurassicsushi I am glad you liked this video! Thank you for watching!
I always sit at the counter so I can watch the chef make the sushi. This looked like an awesome meal. Really makes me miss Tokyo.
This is the cleanest looking sushi making video I've seen
A privilege to watch a master at work.
This shit is so relaxing. Could happily fall asleep to a video of this guy just making sushi for a couple of hours
My mouth is watering. I want to thank Japan for this amazing idea of food and tradition. I need to buy some more soon! :)
I made Maki sushi today. Nothing like this master chef..
I need to arrange a trip to Tokyo just to taste this! Looks extra yummy.

+Cheebahh Thanks!!!
I’m eating sushi right now! While watching this video it’s feel good and delicious!
Now that is a full plate of happiness and admiration. How hateful are those big plates with some foos in the middle of it and great void around it.
I went to a store yesterday evening and watched the young men make sushi. Preparation is an art. Of course... I bought some sushi. I love it. Thank you for this video. Many thanks to your chef. ... Genie...
just looking beautiful~

Western sushi should learn from it. Its sad that there are 'sushi lovers' who dont really know about the traditional style of sushi
quick and looks delicious :)

The ratio of fish to rice is soooo much higher than it is here in the US!
Amazing, I wasn't a fan of sushi but I think I have just been converted. Great video.
