From an American perspective, $250 is a bargain for this kind of meal. This is an extremely high-end dining experience with a personal chef and a wide array of extremely fresh, expensive, and carefully curated ingredients. The bluefin tunas alone (including the chu-toro and oh-toro) would run you close to $80 per person in the United States.
100% this is what expensive food experiences should be, you are paying this much for quality food, excellent attention to detail and wonderful ambience to just let your stomach relax and your taste buds be stimulated 😋🤤
I love saba so much. Freshly pickled saba is so delicious. I like the tasting progression from the regular bluefin, to chu-toro (slightly fattier cut of bluefin), to oh-toro (fattiest part of the bluefin tuna belly). I bet it really highlights the differences. Also, the entire meal progresses from the lighter, more delicate types of sushi to the heaviest, most intense and complex flavors.
$250 isn’t bad at all. I’ve tried my hand at making sushi. Can make the rice, cut the fish and place in on top of rice? Sure but it’s usually a mess by the time I’m done, I’ve wasted some of the fish, the proportions aren’t right and I’m really frustrated that it doesn’t look elegant. The level these chefs work at is unreal. The look on her face at 17:08 and 18:30 is awesome! I’ve had that some look eating sushi!
Sushi rice is suprisingly difficult to perfect! Also the whole point of high end sushi is choosing fresh and best cuts of fish so ofc normal supermarket fish won't do :')
I think what you should do is pick one kind of sushi and perfect your technique. Just focus on this one, and find your own way to make it look 'elegant', or however you want it to look. You can't compare yourself to an expert that works in these restaurants, if you're not willing to pursue their level of expertise and excellence in at least ONE kind of sushi. They are good because they want to be good, and they do it hundreds of times or thousands of times. This isn't Play-Doh time with the kids -- you want to make a finely crafted meal, and that doesn't happen by accident... it happens by clear thinking and stubborn determination.
Take heart that these chefs have probably been diligently practicing their knife skills and hand dexterity to do this for a minimum of 10 years. Usually that's how long it takes to be recognized as a master of the art and it's rare for someone less than mastery level to be doing omakase. But the fact that you've given it a try yourself is really respectable too! I love trying my hand at anything and getting that increased respect for the skill of an expert. I'm not sure if you're into manga at all, but if you can find it, there's a vintage manga called Souta no Houcho, or Sota's Knife, that follows a young chef learning the ropes in hopes of saving his father's closed down restaurant and he stays up every night just peeling daikon with his knife to practice doing delicate work.
$250 is not bad at all ????!!!! Dude you can buy a whole cow and be fed for the whole winter for that money. This coudn`t even feed a hamster. Not worth it.

My mouth was watering 🤤 through the entire video, as the selection they served were all my favorites. At first I was wondering why you were wearing gloves, then realized you had a server next to you! That looked amazing! At $250.00 for 2 people, I think it was an excellent meal! In USA, probably would have been $250.00 each!
This meal was GREAT value for the money. I’ve had much less sushi, but of good quality, no dessert or Chawan mushi, no miso soup, for the same price. This was an amazing meal. Very high quality! I’d even fly to Malaysia from Tokyo to try it someday!
As far as omakase goes, this one looks like great value for money. Watching the chef is like watching performance art; absolutely mesmerising. The food quality looks great and the portion size is generous
The hand movements alone while he's forming each piece is amazing. Just imagining how much sushi that man must have made in his life to get to that point.
Very fancy, watching the chef massage your fish. Might be a nice birthday dinner, Although my favorite birthday dinner is mexican food with tacos, enchiladas and margaritas.
Basically "omakase" means "chef's choice". So omakase sushi listed on a menu means "a selection of sushi that the chef has chosen". Typically it will be whatever the chef has decided is particularly good that day, based on the day's catch and food availability. I guess it makes sense when the menu consists largely of seafood, which will vary from day to day depending on what the fishing boats catch.
It's so cool the way he shapes together the rice and fish. This mean looks sublime. I would love to eat blue fin tuna, even though they've been over fished into oblivion.
If you are getting truffles and caviar, $250 is cheap. Why are you the only customers at the table? Is this a sponsored video? Over here these Omakase places are book solid for months and all sold out within hours of reservations being available.
I was genuinely surprised by the truffle. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that actually used real truffle in anything. That's how expensive it is. As for the empty restaurant, this may be an odd time of day when there aren't a lot of customers. Also, it's a very expensive meal, especially by local standards, so it won't be crammed with people. AFAIK, Dancing Bacons doesn't do sponsorships.
@@annehaight9963 Not how good Omakase restaurants work. They don't sit people as they come. It's all pre-scheduled. You abide by their rules, their menu choice, their price. And you pay with a smile and thankful that the chef fed you. That's the Japanese costume. LOL

I don't know if I'm the only person, but every time when I watch the sushi video, I'm always concerning about the sanitation of the process. Most of the food are served raw and fishes are super perishable. They seem to preserve and process it very casually. Also, even he wears gloves all the time, but his hands touch everything without washing. I don't know. I could be over concerning, but just want to share my thought.
Sushi restaurants have high protocols for sanitation and inventory because of the things you have mentioned. If they fail to do so, it means the end of their business.

This looks absolutely delicious oml. Excellent chef and fish looks exquisite 👌 😋
When you level up your cooking to max stats but still play solo.
The music they are playing is very relaxing
At first I was wondering why you were wearing gloves, then realized you had a server next to you! That looked amazing! At $250.00 for 2 people, I think it was an excellent meal! In USA, probably would have been $250.00 each!
This meal was GREAT value for the money. I’ve had much less sushi, but of good quality, no dessert or Chawan mushi, no miso soup, for the same price. This was an amazing meal. Very high quality! I’d even fly to Malaysia from Tokyo to try it someday!
@@Pammellam where is this place?
@@Simon-te3gu somewhere in Malaysia i mean you can watch back the intro
As far as omakase goes, this one looks like great value for money. Watching the chef is like watching performance art; absolutely mesmerising. The food quality looks great and the portion size is generous
Everything looked great and tasty. Only thing that bothered me was the annoying elevator music 😂
Its definitely a first for me seeing sushi having brown rice but overall the experience and the quality of each dish sure is incredible
I love your videos, i wish we had this in regions of europe, anyways, have a great time and stay safe!
I am traveling today because I am traveling with you via your video. It's always such a great pleasure. Thanks so much!
The hand movements alone while he's forming each piece is amazing. Just imagining how much sushi that man must have made in his life to get to that point.
All I could think about is my head chef asking why I'm taking so long for a two piece nigiri.
Definitely jealous of your foodie Gf. Stumbled upon your channel I love all your videos so far, thank for allowing us to share your experience
Very fancy, watching the chef massage your fish. Might be a nice birthday dinner,
Although my favorite birthday dinner is mexican food with tacos, enchiladas and margaritas.
Love how the restaurant already has a relaxing BGM
so omakase is the sushi version of teppanyaki, except you use a torch instead of a grill. 🔥🍣
Notice how much respect he has for the fish.. this is perfection, no wonder its expensive
Gente, ameiiiii👏👏👏👏👏q lugar chique e que chef mais habilidoso, fiquei encantada
Ai ai quem dera algo assim, em Macapá...
Talvez em Belém ou Manaus tenha...
Falta a grana tbm TwT
I sit through the whole video with such amazing food and the serenity of it
20:33 the subtitles 😂that's literally a edible
It's so cool the way he shapes together the rice and fish. This mean looks sublime. I would love to eat blue fin tuna, even though they've been over fished into oblivion.
It is raw fish. They put MGS on it.
Hey I have those exactly drink coasters lmao glad to know there luxury 😂
That's one fine looking blade! and Sushi too lol - Great Job, Chef!!

Not how good Omakase restaurants work. They don't sit people as they come. It's all pre-scheduled. You abide by their rules, their menu choice, their price. And you pay with a smile and thankful that the chef fed you. That's the Japanese costume. LOL
It's incredible the amount of care the chef takes. If only taco bell took this much pride in it's food preperation.
I'm sure Taco Bell would be happy to do that if you are willing to pay $250 for a taco.
I wish I had a treasure box full of sashimi 🥲
I would never be able to afford that. But good thing I watch these videos so I can live through you guys
❤the price is certainly up there but the sushi looks delicious. ❤
I loved the ladies reactions. She seemed to really enjoy her meal.
I would definitely pay $250 to eat sushi like this.
The chef is a wizard with that short sword he’s cooking with.
had to quit when i saw her face
My Daughter took me to Nobu , Ca. for omakase last year for Fathers day , I will never forget it , major bucket list for me !!
definitely not worth the price 😂😂
I don’t touch anything that comes out of the ocean, let alone eat it…however enjoyed watching the gentleman put together the little masterpieces. Very fun video.
Looks fancy, but there's no reason to be having foie gras..
you're almost there

He lives in Malaysia or Singapore
@@christinapopescu9665 I'm not talking about her I'm talking about commenters
I don't know if I'm the only person, but every time when I watch the sushi video, I'm always concerning about the sanitation of the process. Most of the food are served raw and fishes are super perishable. They seem to preserve and process it very casually. Also, even he wears gloves all the time, but his hands touch everything without washing. I don't know. I could be over concerning, but just want to share my thought.
Sushi restaurants have high protocols for sanitation and inventory because of the things you have mentioned. If they fail to do so, it means the end of their business.
i must admit i felt in love with this chef
This is so wonderful to watch and I am almost sure it is delicious as well. Thank you so much for sharing this. Amen
Its magician job, with love from New Jersey, USA
I love this channel so much, Greetings from Mexico
i like the magic trick hand motions he does when he turns rice into sushi
The chef's technique in making sushi is phenomenal...🤘💙🤘
