The brake test is highly inaccurate given that you count and then stop. Sound takes time to travel through the walkie talkie and be processed by the receiver, then they act on the countdown. It would be more accurate to use a physical barrier or even measure the feet it took to stop from when the brakes were applied. I can tell the other driver does not start braking until about 1 second later after the Tesla has started braking. You can also try with the other driver doing the countdown so it's not one sided.

Keep in mind the weight, and although its very benificial that ev's don't need gears, they do allow for more low end torque and higher top speed, with the downside of having to shift and work into the powerband.
But the main pro is that the tesla is able to do that stock, while the M3 needs special fuel and huge mods which will compromise its reliability.
M3 was very impressive but still i wouldn't buy a gas car for the speed, but for the engaging driving experience. Ev's are also egaging but while gas is engaging with the car, ev's are engaging with the road.

The M3 weighs approximately 3,800lbs. The Plaid weighs approximately 4,800lbs. Literally a 1,000lb difference. Of course if they have similar horsepower, the advantage goes to the lighter car - especially at the higher speeds. The problem with most people that look at races is that they think horsepower is everything. Obviously it is a very important factor. However, weight, aerodynamics, weather, traction etc. all play a role.

The limiting factor is the battery, but what it means is that it can send that 1234 hp to the motors in different amounts depending on where the traction is. To go fast you need big batteries with lots of cells.

So, a massively modified M3 Competition vs. a standard Model S Plaid WITHOUT track pack aka the Tesla maxed out at 165 instead of 200 mph.
    I'm calling BS.
On the other hand though... an M3 Competition isn't cheap, a massively tuned one even more expensive.
Lastly... the standard Plaid doesn't have the "good" brakes but still stopped sooner than the M3 - which means the brakes on this M3 are, compared to its power, utter rubbish.
Add in the fact that the M3 needs high powered fuel to even get that performance and we have a clear win for the Tesla.

Not true. The regular tesla model s plaid posted a 7:35 .. the taycan turbo s posted a 7:33 .. porsche beat the plaid when both used street tires . tesla "Track pack" cheated it had to use track tire semi slicks (GoodYear Eagle F1 SuperCar 3Rs) that are only used for track times not for street use to beat the porsche taycan, panamera turbo s, m5cs,m3cs, and some other 4 door sedans that all used STREET TIRES. The tesla plaid has 1,000hp and the other cars i named have 400hp less then the plaid. Yet when they all used street tires those cars beat it. The semi slicks on the track pack plaid alone shaves off 10-15 sec. The track pack then posted a 7:25
Think how embarrassing that is that a car with 1000hp couldn't beat a 400hp less taycan. BMW/Porsche design and handling is on another planet. The track pack plaid doesn't use road legal tires.
