What car is the best value for money?! ⬇
911
Toyota best value for money all day and i love the Porsche
@@Dekraakjes Agree BMW Z4 will be falling in to pieaces in 10yrs time
@@bosshogg690 yes thats a fact
Who has 30k to put into a new car? I certainly don't. I feel absolutely impoverished when Rory can say that 30k is nothing for a new car.
I'd be bless to find a TT for 4k.
The way they walked in and introduced themselves, it felt like new Top Gear. Amazing start to the video. Can't wait to watch it now.
@@Taylor___ They hired them because they are great, not because they are woman and black.
They were hired because they were excellent not because they wanted to tick a DEI box @@Taylor___

Nope, went for The Senna 😅😅
TTs are the biggest pile of junk ever
@@markgt894 Still better than a Senna which will catch fire 🤣

hey its a good car
Did the Ferrari run over a family of smurfs or where does that colour come from? It looks absolutely hideous.
It’s one of their EU press cars and it’s speced terribly
That 296 GTB livery is paying homage to a retro livery of the Ferrari 250 LM car that won the LeMans in 1965.
Looks like blue painter’s tape to me. Red/Blue? No.
Rich people generally have no tatse, although they think they do. That is who this paint schem is aimed at.
@@janrdoh alright buddy 🤣 it is a reference to the Ferrari 250 LM that won lemans, but you'll come up with some stupid reason to bring people who work harder than you down. Well done mate, I hope that pumped your ego a bit.
I think we need a video of Alex L and Alex K both driving the senna and giving their take on it please, I think they deserve it.
Absolutely agree with this 😅
Absolutely disagree, keep them both off the show
@@MoaningGit Alex and Alex are far more enjoyable to watch than Rory.

You can't get a decent condition Mk1 TT for £1k. £2-3k with some issues maybe. The cheap ones are dross and should be avoided.
I bought my 225 Mk1 for £2.8k in Feb last year. Low mileage example. Absolutely pristine, and has since given me (almost) no problems
Got my mk1 TT for 1,400euros. Been 4 years with minor issues and servicing, super happy with it!
@@dominicedwards-wilds4333exactly, you paid almost 3 times the amount that they said you can buy one for, at 1k your looking at the bottom end with big millage and probably riddled with issues and missed maintenance.
It’s an advert for autotrader obviously
They say this one costs 2k in the video so a bit of a clickbait
As the title implies, strictly as a value, the Z4. You're getting alot of vehicle for 10g pounds. You have to spend 3 times more to move into a BRZ???? That's insane. The other vehicles are just for show. Anyone shopping around with that amouint of money to burn will pick what they desire. However, in this particular lineup, the Z4 would be tough to beat. Even when you do have to do maintenance to it, you're still ahead of the game. 🙂
The natrual conversation and banter between the 3 of you is refreshing. A lot of other presenters are lacking this nowadays. Great content guys 👏👏. You guys have my dream job 🤣
Imo, nothing beats a small, lightweight, properly balanced and set up sports car - with analogue conrols. Be it on road or track, the cheaper options are 10x more fun because they require the driver to actually do the driving. Top end supercars are magnificent things, but you can't just thrash it everywhere with full throttle and throw it into corners like you just don't care. My choice from this pack would be the GR86, the Z4 M Coupe or the 911 at a stretch.
the 991/992 arent proper 911s anymore tbh, they are too fat and GT. 997/96 were the last true 911s
@@CGCTV There's truth to that... but drive a base 992 and they still handle and respond like true sports cars, the proof is in the pudding. Porsche have the set up down like no other manufacturer, the cars feel so much smaller and lighter than they actually are, they're huge fun to drive - which is what a sports car is about, fun, not paper stats.
@@Nemoticon Oh i know ive driven the 992 S, yes its a great car and handles well it just doesnt like a true sports car like the smaller 997/6 gen did and especially as every engine varient is turbo charge (except GT3) the reward of ringing out the NA flat 6 of prev gen just isnt there. Its too easy, if that makes sense? But thats what im saying the stats are too much, you hit illegal speeds way to quick without the reward of working for it, put your foot down and you are there. Dont get me wrong 992 great gen, but not the proper sports car 911 used to be. Also remember when 911s were actually affordable sports cars? but thats a different topic. IMHO the Cayman/Boxster are the current gen Proper Porsche sports cars
@@CGCTV Don't forget, things move on, the game develops and the field of play advances. Back in the day, true sports cars weighed in less than a ton... that's just not possible today, unless you go for a low volume, beautique manufacture and get a Morgan 3-Wheeler or something similar. In context, the 992 is a great sports car for today, but would have been a full fat GT 30yrs ago.
@@Nemoticon Yeah thats very true,
I am in America and this episode was the first time seeing a Z4 coupe. I must have one.
Really? Although they didn’t make many of both the 3.0si and 3.2 M Coupes I’m surprised you haven’t seen at least one considering they were made at the Spartanburg Plant in South Carolina
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All these people hating on the TT have clearly never driven one. I’ve had mine since feb 2023 and it is a rocket. It’s so much fun to drive, and an absolute no brainer for the price
I'm not hating on the TT, I just think they're doing viewers a disservice claiming that one is just a thousand pounds (1250 usd) - give me a break. You can make good content without lying.
The last 2 sporty cars I've bought were less than that BUT neither of them was driveable, I had to put thousands more into them and I do that for fun. Nobody is buying a $1250usd car ready to drive anywhere.
It's just a Golf with a different body? Let's not get ahead of ourselves here
@@R03333 hol up, its not that simple, og tt is using a modified pq34 platform which was first launched under the a3, anyways, modifications include: shorter wheelbase, cast iron front control arms allowing camber adjustment, nicer geometry hub carriers, somewhat bigger brakes, quicker rack, front subframe bracing, strut bar and quattro haldex cars are blessed with an independent multi link rear axle. To me the tt has always been a hot hatch that happens to look like a coupe or a sensible all weather sports car, not a bad package really
£1k Audi TT will be 10 owners, Cat S/N with a lot of issues, costing £££
Exactly, will be a crap box. I would get a 350z instead.
Great video. Not going to invoke the name (because let's be honest, everyone else already has) but it really feels like a segment from the best of TV's motoring journalism/entertainment days.
I actually have this Z4 in my saved ads at the moment. Definitely want one and after this vid might go and view the car
Wow, looks like GBP is a very strong currency now if this TT is only £1,000
a rusty, non running 1.8T quattro TT in the states is 4-5 grand, depending on location. UK used car prices are some of the lowest in the world, which makes me sad.
Category N means it's been taken off the road, ie a form of "scrap/total" title. Insurance will be painful.
@@grievuspwn4g3 cat N insurance doesn’t cause issues as it’s non structural. It’s only CAT S that effects breakdown cover/insurance
And yet the Americans get all the fun engines. The best vfm engine we have is a 1.8TD while you get to rip out LS engines
They’re cheap because of lots of lease policies and they can’t really be sold outside the country.
I wasn't going to click on the video. Then I spotted Alex . What was he doing with any of the 10k+ motors? Way too good and pricey for him 😂
I'm glad I did watch . Much better than I expected 🍻
The TT is definitely good VFM. If you buy a cheap one expect there to lots of little things wrong with it (mine had 24 fault codes plus other issues that don't generate codes) but if you take the time, put in a bit of effort, get it up to scratch and look after it, it will serve you well.
Love a Z4 hardtop.
Also, did anyone else notice the fact that the 911 is actually a 7 speed manual, not 6 as stated…
(There’s even a shot of the gear knob with a 7 on 🤦♂️)
Thought I’d check the comments before mentioning the slip up about it being 6-speed when it seems some of us know it’s a 7!
So glad to see AutoAlex here!
Probably the best video you trio have done - it's like Top Gear - only better and now that you've set the standard and to thank your subscribers Alex, rory and alex, you need to make of these types of videos. do the same of more everyday accessible cars. Looking forward to the next comparison line up. The Senna looks like something out of Transformers (and that's not a compliment). The car that stood out was the Ford. Wicked! This is the spiritual successor of Ford's GT90 concept car which never saw production but was a fantastic looking car. Can't wait for the next 30min video. Cars guys are also watch guys. Question to Rory, what watch were you wearing ?
This show looks like it would be on actual television.
Great job!
Love these kind of comparisons. Always puts things in perspective!
Extra kudos to Rory for matching clothes and car colour combo lol.
Great chemistry from the trio, well done to all involved!
I won’t take the TT slander. I’ve got a 3.2. And sure it breaks all the time but I love it😭
Hear ye
Love this amazing trio of talented motoring personalities - they're simply the best !
The Z4 is the best VFM sports car for the street in the group. The lower hp means you can drive it harder without getting into crazy speeds. That said, I'd take Carrera T. There is no substitute.
Congrats on reaching 1 million, love your work, so keep it up, and greetings from Slovenia ;)
Had my Z4 coupe for 12 years, still an awesome little car, still turns heads too.
£ for £, that Z4 is the winner of the video
By the 12th minute I realized I was just here for Alex Kersten, such a good presenter. As far as fun cars go though, very hard to beat the GR86 in this company! Can't argue with Chris Harris' review of it either... That said: the Z4 is a fantastic argument but consumables on the toyota will be constantly cheaper and if you're putting the 200,000+ miles on the car Alex likes... a decade down the line that will definitely matter to the average consumer. Give it a few years and compare the 30,000 car with the (adjusted) 60,000 car for performance for money with common repair costs (if you aren't a youtuber with connections lol)
nice! love it! close to what Top Gear was in older Days! keep up the good job!
The best Car Vid I've watched in a long time. Fantastic entertainment
The cheapest performance cars are usually the best. A BRZ, a Civic Type R, a 911, vehicles in these price ranges, which can vary greatly. Have to be good to many customers, not just a few. Calling them cheap may have been insensitive, but these cars have devoted followings that their customers understand. They know they don't have the fastest or most powerful, but they also get😂 that these vehicles, in the realm of the working man or woman. Punch far above their weight in terms of enjoyment and provide pretty good value.
Z4 and GT86! ! If you want a 6-cylinder engine, choose the Z4, and if you want handling and ease of customization, choose the GR86.
The two are similar and different, and should not be directly compared, but each has a different customer base.
Both are truly great cars.
Insane video production
If not everyone drove every car it's hard to have a fair opinion.
I paid £900 for a black Audi TT 225. I did 30,000 miles on it in two years until the clutch master or slave cylinder failed. I still have the car. I don't mind spending money on a car after 30,000 miles of trouble free motoring. It's not the sportiest thing i've ever driven but good value for money😊.
Damn was waiting to see the Corvette C8 take the value for money category
Value for money, I'd go with the GR86 myself. This coming from a 911 owner.
The 2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe RWD is by far the car you realistically want to own.
I've had my GT86 for 10 years. No issues, not ever. Completely stock. Service normally. Taken it drifting. Warm it up then hammer it every time I drive. Can actually use it. Here in Australia it's not worth speeding so what's the point of more power? Bragging? I'm happy. Love what you love.
This channel seems to be based on looking at only new cars but... a great segment could be on used sports/supercars in a similar format to this video. I feel like there is a huge market around cars above 50-75k. For example, if I could I'd get a used 991.2 over a new 992 any day, the Porsche dealerships are full of approved used cars. I'm sure there's a vast range of choice for older super cars in that price range too. The 992 Carrera T was a terrible choice in my opinion for the price. Honestly, the under 30k range is still very strong anyway. The Z4 seems so cool and hasn't been anything I've considered before. My head is spinning for the amount of options that could be considered for in between the Z4 and 911, but sadly this video didn't show that.
I am glad that they were honest and picked the cars they really wanted in the beginning. Truth is, there are so many affordable nice cars to drive today if you have an open mind about badges.
Senna is beautiful but can you do your weekly shop, avoiding potholes and speed bumps
This is so much better than TopGear - I really enjoy this channel - I’m not fanatical about cars…. but starting to like them 👍
I'm in 'murrica and right now 4th generation Mustangs are close to free and an excellent platform to build anything you like. The V6 is an iq test because stock they make dismal power but there's a lot of low hanging fruit if you're up for the challenge of harvesting it. They weigh just over 3000lb so you don't need a huge peak horsepower number to put a smile on your face.
You found a TT that never had the recall spoiler installed, good find.
Amidst the quest for the ultimate bargain TT and the debate over the joy of driving 'analog' sports cars vs. the luxury of high-end supercars, it's refreshing to see the passion for automotive adventures alive and well! It's not just about the price tag or the brand; it's the thrill of the drive, the stories behind each scratch, and the laughter over the quirks that make our rides uniquely ours.
ARE MY EYES DECEIVING ME? FINALLY A GR 86 REVIEW FROM AUTO TRADER UK 💙💙💙
So, I very clearly love the GR 86, but these are all AMAZING drivers cars and they represent everything that's right in the car world :') Thanks for everything AutoTrader UK, and congratulations! ❤️
Rory is without doubt in the top 5 car journalists of all time, his passion and the way he relays this passion and exactly how the car feels reminds me of the early days of EVO magazine, the other two are great too and you all make a great team.
Congrats on 1 million. You 3 work well together
Best car, Senna I mean how could it not be, Best Value BMW as Alex said Values going up - That alone is value for money.
Great video
I like the TT and the Porsche !!!
Both cars you can use in daily use !!!
FINALLY got around to this video! On one hand, I applaud you for not falling for the cliche of introducing the MX-5 as the bargain basement option, but on the other hand, I'm disappointed not to see its inclusion - yes, it is a sportscar, don't @ me 😅.
Great video, though, and easily a lot more watchable than most recent offerings from Top Gear.
On another note, I echo Rory's thoughts on the GR86 - great car to drive, and I think it's considerably better than the GT86.
Cars are like homes they dont always add up but we gotta have them. Personally I drive only Lexus now but recommend Toyota also for the most reliable cars made. However these companies may not have the greatest sports cars.
22:26 Rory was the only one aloud to drive it 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
*allowed
In the real world I have to go with the Toyota. If I was wealthy I would go with the Ford. Congrats on million subscribers. I hope to reach the same amount someday. I have a long way to go.
The Ford GT is Ferrari-esque in most aspects. La F, to be more specific. Looks, Exclusivity, Rarity, Price, Value, Interior ergonomics, the whole shebang. And for that, I love it. By the way, more of these whole Autotrader Gang reviews please 🙏🏾
Any TT for a grand will be a heap or a project, even a 2 grand one will be a money pit.
Very nice mix of 5th gear and top gear.
3 cheap car garage should be , ,1 . Z4 coupe e86 daily driver 2. Mk1 tt v6 supercharged rookie racing, 3 . 986 boxter s weekend chilling 😄 . 19k purchase, 11k fixing things up 😂 , 30 k cheap pretention 😂
Uhhh that TT is like perfect collector car spec, it matches the press car at the time, it's even missing the rear spoiler which is ludicrously rare, that's gotta be at least £5k!
great quality video
Top gear vibes, this was nice to watch, very refreshing 👌
Glad you enjoyed!
After the Z4 and the 86 it’s kind of a case of diminished returns. Those cars are just allot of fun and all the driving feels you need. Everything beyond them is kinda bragging ammo. Now I’d love a Porsche but could not justify the cost. Then ownership costs as well.
I love the fact that Ford GT has the same infotainment screen as my Mondeo!
My SEAT has the same one as a Urus 😂
I still would struggle to call a TT a sports car, a small coupe my be. It is just a mk4 Golf really in a frock.
Same terrible chassis
Even IF i had the funds spending more than double the price of my 1st car on garish stripes for a Ferrari would seriously have me asking questions about my life and taste 😂
Did the cars have isofix on the driver's seat, so Alex K could safely drive them? 😉😂
It's the law of diminishing returns ....the further up the scale you go you're paying disproportionality more for slight improvements... the Senna is amazing but only if you're ridiculously wealthy and let's face it when Rory was adding up all the extra costs he forgot to mention having another car because no one is going to use a Senna as their daily driver
I Love All Those "Audi A3", "BMW Z4", "Porsche 911"...
one of the best vidoes in this channel
I always love it when they say, "30K is like nothing for a brand new car!" 🤣 Great vid guys 👏
@26.05 he absolutely is fearing for his bank account 😂, the laugh after was his cheeky childish I got away with that one haha
All depends on what makes you smile. 86 for me for tail happy fun and a bike or two. Have to pay me a grand to drive a TT again. Fun video thanks very much.
Thank you very much for the video, outstanding, really. The top three car journalists in my book, also in the top three foreheads in the industry. I’d have 1000 shitboxes in the garage before I’d ever buy a Senna.
You could never afford one 😂 makes sense why
Best trio since the old top gear era 🎉
WELL THIS WAS A GREAT 28mins spent well 🥂🔥
The trio is good entertainment.
What a bumper review! Imagine paying only 1K for an Audi TT. I thought I got a bargain paying that for the 1990 CitiGolf 1.8 Sport that I recently bought here in South Africa!
Genuinly there’s a TT for 700£ on fb market place by me .. never been tempted by them but might for tht price
And then imagine the state of it for that price 😆
I think it's a rare find, that Golf. I envy you, mate. Loved the Velocity. In a world of electronics/gadgets with windscreens & tyres, such analogue cars are a thrill.
@@Silver-st2zq ur not wrong ive just been to look at it .. dash cluster doesn’t light at all but still runs fine if it was the bam 225 id of got it

Please do more videos like this with the 3 of u. Reminds me of old top gear.
This was fun, kids. I always think of Shmee150 when I see the Senna and of course , Mr Senna himself. (RIP)
I’d stick a boot spoiler on that TT if I were you - it will help with the twitching…..

I really like these 3 together.
Senna for days, weeks, months n years. Jus the best out there unless u throw in the valkyrie. That is on another level still
I’m with Kirsten, the Ferrari is worth the extra, you comparing a sports car with a low end supercar. But for me the king at the top is the gt, my favourite though is the z4 as you can get it closer to the limits and your less worried about the price tag.
people saying this feels like old top gear? nah fam. this feel like old fifthgear
Z4 as value for money, GR86 as a new daily, 911 if you have the spare cash and want a nice weekend car.
I like this Michael De Santa and Lamar Davis duo
I love mclaren senna i don't know when but i will buy that car it's perfection ❤
Love this episode! And a very well deserved 1M!
The Z4 gets my vote... Nearly bought one on a number of occasions, but plumped for a Cayman S and also CLS Shooting Brake AMG 63 later...
Z4 for value, but hands down the Ford GT if funds allowed...
911?... Methinks not... Rather go back to a Cayman... Far better handling car...
Senna? Awesome just that I prefer the Ford GT...
Ferrari?... I'll take a C8 Corvette Z07 or latest NSX any day...
