Thanks for the review! I have this monitor preordered from Newegg. One thing I haven't seen people go in depth on is the "tactical switch." I have no use for it personally but I've read that the button can be remapped to other functions. Is it possible to remap it to switch between active inputs, like from DP to HDMI? Having a quick shortcut button would be great for switching back to a game guide video on PC when playing a single player game on console. A short video or even just a list of all the possible remapping options would be greatly appreciated! 🙏

I've read that you cannot use the Nvidia DSR features when DSC is enabled (in the Nvidia control panel, this is the upscaling option). Can you confirm this @TheDisplayGuy for the DP 1.4a monitors? Other than future proofing my purchase, this is a big reason why I preordered the DP 2.1 variation.

I personally believe the MSI stand is the best. It takes up less space and it doesn't require you to readjust keyboard and mouse. Any stand that's like LG and Aorus is horrible.
Does calibrating the monitor or using an ICC profile actually fix EOTF tracking and colors in games or when watching content? I know SDR games and other non-color managed apps ignore ICC profiles except for e.g. basic 1D gamma adjustment. Doesn't Windows HDR calibration also create an ICC profile (for HGiG)? What if you want to calibrate with a colorimeter, but also use the Windows calibration ICC profile, or do you not need Windows calibration when calibrating with a colorimeter?
I don’t typically share color adjustments because of panel variation unless the display is way off. Gamma adjustments will fix EOTF problems, or at least make them much better.

That's what I wanted to ask as well, since I couldn't find any mention of a G-Sync-compatible certification on Gigabyte's website. I think if it was certified they would probably mention that.
It’s not certified G-Sync Compatible but it’s certified FreeSync Premium Pro. All FreeSync (and HDMI VRR) monitors work with the Nvidia Control Panel G-Sync feature as well. It’s just not specifically tested by Nvidia.
@thedisplayguy I recently got a s90c and was looking to mod it, but what is throwing me off is the model number is 55A4OUGOC whereas every entry I see is ROC or SOC. Do you know if they changed anything in 2024 for the s90c?

I so far could only notice the difference that the non P has no DP 2.1. But is it more? I ordered the FO32U2P already and now I really hope its glossy and NOT matte, because I always play in the dark
Hello mine came with a display area gap to the right and bottom but up and left it’s near the plastic frame. So the oled itself is positioned this way on the frame. Did you notice it on your unit?
Hmm think I'll stick with my aw2725df and my gigabyte M32UC. I was waiting a while for this monitor as I love my 32UC, and it seems good, but not so much it's worth replacing my current 2 monitors 🤷🏿♂️
Can you use DSR and custom resolutions with this monitor with an Nvidia GPU? I have a PG27AQN 1440p 360hz monitor that uses DSC, and I never use the monitor because I can't use DSR and custom resolutions, but I'm not sure if all monitors that use DSC have the same limitation, or if there's some other reason for it. I like to play a lot of games at a wider aspect ratio, e.g. 3840x1800, as many games give you a wider field of view when you do that, which you can't achieve any other way, but you can't do that with the PG27AQN and I don't want to ever buy another monitor that doesn't let you do that.
"Can you use DSR and custom resolutions with this monitor with an Nvidia GPU?" No you can't until nvidia releases GPUs with the new dp spec and guess what u gotta buy one of those lol
DSC's biggest caveat is the fact that you can't use DLDSR for the absolutely perfect picture quality if you are able to run your game at those resolutions, there can be some compression artifacts but it's extremely rare and hence virtually lossless, it really isn't as big of an issue as people make it out to be. DLDSR does look really great though. I found those observations that QD-OLED has better text rendering by other people interesting as well. I was gonna guess that because RGWB is closer to a real RGB stripe it would be better (and it does seem to be better for fringing, according to your observations, which is my main issue anyway)
Sorry, monitor and render technology noob here a couple of questions, are you saying dp 1.4a DSC is pretty much indistinguishable from 2.1 UHBR20 running at 4K 240? (what kind of screen artifacts occur, any particular games?) are you saying to run games in DLDSR downsampled back to 4K, or is native still a better option
@@Dizzyfatpigeon "what kind of screen artifacts occur, any particular games?" none, testing dsc vs no dsc its basically 99.9% chance you see no difference in that case, the only way actual pros were able to see differences is with tests that probe the weakness of dsc, anyway the downside to dsc is nvidia drivers are kinda meh with dsc causing some issues and locked out features such as super sampling above native resolution "not really needed at 4k", integer scaling and the actual bugs in the nvidia driver were alt tab black screen on fullscreen games "this needs to be fixed asap" and before on some monitor using dsc random black screen dropouts while using gsync "fixed now"
@@CoCo.-_- Thanks, in that case I probably have my eyes on whichever comes in stock, and not get caught up on port spec kinda crazy that UBHR20 at 4K 240hz uncompressed Requires almost 72 gbps data rate, but 1.4a DSC is able to compress that all the way down to around 34.2 gbps with almost no artifacting I guess when the 4k 360HZ monitors inevitably come next year we will see 2.1 spec across all released
@@Dizzyfatpigeon no problem, I'm a massive suckers for image quality and I have compared dsc vs none dsc and it's basically the same thing, it's why I now have no problems using 4k 240hz oled, I'm very picky with this stuff myself and I would not be able to use it if you could actually tell the difference, the people that usually like to talk bad about it have probably never used it, the only bad things are the stuff above that I have already pointed out and those issues have been the biggest, image quality is just not on that list and you will probably see dsc continue to be used in the future maybe in a ton of ways outside bandwidth compression

It’s a common thing with qd oled. It’s rarely noticeable in normal circumstances but if you’re next to a big window it might be. But I think the better colors and dp 2.1 are more than worth it. And if you play a darker game for example you want to dim the room anyway
As someone with the LG 32GS95UE this guys take on the matte coating is severely overblown. There is no perceptible grain and it’s not oily. Even right beside my AW3423DW when turned on they look almost the exact same.
matte coating is not universal, can vary a lot by manufacturer and model (just like semi-glossy, glossy), the matte on my older ips is just awful...can see the grains clearly
"There is no perceptible grain and it's not oily.." Followed by, "when turned on they look *almost* the exact same." You're coping and it's embarrassing.
Ugh…..these 32” OLEDs are great panels but they are not bright enough for me. I can’t believe I’m actually considering a 55” S95D for a monitor. I do t care much about the new matte finish. I just want the brightest panel I can get with no haloing. Thoughts?
If you pick up a 95C while they are currently on runout, you will get it for about half the price of a 95D. Alternatively, if you want the 95D, if you wait until the same time, next year, they will be on the same runout prices as the current 95C.
@@ARedditor397 Unfortunately qd oled coating is extremely easy to scratch and damage when cleaning. That a big no just like fan in a monitor in lg and alienware cases.
Those monitors are only for early adopters not able to wait. The next generation of monitors coming next year with uhbr 20 and higher brightness will be worth it not to mention nvidias 50 series delivering enough fps
I’m telling y’all right now I had 4 oleds, Samsung , LG ultra gear 2023 models and the 2024 model, and asus… they all show wonderful af but at the same time if u have a good ips panel keep it u don’t have to upgrade I promise u… trying my best not to type a paragraph and I still did smh 😂😂😂
Unless the monitors have an overengineered cooling solution the monitors just wont go as bright unless people were okay with burned in monitors far sooner at which point I doubt you'll be seeing any burn in warranties being offered. PHOLED will be what can bring TV levels of HDR brightness in monitors, but TVs will still have a lead by their nature of being larger and having an easier time to dissipate the heat regardless of technology being used.

Do you prefer this over the asus 32 in 4k qd oled, between aorus and the asus im trying to figure which one to get. Id be coming from an lg c2 42.
Nvm you answered my question in the video. Only wish this was sold at best buy
I watched the vid but have no idea which one he said he’d prefer between the two. What did he decide on?
Ditto, I watched twice and must have missed the answer (twice) 😬.
Are you sure it's Gsync compatible?
That's what I wanted to ask as well, since I couldn't find any mention of a G-Sync-compatible certification on Gigabyte's website. I think if it was certified they would probably mention that.
It’s not certified G-Sync Compatible but it’s certified FreeSync Premium Pro. All FreeSync (and HDMI VRR) monitors work with the Nvidia Control Panel G-Sync feature as well. It’s just not specifically tested by Nvidia.
@thedisplayguy
I recently got a s90c and was looking to mod it, but what is throwing me off is the model number is 55A4OUGOC whereas every entry I see is ROC or SOC. Do you know if they changed anything in 2024 for the s90c?
Join the discord if you have questions on this.
Hi! Does this have a similar uniform brightness mode like the ASUS? That’s a very important feature to me
you are mentioning 07:49 be aware its 1.4 and not 2.1 but in the specs is written 2x 2.1 i dont get it
Are color temperature settings locked in HDR and sRGB mode?
Are there any flat screen 32 OLED with HDMI eArc?.. the only one i’ve seen is the Alienware, but not sure about the curve screen
The new Asus suppose to have it, but I think that comes out on an update.
Does this monitor run VRR?
hmm is the FO32U2P glossy or not?
displayninja it is listed as glossy, displayspecifications it is listed as matte 🤔
What is even different for the non P Model? I so far could only notice the difference that the non P has no DP 2.1. But is it more?
I ordered the FO32U2P already and now I really hope its glossy and NOT matte, because I always play in the dark
Pixel cleaning if run it once a day is it gonna damage the monitor?
Once a day ? mine do it after 5 hours per once.
good to see a hands on review
Hello mine came with a display area gap to the right and bottom but up and left it’s near the plastic frame. So the oled itself is positioned this way on the frame. Did you notice it on your unit?
Will you be doing a review of the Aorus MO34wqc2? Can’t find any info on gigabytes new 34” ultrawides
Hmm think I'll stick with my aw2725df and my gigabyte M32UC. I was waiting a while for this monitor as I love my 32UC, and it seems good, but not so much it's worth replacing my current 2 monitors 🤷🏿♂️
i have m32u but let me tell you this monitor is beast compared to va or ips so i recommend you to give it a go.
@@ozgurkuzu2202 I'll check it out again, I need to compare it to my Alienware aw2725df. Thanks for the feedback 🎉.
@@jingtroc23 yeah men you have to see it in real not in youtube because it looks same as ips misleading you ..u re welcome my friend have a nice day.
Great video
Can we PD be set to 90W but sacrificing screen brightness like the Asus one?
Sorry, monitor and render technology noob here
a couple of questions,
are you saying dp 1.4a DSC is pretty much indistinguishable from 2.1 UHBR20 running at 4K 240?
(what kind of screen artifacts occur, any particular games?)
are you saying to run games in DLDSR downsampled back to 4K, or is native still a better option
@@Dizzyfatpigeon "what kind of screen artifacts occur, any particular games?" none, testing dsc vs no dsc its basically 99.9% chance you see no difference in that case, the only way actual pros were able to see differences is with tests that probe the weakness of dsc, anyway the downside to dsc is nvidia drivers are kinda meh with dsc causing some issues and locked out features such as super sampling above native resolution "not really needed at 4k", integer scaling and the actual bugs in the nvidia driver were alt tab black screen on fullscreen games "this needs to be fixed asap" and before on some monitor using dsc random black screen dropouts while using gsync "fixed now"
@@CoCo.-_- Thanks, in that case I probably have my eyes on whichever comes in stock, and not get caught up on port spec
kinda crazy that UBHR20 at 4K 240hz uncompressed Requires almost 72 gbps data rate, but 1.4a DSC is able to compress that all the way down to around 34.2 gbps with almost no artifacting
I guess when the 4k 360HZ monitors inevitably come next year we will see 2.1 spec across all released
@@Dizzyfatpigeon no problem, I'm a massive suckers for image quality and I have compared dsc vs none dsc and it's basically the same thing, it's why I now have no problems using 4k 240hz oled, I'm very picky with this stuff myself and I would not be able to use it if you could actually tell the difference, the people that usually like to talk bad about it have probably never used it, the only bad things are the stuff above that I have already pointed out and those issues have been the biggest, image quality is just not on that list and you will probably see dsc continue to be used in the future maybe in a ton of ways outside bandwidth compression
is the monitor glossy or matte?
glossy
The asus supposed to be superior but what more will it offer?
When are the unboxing video coming out ?
So if the Alienware AW3225QF and the Gigabyte AORUS FO32U2P had a fight, which one would display the better image??
Thank you!
I will have videos comparing them soon.
@@thedisplayguy nice! I'm waiting for that than
someone answer: is this the same exact specs as the Asus PG32UCDM if so which would you rather go with and why? im stuck choosing
Not exactly the same. The usbc charging is capped at 20w I think where on the asus you get 65w
@@jrlivingspaces I went with asus, OPEN BOX im waiting for it to arrive tomorrow, hopefully not damages. It was $200 in savings so i took the shot, we shall see
@@SVR2010REELS Congrats my only hesitation in getting open boxed with these panels is their so proned to scratches I hate that I have to bear with it for a 1000+ monitor. If I'm spending that much its gotta be perfect. The LG is tempting only because even if I buy it used from bestbuy I won't have to worry about scratches or any of that due to the matte finish butttt yeah matte finish for an 1100 (open box) OLED MONITOR
This might be my next monitor
Are u going to review the ROG PG32UCDM
I think these monitors use the same display matrix from LG don't they?
@VamIy they use the same matrix but QDOLED is samsung and WOLED is lg
I ended up going with the FO32U2P over the ASUS, MSI, LG releases. I would have loved to go with the Samsung 32 inch QD-OLED but it still hasn't come out. I have an all white set up and the Samsung would have looked wonderful with the setup. Alienware didn't even make it to the list horrible looking monitor, and curved. I would have probably gone with LG if it didn't have that horrible matte coating.
Why would anyone get this over the $950 MSI 321URX? What am I missing?
There are some subtle differences, (gigabyte gets a little brighter), but the major is finding a MSI 321URX in stock
@@mestralarmstrong7811 Very true. Impossible to find.
MSI Is a 3rd world brand, has a ugly design, has a semi glossy coating and has issues. Gigabyte has none of those PROBLEMS.
@@nicholash8021 sure, they are built in the same panel, not in the same quality and compenents, their firmware is shit and a lot of people in reddit are complaining about a lot of bugs. ;)
Oh ya, this one is for me
I actually looked more into display port so apparently 4k monitors with dsc aka dp 1.4 uses 2 headers but 4k monitors that doesn't uses dsc AKA Dp 2.1 uses 1 header
is this coating not the same as on every other 32 4k qd oleds? A
does the monitor have a fan?
yes
so which is better the alienware AW3225qf, rog pg32ucdm or this one?
That’s what I want you know.
@@HeavyComponent for real bro
I’ll be making comparison videos in the coming weeks and months.
The one that you can find in stock is the best one.
@@thedisplayguy NOW 😤
Gigabyte did a great job with this panel ! great video thanks for the review !
Do you have any thoughts on the new LG Ultragear 27GS95QE-B monitor?
I dint usually like to speak for people, but I'm 99% sure his thoughts are going to be "Satan himself made this monitor because it has a matte coating and nothing else about it matters"
what resolutions does the monitor drop at lower screen size feature? and does it lose adaptive-sync while doing that?
You can use 4k at 32,27, and 24 you don’t lose any resolutions
Does it really deep black? because i saw someone unboxed it when studio light shining into screen I saw it turn red-purple or something like that and the screen doest't turn on yet.
It’s a common thing with qd oled. It’s rarely noticeable in normal circumstances but if you’re next to a big window it might be. But I think the better colors and dp 2.1 are more than worth it. And if you play a darker game for example you want to dim the room anyway
I guess at the moment LG's C2/C3 or the coming C4 is still king for the 42-inch size department?
Does it have Graphene foliage behind display to help cool the panel?
As someone with the LG 32GS95UE this guys take on the matte coating is severely overblown. There is no perceptible grain and it’s not oily. Even right beside my AW3423DW when turned on they look almost the exact same.
matte coating is not universal, can vary a lot by manufacturer and model (just like semi-glossy, glossy), the matte on my older ips is just awful...can see the grains clearly
"There is no perceptible grain and it's not oily.."
Followed by, "when turned on they look *almost* the exact same."
You're coping and it's embarrassing.
@@ianjameslake I honestly am not even concerned about the price I just want the brightest
Go check reviews of s90c and those new oled monitors, you will be surprise by the brightness of those monitors gen 3, graphics are not real life !
@@lalicdalibor1367 I had the PG32UCDM.
So there’s 2 variants? One with DP2.1 ?
The FO32U2P has DP 2.1 UHBR20, so can be run without DSC 🙂

Literally just got mine yesterday and updated today. Dead already and just constantly cycles colors.
So this or the 27 in. 1440p if I have a 3080ti and PS5?
How does hdr true black 400 compare to hdr 10+?
The front looks exactly like the MSI...
GSync ?
Did you say hdr400?
Bit late to this video but does anyone know of this model of monitor will be getting dolby vision support? Thanks
anything around 1000 nits is perfect imo u wont be getting anywhere near this . 4fitty at best
Waiting for Woled monitors with glossy finish
Won't happen
And qd pled is superior even against glossy woled
@@ARedditor397I’d probably take a glossy WOLED over a QD-OLED purely for the not raised blacks.
@@noidsuper that's fair
@@ARedditor397 Unfortunately qd oled coating is extremely easy to scratch and damage when cleaning.
That a big no just like fan in a monitor in lg and alienware cases.
Just got their qd super ultra wide OLED:D
Those monitors are only for early adopters not able to wait. The next generation of monitors coming next year with uhbr 20 and higher brightness will be worth it not to mention nvidias 50 series delivering enough fps
I’m telling y’all right now I had 4 oleds, Samsung , LG ultra gear 2023 models and the 2024 model, and asus… they all show wonderful af but at the same time if u have a good ips panel keep it u don’t have to upgrade I promise u… trying my best not to type a paragraph and I still did smh 😂😂😂
Then why did you keep getting them?
Unless the monitors have an overengineered cooling solution the monitors just wont go as bright unless people were okay with burned in monitors far sooner at which point I doubt you'll be seeing any burn in warranties being offered. PHOLED will be what can bring TV levels of HDR brightness in monitors, but TVs will still have a lead by their nature of being larger and having an easier time to dissipate the heat regardless of technology being used.
Linux users need DisplayPort, as the HDMI Forum refused proposals to accept AMD's open source implementation for HDMI 2.1, and as a result we're such on HDMI 2.0 which is far slower.
we're stuck on HDMI 2.0*
