    "Gigabyte disables ABL in SDR..." That alone would take this to the top of the list for me. No mode to switch to, no hidden menus to circumvent, no 3rd party app to jailbreak, it just works in SDR? Brilliant, I'll take 3!

      And you can use APL Stabilize in SDR too. Gamma gets inaccurate at APL Medium or High, but the colors pop out so much better then. APL Middle is a nice middleground for me. Looks impressive.

    Picked up one of these because the MSI wasn't available. I haven't been disappointed. I was worried because my laptop requires a 65W charger, but it seems the 18W PD seems to charge the laptop well enough. Sure, it's slow... but if I am working it's plugged in so I never have an issue. Being able to use the KVM is a game changer!!!

    • @xPhantomxify
      @xPhantomxify 5 месяцев назад +1

      Why do u want to charge your laptop on a monitor? Can you explain this? Don't you have to use a HDMI 2.1 cable or DP 1.4?

    • @Cash0991
      @Cash0991 5 месяцев назад +5

      @@xPhantomxify It's not that I want the monitor to charge the laptop, it's the benefit of using ONE cable to do **everything**! One small USB-C cable charges, passes video, audio, keyboard, and mouse. And with the press of a single button, I switch over to my gaming PC and everything else just follows.
      Without these features, I'd need to run a DP or HDMI (that'd likely carry audio), a separate power cable, then I would either need a different solution for KVM or use a 2nd mouse and keyboard (probably internal laptop KBM).
      You can see how the single cable is much more elegant.

    Could you maybe cover the Acer Nitro XV5 XV275KP because it became dirt cheap this week. With the price tag of 300€ (at least here in EU) it's a lot cheaper than other 4k 144hz monitors.

I work extensively with video content; the Alienware has more accurate factory calibration, but the Aorus offers better connectivity with HDMI 2.1 and USB-C with DisplayPort. Got this monitor after sending back an Asus Pg27aqdm. The colours in HDR were completely broken, overblown reds to the point everything looked cartoonish. On top of that the matte finish was gross and literally took the shine off the oled image, just looked like the screen had oil residue smeared across it.
    Am much happier with Gigabyte, HDR colour is much better, oranges don't turn purple and the addition of a KVM is a big convenience.

    Eventually just like IPS prices, once Oled monitors start the MSRP at 450-550$ is when I'm gonna start being interested in switching. On top of refinement of the technology to cause less burn in, wouldn't care if it takes another 10 years to get to that price.

      HDR 400 is not quite HDR, tbh. You need at least 600 nits of brightness for the display to be HDR capable, and even then IPS monitors are never gonna be truly HDR capable unless they're miniLED.

    Not being able to turn off DSC is a deal breaker for me as an NVIDIA user. The MSI doesn't have this problem and at this price point it should be mandatory. There are rumblings that this could be fixed via a firmware update but nothing from Gigabyte officially yet which means it could never come.

      @yungsavage5005 It's only a problem. If you use DLDSR, which I use all the time for single player games. If you never use that then the only other issue you would have is a few seconds long blackscreen when tabbing out of games.

    here in malaysia, the Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q3 cost around 3.2k MYR ( 73X usd + ). Almost same price another option i can buy is MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 (240HZ variant instead of 360hz). Thers also AOC AGON AG276QZD which cost around 700 usd. The ASUS GLOSSY WOLED meanwhile is cost almost 1K dollar. I mostly play with lights on so maybe glossy does not fit my usage.

    Interesting but I'm really curious about the original panel that there is in all QD-OLED 360Hz so far. It would be really awesome if you could test and review the Samsung Odyssey G6 LS27DG600SUXEN on that famous panel 360Hz QD-OLED but this time in matte not gloss finish.
    Sadly only in the silver color version for now, but how often really ppl look on the back of the monitor.
    I'm gonna hold my decision to get any of that QD-OLED until we see what you think on that odyssey G6. Especially taking on crazy prices in many parts of Europe where eg you say it should cost 800 dollars and for our market they cost 1000 dollars and that is so sad, cause it is not only monitors with bigger prices in Europe but GPU CPU basically all tech is more expensive.
    Greetings

No icons and hide the taskbar, thankfully have a elgato stream deck that has the shortcuts that I want on them so chance of burn in would be very very low.
