Why does the 0-26 transition have the highest CD (over double the 0-51 transition) while having one of the faster response times at 0.31 ms vs 0.4 for 0-51, both of them having 0 overshoot? Does it take much longer to cover the full transition or is there some other reason?
me watching this video on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, in my apartment with barely any lights: no problem, would work fine on my LG UltraGear 27" 1440P 240Hz OLED monitor too, even my Philips 65" 4K 120Hz OLED Gaming TV would make the video light up very well in my dark apartment
Just use the Windows setting that turns off your monitors if you aren't using your PC. ASUS had a good idea, but this feature already exists in another form. I suppose the monitor could be cheaper without that sensor. Settings -> System -> Power&Sleep -> Screen: When plugged in, turn off after (minutes/hours).
@@lukas0999 It can be useful in niche cases still. Example: Walking away while streaming Twitch, forgetting to come back or otherwise becoming busy, and a streamer leaves their own "BRB" static screen up.
@@lukas0999 One thing that really sucks with the Windows feature is that it also affects some games. Playing metaphor refantazio, during cutscenes i have to move the mouse every 5 or so minutes or the monitor turns off, also had it on 1 min before but that was downright annoying.

im happy for you guys. but i personally dont get why anyone would want 4k 27". the biggest advantage for me was 32" size, the resolution of 4k is not even as impactful as the sheer immersion i get from 32"
thats the thing, my desk is tiny. i know its all subjective so i wont argue 'my way is the best', but like i said - for me personally, the biggest upgrade was the size. being able to fill up your peripheral vision immerses you so much. and yeah i play competitive FPS games mostly, so its not like its just for single player games. maybe if youre winning money in tournaments you could argue the smaller is better competitively, but if youre not even playing for money then 32" is so much better its a no brainer.
A lot of reviews out on this monitor and Tim, your reviews are by far the clearest, most well-structured and informative out there. Thanks for the effort you put in B
This is fantastic. I do have a 32 inch qd oled at the moment, but having come from a 28 inch 4k display, I can confirm 27/28 inch is the sweet spot for comfort and image quality. I'll be tempted to go back when higher refresh rate models arrive.
I'm getting older and don't like to sit at a desk anymore. I just bought a LG C4 65 inch TV for gaming, it's incredible. If I still sat at a desk I would definitely buy this monitor.
Good news, because I think a lot of people use their monitors both for gaming and work, and so far options weren't great for switching OLED, especially at smaller sizes and for working with text
Very nice monitor! Hoping to see some more good non-OLED HDR options hitting the market soon for us people that mostly do productivity tasks with gaming and media consumption on the side.

Mini LED is looking great, the Odyssey G8 looks like a fab bit of kit and I can personally confirm the AOC Q27G3XMN performs really well on a budget. MicroLED is the tech I'm most interested in at the moment, as its only drawback at the moment seems to just be that... it's difficult to make. Which will likely be overcome as production expands
@@Z0MBUSTER Asus doesn't even make tech themselves, they resell products just like all these brands do. I think you mean Samsung as they make the display. I always hear people say that you should get 1440p for 27 inch and 4K for 32 inch. As a PPI addict, I respectfully disagree. 4K 27 inch is gold! Now to wait until 5K becomes mainstream.
When people say get 1440p for 27 inch and 4k for 32 inch they’re talking about minimums, as much as I like having a high ppi, 1440p is good enough at 27 inches for the majority of people
People just like to say things without knowing what they are talking about. The story with sharpness is similar to motion, in that you need a PPI in the thousands to reach the max possible image quality. There is old Japanese research showing that at those PPIs things start to look more like a real object rather than a screen. The only thing that can be said is the PPI is a useless statistic, and we should start looking at sharpness as pixels per degree (PPD) instead, which is something we already do with VR displays where this is most important. And before people start, the lenses in your eyes are absolute trash, most detail you see is filled in with the mind. When you are near-sighted, your vision has just shifted so much that your mind is unable to fill in the details. We don't see pixels, we see light reflected off of other particles and our brain interprets that as vision. As such, there is no such thing as "retina sharpness", and we haven't even began to comprehend what a real end game display looks like. Same goes with brightness. God, I would kill for a 32" 6k, or even better 42" 8k, high refresh OLED. I guess we will see those with the next revision of Displayport.
Im sure you think it looks a lot different but its either in your head or the 4K one is just a better monitor than the 1440p 27 inch you compared it too. The optimal res for 27 inch is definitely 1440p and 4K optimal res is 32 inches and up. But if you think you actually can see the difference from where youre sitting and the screen size go off king
@@Angel7blackI sit 1m away from my 4k 28" odyssey and the difference between 4k and 1440p is night and day. I dont know what youre smoking but i want some.
I cannot wait! Going to be a big PC upgrade year for me with AMD's X3D improvements, next gen graphics cards, and FINALLY a 27" 4K OLED. I tried ASUS's 27" 1440P WOLED in 2023 but returned it because I couldn't get over how bad the desktop experience was outside of gaming/videos. It sounds like the text sharpness and color accuracy issues are finally to the point where I'm excited to give OLED another shot. I love the proximity sensor on this particular model too, and UHBR20 gives me some future-proofing confidence even though it's not useful quite yet.
ASUS did a good job with this monitor if the calibration is actually consistent across all the units. I hope we see improvements with HDR in the future especially for the 1000 mode as everything else is already incredibly good on these oled displays.
Still the same brightness flaws, he even showed it in the video. Can't really be fixed as Samsung is the one limiting brightness intentionally. It's likely specifically done for incremental improvements over time. It's the same thing as the car industry, if we make the perfect product now, how can we get people to buy next years model instead of older last year models? The answer is obvious, actively gimp the current model to make slow improvements over time. There's only two brands making OLED displays so they can both get away with it.
My 32 UCDM has the same proximity sensor, but without the same distance calibration. It is super useful. Hopefully they can update to include this distance feature unless this panel uses a newer sensor. Sometimes if my chair is sitting too close the monitor wont turn off, and conversely if I get too comfy and lean back too far it will turn off while I am playing/watching.
Windows has a feature that turns your monitors off when you arent using you PC. I think that can help in the situation when you get too comfy while you are wathcing a video. Settings -> System -> Power&Sleep -> Screen: When plugged in, turn off after (minutes/hours).
Yeah you can actually put it on a normal size desk without having to turn your head way off to see the edges of the screen. I don't care about the immersion I care about seeing more detail at distance and having a sharper image with less aliasing.
I find it funny people have tiny desks but high spec PC and peripherals. Now I prefer smaller due to playing fps but I have a normal depth desk (9dm) so can push 32" further easily
@@StaySic4Everwhat is the correlation? Whats so funny about that? There’s nothing abnormal of having a tiny desk and high spec monitor. As long as the desk can support it.

Kind of. DLSS works better at 4k than it does at 1440p, but all the shimmering and TAA blurring looks worse with higher resolution. So depending on the quality of the AA implementation in the game DLSS/FSR can look better or worse at 4k.

I agree with that stance. After waiting a few years and watching for discounts/sales I ended up getting an Aorus FO48U for $700, 120hz is enough for me.
I don't know why ASUS refuses to make their flagship monitors look like they're made for adults. How many kids that might like the gamery look do they think are going to be buying a monitor this expensive? I liked the plain look of the 1440p XG27AQDMG from last year much better than this.
100% I pay extra to make sure my PC builds do not include any RGB or gamery crap, Mouse and keyboard are set to the minimum to not be strobe lights at a nightclub but the monitors still look like cheap gamery crap and at the price, it shouldn't.

With Display Port 2.1 UHBR 20 we can get 5K (5120x2880) at 180hz, 4K ultrawide (5120x2160) at 240hz and 1440p (2560x1440) at INSANE 720hz all at 10 bit HDR. Imagine. Imagine 5K 37-42inch (ppi same as 27 or 32 inch 4K) Tripple mode OLED that could switch between 5K at 180hz, 4K ultrawide at 240hz and 1440p at 720hz. The monitor endgame is getting closer.
Anyone that says PPI doesn't matter are either blind or desperate to justify a bad purchase. I have a first-gen 27" 1440p OLED from a couple years ago- content is stunning and it's serviceable for daily use, but text fringing is evident at any reasonable viewing distance and it's made 10x worse if you're using it side-by-side with an LCD. From what you say RE: fringing, this will be my next monitor purchase finally.
But a 32" and a 27" monitor of the same resolution look identical if you just push the 32" monitor back a bit , so that it fills the same field of view. Unless you had bad eyes and your sight is worse a few inches back, I suppose, lol.
@@theSato at the same distance the 27" will look sharper. I have a 24" 1440p and it does look abit better than my old 27" one at the same distance. And tbh 27" for most people on PC is the sweet spot for size, not everyone wants a 32" display or has a deep enough desk for one.
@@nameless.0190 You missed the point he was making. PPI doesn't matter, it's how many degrees of view the display takes up. A 32" display pushed a couple inches back is identical to a 27" a couple inches forwards. At the same viewing distance the 27" is sharper, but it's also smaller taking up less of your vision. The end result is there's really no difference since you can move the displays just enough or push your seat back to get the same experience. It's not like with TVs where you're not going to push your couch closer to the TV a few feet or if you want a bigger display to be sharper you only have so much space to push your couch back.
If you had an fpga driving this thing it could easily deliver 960 HZ, and the panel can absolutely support it. Its worst response time was 0.48 ms. If this had rolling scan BFI implementation you would be nearly at CRT motion handling. Engineered obsolescence is the only reason we do not have this at this moment. If this was a Tandem OLED capable panel it could do 1000 nits full screen. If anybody wants to be able to use this with HDR at its maximum refresh rate, get the program lossless scaling off of steam for 7 Bucks. Absolutely worth it. It has 4X frame interpolation to take 60 up to 240 FPS.
How do you expect to carry 4k 960Hz amount of data from your gpu? Youd need to use all 4 display cables maybe 1 for each quadrant of the monitor or something?
@@ThunderingRoarif a monitor displayed at 960hz that doesn't mean it needs a frame rate of 3000fps or whatever, it would just display whatever it received from the graphics card more smoothly. I doubt many humans could tell the difference above 400,I'm not sure I notice any difference above 120
With this high resolution at reliatively small size it would be nice to check how is scaling from lower resolutions looks like. For example I would like to have perfectly sharp text but also play games at 1440p. Does it make sense? How does it look?
Most people just use DLSS/FSR now instead of just straight up lowering the render resolution...I don't have an OLED, but I have a 27" 4k Mini-LED 160hz monitor and I can notice a huge difference if I just lower the in game resolution to 1440p or 1080p...It looks terrible compared to native 4k or using DLSS/FSR...Even using DLSS performance mode which renders at 1080p looks much better than than just lowering in-game resolution...
Just get a 1440p panel if you want to run at 1440p... Some games like shooters nowadays benefit from high resolution a lot because you can see at a distance far better without using zoom (optics), going back to 1440p rendering in this case is straight up bad.

Hopefully a 1440p/5K dual mode 27” display is coming. I don’t wanto to compromise on refresh rate and native res while playing competitive titles, but I crave that 5k crispness on less demanding/non competitive titles.
Agreed, I'm currently using the Alienware AW3423DWF and I love the ultrawide format, but I wouldn't want a monitor that's even larger than that. If there was a new OLED monitor with the same size and form factor with 5160 x 2160 I would be *very* interested in upgrading.
I have gone through 5 different models of OLED monitors and every single one had terrible VRR flicker...I love the way OLEDs look, but I guess i'm super sensitive to VRR flicker because drove me insane! I ended up buying a 27" 4k Mini-LED 160hz monitor and I couldn't be happier! It has 1152 dimming zones, so the blooming is barely noticeable with that many zones at 27"...It only has 2 downsides, it has reverse blooming on solid grey backgrounds, and it has a weird bloom effect if you view it at a wide angle...Neither of those bother me though, the reverse blooming only really happens when doing desktop stuff with local dimming on and I sit directly infront of my monitor...I may wait for the true next generation of OLEDs and give them another try though...The very first OLED I tried was a 1440p 360hz and that motion clarity is just amazing when playing any 1st person game!
One other thing you might not have noticed is that miniLED displays tend to also crush small points of light in motion. Look at stars in any game and move the camera, even at slower motion you'll noticed the stars disappear. Stars in general tend to look poor on miniLED due to the bleed. I say stars and points of light are really where miniLED suffers.
@@Skylancer727 And realistically how many times have you encountered stars in a game, and have looked at them for more than 2 seconds? This is extremely rare case.
@agiverreviga4592 if you played a game like Terraria, nearly the entire night time. Or Mass Effect's map can look pretty atrocious. Similar with Outer Wilds or Starfield space exploration.
Same thing happened with me. Got a LG B4 48” OLED and was too big and the brightness dimming drove me crazy so I returned it. Got the Samsung 42” OLED S90D same issue and returned it. Got a 39” LG OLED and the brightness was not enough the whites looked more blue than white and 1440p was too low of a resolution so I returned it. Got a Samsung G8 Mini LED 4K 240hz and I’m very happy with it. I guess I prefer Mini LED vs current OLED monitors other than the OLED on my iPhone and S10 Ultra tablet where the whites are white and not a blue white.
@Some0ne001 white being blue just means you had the color temp off. All displays have an option for warm, normal, or cold and some have an extra warm and cold. I've noticed normal on most displays tend to be on the colder side. Android and IOS also support changing the color temp. On iPhone by default the color temp changes based on the lighting of your room.

GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! I really appreciate the detail you go into, and you've responded when I've asked questions a few times on here. I've been waiting for years for them to finally make this monitor! I'm curious if you had a guess as to when we can buy this, and just your guess as to when we'll get at least 1-2 more to look at? It seems like most people are saying Q1 2025, or just 2025, but I know you're closer to this than most. It's going to be hard for me to wait, but of course I want to make sure I get the best one. It seems like when you compared the 32 inch versions, the MSI/ROG seemed to be near the top, so I'm curious if that will happen again. Just curious what you would do if you were in my shoes, I've already saved up and have the money for it, so that part isn't an issue. Thank you!!
Hi HUB, love your reviews. I am a bit confused about one thing though; you often say OLEDs are at risk of burn-in with productivity work due to static content, but aren’t at risk with gaming. But this seems to gloss over the fact that most games also have static elements in the form of the user interface. Especially RPGs such as Path of Exile, Diablo, World of Warcraft, etc. Wouldn’t this be equally at risk for burn-in as static productivity work?
Yes, hundreds of hours playing the same game with non-transparent HUD / UI elements poses a risk of burn-in. However, many people don’t realize that any usage constantly degrades your entire screen, static content just makes this degradation uneven and therefore more noticable. Just google examples of OLED TVs used for 4:3 content - the used (degraded) center of the screen has less saturated colors and lower brigthness compared to the unused (not degraded) sides that “displayed” black bars.
Yeah but they definitely need to up the zones. There is a 32 inch 4k Red Magic monitor that has 5088 zones so that is definitely the minimum that I want since that is the closest to OLED a Mini LED has been so far
@@emiel255more zones doesn't mean better performance. Sony proves that with each generation in the TV market. You need a great algorithm for the miniLED.
one of the key features is the aspect control for running games at 1080/1440 with smaller display sizes. would love to see these features explained in depth from you for monitors over 24" as they can have some pros/cons and need to be tested. thanks!
You should also consider making a video comparing the monitor firmware of each brand, like a checklist for firmware. Since for example some brands lock monitor settings in srgb mode, while others leave all options available. Like Acer monitors for example dont switch to HDR automatically when there is a HDR signal and you have to switch to HDR manually each time. Things like that can be a dealbreaker and it would be nice to know what brand has the best firmware. Because these OLEDS don't really differ too much from each other in terms of specs and performance, but there can be tremendous differences in firmware.
Thank you for the review! It would have been great to see the color accuracy performance for the second sRGB emulation configuration (Color Space set to sRGB). Especially since it what most users would be inclined to use since it doesn't lock down other picture settings.

I guess its just physics and it is not really going to get better with oled. so yeah getting oled monitor for real HDR experience is a complete disappointment and I hope in the new year reviewers try to educate consumers instead of blindly glaze OLED monitors. It is really a basic HDR experience even though it cost $1000+ which is really not worth it. I paid $700 for mine and I think that is still too much. it has been three years now, the oled monitor hype and novelty is over. They need to actually deliver.
I don't know. For me 48" it's a minimum for 4K monitor. 27" will give you a very sharp image, but i don't like the performance hit because of this high of resolution.
I kind of have to agree with you. I want an OLED monitor that I can use the same way as an LED monitor without all those preventative measures I have to do in order to not risk getting permanent static images on my display
I’ve been using the Cooler Master GP27U 27” HDR FALD IPS monitor since its launch and for me I trust a FALD HDR IPS monitor since it has no risk of burn in as a result of using games / desktop stuff with permanent icons, crosshairs etc which will burn in in time and over longer gaming / productivity sessions. I do have an Oled which is only used for content creation and the occasional 1-2 gaming session. My main gaming pc gets the longer sessions and I’m happy with that.
I've still been using the PG27UQ since about a year after it launched as one of the first FALD displays sold. Personally I'll gladly upgrade to this display. FALD may be brighter, but QD-OLED means I'll no longer have a vinyet from the viewing angles not being perfect and OLED handles stars way better. Hell just looking at this screen on youtube I can easily see the light bleed around this text. I think burn in is a mostly solved issue at this point seeing the progression over time. My Note 8 and 9 both burned in fast, but the Note 9 did take twice as long. My S23 Ultra in comparison after over a year of almost exclusively static content has almost zero burn in. With this even going to sleep 1 minute after walking away, it should easily last 3-5 years.
4k bigger screen size is better. Especially for UI and text size in games. And not all games you can adjust the size of the UI and text.32 inch is better but that don't mean 27 is bad.
You’re right. A 32” 4K is still like 138/140 PPI. That’s insanely sharp. A 1440p 27” is like 109 PPI IIRC, and that already looks pretty sharp. 27” 4K is just so pointless - even as hardware unboxed said you’re just trading slightly sharper text for a far less immersive gaming experience on a smaller panel. I never understand why gamers love small panels so much. They’re pretty useless you play alot of competitive games
A couple of the shots in this video are very dark, that was an encoding error we couldn't solve in time for publishing. Sorry!
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
When perfect text on 1440p oled monitors? WE ARE WAITING!
Why does the 0-26 transition have the highest CD (over double the 0-51 transition) while having one of the faster response times at 0.31 ms vs 0.4 for 0-51, both of them having 0 overshoot? Does it take much longer to cover the full transition or is there some other reason?
me watching this video on my Galaxy S24 Ultra, in my apartment with barely any lights: no problem, would work fine on my LG UltraGear 27" 1440P 240Hz OLED monitor too, even my Philips 65" 4K 120Hz OLED Gaming TV would make the video light up very well in my dark apartment
why did they artificially limited it to 240hz instead of full 480hz?
That auto-switch feature is something that every monitor should support! If not for OLED burn-in prevention, but for energy saving too.
@@FrederikSeerupNielsenSo use something realistic. 15 minutes minmum. Probably half hour is okay. You don't want to keep turning it off and on, it most likely reduces longevity.

thats the thing, my desk is tiny. i know its all subjective so i wont argue 'my way is the best', but like i said - for me personally, the biggest upgrade was the size. being able to fill up your peripheral vision immerses you so much. and yeah i play competitive FPS games mostly, so its not like its just for single player games. maybe if youre winning money in tournaments you could argue the smaller is better competitively, but if youre not even playing for money then 32" is so much better its a no brainer.

You’re in for a treat let me tell you.
Should've just gone glossy qd OLED. It's the terrible coating that's the issue on WOLED. I've owned both and WOLED monitors are terrible.
ASUS did a good job with this monitor if the calibration is actually consistent across all the units. I hope we see improvements with HDR in the future especially for the 1000 mode as everything else is already incredibly good on these oled displays.
Asus cannot do any better, it's Samsung that intentionally restricts brightness because they're scared of burn-in. This is unacceptable.
My PG32UCDM’s color calibration report is the best I’ve ever seen.
the hdr in this one is probably the best
Still the same brightness flaws, he even showed it in the video. Can't really be fixed as Samsung is the one limiting brightness intentionally. It's likely specifically done for incremental improvements over time.
It's the same thing as the car industry, if we make the perfect product now, how can we get people to buy next years model instead of older last year models? The answer is obvious, actively gimp the current model to make slow improvements over time. There's only two brands making OLED displays so they can both get away with it.
Questionable coating, no dual-mode, lack of BFI yeah idk
One of the best reviews I seen 👏
27inch is a much more reasonable size than 32. Definitely will be looking out for more of these.
Yeah you can actually put it on a normal size desk without having to turn your head way off to see the edges of the screen. I don't care about the immersion I care about seeing more detail at distance and having a sharper image with less aliasing.

PPI is only good for text
For that I have a 16inch 3k oled Which has an even higher ppi than this
But a 32" and a 27" monitor of the same resolution look identical if you just push the 32" monitor back a bit , so that it fills the same field of view.
Unless you had bad eyes and your sight is worse a few inches back, I suppose, lol.
@@theSato at the same distance the 27" will look sharper. I have a 24" 1440p and it does look abit better than my old 27" one at the same distance.

@@theSatothat's not how that works. Gawd, there's some serious Reddit tards online lately.
Ty for making me an incredibly informed consumer. I'll be looking for a new monitor later this year

Engineered obsolescence is the only reason we do not have this at this moment. If this was a Tandem OLED capable panel it could do 1000 nits full screen.

Use DLSS/FSR/XESS/TSR or games render scale option instead of lowering your resolution to 1440p.
Just get a 1440p panel if you want to run at 1440p... Some games like shooters nowadays benefit from high resolution a lot because you can see at a distance far better without using zoom (optics), going back to 1440p rendering in this case is straight up bad.

No text fringing at all and 240hz screen.....I came from big TVs and was kind of let down I had to go so small from what I was used to but I couldn't have made a better decision ever. $1200 was steep though but well worth it. I have a 4090 so it was only the right thing to do going 4k.
Finally a monitor that doesn't look blurry and has fast refresh rates.

Stupid comment. I have a oled and my old lg27gl850-b right next to it almost no difference in the video between the two.

I hope one day all monitors will come with an implementation for controlling the onscreen monitor adjustment window via keyboard, instead of having to reach for buttons on the back of the monitor, putting us in an uncomfortable position. Maybe by the end of the 21st century... who knows.
Do I need to sell one of my kidneys to afford one of these monitors? Let's see.
Both probably
Gonna say $1200 minimum before sales
this in WOLED and better brightness and I am sold
now we need just a bit more brightness + proper 10-20W built in speakers, this would be the complete package for me👍👍
I'll probably pick this monitor up but I'm hoping the next generation of desktop oled monitors will get to at least 400 nits sdr brightness.
If you want speakers just get a cheap speaker for your monitor. I still have a $20 bluetooth soundbar wired to my monitor and it sounds vastly better than anything that would ever come with a monitor.
In terms of size, resolution and refreshrate, this monitor is a dream. One thing I don't like, which probably will never be fixed, is the Burn-In
Looking for g sync pulsar at ces in one week …. Hope you will get these panels in the near future to test them …
theyve already announced it a year ago, even if they show it in ces it doesnt mean its gonna be for sale any time soon. and since its not compatible with oled it will be like one of those 1000usd benq monitors, perfect for a pro gamer, but oled being better for everyone else.

@@MrChrisGERMy friend what oled 240hz you are talking about? Oled 240hz is ver smooth in games ...
@ hi, ever played a crt or with backlight strobing ?
@@freak0ut what he's saying is true. Also no one is arguing about smoothness. Smoothness and motion persistence (motion clarity) are two different things. And if the guy is comparing to CRT, which I've played unreal and quake on and can back him up, then there's no comparison. My 120hz C1 with 38% duty cycle bfi is clearer than 240hz (and as math works out 38% duty cycle is indeed over 300hz equivalent mprt). So yeah he's right.
I still enjoy my time with 4k240 32", but I'd lie if I said I didn't want better MotionClarity. I'm gonna upgrade to a 4k480 32inch qdoled glossy the moment those are out. Although that may be a while.

Can you please review the AOC Agon PRO AG276QZD2! This revision is a glossy QD-OLED compared to the original model of this monitor you reviewed. A lot of us got it for only 400 BUCKS during the black Friday sale which is insane for a 240hz QD-OLED panel. I have been loving it so far but a lot of us who got it have been dying for an in-depth review since there's not a lot of info out yet on it! Thank you!
Did I miss this part in the video or you didn't say anything about cable? Is it 1m?
Yes.
Thanks for the review! It’s technically 139 PPI vs 166 PPI. Oh, and the 31.5” display has 41% more screen area. 😋
Yes these 27 inch oled monitors are 1cm smaller than lcd 27 inch monitors at 26.5 inch vs the normal 26.9
After going through the Windows HDR calibration app, I've been extremely impressed with DV in the Netflix app.
Netflix streaming is a joke compared to 4k blurays. even apple tv looks MUCH better than Netflix
@@maegnificant what’s even more of a joke is just how much of Netflix’s library _isn’t_ in 4K. They charge you extra for their 4K plans, and then when it comes time for them to license stuff **that exists in 4K** they cheap out and only offer “1080p”.
They also seem to have given up on providing _any_ 4k or download support on Windows, I suppose the correct way to watch movies on a flight is on my teeny tiny cellphone instead of my fancy laptop with a 4K HDR display I specifically chose for better media consumption.
@@levygaming3133 4k is possible with the edge browser and some tinkering
I was just thinking to myself that OLED displays could have some sort of eye/face/proximity sensor to prevent burn it and here we are. Hope we see this feature in all new OLED displays.
Not if it's off by default. If you need to go into the settings to activate this feature, you could just activate a similar setting in Windows where, when you don't use your PC, the monitors will get turned off. Settings -> System -> Power&Sleep -> Screen: When plugged in, turn off after (minutes/hours).
Abother entry level HDR experience.
It's also worth noting that OLED isn't flicker free so yes, it's flickering all the time. VRR flicker is a whole other issue.
It is here 😇 hopefully it doesn't cost too much when its released here
Waiting for 4K 27inch IPS mini LED
They exist but seem to have a lot of problems (acer nitro is one of them)
I have one... but only 576 zones. there are models with more zones.
@@aeriumsoft What is wrong with it?
Yeah but they definitely need to up the zones. There is a 32 inch 4k Red Magic monitor that has 5088 zones so that is definitely the minimum that I want since that is the closest to OLED a Mini LED has been so far
@@emiel255more zones doesn't mean better performance. Sony proves that with each generation in the TV market. You need a great algorithm for the miniLED.
one of the key features is the aspect control for running games at 1080/1440 with smaller display sizes. would love to see these features explained in depth from you for monitors over 24" as they can have some pros/cons and need to be tested. thanks!
DAMN IT, i said to myself if a 27" comes out ill buy it.
now i have no excuse anymore ^^
Money is a good excuse.

I'm sure they'll make it as that's really what the MLGs want. 27" is still too big for MLG and 4K isn't usually favored.
The Samsung G6 QD-OLED released months ago. It's not 24", but it's still tremendous. Plus, 360hz.
well, 24" 4K OLED shouldn't be a problem, as my laptop got a 16" 4K OLED monitor, but high refresh rate? well, let's not talk about the low refresh rate of just 60Hz. I'm using the laptop for programming and watching videos, when I'm not home, and it's running Linux, not Windows 11, which was pre-installed
I played the waiting game for a new monitor for too long, that’s it in pulling the trigger on this one as soon as it’s available god willing 😮💨
I would trade my 32" 4K OLED for this. The sub pixel layout isn't ideal but good enough.
Never buy a 1440p OLED with this sub pixel layout. Worst purchase ever. I literally had to run DSR at 5120x2160 to make it look decent.
Hi and thanks for your awesome quality videos!
They helped me get over my OLED burn in fear and I decided to spend a lot of money on the monitor (+50%custom tax - that hurt!).
I "bought" a PG32UCDM from Amazon on Black Friday, but due to high demand and international shipping (was free!), it hasn't yet been shipped and it will arrive around the 21 of this month.
My take from your video is that I shouldn't worry about this new monitor to "outshine/outperform" the one I will get, is that right?
Noo it only has 450 nits at 10% in HDR... that's disappointing after 3 years of the same OLED monitor HDR specs
Burning, burning, burning… that is the reason!

@ Nobody uses 24" for competitive anymore bud, you're living 10 years in the past. All the pros use 27-32" top end oleds
I have the first gen qdoled uw ones and I really hate it after two years now. 27 4k is what I want but there is hardly any improvement yet in brightness. There is so much focus on dark scene performance in reviews and I get it because it sucked for so long but bright scenes are as important. my AW qdoled in Indy game in Giza level looks so dim that it cant be considered real HDR when its 200-300 nits at best. That is just sdr. It is supposed to be a bright sunny day but you just dont get that dazzling hdr that a TV can produce so really whats the point. might as well use a basic LCD screen that wont burn in and spend on a good OLED TV instead. 1000 nits at 2% patch on a screen of this size is just pathetic and it sharply drops at any bigger area, its just a marketing gimmick. meanwhile on a 65” TV that is what you get on a 10% patch.
I am hoping they will come out with a 27 inch version of the PG32UCDP with the duel display feature.
I don't know. For me 48" it's a minimum for 4K monitor. 27" will give you a very sharp image, but i don't like the performance hit because of this high of resolution.

A sexy new screen turn-off feature to help mitigate burn-in? No thanks. I'm skipping OLED until that sort of thing is no longer an issue.
It's not as big of an issue as you would think. Had an oled since march, no burn in so far.

Really keeping my fingers crossed for more dual mode 480hz 32 inch monitors
27" 4k pointless in such a small screen
absolutely not, watch the video
4k bigger screen size is better. Especially for UI and text size in games. And not all games you can adjust the size of the UI and text.32 inch is better but that don't mean 27 is bad.
@@DrWurzeli I've watched the video and stand by what I've said.
