I used Logic pretty much daily in the run up to and after its recent big update. It was actually quite refreshing to go back to the simplicity of GarageBand afterwards. I use both really, I’ll record ideas into GarageBand and then move any decent projects over to Logic to tinker with.
One thing that irks me about the mixer and FX section is that it uses sliders and there's no indication of the values that you set. Especially on iPhone, if you have big fingers like I do, it's hard to see how your setting those sliders. We really need an option to be able to set those sliders to a numerical value like we can on most DAW's. Getting sliders set right is an exercise in frustration for me. At least in most of the pluggins you can set those knobs and stuff pretty accurately. But I have so much trouble with the sliders.

Does merging work only on iPad? I keep tapping on the header on my MacBook an nothing happens
Yes, it only works in this way on iOS.
