Frankfurt Radio Symphony is the best classical music channel on RUclips. I want to say thank you a million times. Hope will see this top-notch orchestra in hall room very soon.
Superb, thank you so much for sharing. A shame they didn't have a bigger audience, but looks like it could have been one of the first concerts at the end of COVID. We're all giving you a standing ovation digitally.
Yet another precious gift of music from this wonderful, wonderful orchestra. When covid is finished your hall will be full of RUclips watchers, impatiently waiting to hear this great orchestra live for themselves!! This is a fabulous orchestra and a fabulous performance. Thank you.
What a wonderful gift from the hr-Sinfonieorchester! Top-class performance that comes with beautiful 4K video with excellent camera work and smooth highly defined Opus 251 audio extending up to 20kHz. I got goosebumps at the beginning of the second movement. Un Bal. Thank you Frankfurt Radio, Maestro Altinoglu, hr-Sinfonieorchester, the camera crew and of course the tonmeisters.
Welcome, Alain Altinoglu and so long, Andres Orozco-Estrada, who is also soon departing my hometown orchestra, Houston Symphony. Thank you for the music.
An amazing execution. Excellent sound with all modern sound recording media, and exemplary video recording, so that we can discern the right moment, and distinguish each instrument of the orchestra, as well as appreciate the movements of the conductor.
I don’t play an instrument and I can’t read music but i have loved classical music since I was 11. I adore this piece… I love the eerie creepy violin playing at the end - spiccato??? - the way the strings play that eerie dance before the brass comes in to conclude the work! Just wonderful 👏
If ever proof was needed that this is Germany's greatest orchestra, one needs go no further than this absolutely wonderful, wonderful performance. Never have I heard Berlioz' brilliant use of the orchestra better displayed than here, played by an orchestra of virtuoso musicians and led by a conductor who has obviously spent much time in studying the score - the orchestra is totally with him for every minute of the performance. While giving the credits, the technical engineering must not be overlooked. Brilliantly sharp images at 4k resolution support the thoughtful camera work and video direction (although I'm not sure why the 1st movement opens and closes with shots of the organ pipes when that instrument isn't used in the score). The high resolution audio captures every nuance of the playing - from the immaculate solo work in the woodwinds (the piccolo never dominates!), and from the quietist whisper, to the massive power of the full orchestra (complete with extended brass and percussion), this 4k audio will really push your sound system to its limits if you try it. In summary - this Berlioz work, which I love, is given new life in a performance that stands out from all of the competition. Thank you. [NB. I use the term "4k" loosely. While using 1080p. I mean both audio and video are delivered at more that 4k bps (in fact, nearly 5kbps). Many RUclips performances use closer to 1kbps, giving poorer image and sound.]
@@zack_120 Unfortunately the "look" of the display organ pipes are no indication of the size or quality of the instrument. While the number of pipes will usually be in the thousands,, the pipes on display may be dummies - there for appearance as most organ pipes arn't pretty. At the same time, metal* pipes are expensive so what you see here are probably real. I've heard little of this instrument, but what I heard sounded fine. and, at a guess, I would expect 2,000 to 3,000 pipes. But the size is absolutely no indication of quality. [*Organ pipes can be made from all sorts of things. Wooden pipes are common, not to ease the budget, but because of the sound they prooduce.]
lovely camera work, aside from the usual amazing standard of music from this brilliant orchestra. The smiles in the audience say a lot, as each section competes to sound more fabulous than the others.
And by the way, a SONG is something you SING. Orchestral works aren't Songs. Unfortunately, you are a victim (among many) of language distorted by Spotify and other services.
Crazy Berlioz... how the hell did he come with this? And how about that great audience. I haven't heard so many Germans that excited since they declared war on Poland.

Great performance of a great symphony! The conductor looks similar to Berlioz himself.
Outstandingly great, was imbibed to. Great to hr symphony orchestra, great regards to everyone including the great conductor.

This is a fabulous orchestra and a fabulous performance. Thank you.
Mesmerizing. The cinematography makes the experience even the more rewarding. Absolutely fantastic.

The perfect music for these times.
I'm always in awe of this orchestra. Thank you!

Divine and beautiful performance by my favorite orchestra
THIS WAS SO GOOD, MY GOD. i'm so emotional rn.
Doesn’t it just embody every nuance of human emotion. Absolutely sublime!

Thanks for your comment. Now I better understand why this orchestra likes me so much!
The beautiful and mighty organ pipes are magnificent, the best I ever seen. So they can be used as a signature of the concert hall, it seems.

So beautiful Thank you
I agree with you Bryan. I only discovered this recording a few days ago and find it captivating. Thank you to Alain Altinoglu and the Orchestra.

Thank you, joining the audience to applaud you. Fantastic: the orchestra led by Alain Altinoglu and certainly Berlioz in the first place! Bravo!

Applause at the end said everything. It was magnificent. Thanks for this video in HD here on YT.
Taking the repeats! Wow! More Berlioz to enjoy.
An amazing work, wonderfully performed
The concerts of the hr-Sinfonieorchester are reference recordings, that's for sure.
Boy, this is good! Thank you.

Did Balasz Nemes retire? I see he's not on the roster anymore. Great concert, thank you for posting this.
Sehr shoen. Danke.
Video shooting for percussions session was rare but much more to woodwinds and brass instruments ⁉️

Taking repeats I didn’t even know existed.
Alexander von Putkammer 💪🏼
Can someone tell me what song plays in the intro of every video? Thank you!
That’s no song. That’s a sound design.
And by the way, a SONG is something you SING. Orchestral works aren't Songs. Unfortunately, you are a victim (among many) of language distorted by Spotify and other services.

Altinoglu is a Dudamel look alike
???? Not even close!
Looking for interpretation
We all know that everyone is looking for 37:00
At least all us bass trombone players are!
Best fricking part of this masterpiece!
Nah the first few mvmts are very nice
Conductor kind of looks like Berlioz. Intentional or not? Probably both.
Is it actually Berlioz?

I wonder why i never listen to Berlioz, St. Sens, Mahler...; ? maybe because i'm listening Mozart ?
To each his own love
Severe lack of sax
Not even invented when composed.
Hey and don't forget, not even a single electric guitar.
@@Acujeremy 🤨🤔.....😅😂🤣🤣
I quite liked this work. But I'm afraid when you compare his work with a Tchaikovsky's symphony, Berlioz was just a dilettant.
Apples and oranges. This is one of the most brilliant works ever composed.
