Mientras estoy "confitado" me estoy obligando a escuchar diariamente esta sinfonía de la que todo el mundo habla maravillas y que en mi caso, nunca le había prestado atención. Soy un entusiasta de la Orquesta de Galicia, ¡qué envidia de los melómanos gallegos! ¡qué suerte! A la chita callando han creado una Orquesta formidable y su rama joven fantástica. ¡Enhorabuena a esa comunidad autónoma!

Three words come to mind - fantastic, fantastic and fantastic. What a treat for us all! absolutely wonderful playing by this very fine orchestra... Brilliant conducting, brilliant playing by a 1st rate orchestra, and fabulous sound quality ..... bravo to everyone... what a delight this is.

Absolutely stunning! Superb playing and conducting in a live performance of exceptional quality. The 4th and 5th movements have never, imho, been equalled or surpassed on disc or in the music hall.

He even planned to murder his ex-fiancé and prepared a drag costume to dress up as a woman in order to enter her house. Then he attempted suicide by jumping off the cliff, which he survived and was rescued by a fishermen. All this fits the romantic ethos perfectly :D
Con Dima siempre hay que escuchar las obras hasta el mismísimo final. Vas empezando a escuchar con interés normal, pero vas lentamente entrando y todo se va calentando y calentando según avanza la obra hasta que siempre en los últimos movimientos alcanza un clímax fantástico que te deja casi sin respiración.
Incredible that the conductor doesn’t need to look at the score all of the time. Plus we have the prettiest drummer in the world ! This is so far the absolutely best and perfect Sinfonia Fantastique performed. I don’t understand why it is not a full house. A superb performance by everyone, especially the conductor.

Why does this still seem to be a lesser-known orchestra (at least in the U.S.)? From the performances I've seen/heard on here, they have an absolutely wonderful sound and brilliant precision. I'm glad they have been posting here.

The superior, voluminous squillo of the "blatty" tuba (my goodness, but even Jacobs himself would have approved!), the intensity of detail of the swirling runs through the strings after the repeat of the main theme through the brass (wow, who are these guys?). Not only in this movement, but the entire work shot through with febrile commitment from what is now my favorite overachieving regional orchestra (from NW Spain?...Damn!). The manic, magnificent Mahler 6th. The Tchaikovsky 4th played as if brand new and compelling in emotion and execution. The maestro makes the case every time (in orchestral works, at least) for himself and his band as the superior interpreters. A marvel.
