  • @afcgeo882
    @afcgeo882 4 года назад +21

    They’re just so comparable generally that you have to nit pick, which is where it gets weird.
    The Honda has a CVT and a turbo direct injection engine. Everything about that sends out alarm bells of reliability.
    On the flip side, the Toyota 2.5 dual injection, naturally aspirated engine and an in-house auto transmission seems reliable as a rock.
    However... Honda’s in-house CVT transmission has been the sole reliability stand-out from the rest and aside from the sporadic oil dilution complaints on the engine, it has also been strong. That’s in contrast to the Toyota, which has been having major issues with the transmission and engine, including a current mess with their 12v battery parasitic drain.
    That, coupled with Toyota’s higher pricing, loud engine and highway road noise penetrating into the cabin has forced my wife to pick the CR-V over the Rav4.
    On the hybrid front, however, she has chosen the Rav4 over the CR-V because it is much quieter on the highway, more powerful in the city and has a spare tire (the CR-V hybrid does not).

    I love my 2019 RAV4 XLE Premium, I haven’t had any problems, I gets up and go, it’s sporty and stylish and very great on Gas. Nothing is outdated with the reading of the radio and you can use your Android features, I actually perfect it that over Apple Play. It works just the same too me. They didn’t talk about any features that the RAV4 has, Toyota connect nor did they let you know how much better the reverse cameras are and blind side are compared, this wasn’t a good review, I have seen much, much better. and by the way I have a Honda also and love it as well. Now if only the CRV body design wasn't 5 yrs old now in 2022..... dislike getting in and out of a RAV4 driver seat especially for tall folks like myself and back leg and headroom and cargo space is no contest CRV wins all day. How many cargo lights in the RAV4 at night when loading stuff.... come on Toyota.... the Honda turbo engine on the CRV is silky smooth and quiet compared to the noisy and slower to accelerate from stop RAV4 but that new body design on the RAV4 is just better. True that the CRV has every “candy coating”over the RAV except for one important thing. These reviews are not getting down to the tech issues..In 2021 Honda put a junk engine in the CRV. The CRV’s turbo has been documented to blow the engine apart around 80,000 or sooner and that turbo must be replaced at 80,000 for over $3000..If you want a dependable car better to go with the RAV.. it’s engine and transmission is buy far better..We own both cars btw...and spent months talking to mechanics before we switched to Toyota in 2021. We still love our 2017 CRV and drive it daily to work but it has the old dependable 2.4 L engine👍. Such a shame they done away with it....🥲

      I’ve had various cars with fog lights...never used any of them...in So Cali

    Toyota and Honda’s are two great products but would not buy either because they are not attractive. Rav 4 is boxy and jagged. Sloppy design but the front is nice. The Honda has a terrible front end. Poorly designed. Also hated the dump rear verticals tail lights and the dumb Crome along the back. Keep is simple stupid. KISS…

      They did back in 2000-2004, past that I haven’t seen any wide spread transmission issues from Honda.
