I'd like a more thoughtful discussion of what seniors really need/value. The only reason we're replacing our 100% reliable Toyota sedan is safety--the higher (better visibility) seating position of an SUV. But there's also the difficulty of stepping up to enter/exit a higher SUV.

Kudos for design and thoughtfulness of this presentation. Clearly communicated and well done.

Both are great but RAV4 has slight edge in terms of reliability, resale, mpg etc..also CRV is bit pricey in US compared to RAV4.
You forgot to mention there is no spare tire in CRV even in higher trims whereas that is standard in RAV4.

    • @auto_exclusive
      @auto_exclusive  7 месяцев назад +1

I agree that actual spare tires are a definite plus. Not mentioned in the video because we try to maintain a brisk pace and just touch upon mostly broad points but glad you pointed it out.

Honda has stopped adding spares to most of their cars

Unfortunately, the European market doesn't get spare wheels in the Toyota trunk, the USA always gets better and cheaper ones than in Europe :( Nevertheless, I have a rav4 and I don't need another hybrid!

I just test drive on Saturday, there is a spare tire underneath the trunk/back on the CRV. It is also the base model.

Why is there never any mention of the oil dilution issue with the 1.5 turbo Honda gas engine???? On many of the Honda owner forums, owners are still complaining that Honda has dodged the issue by saying they have resolved it by programming the engine to heat up faster thus allowing the fuel in the cylinders to burn off before leaking into the oil pan. Many Honda owners claim this is a half assed fixed and the engine has an inherent design problem. If it was in fact resolved by does Honda urge owners to constantly then their oil levels and to change the oil consistently in the interval definded in the owner's manual???? Recently I heard there is a new issue that has popped up with the hybrid Honda engine involving the fuel injectors. While the RAV4 may be dated, (I don't think so), it is a very proven drive train and engine. I'll go with the RAV4. Oh, no spare in the CR-V hybrid???? Are you kidding me!!!!

the infotainment center on the Rav4 hasn't been updated in over 10 years w/ no plans to upgrade. CRV is updated and much more driver friendly. ie nav system to find a gas station in the honda not only shows distance but also the direction and can preview map location. select back button to look at a different option. RAV4 does not do this, you have to start navigation to see the direction. if your not going that way you have to cancel the nav and start ALL over! this is extremely frustrating to use when driving. So hondas may cost more but it also does more. You don't mention the actual functionality of the infotainment. screen size isnt all that matters.

How thew heck was this video for "Seniors"? All the features described are good for anyone. This video was just a review with "Seniors" put at the front or end of every sentence. It was kind of weird.

Sorry, the 2024 Rav4 LE with awd, in silver, is what we got. We compared all competitors and it won the contest, hands down! Forget Honda, forget Mazda, forget all the others! Our car has everything we need, nothing we don't!

What makes the RAV4 the one for me is the plugin for the PRIME. Getting 44 miles of electric when you have solar means I will not be paying to drive the car very often.

I just bought a 2024 Tucson Trend. I looked at both of these in the video and they didn't do as well as the Tucson, which has more features.

The CR-V hybrid transmission is Mickey Mouse and new so its reliability is unknown. The RAV4 eCVT has been around for 20+years and is possibly the most reliable transmission ever made. The AWD also is simpler and requires less servicing.

I like the lower trunk on the Honda in general, making it easier to handle your groceries. But the Honda is definitely nature friendly. On my 2017CRV & 2004 Odyssey, chipmunks can enter from the engine compartment through the fresh air intake, to build a nest inside just above the glove compartment. Needless to say, I have to clean it regularly.

I had to take my Crv in when I had it Twice in a month for rodents making nest in the insulation in the hood and chewing through wiper fluid lines. Solution was glue traps in garage and leaving insulation off of hood..There is the option to turn off the screen , though. 😎

Honda has the edge in fit and finish. Toyota’s are “looser” with more rattling. Honda has the better (softer) ride.

If reliability is your top concern, it's hard to go wrong with a Toyota.

Toyota isn't what it used to be. I chose a Tucson Trend (gas) after lots of research. The Toyota is very outdated.

Is there an option without the Infotainment system and Push button start. I do not want a Infotainment System at all in my new Car. This is a huge Distraction when driving. Give me Dials, switches, and knobs that do not move.

I couldn't agree with you more!I think that would be another distraction of keeping your eyes on the road.As well; as all the stuff on the dash other than speed and gas gauge is all I need. 😎

The Infotainment System is not a + in my book. The Infotainment System is a huge downgrade in my opinion. I do not want a Infotainment System in my New Car. Auto makers if your are watching this. Having the Infotainment System would be the reason why I would not buy a New Car. Give me a option that does not have the Infotainment System.
