Remote start is important to me ( and I don’t want to pay a subscription!). I have ventilated seats in my old cars. Never used them. Seldom use my sun roof. Cargo space and passenger comfort, efficiency and reliability. I have owned a Rav 4 and 2 CRV. Definitely leaning to CRV.

I like the tech in the RAV4 but the CR-V looks like a good place to spend time: comfy leather seats, rich sound quality, spaciousness, not to mention ride and handling.
I really appreciate the side by side views. It’s extremely helpful. Thanks also for doing the decibel testing because interior noise is a key factor for me.
Went CRV Touring. Buying is very difficult because MSRP is not where it ends. In this market the dealers are adding mandatory accessories (low jack, door guards, wheel locks, etc and so forth) to raise margin even more. Also availability is horrible in general across the industry. No one seems to have cars on the ground ready to sell. You have to wait and only buy what has been allocated to the dealer which alienates consumers and gives you no ability to negotiate price at all. Honda had the easiest process, no market adjustments to the already HIGH msrp.
You brothers just get better and better each week! The blue with black trim on the CRV definitely helps to remove some of its dullard characteristics. It gives me a touch of Volvo in styling(especially in the rear) and proportions. Its odd, this loaded RAV4 is only $4400 less than a Highlander Limited. Sheesh. I think its definitely time for the RAV4 to be refreshed now.
I really wanted the RAV4, but they were 5-7K above MSRP, so I ended up getting the CRV, which isn't a bad vehicle, but I like all the technology the RAV4 comes with.
Both are amazing cars. Honda has bigger cabin and looks better. But the toyota/lexus hybrid system is unmatched in reliability. We went Rav4 because we take weekend roadtips two times a month, drive about 3k miles a month, and in the end, we just wanted an efficient vehicle that will work with no issues for years to come.
That CRV has the aggressive look that I love . I saw this vehicle in person while getting my Accord serviced . Let me tell you , that thing is so beautiful in glossy black . Very nice looking vehicle. I fell in love with it .
Yes that black really caught my eye and i was only driving past the dealership in my 2015 Camry not thinking about a new car. Then boom here i am looking at buying this suv lol
I have a 2020 CR-V EX-L, and I love it. It’s the first car that I’m seriously considering a lease buy-out. I’ve been looking at hybrid vehicles this time (lease ends in July), but the residual value of my CR-V too good to pass up, compared to the new car prices which are ridiculous! When I was in the market for a new car in 2020, I considered the RAV-4, but I just couldn’t get past the cheap interior feel and the over-all cheap looking exterior. The same is true this year.
Both are awesome and offers some difference for different people, I love Honda products because the offer more room and still some fun...and race pedigree includes this weekend as F1 racing world champion engine supplier 2 years in a row
I've been deciding between these two for my next vehicle. It's really tough but at the end of the day the Rav4 has the most features for the price which makes it a better value for me. If CRV had those features available I would pick CRV with no hesitation.
Really like the side by side comparisons on split screens! I test drove both these in 2024 models and I went for the nicer driving experience of the CRV (Sport L). Also, the RAV4 looks a bit dated now. Maybe the 2025 will have a sharper design. It would be nice to have a spare tire, though, Honda!
Alright fellas, you've done it again! Another fantastic automotive comparison, between. The Rav-4 hybrid and the all new CR-V hybrid!! It's not an easy choice, regarding which one I think is better. The Rav-4 has more horsepower, but I think the CR-V has more torque. The fully loaded price is less with the CR-V, but the Rav-4 has more options like heated rear seats. Overall, both are great SUV'S!! Thanks again guys!!👍🏾
@@everythinghondapro5548 Just because I prefer one of the two, that doesn't mean I'm paid by the other. I do like the CR-V redesign. Just a few small things different, I'd probably buy one tomorrow lol
Spare tires usually are only good for up to 50 miles and so is the flat fix machine, so is really a draw there. Beside the cooling seats on the Rav 4, Honda takes it. Plus the Crv's AWD system is actually a AWD with 50-50 split unlike the Rav 4.
It is difficult to convey how much larger the new CRV is compared to the RAV4 in terms of interior space. It’s half way between the RAV4 and a Highlander. The rear seat legroom is huge! What annoys me about the CRV is that Honda didn’t include even an option for 360 degree camera and ventilated seats. I understand that this way they could keep the price under $40K for even the top trim, but still.
If CR-V has 360 camera, it would have been my choice among the many cars we are looking at. Living in the city we have to maneuver through tight spaces and fast so not to block traffic. 360 camera has been the life saver. Love everything else about the new 2024 CR-V.
Honda use CR-V transmission belt drive which is not suitable for towing while Toyota Rav-4 still use the traditional gear drive automatic transmission. People who study mechanical engineering very much can tell that the gear drive system can provide much bigger load than the belt drive system.
Exactly. The RAV4 has 8 spd and no turbo. It’s reliable. I drove it and had no complaints. Amazing that small cars have 8 speeds! We live in a good time.
@@markmason5443 Toyota has an 8 spd transmission (no bands) in its gas only rav4. Their hybrids have CVTs (bands). Toyota makes one of, if not the best, CVT transmissions.
These AWD systems are different. If you live in snow country, make sure you try them out in snow before buying. My last RAV-4 was not good, even with small amounts of snow. I felt my 2018 RAV-4 did not do well in snow. Paying $40,000 for a vehicle that does not fit your needs could be an expensive mistake.
My older Audi A4 w/Quattro didn’t do well in snow. I swapped in snow tires (for Audis) and it made big difference. Just gotta swap em off when weather changes. I’d do same if I had the AWD hybrid RAV4
Great comparison. Both are great vehicles that have always been competitive. We had to decide between the two back in 2009 and went with the RAV. Even though the RAV does offer more features at this point, this time we went with the CRV because one was actually available at our local dealer! We would have to wait for months for a RAV. Personally I like the looks of the new CRV better. RAV looks like some sort of transformer.
@@puzer1 the cr-v looks significantly nicer(but beauty is in the eye of the beholder). And their interior is significantly nicer. But in my country they are also a few thousand more than the rav. We currently own a 2020 cr-v, but won't be buying another due to pricing. No interest in a rav either.
Would definitely go with the RAV4 for all the upscale features (cooled seats, pano moonroof, surround view camera) that aren’t even options on the CR-V.
I rented a gas ‘22 RAV4 for 3 months. (I drive a full size truck). Brakes and handling were excellent. I avg’d 28 mpg - reaching 35 Hwy. Four cyl was buzzy and had a delay on initial throttle input but ride was excellent. Cargo space was good, interior space adequate for my 6’ - 3” frame. I just wish the hatch opening was taller. Interior quality really good and ergonomics were first rate. Dash lighting was very good, cloth seats comfortable. I’d get the faster hybrid with 40 mpg city. Rav4 has more features than the new Honda, another good car. RAV4’s small screen, base radio connected to my iPhone effortlessly and sound was surprisingly good. I recommend renting any car you’re thinking of buying. The rav4 is a very good crossover. 👍
@David Each yet What I did was I hit the throttle before I took off to get the revs up. There might be a chip you can install that will change a setting in the computer. I’d contact a few of those performance companies who may make a tune for the rav4. Banks has a product called “pedal monster” which changes computer settings so the throttle is instantaneous. The vehicle feels faster but might not be faster. Look into it. If I had a diesel, I’d get it. RUclips videos seem to like the unit. The RAV4 is a good veh.
I owned crv, civic, acura, ridgeline, all got no any problem . My neighbour has camry and rav 4 ,complaint about burning oil on both ! I would pick crv again for sure.
I have both but I feel rav4 is little luxurious for long distance traveling.I drove 2 days from Pennsylvania to Northern Carolina and back.I feel comfortable with rav4 than crv.But it’s personal choice 2022
Lack of a spare tire on the highest trim is really stupid, I've had several flats on my 2021 crv, and the inability to change your tire just ruins your whole day dealing with tow trucks and tire repair shops
How they handle on rougher road and off-road situations is really what I am interested in and the only reason I am considering an SUV as I am into going off the beaten path for outdoor adventures. None of that was discussed unfortunately. The missing spare tire on the Honda CR-V would definitely be a disqualifier though. I have had too many flat tires in remote locations with no cell-signals.
@@Uncommonsensetoo rav4 adventure model? The hybrid needs to have an a-trac like mechanism and it would be perfect. You could look at subaru also. Theres aftermarket rear lockers for those.
I can not believe Honda didn't come up with 1. Actual spare tire 2. Panoramic Moon roof! How 'stodgy'!! If it weren't for those two items, I would flat out buy the Honda! But I am now going with a different model all together!
I just bought a 2020 Rav4 XLE. My wife bought a 2021 CRV HYbrid XLE a few months ago. Crazy but I get to try both and still love the Rav 4. My fear with a Hybrid is still teh problems of batteries and cost of changing them, my CONventional Rav 4 gets great mileage when compared to most any Gas powered SUV, I get power and still about 26 city and I have not had it on a long drive as I just bought it two weeks ago. I also did not like the Electric push buttong Transmission and am surprised Honda went back to the old Stick SHifting feel. The ability to pull a stick into gear sold me and was a major reason I did not go with a Honda. I also found that both are still hard to find USed and Longo Toyota (worlds largest car dealership) says they will not take anymore new orders as they already are backed up 2 years of orders. THey told me TOyota did not increase their produciton after COVID and is behind. So, I hope to be able to find a 2023 Rav 4 in about 3 years to buy. In any case, buying a Used Rav 4 or CRV, regardless of trim is expensive and usually minimum of $3000 more than the car cost when new. I can't even imagine the problem with buying a new TOyota and have no idea what buying a new CRV is like. One last thought is that the quality is great and they both are rated to run over 250,000 miles. It is hard to beat that, I was a BMW owner until I saw the Japanese by far beat them in Quality for price and length of time their products stay on the road.
Fog lamps are being discontinued in Hondas lineup as well as Toyotas slowly because of how powerful led headlights are. Fog lights don’t do a whole lot anymore
Rav4 all the way and non turbo. Rav4 overall reliability. Crv is not reliable with 1.5 turbo engine oil dilution and with timing belt. Rav4 has timing chain it will last longer than crv
I looked at both. The Honda feels like it has a lot more room and less blind spots. I don’t like Toyota’s subscription stuff either. Spend $40,000, but you have spend more to use features it has built in already. No thank you!
The CRV'S last generation was far superior to the Rav4, but with the 2023 CRV redesign, Honda missed the mark by a lot. No ventilated seats, lack of a panoramic sunroof, no drop down levers for the rear seats are all big misses. Honda is playing it cheap, which will cause them to not only lose current customers, but also potential new customers.
Honda has decided to released a cheep model of CRV in US vs Europe. They offer much nicer CRV-Hybrid plugin with full digital display, 360 cameras, HUD, and Panormaic roof, as well much nicer trim with out weird cheep unpainted bottom plastic. Contact Honda USA and complain about cheep version of CRV USA!
I would definitely get the crv because it has more space for people and has a newer engineering and real leather seats. Not leatherette for over 40k in rav4.
We’ve been testing both vehicles and decided on XLE premium RAV4. My wife can’t handle the orange stitching in sport models. The only hybrid option in CRV is a sport. RAV4 has several trim levels with hybrid option. The CRV is bigger on inside, I think RAV is still a better option.
We have a heavy snow fall this year. And my 2023 crv saying goodbye to all those vehicle that got stuck. I was very impressed with the performance I got another today
I have a 2019 accord hybrid and it is pretty awesome. I did have some issues with the electronics during the winter and had to take it in but Honda fixed it with a software update. it did it again and they did something and fixed it. I also have the rav4 limited hybrid 2022 and it is pretty good on gas. better than the accord hybrid. I wanted a crv but couldn't wait so I went with the rav. I am happy with it, drives like a tank and feels like it will last a long time. I wouldn't buy the first year model of the crv, I am pretty sure it will have some bugs to work out. The rav seems pretty sorted out and reliable. Was crazy rushing a pregnant wife to the hospital in the accord in a snow storm and having some weird malfunction where the headlights didn't work or wipers, all abs lights and dash lights on. but the car drove fine, was scary with no wipers or lights but we made it. I think Toyota as far as hybrids go, seem to have better all round reliability and gas mileage. Oddly the rav gets less gas milage in the winter than the accord but only by 2mpg average around 32mpg in the winter and 40 in the summer with the rav. in the accord 34mpg in the winter and 37 in the summer. The Honda feels way more sporty than a camery hybrid tho, it is way more enjoyable to drive. And the regen on the Honda with the paddles is bliss for trail braking into corners, I can roast people in the Honda, it takes turns amazing. IM sure the new crv is probably funner to drive than the rav4. It looks like the new crv has those regen paddles too.
Your RAV4 Hybrid is better on gas than your Accord hybrid? I have a '22 Accord Hybrid Sport and always average 50mpg in mixed drives (in decent weather). I didn't think the Rav4 even cracks 40mpg.
@@bgy1 in the winter the Honda gets better but in the summer the rav gets 40 consistent and the Honda does 37. maybe mine is different. its a 2019 accord hybrid touring with the 17inch wheels. maybe it has 18 inch but not the sport wheels just the hybrid ones. the ride is softer with the smaller rims. I like the accord it drives amazing the rav drives like a bus but it dominates the city. Honda definitely more enjoyable to drive. The rav just has more utility, if they had the new crv available I probably would have Gone for it instead of the rav. few mpg is not a big deal for better driving position and feel.
I've really enjoyed my '22 Insight also. In the most demanding conditions for a hybrid - cold, rain, nighttime driving- it still averages just under 50 mpg. Ideal conditions render about 65 mpg.
@@zl1David thats awesome milage!! I dont know much about the specs of the insight but sounds like honda figured it out. Maybe the newer accords do better than mine, i think i got the first year model of new design accord. They might be using better batteries by now and im sure that changes the mpg.
It’s a 10.5” screen. I have a 10” screen in my truck aftermarket. It’s plenty big and I can read the screen without my glasses. The old standard 7” RAV4 screen wasn’t up to date but it connected to my iPhone 13pro every time I got into the veh. So the software on new unit should be just as good. The old radio had great sound too. I was shocked. It’s gonna be excellent.
2022 RAV4, if you have the Audio Plus option, you can still do free remote start. However for 2023 RAV4, they got rid of the Audio Plus option… due to the new head unit. No idea if will support free remote start now. No RUclips channels so far have gone into details to find this answer.
I went with the CR-V hybrid and I'm pretty impressed so far. I've have averaged 40.4 mpg in mixed driving on the computer since I got it. At my first fill-up, the calculation came to 41.2, so the on-board computer seems to be pretty accurate. It has been raining cats and dogs, so I think it might do a little better on dry roads. Having driven both the Toyota CVT and the Honda "eCVT" (I used quotes because Honda's eCVT uses no belts - it's really not a CVT in any customary use of the word) I much preferred the Honda. Plus, the current iteration of the Toyota is becoming very dated while the CRV is fresh.
@Bruce Wayne most recently I've been between getting between 44 and 46.5 calculated at the pump (the on-board computer consistently reads a little less). I doubt it'll get much better than that, and I'm perfectly happy with a midsized AWD SUV with this fuel economy. I hope it'll do at or around 40 this summer when I'm on some road trips with my whitewater kayak on top.
I've noticed that Toyota aswell as Lexus have auto start by pressing the lock button three times but choose not advertise it guessing that they want people to use their app
Having owned 8 Toyotas and 0 Hondas, am thinking Honda this time. Better drive train, handling, ride, looks, and price. But I will miss the panoramic view offered by Toyota.
The Toyota actually does have the auto start on the key fob aswell by pressing the lock button three times but they don't advertise it for some reason and most people won't know until figuring it out
Toyota offers remote start as a standard feature with the smart key system. You press the lock button twice and press and hold the lock button a 3rd time and it starts right up.
I have a 2003 Accord, had a 2015 CRV that I upgraded to a 2017 CRV. All excellent cars and only a couple very minor issues. I was planning on buying a 2023 CRV, but with the travel I do, I don't feel comfortable without a spare. Even a donut spare will get you to a garage. Any flat tire is going to be a tow job. I also don't like the analog speedometer. My 2017 CRV has a full digital screen. So I'll pass on the CRV and go with Toyota.
Am a fan of Honda but I just don’t understand why they are always behind in technology. No HUD, 360 camera, ventilated seat and rear view camera in this new age. It’s just too sad….
Rav4 is good but i think CR-V deserve a more point for It's AWD system, performance, & as we all know Honda's brakes are better than Toyota . Also Honda added a New driving Mode in CR-V. CR-V has the remote start. The Exterior design Rav4 doesn’t look as premium as CR-V & also CR-V's interior cavin looks more fresh and modern than the Rav4. Rav4 Has the fully digital gauge Cluster | CR-V has the half digital & and half analog but i think it looks little bit premium than the Rav4, ( personal opinion)
The fact that Honda just released a new generation CRV and cannot definitely beat out a much older generation RAV4 speaks volumes. And not to mention this platform was redesigned to accommodate next gen powertrains, and cargo space, yet couldn’t engineer room for a spare tire is mind boggling.
You have to think about the market. Pano sunroof would be great and ventilated seats as well, but that would increase the price of the vehicle. Leaving those features out, but keeping the price sub 40k was a smart move.
I drove the RAV 4. It is a penalty box all around. From they dynamic department its no comparison. Despite the additional fluff, everything screamed cheap and boring.
@@NathanPrintz excuse excuse you know it cost more with less features they’ve taken away a lot of features in all their models and those features used to be available in older Hondas !
@@curiosityredpill7030 not sure you’re understanding right. I pointed out that it had less features and I would rather have the sportage, but since the sportages cost 3k more because of markups than the CRV, it’s not worth it. Imagine how much equity you lose in your car as soon as production catches up and everything is MSRP or less. I shield myself from that by going Honda.
I am Toyota fanboy and if I didn’t have a family, I’d go with the RAV4. But as a parent of 2 adolescent teenagers, I’d pick the HRV for more spacious room for long road trip I take every year with my kids.
If you're considering the Honda CRV hybrid, think twice before you spend $44,000 on this car. Despite the sleek looks, the hybrid version falls short on mileage, providing only 26 mpg. In addition, the sensors in my car stopped working just after a week, despite resetting them multiple times. This has caused significant safety concerns, as the lane change and wiper sensors often fail to work, leaving me stranded in the middle of a drive. Even the lights are practically inefficient in the dark or rain, making it difficult to drive safely. It seems that Honda prioritized the exterior design of the car and jacked up the price without focusing on the car's functional features. What's worse, if you add even a bit of extra weight, the car starts to make a loud rumbling noise and the engine struggles to move the car forward. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a reliable and safe car.
Wanted the updated 2023 RAV4 XSE with advanced tech package but ended up with a 2023 CR-V Sport touring because it was available. Still waiting on two deposits I have for the Rav4🤦🏽♂️
I Liked the CRV before the redesign. Looks very generic now imo, if you told me it was a Mazda from the side i'd believe you. Having driven both, non hybrid, i was more impressed with the CRV. I love Toyota but the Honda drives better imo.

Now if we can get the rear turn signals to become LED !!! I would be helpful to have ground clearance comparisons And turning radius comparisons in all of your videos Thank you
They both are great but I’m wary of the turbo engine on the CR-V. The engine on the RAV4 is just well tested, solid, and in my opinion have more longevity. I need durability so I went with the Rav4.
The hybrid has a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine. The non-hybrid models have the 1.5L turbo that you are likely concerned about that previously had been plagued by some engine oil dilution from gasoline.
There's NO Comparison. Rav4 is #1 selling and that's all you need to know. You DO NOT want CR-V Turbo Engine and CVT Transmission. Rav4 doesn't have Turbo Engine and CVT Transmission.
I tested both. CRV EXL is much better and looks beautiful. Rav 4 is too plasticky, cheap looking and feels lighter while driving. How come Toyota likes plastic so much??
I test drove the CR-V hybrid. Loved it. Toyota - their dealers have simply turned me off in how awfully they've treated their customers. The brand might be ok but simply the experience has me wishing they can go pound sand. Having said that, the Sportage also drives incredibly nicely.

We went Rav4 because we take weekend roadtips two times a month, drive about 3k miles a month, and in the end, we just wanted an efficient vehicle that will work with no issues for years to come.
Two great vehicles. Choose the one that suits you. (If a spare tire can’t be added, I wouldn’t buy a CR-V.)
Honda should add rearview mirror camera, otherwise, it looks better than Rav4, but Rav4 is still the best.
Rav 4
Both are awesome and offers some difference for different people, I love Honda products because the offer more room and still some fun...and race pedigree includes this weekend as F1 racing world champion engine supplier 2 years in a row
I've been deciding between these two for my next vehicle. It's really tough but at the end of the day the Rav4 has the most features for the price which makes it a better value for me. If CRV had those features available I would pick CRV with no hesitation.
Rav4 is a 6 year old model this is its last year. Crv is a new totally redesigned model.
@@longle6167 that’s means Honda should be disappointed in itself for costing more with less features vs a 6yr old design
What features does the rav have over the CR-V?
Honda is better looking! Honda killed it. Hope to get it soon!
I definitely go with RAV4,....it will stay long lasting if compare to Honda CR-V
I have a 2012 CRV that has no issues. Out Accord is 24 years old with no issues. I'm don't think that is a true statement.
Thanks for watching! 😁
If the Honda Hybrid had more color choices for the inside and ventilated seats, I'd be all on board
The reviews paid by Toyota
@@everythinghondapro5548 Just because I prefer one of the two, that doesn't mean I'm paid by the other. I do like the CR-V redesign. Just a few small things different, I'd probably buy one tomorrow lol
You will need to find another way to ventilate your bottom…
Yes. Once you have ventilated seats it is hard to give them up!
it's true...!!!!
Spare tires usually are only good for up to 50 miles and so is the flat fix machine, so is really a draw there. Beside the cooling seats on the Rav 4, Honda takes it. Plus the Crv's AWD system is actually a AWD with 50-50 split unlike the Rav 4.
The Rav 4 space takes a full size spare
It is difficult to convey how much larger the new CRV is compared to the RAV4 in terms of interior space. It’s half way between the RAV4 and a Highlander. The rear seat legroom is huge!
What annoys me about the CRV is that Honda didn’t include even an option for 360 degree camera and ventilated seats. I understand that this way they could keep the price under $40K for even the top trim, but still.
Rav4 has more cargo space with rear seats up !!
Legroom is more or less same too !
@@ibrahimbashir6634 If you are referring to the current RAV4, then the CRV definitely has more rear legroom. Cargo space is similar.
360 view isn't even necessary of your a competent driver😂😂
If CR-V has 360 camera, it would have been my choice among the many cars we are looking at. Living in the city we have to maneuver through tight spaces and fast so not to block traffic. 360 camera has been the life saver. Love everything else about the new 2024 CR-V.
360 view is helps with parking, not driving @@bryanmarcia4104
For the cost of the Rav4 you can just buy a lexus or an Acura
Good luck finding a dealer that won’t mark it up by 5k
Honda use CR-V transmission belt drive which is not suitable for towing while Toyota Rav-4 still use the traditional gear drive automatic transmission. People who study mechanical engineering very much can tell that the gear drive system can provide much bigger load than the belt drive system.
Well. The Toyota wins in the transmission department. The Transmssion is the scariest repair cost.
Exactly. The RAV4 has 8 spd and no turbo. It’s reliable. I drove it and had no complaints. Amazing that small cars have 8 speeds! We live in a good time.
Wrong. Toyota has bands, Honda does not. Re watch the video & listen
@@markmason5443 Toyota has an 8 spd transmission (no bands) in its gas only rav4. Their hybrids have CVTs (bands). Toyota makes one of, if not the best, CVT transmissions.
Hybrid Honda has no any transmission!
AWD doesn’t magically make you drive in snow perfectly… you still need good tires for the snow
Thanks!
@@CarConfections looks outdated as f both.
"RAV looks like some sort of transformer." lol, both of these vehicles are nearly identical aesthetically...every design cue is the same...
I think the crv deserves a point for having a mechanical AWD system
Yep, I agree.
Me too. The Toyota AWD system was noted as only providing off the line traction and not above 40 MPH.
They missed this important difference
Came here to mention that too. It's a big differentiator in driving feel over the e-awd and a big reason why the mpgs are slightly less
You have a good point. I own a new RAV4. But yes mechanical would be good.
Would definitely go with the RAV4 for all the upscale features (cooled seats, pano moonroof, surround view camera) that aren’t even options on the CR-V.
What about the cable corrosion problem that plagues the RAV4 hybrid. Has it been solved?
@@louis5555gmail that cable problem and reading about the Canadian owners' class action lawsuit has turned me away from the hybrid RAV4

CR-V for me! Can't wait for them to come out. This will be my 4th CR-V. Keeping my '15 since it is paid off.

Love your split-screen edit to compare things instantaneously 🙂
Glad you liked it! Thanks 😁
Neither vehicle is what you'd call an off-roader. Better off with a Jeep, Bronco, or 4Runner.
@@gcb345 99% of the time I will be driving on standard roads so gas mileage is important too. So is reliability. That pretty much excludes those 3.
@@Uncommonsensetoo rav4 adventure model? The hybrid needs to have an a-trac like mechanism and it would be perfect. You could look at subaru also. Theres aftermarket rear lockers for those.
If thats a concern you can purchase a spare at a tire center. Much cheaper than dealer.
I can not believe Honda didn't come up with 1. Actual spare tire 2. Panoramic Moon roof! How 'stodgy'!! If it weren't for those two items, I would flat out buy the Honda! But I am now going with a different model all together!
I would pick the CRV, even tho it's missing some features
The RAV4 is not $4k better than the CR-V... with that said, both are great vehicles.
Always bought Honda. They feel better and look better to me. Toyota is good but they are still stuck in 2013 with designs.
This time I gotta say Honda dethrones rav4 in terms of exterior and interior styling now, nice job Honda.
They both seem to have noisy interiors, road noise. That’s my biggest complaint with my current Honda.
I live in a hot climate zone, so the cooled seats from the rav 4 come in handy and I love the panoramic sunroof!
I’m glad I’m not the only one that can’t get past the orange stitching!!’ 😂😂
Honda drop the ball with this one
In my opinion CR-V is more safe and comfortable than RAV4. But RAV4 has more options.
Yea CR-V really sticks with best comfort in class. After all, you spend the most time in the cabin and its the more upscale feeling one imo

I hope you guys can review the 23 RAV4 hybrid xse or limited with the bigger screens now😊
The one in the video has already larger display than those until 2022. Do the higher spec one have even bigger screens?
No, for 2022 i think the one they showed is the biggest offered but the 2023 offers a bigger one
Hi Car Confections Can You Make The 2023 Toyota Sienna XSE

The CRV should get 1 point for free remote start.
2022 RAV4, if you have the Audio Plus option, you can still do free remote start. However for 2023 RAV4, they got rid of the Audio Plus option… due to the new head unit. No idea if will support free remote start now. No RUclips channels so far have gone into details to find this answer.
Honda for me
I went with the CR-V hybrid and I'm pretty impressed so far.
@BruceWayne-sz3th Hybrid... SUV!
I've noticed that Toyota aswell as Lexus have auto start by pressing the lock button three times but choose not advertise it guessing that they want people to use their app
I got the RAV-4. Honda still has that body style from 2013 and you can hear the road when driving. Toyota drives smooth and quiet.
Having owned 8 Toyotas and 0 Hondas, am thinking Honda this time. Better drive train, handling, ride, looks, and price. But I will miss the panoramic view offered by Toyota.
Why didn't the CRV get at least a half point for auto start on the key without paying for a subscription that Toyota charges?
I was thinking the same.
The CR-V has gas struts for the hood. That's worth 1/2 point!
If you aint loyal to any brand, just toss a coin. You just can't go wrong with literally the kings of the segment.
what about mazda cx-5 or cx-50?
Toyota wants a subscription for autostart on a $44,500 cars.... wth thats absurd.
Exactly. That’s crazy. My Honda Accord came with auto start.
CRV has a fix a flat kit in the trunk.

Am a fan of Honda but I just don’t understand why they are always behind in technology. No HUD, 360 camera, ventilated seat and rear view camera in this new age. It’s just too sad….
Acura is the reason.
No Panoramic roof, no ventilated seats, and no HUD is what make the CR-V undesirable, IMO.
I would personally not buy a RAV4 now. I think they will get a redesign and will get even better very soon.
I'm going with the rav4.
Make sure you dont live in an area that doesn’t salt roads. I was going for the RAV4 until I found out about the cable corrosion issue.

Don't you mean the CRV?

I Liked the CRV before the redesign. Looks very generic now imo, if you told me it was a Mazda from the side i'd believe you. Having driven both, non hybrid, i was more impressed with the CRV. I love Toyota but the Honda drives better imo.

You know Honda CVTs are reliable right? They aren’t Nissans
I tested both. CRV EXL is much better and looks beautiful. Rav 4 is too plasticky, cheap looking and feels lighter while driving.
How come Toyota likes plastic so much??
Honda interiors are well designed with high quality plastic but if you take a closer look cost cutting is very obvious same for exterior.

I will say if you could please do some post recording editing as I was listening to the review while driving and when you started to say certain words the volume would go up significantly. I would say that you need a pop filter. Either way I it was more noticeable because I was just listening.
