I will read this! Someday. 🙃 Great review, Sarah. When I'm in the mood for some King this might be the one I pick up next. I'm intrigued by the time travel aspect.
Sarah this was an excellent review! You nailed all the key points flawlessly. I am very happy to hear you enjoyed this one :) This is one of my favorite Kings, all of his strengths are on display
I loved 11/22/63, but it was a long time before I read it. I never cared for the concept that the world would have been so much better if JFK wasn't assassinated. I'd hear stuff like he was going to stop the Vietnam War but he didn't his first 2 years in office so... But the book is so much more than that.
I had heard about this book when it first came out, wanted to read it but my life was too busy at the time. I never knew about the mini series, but just two weeks ago, I started seeing clips on my feed. I ordered both the video and the book. Watched the series, and loved it, just started reading the book, and watching book reviews. Your review is by far my favorite. Thank you, for your intelligent, insightful review. I'm subscribing to your channel, and look forward to hearing of other recommendations. Thanks so much.
@@fredhannum4015 thank you; that’s so kind of you to say! I’ve been away for a period of time, but planning to be back with more reviews at the end of the summer ☺️
@@TheBookCure thanks for the response, I've started watching some of your other videos. When you said you weren't American I thought where could she be from? Well, now I know. You are certainly well spoken and I appreciate it. Stephen King, has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I do like his style, and attention to detail and character development. I know him best, from the films but I can't really deal with horror. I know it's just me, but childhood trauma has made it so. I'm now an old man but still can't deal with it. I only fairly recently have been able to express myself emotionally, and getting better in that way. Enough of that. I'm looking forward to exploring some of your recommendations. Thanks again * I just sent my wife Mollie your site with my recommendation . We both retired about five years ago, and both really love to read.
I just finished reading 11/22/63 cover to cover and its a good one folks for those who have not read it I will not spoil it but its got some twists in it I did not see coming
This is probably one of the Stephen King books that intrigues me the most, so it's very exciting to hear that you enjoyed it so much! Thank you for this great review, I loved hearing your thoughts! 🥰
I love this book. I actually listened to it on audio and remember not being able to stop listening. Plan to also read it in a few years. It's easily in my top 5 favorite Stephen King books.
Nice review. I've read this book three times. I know that sounds excessive but I just loved it that much. On that date I was a freshman in high school and I felt transported back to one of my favorite times that was also one of my most difficult times. The only King novel that I could not get more than a third of the way through was Under the Dome. Just too difficult for me. My favorite shorter story was The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordan. Thank you for your reviews!
I’ve never really been interested in reading Stephen King but your review of this has given me some interest to maybe pick it up one day 😆 I quite like slice of life moments!
I'm listening to the audiobook. I'm just past the halfway point. He has just moved to Mercedes Street. I'm mostly enjoying it. Like you I'm glad I finally got around to reading it but it's not my favorite King novel. For me that is still Revival.
I’m so happy you read and enjoyed 11/22/63! This book has a special place in my heart for a few different reasons, and I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I agree with what you said about the parts that “meander” serving a purpose in Jake’s character development. I did have a feeling the JFK part might not be as meaningful for readers who didn’t grow up in the U.S.. Then again, my mother-who remembers that day in vivid detail- read this book and solidly liked it (rather than completely loved it). This was my second King read after The Gunslinger, so I definitely missed the big mulitiverse connection. 😅 Wonderful review!
I got this book back in 2012 as well (I think I actually started reading it on 11/22). I can't say that I like it as well as you do, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I thought the story moved well, and the character development was on par with King's other work. The multiverse connections made me smile, but worn thin for me quite quickly. The ending disappointed me, and the after-effects of his journey were unbelievable to me. I'm looking forward to the spoiler discussion and curious to see if you touch on all the aspects that stood out for me.
I was looking forward to seeing what you thought of this book, and somewhat surprised that you ranked it so high. This is the only book by Stephen King that I did not finish! Make of that what you will. Bear in mind that I have read some of his latter output like Lisey's Story, and his new one "later', which I enjoyed immensely, but this one just did not work for me.
Great review!!! I agree with all of your points about why it's so good and how it's a great starter King novel. I'm not that invested in the JFK assassination either, but I think the choice makes a lot of sense- Americans mythologize JFK and the assassination, so it makes sense that this older man would choose that moment when things "went to shit" and bequeath his goal onto Jake. I'm sure a historian might be able to better pinpoint an apex moment, but for a layperson who makes this discover, There isn't really another moment that could have been chosen (from an American perspective, without going much further back). But I totally get that the specific details of the event can make someone's eyes glaze over if they aren't invested in it. Loved the multiverse tie in as well...damn, I want to reread this book. I'm looking forward to the discussion!
I've never really enjoyed much of King's work. He is verbose without being noteworthy, and this one really seemed to go off on tangents where the main plot was concerned. Loved your Tiagana review though.
Appreciate you review of this book. I think I will pick up this book after watching your review. Thanks for sharing
I'm so happy that it stopped being obdurate you finally got to read this one and even happier that you enjoyed it so much. Top 3 King.
Happy reading to you!! 😊🎥🎬
Great Video!
I will read this!
Someday. 🙃
Great review, Sarah. When I'm in the mood for some King this might be the one I pick up next. I'm intrigued by the time travel aspect.
I have never been a big King reader but THIS book is the one that really calls to me and I want to get to!

This is my favorite book by Stephen King. Hell, prob in top 5 favorite books. “It” is close, but 11/22/63 is just phenomenal.
It’s fantastic! And proof that King can write a killer ending.

Such a great review Sarah! I’ve been on the fence with this one since I’m not huge fan of American history lol. I keep hearing good things.

Spoiler alert .. the Kennedy Oz enigmas..
It was Abraham zapruder after all ,
Nice twist from Os and Oz .. it was A.z.

Have you read storm of the century by Stephen king or from a Buick 8 🤔📚📖
Y🤩S super fun book! Happy Friday Friends

He’s certainly not for everyone, but I like his meandering style. For totally different reasons than GGK, who has the most beautiful prose!
Such a great read!!!
