Welcome back from your awesome summer! You had some great summer reads. I was firmly off the fence on the side of not adding the the Locked Tomb series to my TBR but now you have me reconsidering that, whoops! I had a great reading summer and some of the highlights are Lois McMaster Bujold (Sharing Knife series), Connie Willis' The Road to Roswell, Susan Casey's The Underworld: Journeys to the Depths of the Ocean, and Drew Hayes' Fred the Vampire Accountant series which is my favorite given the humor, cleverness, and coziness of the entire series.
Yay! Welcome back! I loved every second of you gushing over Locked Tomb. Those are for sure some of my favorite books of the last few years. So weird and wild. Swordspoint sounds amazing! I need to check that out soon. My summer was a blue. New baby and new position at work 😵💫🫠
So happy to see this wrap up in my feed! Totally get that when filming time becomes stressful its hard to get things done. A lot of what little I have purchased is to combat apartment living sounds and my lack of control of the sun 😆
Glad you had a good summer, but also glad you're back to making videos! I also really liked the Anthropocene Reviewed - it feels more akin to his RUclips content. And I'm so happy you loved the Locked Tomb! Whenever you mention it I feel like gloating hahah. I have faith that Muir will stick the landing and it will make your top 10 series
Thank you!! Light Bringer was great; I am so pumped for the finale now! And I’m sure it’ll be the favourite of the series for a lot of people - so many amazing scenes!
SARAH!!! I am so happy you are back and even happier to hear that you had a wonderful summer on this booktube break! Also, your hair has gotten so long and you pull it off!! 🤩🤩 Heck yes for the Locked Tomb love, I am 100% going to join you for that reread next year when Alecto is finally coming out. The weird thing about that series is that no single scene is actually confusing or hard to follow or anything, but when you look at the bigger picture and how everyting fits together, it just makes no sense... but I LOVE THAT. It's so bold and unconventional and just so so so much fun! Welcome to the fanclub hehehe 🖤🖤 And Light Bringer is one of my favourite reads of the year, though I can totally see what you mean with it having outgrown its initial tone and vibe. I like that Brown never got too highbrow though, it's epic sci-fi custom made for my pea-sized brain hahahah 🤣🤣 Loved hearing your thoughts on all of these and looking forward to all the videos you are going to bring our way again, glad to have you back 🥰
That’s exactly it!! I was expecting book 2 to be a “harder” read, but it’s not dense or difficult page by page, it’s just the overall concept that’s mind boggling! Also, it’s funny you say that about the hair, because I’m just about to get it cut 🙈 ❤️❤️
So glad you’re back! I wanted to thank you for mentioning a book earlier this summer, The Boys in the Boat. Shortly after you mentioned it, I saw it in the bookstore and picked it up. It was so wonderful and will probably be my favorite book of the year! It’s an amazing story!
Good to see you back Sarah. Sounds like you had a nice Summer. Always great times when kids are young. I got through some excellent books this Summer, the best of which being: The Martian - Andy Weir If I Die In A Combat Zone - Tim O’Brien Touching The Void - Joe Simpson The Greatest Beer Run Ever - John 'Chickie' Donohue Ogres - Adrian Tchaikovsky Who Goes There? - John W Campbell Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams Also in comic books several Judge Dredd volumes (always a favourite) & the first two volumes of Rat Queens (re-read) When are you reading more GGK? 😃
That’s amazing that you intended to read one chapter of The Binding but then read the whole book! I love hearing about those “unputdownable” reading experiences! Welcome back! ❤
We always line up with our non fiction reads. I also read the Anthropocene Reviewed earlier this year (and An Immense World) and I was also really touched at times by it. I love the thread of hope strung through it, and his message that we are just witnesses here on earth to all the wonders it offers.
I was going to ask you the same! Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11, I'm Glad My Mom Died, and Travels with Charley (Steinbeck) are a few on the tbr.@@TheBookCure
I just recently discovered John and Hank Green. I was watching some science videos on RUclips from PBS and this skinny, ginger guy was in a lot of the older ones. Then I heard his name in a video and realized I'd heard of him on booktube as an author. Then I realized John Green, who I had also heard of on booktube, was his brother. I found their RUclips channels and subscribed to them as well as most of the educational channels they created. As a science geek I regret not knowing about them until earlier this year.
I have a plan to read Gideon next month. I Love Anthropocene! I had listened to the podcast prior to getting the book and the book is just his podcast transcript minus the commercials! I could hear him in my head while reading and it was Fabulous! Welcome back!
I discovered Red Rising about a month ago (it's out of print in my country so nobody ever talked about it and I had no idea it's so popular haha), read the first trilogy so far and REALLY enjoyed it :D Can't wait to get to books 4-6!
Hi! I've been following your channel for a while now and I really enjoy your thoughts and recommendations. I just started 20th century boys because of you and Petrik so thank you! Good to have you back. My summer was chaotic with buying a beautiful old house, renovating it, staying with parents and in-laws during that two month period, having my second baby and it rained almost all summer long (I live in Sweden) 😂 So it was amazing and hard and beautiful and stressful. I am looking forward to a much more peaceful fall now that we are settled in with lots of reading and baby cuddles and cozy family time. I wish you a wonderful fall as well 🍂🍁🎃
Swordspoint sounds interesting! I want to read 20th Century Boys, but I think I'll tackle another of his manga first, Pluto. It's built on the world of Astroboy, and it has an anime adaptation out next month. The trailer looks great! I just finished a reread of Hild in anticipation of the sequel out soon.
Welcome back! You nailed the issue I have with the second series of Red Rising! I couldn't put my finger on it, but yes, the writing style does not match the new political tone. 💯 Gideon the Ninth was great. I definitely need to continue on with Harrow.
Here's the books I enjoyed during the summer Rememberings by sinead o'connor memoir Pageboy by Elliott page memoir Crazy is my superpower by a.j mendez Brooks memoir Blood sugar by sacha Rothchild Blood trail by c.j box from the joe Pickett series Astrid parker doesn't fail The fiance farce by Alexandria bellefleur
So glad you're back! Top few favorite booktubers!
Thank you so much 🥹❤️ I’m glad to finally be back!

Sounds like an amazing reading line up!! Locked Tomb is definitely not for everyone, but I loved it!
Yay you're back!!🎉🎉🎉

I can imagine your summer was a whirlwind! Lots of good memories, though 🥰 You should check Swordspoint out, for sure!

Hahaha, it’s always a struggle to control the lighting!! I hope you had a good summer, Angela!

Yes, I have faith as well! I can’t wait to read it. Gonna have to pencil in that buddy read as soon as there’s a release date 😉
I'm glad to see you back.I'm also glad that you enjoyed Light Bringer,I loved it.

@@TheBookCureHahah what a coincidence!! But you pull off any hairstyle so it's all good! 🤪

Thank you!! It’s always a great feeling to totally fall in love with a book ❤️
Sarah's back! I remember you talked about Swordspoint before. It sounds very interesting indeed.

Those all sound amazing!! Glad to hear you’ve had a good summer ❤️ I’m going to do a GGK readalong with Jake in November! 🥳
Welcome back! You have been missed from RUclips.
I’ve recently read Stoner based on one of your videos and I found it such a sad but amazing read.
Thank you so much!!! I’m glad to be back ☺️
So happy to see you back! You've really hyped me up to read the Locked Tomb series now 😁
Yesssss, Nemos!! It’s so good 😭
Welcome back! I missed your videos but I'm glad you were having fun. 😁
Thank you!! 💕 Feels good to be back!
Ooh, yes!! The Binding was a really nice surprise for me too. I read it a few years ago and still remember think about it sometimes. ❤
Will be a reread for me, for sure!
That’s amazing that you intended to read one chapter of The Binding but then read the whole book! I love hearing about those “unputdownable” reading experiences! Welcome back! ❤
I love it when that happens - completely drawn in by book. It’s good to be back ❤️
glad to have you back sarah
Thank you! 🥰
Glad you enjoyed your summer reading Sarah! 😊
Thanks, Chas! ☺️
We missed you! Happy you are back :)
Thank you! I missed everyone as well 🥰
Yaay, you're back!! ❤
Felt so good to record something!! ❤️

I was going to ask you the same! Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11, I'm Glad My Mom Died, and Travels with Charley (Steinbeck) are a few on the tbr.@@TheBookCure
Yay a Sarah video! I agree with your reasoning for why Light Bringer is jarring for you, but I still think it's the best of the series 😂
I’m sure it’ll be the best for a lot of fans! It was definitely a fun read. I’m pumped for the finale, whenever it may come!

I thought the podcast and book were linked - thank you for letting me know! I really hope you enjoy Gideon as much as I did 🥰
So happy you are liking locked tomb!
It is so good!! I am desperate for the last book 😭
Welcome back!
Thank you!! ❤️
I discovered Red Rising about a month ago (it's out of print in my country so nobody ever talked about it and I had no idea it's so popular haha), read the first trilogy so far and REALLY enjoyed it :D Can't wait to get to books 4-6!

I bet it's not an accident that Banana Fish is in frame! 🍌🐟
Never an accident. Once I reorganized I knew I needed it there 😍✨

Whooooooo!!!!
Yeahhhhhhhh ❤️
I bet Jude the Obscure was your top fav. 😅😅😅😜😜
Book of the Year 🤣🤣
For book 1 the Lesbian Necromancers are definitely on a planet for like 98% of the book
You are correct. I guess Lesbian Necromancers on a Planet didn’t have the same ring 🤣🤣
