Probably the most enjoyable and best SK novel along with The Stand. I've seen other tiers and best of lists on RUclips and they seem to agree. I haven't seen your video yet.
I’m reading it right now... I’ve enjoyed it at parts, but I’m around 400 pages into the story, and I’m kind of bored. So many people rate it highly, so idk if I should continue. I LOVE the idea of it, but it’s super wordy.
This is probably my favorite SK book. I read it years ago but I seem to recall I took a long break from reading in the middle. He is really wordy. So I guess you never got to the romance which was the only thing I liked about it. I really don't enjoy a lot of Stephen King for all the reasons you mention. He always references his other books and locations. Maybe just pick it up again in a few months. I think it interested me because I was in the 3rd grade when JFK was killed and I remember the horror and sadness in the adults around me.
Puhleae pick up The Familiar Dark by Amy Engel. Trust me. You will fly through this is a couple of days or even one sitting if you have the time to do that!! 😁😁📚📚👍😁
This ones definitely tough. I personally adored this book. HOW. EV. VER. I listened to it. If i read it physically I would’ve quit. And there were many times I was like broooo get on with it. I was also thrown by the fact that the title is misleading because this book is not about JFK. All that said. This is the only book this year so far that made me ugly cry toward the end. I had to sit on it a few days for rating because it’s a confusing one to assess!
I listened to this as an audio book which made it easier to get through. I know so many people love Stephen King, but so many of his books that i've read probably should have been edited down. Like so much of the middle of the book I just don't care about at all, and I never liked Jake and Sadie's relationship, there was something about it that just didn't capture my interest at all. Also I kind of wanted King to pursue a conspiracy theory and have the assassinator not be Oswald just to add some intrigue
I also DNF'd this book, you got further than I did. I was so bored. I ended up googling information about it and it's in the last 50 pages before we even get to JFK's assassination. Which is the only reason I picked the book up 🙄 glad I'm not the only one that DNF'd it 🙈😂
I am thankful to hear you feel the same as me. I have DNF Stephen King's books in the past because of his huge descriptive writing and I got a nasty message that I don't know how to read and I should get a tutor. In my opinion there is no need to be so descriptive get to the action. LOL I never picked up this book and I have no interest in reading it. There are so many other books that catch my interest I would rather pick up :)
THANK YOU!!! I feel his books are so bogged down with unnecessary filler. So far the best for me is The Shining. It was just ridiculous. I'll give this one a skip too.
I hate S. KING books but usually enjoy the film adaptations. I watched the limited series of this one with james Franco and enjoyed it. It has more action plot 😉
I fully agree with your sentiments. This was such a boring read. It was full of cliches and I skimmed through the latter of the book to just get to the end which was plain boring.

I love how he references his books in his books.
Life is too short to force yourself to read a book you're not enjoying. I read the ENTIRE thing and rated it 3-stars.
Okay but you never love any books 😂
@@daijahsbookworld Daijah always calling me out omg! But for real though I have a vlog coming out on Sept 1st that you have to watch!

Yeah, I think I thought it was going to be different, but I'm loving the tv series!

Damn. You did yourself a huge disservice by not finishing this book. Sad.
