Yoooo it’s October 2024, and I just replaced both taillights on our 2013 Elantra hatchback!! Thank you!! Tip: get a BIG SCREWDRIVER and really push it down hard behind the black rear facing part and the taillight will pop right out. 15 minutes on one side, 15 seconds on the other, lol!!
Thanks Bro! That helped a lot. Finally got it off and replaced the brake light. Your video was a lot of help. I am curios though as to why the Elantra goes through so many brake lights. I’ve replaced the brake lights 4 times in the last year. If one goes our the other will within 2 weeks. No shorts in the wiring but this car eats brake lights.
If it is eating up break lights that means there is high voltage or low resistance in the light. Really the 2 go hand in hand. Best bet would be to get the electric schematics for your car. You can call the dealer and ask for repair manual name or schematics title. Most electric runs through the fuse box in the engine bay. Find out the resistance for the appropriate fuse i.e. taillight and use a multimeter to test resistance and compare to schematics. Most of the time corrosion or poor quality metal results in incorrect resistance. Hope this helps!
@@thomasreed181 oh also the hanes manual you can buy from Amazon. Not sure if it will give voltage or resistance specs but has lots of information on any specific car.
Great instructive video. I was able to replace the rear and tail brake light and a tail light! I was afraid to touch anything before your video. If you have a video for replacing the license plate light, I would definitely appreciate it! Thank you!
Try from a solid source of bandwidth and a good download speed. If this doesn't help let me know and I'll see if I can edit the video to make it play better. Thanks for letting me know!

Thank you only video I found helpful for my vehicle
Thanks... Very helpful. The light console looks fragile but fairly robust despite being yanked out.
Thanks for the video ! Just got a warning for having a brake light out 😓, but now it’s an easy fix😄
The part that’s actually hard is pulling the housing off (without breaking anything), so thanks for the attention on that part.
Thanks g helped me and my bro and cracked us up 😭👌
I had to use this on my 2016. So def not stopping at 2014 but thank you cause I just did this
I think I did this before the 2016's were out but I'm glad it helped you out!
Bro you just saved me and my taillight. Thank you!!
