Np, hope it went well and she is happy again
I used a rubber mallet tapped on screw studs after the nuts are removed. Tapped on them while pulling on the light fixture. Thank you for the video.
Np. Next time if tough tp get out. Use a shoe string
@@avery214j ok will try it
Thanks brother straight to the point
Np. Try to do this always but some other videos i try not to leave out helpful stuff
Best way to get this light assembly off without damaging anything is to remove the bolts and the rubber plug then take a long socket extension and place it in the hole against a flat spot make sure it's not against the light caps or anything you will damage. The hard clip holding it is under the narrow piece of the light if you wiggle the light lose and squirt a bunch of lubricant behind where the clip is it should release easier from the clip. Then cover the light in duct tape leaving some hanging at the back to grab and pull it backwards. When all this is done get 2 people one to hammer the extension from behind and the other to tug on the duct tape. It will take some force but it will pop out. I struggled with this thing for months until this worked for me. Good luck it's a huge pain really poor design.
Hi
Im glad you found a way that works for you. All the ones ive done just came off after the two retainer bolts were removed. Thanks for the update. Take care
u just need a shoe lace lol u made the shit more difficult as is
I’ve spent an hour struggling trynna take it off and I couldn’t find a single video to help but if you put a shoe lace behind the tail light ( far pointy end facing towards the front of the car ) & make a knot & tug the living shit out of it pulling straight back it’ll come right out.
PSA it’s gonna feel like your gonna break the light but be careful because once it comes out it’s gonna fly out & I had to catch the light as I was falling back from the force of taking the light out or back it up into some grass so you don’t damage the light if you don’t manage to catch it in time.
Thx for watching. Youd be the 2nd person i know of who had an issue removing it and figured out how to help yourself too. Take care & good job
@@avery214j overall great video & definitely helped
Im glad. Ive heard from some it was hard to remove. I guess its how it was put on i guess. Most of them ive worked on just came off with little help. Take care
👍
I cant get it off. I put a strap around it. Even pulling nothing. Guess it was designed in a way to make you go in and spend money to get it off.
Gracias... Saludos
Welcome
THANK YOU
Np, your very welcome
I'll probably end up shaving both of those forward retaining clips since they are a PITA!
Np
Any chance you know the fuse location for the break lights? I replaced the light bulb, but it still won't work.
Hi
Sorry i dont own a hyundai was just working on that car 1 day. If you are changong the brake light bulbs and BOTH are not lighting up when u step on the brake. The most common cause is a bad brake light swith located on the brake pedal. Open the fuse panel box and read as it should tell u what fuse controls what
@@avery214j yeah lucky enough it was just a burnt out break light so I replaced the whole piece to fix it.
Good job buddy
What bulb did you purchase for this?
Sorry, video is a year old and i dont own the car. Take old bulb into Walmart or autoparts store.
Thanks!
Np. Just trying to help everyone. I have many other helpful videos on youtube for the elantra. Take care
@@avery214j Ok, great, now I'm looking to replace outer driver's door handle that froze and broke this winter!
Np. You can find them online but putting what your looking for into google. Check local autoparts web sites and rockauto for colors and even ebay but not from China or Canada. Lol. Will take 4ever. Goodluck
Google 2017 elantra driver door handle you will see many sellers. Look carefully b4 buying but youll find it online for the drivers door. Peace!!
@@avery214j Ok. Thanks again!
I tried working the tail light free and it won’t busge
Hi
Some of them can be on really tight and the seal simply needs to be broken
After making sure all bolts or nuts have been removed. Take a STRONG shoe string and place around the corner and pull
Thats tail lights. Not the brake lights.
Lol
It's the same bulb
I’ve been trying to get it out for 3 hrs watched ever RUclips video. 😡
Hi
Some are on there tight and as long as u removed ALL retainer nuts. You'll just have to work it off.
Did u ever get it off?
Like most light assemblies, once the retaining screws/ nuts are removed its just a case of wiggling them free.
Thanks for watching
Same
It does not slide out that easy, please stop.
All cars are not made by the same person. Sometimes regardless of another's experience. U may have to be brave & use some MUCLE. put a shoe string around it and try, try, try. Your not the first to struggle with this altho many others have had a SMOOTH path to removal. Best of luck
Fyi. The day & location yours was installed at whatever factory. That person was on their phone & used too much sealant. Lol
