    In February I bought a 24' CT4 Sport 2.0 with the Onyx Package. It came with 19' wheels on run flat tires and Brembo front brakes. Being 69' and 6'4" with a bad back, it can be a pain getting in and out of.

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage  3 месяца назад

      Very understandable there. It does sit pretty low. Not nearly as bad as a Corvette but it's almost there.

    Nice video. Hard to find Base reviews. It's a good car as it gets trickle-down goodies from the entire line including V & BW. But this is the one I could actually purchase. Unless the dealers don't want to sell one.

    What’s the difference in the 2024 also is this a AWD model

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage  11 месяцев назад

      Cadillac didn't change anything for 2024 on the CT4 oddly enough. This is the AWD model. I'm assuming (you know what assuming does) as Cadillac is changing the CT5 for 2025 that's when they're doing the facelift on the CT4 as well. But I'm not sure.

    You are correct that there is value but the problem is that, for people seeking luxury, Cadillac sedans no longer compete against BMW, Mercedes, and Audi the way the ATS and CTS did. They aggressively priced the CT4 and CT5 in order to attract more/younger buyers but because of that were not able to maintain the luxury feel and stripped out alot of stuff...CT4 starts at $34k whereas a BMW 3 series starts at $44k...so how can the CT4 ever hope to compete for those same buyers?
    Cadillac would argue that the CT4 is supposed to be in line with the 2 series but as far as vehicle dimensions the CT4 compares to a 3 series and the CT5 with a 5 series...and the CT5 starts at $38k while the 5 series starts at $56k.

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage  Год назад +2

      Very true and fair point. But the Cadillac will compete with them still because customers want to buy Cadillac for the name, whether or not it is comparable to the BMW, Mercedes etc.. They buy it for the name, not necessarily because it's supposed to be more luxurious than anything else on the market.

    • @tintocherian7715
      @tintocherian7715 Год назад +2

      @@ivgarage But to your point I think with the Cadillac name there is an expectation of a certain level of luxury by default and these new sedans don't necessarily meet that the way the previous generations did. At this point only the Escalade feels like it is worthy of the Cadillac name. Everything else just seems like they exists to check a box and round out the lineup.

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage  Год назад

      The CT4 also competes because it's $10k less and has the same luxury/amenities.. having driven the same models you're comparing them to.. BMW etc (yes I have driven them)... Same with the CT5. The CT5 is closer, imo to like a 3 series or 4 series in terms of size. I'm interested in your opinion on how the BMW competes with the ct4 and 5 with that in mind?

      @@drprofessor1414 I had bought the 2.5L NA RWD model and I bought it used... The problems started to happen when I hit 60000 miles. Within 1-2 years this were the repairs : Exhaust leak, coolant leak, oil leak, Cadillac Cue System replace, fuel pump, whole wire harness. Luckily the warranty covered most of this. I traded in the car as soon as the warranty was finished. On the other hand we also have a 2020 CT4 2.0T AWD and this car is super reliable as we speak. 10x better build quality and drive than the ATS.
