      Best bet is to remove the distributor cap and rotate the engine over until the rotor is lined up where cylinder 1 would fire

      Yes, you will still need to see those but you will see them when the timing light shines down onto it. I should have also specified before you remove the old distributor, pull the cap off and line it up where cylinder one would fire.

    • @ivgarage

      The reason you want to line it up there is because you still can be 180° out and install the distributor 180° out and it won't fire

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage 3 месяца назад

      Thank you so much for watching! I will be making more soon. And Battle Garage RS has really good stuff I prefer ACL race bearings, even for daily driving. Obviously you'll have to send everything to a machine shop to have it all checked before ordering the proper bearing size. Cam bearings can't be replaced on these engines, but if you were looking to upgrade cams I believe they have them too. Valve shims, I'm not exactly sure where you may be able to get some. I'd say just check clearances and maybe get with a machine shop to see if they can machine some for you.

  • @berkeleytrue

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage 4 месяца назад

      Yeah sorry about that. I used an engine leveler on the hoist and hooked the chains to the hooks on either side of the head. Then there is 4 mounts that hold the engine and transmission in, one on the transmission and 3 on the engine, on bolt goes through each of them. Once you remove the transmission it's a lot easier to get the engine out.

Do you think that might help? Also would you still have to put the engine at tdc if you’re not completely disassembling the dizzy, and I just mark where the rotor is before removing? Either way great videos thanks for the help. I have a 88 NA.

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage 4 месяца назад

      Thank you! I appreciate the support! You definitely could try those two o-rings first. It's definitely a good start. But anytime you remove the distributor from the head, it's best to put the engine at top dead center because the distributor magnet likes to sit at cylinder one So it's just a lot easier to plug it back into the head without the potential of getting it a tooth off. You'll still need a timing light as well.

    I tested the vehicle and came away with an extremely positive impression. All materials were not gaudy and were authentic. Soft touch plastics, real wood accents, and real metal surfaces. I'm over 6'2" feet tall and the head room was impeccable. The Lyriq is a show stopper. This Cadillac is second to none in the electric vehicle market! The ride felt absolutely composed compared to other electric models. Undoubtedly a winner of true sophisticated and precise engineering.

    Good stuff I just picked up an 87’ AW11 that I’ve seen parked for five years. N/A and auto but with a T-top and rock bottom price I couldn’t say no. I have someone that can recreate MR2 parts. I’m a content creator as well channel: YouOnlyLIVETwice

    Great review. Very in depth, like none other! I had a deposit on a lyric. I ended up just leasing mine off of the lot. The wait was insane to purchase from my deposit . I purchased the Celestial Metallic AWD Sport Level 1. I’m in love with my car! Most features are the same as the ‘23. With the exception of some menu options in the dash and the door hands that light up and eject.

      Thanks for sharing! In my opinion it is best to lease one anyway! I'm glad you enjoyed the review!

      @ivgarage u are making me rethink about my project a bit lol.. my 4age is knocking bad so I got another 1 for cheap. I plan on just having it running while I save up for a 2gr build but now seeing your videos on how nice the 4age looks makes me want to rebuild it lol.

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage 5 месяцев назад

      Lol. You can definitely build the 4AGE to be very nice. I recommend it. The built 4AGZTE I have should be capable of 500 hp. But this first round I'm using the stock NA 4AGE So I'll make like 200 horsepower. Then. Once that blows up then I'll put that built one in with supercharger and turbo.

    Is that the original front reinforcement crash bar if so lucky you my one on my 85 was practically rusted away 🥲

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage 6 месяцев назад

      It is. But it did get a bit bent in my accident. I'm gonna try to fix it. If not I know a guy that has a clean one. You should check out some of the AW11 Facebook groups. Lots of people selling AW not rusted parts!

    Take advise from those that have done this many times before, run a braided ptfe line from block to a remote mounted T piece for the oil pressure sensor and turbo oil feed. It will eventually crack with the weight of the oem oil pressure sensor and engine vibration. Turbo oil return needs to be right up at the sump flange and no smaller than 5/8. The oen oil cooler oil return is too low and too small in diameter. Front one on the tank is the sending level unit, fuel pump assembly doesn't have a level sender.

    Need to get a different turbo or turbo housing with a internal waist gate. A WG the style your trying to use will not be ideal.

    • @ivgarage
      @ivgarage 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I've been trying to debate on how I should do this. Haha. Wouldn't be a bad idea!

    • @MayhemMotorsportsPensacola
      @MayhemMotorsportsPensacola 6 месяцев назад

      @@ivgarage Your going to have to. That type of WG will not work on the back of the turbo. Best bet would to drill a large hole above the turbo collector and weld onto it there. But internal would be the best in that setup.

      CPO is the best warranty GM ever thought of. They are really nice vehicles and for what you get, I think it's an amazing deal. Hope you enjoy it for a while!
