Iv taken the gov and put 18p valves and a straight pipe on last week end. I cant believe the difference. Dif worth the time to do it. And the money. Keep the vids coming guys. I always look forward to watching u guys.

Only thing with a flywheel that can handle high rpms with charging coils is a tillotson 212 electric start engine. I have no need to buy a new engine yet but once my finally gives (whenever that is 🙄) I will for sure get a 212 electric start

My wife bought me one of these bikes for Christmas, I put a torque converter on in and cut the throttle limiter screw, got 48 mph with the governor intact
I have a CT100U and was able to reach a top speed of 36 with simply removing the throttle stop screw and bypassing the governor. It is still slow off the line and has difficulty with hill starts but she will run top end.
5:23 You needed an short extension on your drive socket and instead went in a bit crooked. Might be stripping threads. Maybe start it in nice and straight with the fingers and then use the air tool with a 3" extension. Good videos!

@@itsme5279 I got the display bike and all the bolts were loose, my clutch burned out in a month. The bike was leaking oil everywhere and my front wheel pop in a week and now my bike is stuck on full throttle and I've lost about 5 bolts to vibration
I’m thinking the zip tie trick with some mods. take two tip ties. cut the one ratchet of one put zip tie through spring under center of fuel tank. place the loose ratchet over full zip tie but do not snug it up all the way, vawalla medium level gov???
Instead of running a nut and bolt combination to fill in the 2 holes in the case, I went ahead and tapped them and ran 8 mm bolts to match the case, but a little bit shorter. I don't risk having a nut come loose inside the belly now.

Damn right they are. So many people waste their money buying 212's. If they only knew that the 196's are just as upgradable as the 212. It doesn't even take a lot to make a 196 stronger than a stock 212.

it should be safe if you don’t stay above 5000 rpm for too long but it’d do you some good if you didn’t have to worry about a rod flying into your nutsack when your riding
@@brocku0 I like my nut sack. I use billet rods and flywheels on my governed motors so that I can zip tie them without worry and tune down for friend to ride.....🤔.... now I just need friends 😕.
I talked to go power sports directly about this, I asked about a stage 1 motor with governor removed and 18lb springs and they said do not worry about upgrading the internals that you push 4200-4500 with that setup and the stock internals will hold up fine.
Could y'all please make a video showing and explaining the difference in the springs for both pulleys on a tav2 30 series? I understand they change the engagements but how does it effect the minibike performance off-road/climbing hills?

Have you ever had oil to leak at the base of the kickstand side? Can’t fin the leak, going to make sure the cover plate is torqued to 17 ft lb. hope that’s the issue.
It sure does but if you are going to eventually install a torque converter removing the governor is a waste of time. If you want more speed get a torque converter right away. If you remove the governor you will increase the chance of ruining your engine. Not so with a torque converter and if your engine could talk it would thank you.
I did this to my Coleman ct200 u ex do I have to gap them in between the coil in the magnet as well if so what’s the recommendation it calls ? or is this just for the bt200x
I remember being a kid in elementary school and me and my buddies would be comparing our pocket knives I have course had a Boy Scout pocket knife those were the days doing dangerous stuff and not getting in trouble for it remember lawn darts LOL.

Your engine looks wet. Did you spray it off before working on it? If so, how did you spray it without possibly causing damage to the engine? Also will the Jackshaft from the coleman fit a predator 212?

oil catch cans are like an oil filter for moisture and or aeration of the oil or any gunny oil will get caught in the catch can and then good oil will go back they are really helpful with longevity of the engine just remember to empty the catch can every once and a while
Man I was hoping the how to vid would be a lot simpler than it looks. I don't know didly squat about engines except how to do an oil change lol. Forget about removing the governor I'd never get the engine back together if I have to disassemble it just to remove the governor. I thought it was just a screw near the throttle that had to be removed. Are there any easy very simple ways to increase the speed and power of these minibike engines without having to take everything apart ? For us people who didn't take small engine repair in High School ?

It's actually pretty easy. Just did it on a predator 212 and took about 2hrs.
At 5:25 how did those bolts go in? On my MiniBike those holes aren’t threaded

@Red Beard's Garage are the two governor holes on the block threaded? You mention using 1" long 1/4" bolt with washer, then impact on.

Just a note out that not all flywheels will explode like a bomb when they get to that speed sometimes some of them can withstand past 3600 rpms

Great idea using compression fittings on the throttle cable housing! I'll have to try that......
Seems like ditching that clutch/jack shaft and going with a torque converter would work well on these things.

It sure does but if you are going to eventually install a torque converter removing the governor is a waste of time. If you want more speed get a torque converter right away. I bent the starter cup disassembling, and tried to get it back into shape. It's not perfect, but would that keep me from being able to pull the cord?

The stock jackshaft bolts right onto the 212. You just need 1 inch long 5/16" x24 national fine bolts for the Predator. The stock bolts are metric.

the full plate you have listed at the moment seems to be out of stock. do you know if the half plate will fit on the 196cc colman?
I have the same bike in stock form and vibrates really bad on take off then smooths out at high rpm.ready to send it back.any thoughts on this.
