I played Tales of Symphonia so much that it turned around to Robin having the voice of Lloyd. Until they replaced him in Dawn. And then Teen Titans Go had to have a million damn episodes... But man, does he perform amazing in Symphonia, for sure.

Even though when I had it on GameCube I’d literally replay it over and over. That being said, I totally think I’m gonna replay chronicles xD
Ah yeah, one of my favorite boss fights in the game. The most epic 1 vs 1 fight in the Tales of series in my opinion. A fight to see who is the better swordsman. Father vs. Son. This fight also seems to show that Lloyd has matured and grown strong ever since the start of the game. I also noticed that the spells Kratos uses the most in this fight are the ones that are best used with Spell Charge (Thunder Blade, Grave, and Air Thrust).
This fight in a way seems to be more about who's the better swordsman/who's more skilled with swords, not who's stronger. This is just a random justification on my part.
Gonna miss the tiger rage -> twin tiger blade combo that I learned from your old video D: But still, it was nice to see you do this fight again in English!
It's a good combo (what I usually do actually, not vs kratos though). SR:A -> raining tiger just doesnt work nearly as good for 1 on 1 with kratos since it can leave you open. It's better with a party since the sword rains holds the enemy fairly long without knocking them down, allowing another character to hit and continue the combo. Plus some just like the 30 hit combo lol.
Omega combo Kratos so much that Kratos fell collapsed halfway between the combo and omega had to step back to give him a little breather and the continued comboing kratos
Not really important to say but yolo. I always noticed in most ganeplays, walkthroughs ect. That during this moment with kratos and through that forest, most of us have the weapon angles tears equipped on lloyd haha its just really neat to notice because the moment was so iconic and memorable that i can kinda of remember what weapon i used as well as the techniques that i did to beat kratos. This game may not have “aged” well like a lot of people have noticed, but it will always hold a place in my heart as one of my favorite tales game in the series 😭❤️
Was the funky camera angle in the Gamecube version? I don't remember raging this much over the camera in the Gamecube version, but man, Dragon's Nest got my blood boiling in this version by sliding the camera so I was looking into the plane of attack
Tales of Symphonia was a hyped Gamecube exclusive (back in the day) and Namco was willing to throw money at big cartoon VAs like Scott Menville, Daran Norris, Jennifer Hale, and Tara Strong (also big anime VAs like Kari Wahlgreen and Crispin Freeman). Nowadays, I don't think you can get away with that in a B-list JRPG due to budget and unions.
I remeber that whenever this fight would happen or a very fun fight like zelos or kratos or yggdrasill i'd equip wooden swords or a weaker weapon just to extend the fight. good job on the combos yo!
You're so good, I've completed the game on the easiest mode but I'm not very good, I enjoy playing though :) I've played through it 2 - 3 times, but each time with Lloyd so I might try a different character next time :)

Thanks! My usual set up is: - Taunt (lv 1) - Personal (lv 2) - Ability Plus (lv 4) - Sky Combo (lv 4) In this video in particular the only one that matters is Ability Plus so you can link 2 lv 1 techs together
That's the Angel's Tear. You can either pick it up from a chest in the Torrent Forest (where this fight is) or buy/customize it in Flanoir, which you can do a bit earlier (right after the doctor scene).

the biggest thing that i took away from this fight is that you can use demon fang to force enemies back on to their feet and continue to combo them.

You can use a level 1 tech into its level 3, but not its level 2.
